Wireless authentication but encryption
Hello
I have a few 871W. Is it possible to make (no authentication, available to all) open wireless network but with encryption?
I read somewhere that I could do something like this using 802.1 x, but could not find any documentation for this cisco.
I want to be sure that everyone can use wireless, but detection is not possible (or very difficult).
Is this possible? If so could you give me link documentation?
Best regards
Understood... but this is why the minimum protection is for you to decide. Yet once... with comments wireless, you can not force any type of encryption, or else you will support users. Any provider you use, the result will be the same. Encryption and authentication is there so that we can use if configured. If you had invited wired, how to protect him?

Vista can communicate with the wireless router, but cannot access the internet
I have a SONY Vaio with Vista. Until recently, it worked fine with an old router Netgear wireless with no encryption. I replaced the router with a Linksys E1200 and set up for WPA/WPA2 encryption. My iPod, iPad, an HP printer and laptop running Windows 7 quite change with absolutely no problem. After entering the SSID and password on the Vaio, it connects to the router but will not access the Internet. I tried to reset the router and cable modem, without success. Suggestions before you start the laptop across the room and rid my life of the bane of Vista forever?
Hello
· What is the antivirus installed on the computer program?
Let's try the following methods.
Method 1: Temporarily disable the antivirus on the computer program and check if the problem persists. If no problem occurs, then you need to firewall settings in the security software.
Note: Check that you activate your anti-virus protection on the computer back after you complete these steps. It is not recommended to disable these settings on the computer. It's just to solve the problem.
Disable the anti-virus software

If you can't sign in, reset your password, or receive verification codes, you can account recovery application to restore access to your account. Account recovery is an automatic process designed to help you back into your account as soon as possible while denying access to anyone who might be impersonating you. It may take a few days - or more - depending on the specific account information, you provide to verify your identity.

Wireless connected but cannot display Web page
Hi, I have a HPG7094 laptop with Vista 64 bit installed.
I tried for days to fix my problem. My wireless connection has stopped working. It says it is connected to my wireless - excellent - but when I try to open the internet I get the error IE cannot open the Web page. I deleted my network and tried to re-login only to get the same error. I did a clean install on my laptop and downloaded the drivers on the HP site, but it's always the same.
In the lower RH it says 'Unidentified network' (and the name of my network) access: Local only. If I connect the ethernet cable, it works fine and if I connect my mobile dongle orange it works very well.
I have other laptops and desktop computers and all these connect wirelessly without problem. I have tried to 'fix' the wireless connection and not to renew the period of INQUIRY, still no joy. I connected on the router from my office and changed the channel from "auto" to "6" and "11", but this has no effect.
Someone at - it ideas, what could cause this problem, any help would be highly appreciated.
Gail

I did not want to do this (restore point). However, I found a solution. It comes: http://forums.techguy.org/networking/1029348-network-connection-status-media-disconnected.html
Where there are two crucial steps (do not know if the two were needed) RUN command (1) netsh int ip reset reset.log and (2) netsh winsock reset catalog

I am trying to set up my wireless printer, and the printer says its is connected to my wireless network, but I can't get my computer to print wireless if I disconnect my regular network and attach the direct wireless network name, which is different and stops my internet to work. How can I get my computer to recognize the printer on my regular wireless network?
Hi @lelg,
I understand that you want to configure the printer on the wireless network. I can help you with this.
Uninstall the printer software.
Uninstalling the printer software.
Restore the default settings of the printer.
Go to Configuration, restore the default values.
Cycle power to the router and the computer.
Run the installer on the printer wireless.
Go to the configuration, Setup, menu wireless network, Wireless Setup Wizard.
Print a configuration page to get the IP address of the printer.
Select the method.
If you have a valid IP address for the printer, then try and access the Web built-in to the printer server. Type the IP address in the address bar of your web browser. (Internet Explorer)
If it loads the page from the network printer then the printer is on the network.
Download, save, and then run the installation of the software. Color HP LaserJet Pro 200 pilot M276nw MFPS.
Select your operating system, click Next and click on the software to download and install.
Test the printer.
What operating system do you use? How to find the Windows Edition and the Version on your computer.
Please provide detailed results if you're still having problems.
Good day!
Thank you. -

I have exactly the same problem in Windows Vista Ultimate Edition. I can delete, change and move all other profiles wireless network but one that reappears immediately after that I erase it.
I see that you asked initially that this issue in 2010. Has there every been a resolution?ElliottMy Eureka has been using netsh, explains Superuser.com «How to completely remove a wireless network from Vista» Everything I found on the Microsoft site doesn't give any examples on how to find profiles (netsh wlan name) or the statement appropriate to remove this profile (netsh wlan dlete name = "the name exactly as shown, case-sensitive quotes". That he solved it for me.

Wireless router / Internet problems
I am running Windows Vista Home Edition with Security Essentials. I can connect to my wireless router, but cannot get internet connectivity via Wireless. If I connect the cable to the port on the router, I get internet connectivity. Is there a firewall setting that could cause this problem?Hello
Your router could be suspicious here, you have successfully updated its firmware as a possible solution? And I would like to
Update your WiFi drivers on computers. How you are positioned in the router? Are there
obstacles in the path?Actually try updating your driver and disabling the network logon.
Control Panel - network - write down of the brand and the model of the Wifi - double click top - tab of the driver - write
version - click the driver update (cannot do something that MS is far behind the pilots of certification). Then
Right click on the Wifi device and UNINSTALL - Reboot - it will refresh the driver stack.Look at the sites of the manufacturer for drivers - and the manufacturer of the device manually.
http://pcsupport.about.com/od/driverssupport/HT/driverdlmfgr.htmHow to install a device driver in Vista Device Manager
http://www.Vistax64.com/tutorials/193584-Device-Manager-install-driver.htmlDownload - SAVE - go where you put it - right click – RUN AS ADMIN.
You can download several at once however restart after the installation of each of them.
After watching the system manufacturer, you can check the manufacturer of the device an even newer version. (The
manufacturer of system become your backup policies).Repeat for network (NIC) card and is a good time to get the other updated drivers as Vista like
updated drivers.I would also turn off auto update for the drivers. If the updates Windows suggests a just HIDE as they
are almost always old, and you can search drivers manually as needed. How to disable automatic driver Installation in Windows Vista - drivers

Make sure you know the details of connection to your wireless router - SSID and password.
You lose connection when you do and have to redo your logon.
Control Panel - Network & Sharing Center - right, click Customize - page set of network locations.
lower left click on merge or delete network locations - REMOVE all instances of your network (and the
others you don't use anymore) - REBOOT. Start - Connect To log on to the network.-----------------------------------------------------
