Wireless connection: adapter with no signal router

The adapter wireless in my Dell vista basic laptop deoes does not receive signal wireless to my router.

Hello

Turn off the router and the Modem - wait 3 minutes and reverse. Restart the computer.

Your router could be suspicious here, you have successfully updated its firmware as a possible solution? And I would like to
Update your WiFi drivers on computers. How you are positioned in the router? Are there
obstacles in the path?

Actually try updating your driver and disabling the network logon. Use a wire or download drivers
on another computer and use removable media to transfer to your system.

Control Panel - network - write down of the brand and the model of the Wifi - double click top - tab of the driver - write
version - click the driver update (cannot do something that MS is far behind the pilots of certification). Then
Right click on the Wifi device and UNINSTALL - Reboot - it will refresh the driver stack.

Look at the sites of the manufacturer for drivers - and the manufacturer of the device manually.

How to install a device driver in Vista Device Manager
http://www.Vistax64.com/tutorials/193584-Device-Manager-install-driver.html

Download - SAVE - go where you put it - right click – RUN AS ADMIN.

You can download several at once however restart after the installation of each of them.

After watching the system manufacturer, you can check the manufacturer of the device an even newer version. (The
manufacturer of system become your backup policies).

Repeat for network (NIC) card and is a good time to get the other updated drivers as Vista like
updated drivers.

I would also turn off auto update for the drivers. If the updates Windows suggests a just HIDE as they
are almost always old, and you can search drivers manually as needed.

------------------------------------------------------

Make sure you know the details of connection to your wireless router - SSID and password.

You lose connection when you do and have to redo your logon.

Control Panel - Network & Sharing Center - right, click Customize - page set of network locations.
lower left click on merge or delete network locations - REMOVE all instances of your network (and the
others you don't use anymore) - REBOOT. Start - Connect To log on to the network.

  • HP officiate J6450 wireless set up with a new router

With this new wireless router, I use the Wireless Setup Wizard. For some reason any enter the WEP key that consists of alphanumeric characters, I am unable to key numeric characters. Regardless of how many times I press the button, I see only alpha numeric characters only. Help, please

First of all, do not use WEP!  He is not sure - it can be broken in 10 minutes approximately with the freeware.  Use WPA or WPA2 with a password of 13 + strong character that you create.

There are two ways and I do not have a J6450 to help you.  Or keep hitting the key and the number should be the last of the list - GOLD-123, choose the menu keyboard.

  • wireless connection (WRT300N) to the wired router (BEFSR41)

itself...  I have nice small router 4 ports and a WRT300N that I attach to the router.  Looks like it should be 'easy' but it is not just plug n play.  I'm not an expert... probably the WRT300N must be differently configured when it is connected to a router if it was connected to the cable modem.

Help is greatly appreciated.  Even if it's just a pointer to info - I don't mind doing my homework, but can't find anything about it in any documentation that I ran across.

BTW, we have a good reason to not simply use the router without wire, so no need to think that, thanks...

  • Internet connection not working is not wireless, connected to two networks

However with the radio, I have local access to the home network. In the network and sharing Center, it shows that I am connected to the home network but also to another unidentified network. When I click the Diagnostics button to see why there is no internet connection, he said that the problem is that there is more than one connection and that I should remove one of them. I recently got a laptop HD malfunction cause me to start my PC from 2004. I bought a Belkin N150 Wireless USB adapter to connect to the internet connectivity. During the installation, I do not get a "Wireless network connection" icon I am running Windows XP SP3. I installed the same USB adapter on a computer running Windows XP SP2 and it works fine. I plugged it in my desktop PC and it just doesn't work! Even with my router disconnected I should still be able to see other networks WiFi available in the range (I live in a community of apartment) as he worked on the other computer it elsewhere too. I double checked the drivers, reboot the cable modem, so that appropriate services were activated and still no dice. I have read forums and I'm almost at the point of paying MS for technical support services, but it's really just my last step before I shell out money for professional help. Notice to lovers? =)

    Hello

Well, at this point, you should make an executive decision.

If you think that someone will take just guilt because it's comfortable, it is not going to happen.

If a new card that is known to work does not work, then you can try to re - install Windows.

One of the differences between computer enthusiasts and regular users is the availability of the material. I have a set of wireless router, network cards, etc. that are known to be good.

The components are used for the sole purpose of trying them temporarily on the troubled computers to rule out hardware problems.

I have a laptop with Win Vista (Hp Pavilion), and I always have to connect to my wireless router (Thomson). Until now, I had a problem, especially with the bad weather a few times and I thought is about the quality of line.

In general it wasn't working properly, I mean the connection. I almost every time to reset the router, to establish the wireless connection. No matter if the computer mac laptop is connected or not if a cable, I have no connection to the network, and I have reset the router. Subsequently, all right. Someone knows a possible reason? • When I try to connect with my wireless laptop will connect only to Local access. If I connect the laptop to the router with the ethernet cable, it works very well.

    VIsta - Local access only

    HI -.
I recently moved.   I use the same router from my old apartment and I had no problem connection in the past.   Since I moved I have a new Time Warner modem (Cisco) and the modem works fine.

The router also works very well I'm able to connect with my iPhone and IPad without any problem.

But when I try to connect with my wireless laptop, it will only connect to Local access.    If I connect the laptop to the router with the ethernet cable, it works very well.

    It's a Dell Studio 15 with Vista.

The computer is able to connect to wifi to other places without any problem, but for some reason that I can't connect home.   I tried to reset the modem and the router several times, but that did not help.   I tried the option repair & diagnose several times but it doesn't work.

I tried to look for other solutions online and tried to disable IPv6, and while it helped some and I was able to connect wireless, the computer ran so slowly that it didn't seem like a good solution.

This has been very frustrating.   Thanks in advance for any help or suggestion.
