  I opened a folder support with Norton a couple of days, for a problem with ccSvcHst.exe cripling process my system by consuming my CPU.  I found that it was a common problem, and so I wanted Norton to solve.  Their guy accesed my remote system support and made a few changes to my configuration utility and my registry files and then upgraded my version of their latest version 4.0

  After the end of the support session, I finally restarted my system and encountered an error on my configuration utility being in a State of diagnosis, then that I should put it in a normal mode and restart again.  I noticed that it had disabled the start of my services.  I selected a normal startup and restarted.

  The problem with ccSvcHst.exe consuming my CPU is now resolved - be replaced by different processes consuming my CPU and use of extremely heavy memory (or misuse).  Faulty processes are mostly explorer.exe and iexplore.exe.  Not only that, but this current problem exists even when I turn off Norton.  I tried you connecting another deal with them, but they will not address the issue, since the problem (now) exist even without Norton running.  So, basically, they made the problem worse and then pushed him on Microsoft to resolve the issue.  It's really nice...

  It seems that your computer is infected. I get this from the fact that iexplore.exe (Internet Explorer) is running. If you haven't started IE yourself, then it is a clear symptom of malware infection.

  If you can't do the work yourself (and there is no shame in admitting this isn't your cup of tea), take the machine to a professional computer repair shop (not your local equivalent of BigComputerStore/GeekSquad). Please be aware that not all shops are skilled at removing malware, and even if they are, your computer may be so infested that Windows will have to be properly installed.   What antivirus/antispyware/security products do you have on the machine? Be one you ALREADY had on this
  machine, including those you have uninstalled (they leave leftovers behind which can cause strange problems).

  Part of the problem is probably SpyBot which can greatly affect the peformance IE and Vista/Windows 7.

  Start - type in the search box-> find Services at top - click right on - RUN AS ADMIN

  Double-click Service SBSD and change it to MANUAL and STOP

  Then run SpyBot and in settings uncheck TeaTimer - close and restart.

  Now you can run SpyBot as a scanner at the request.

  Then, run checkdisk - schedule it to run at next boot, then apply OK your way out, then restart.

  WLAN is set up with WPA2 AES with 802. 1 x for key management.

  Customer is set up with WPA2/AES, authentication method is Microsoft: card chip or other certificate on the computer. Authentication mode authentication is the user or computer.  The client is configured to use a certificate on the computer.  "It only works if the authenticating user or computer is seected."  If I use computer authenticate option... it says that it cannot find a certificate to use for the EAP.

  ACS is configured to allow only for the EAP - TLS protocol.

  We have created a stand-alone CA server and distributed CA certificates root and client authentication for all test systems.

  This whole process with EAP - TLS works very well if you are already connected to the machine, with the credentials of the cache.  Once I disconnect the Windows 7 client, I lose the connection to the WLAN.  We want to stay connected to the WIFI network.  W PEAP / MSCHAPV2 works very well with stay connected to the WLAN, but we want to use EAP - TLS.

  Any ideas?

  Hi Ryan,

  You actually answer your own question :) The reason for the fault is because the computer account doesn't have a certificate, so when your computer account user cannot connect to maintain the session going, and so you are disconnected. Provide the computer with a certificate account and your problem will be solved.

  Hate to tell you but PEAP is not supported by nature in windows XP. You must purchase and install a version of 3rd party drivers.

  For your #1 question:

  Start > programs > Accessories > system tools > Task Scheduler

  Look for the tasks listed on HP., if you see them you can delete them or distributes them to run once. Who should take care of the problem

  For your question #2:

  There are a few services that are needed for starting windows update to work correctly. (these are services that depend on it).

  Take a read of this thread (found on another forum). BlackViper.com, there a nice breakdown of the Windows Vista SP2 service configurations.
