Wireless Internet using 'unidentified network '.

Hello

I currently have a problem with my internet connection, I have a laptop Acer Aspire 5100 with 2 drives (off topic, but maybe help, one of these drives has Windows Vista OS, but the other Widows 7, now, I realized that my laptop model was or set up or designed to run on Windows 7 as the operating system but oddly work) , slowly... (It is currently using))
in any case under Windows 7, I am able to connect to my Internet very well, but when I upgrade to Windows Vista, I get this in small network icon in the taskbar:
(My network name)
Local only
I know that there is nothing wrong with my router (E900 A Linksys router) because I can connect to it just fine on Windows 7 and I know also there nothing wrong with my wireless drivers because the two BONES have Atheros AR5007EG wireless driver so the problem must be with the operating system.
I tried updating the driver, Windows, disabling updates & allowing (forgive me if I spelled that wrong) the wireless driver, but nothing seems to work, I searched on google as well, but nothing seems to work.
Can someone help me on this? Very much appreciated.

Hi jjsmoke

You can click on this link to download the drivers
http://www.filesend.NET/Download.php?
f = 5779867ddf8d211a8882eb7eb91c837e

all you have to do is extract to a folder and then update the driver from the Device Manager, referring to the path to the folder you extracted the drivers.
As soon as you update the drivers, all the questions that you have been facing would be fixed.

Please please please let me know as soon as the problem is solved

Thanks and greetings
Ranjit Menon

  • Second laptop unable to connect; When trying to connect wirelessly, says connection is successful, but the Public unidentified network, no Internet.

    Hi all.

I'm really sorry to post this question, I must have read 100 other threads on this topic, but none of the solutions seem to work for me.

I have a home set wireless network in place, which may not have a lot of problems with it that I have a laptop W7 which has a perfect wireless connection, and also our TV connect when you want, as do our phones and Xbox.

We bought a second hand Acer aspire laptop for our daughter. It is running Vista Edition family Basic. Even if she had the factory reset done on this, because we can connect to the router with an ethernet cable and it works very well, we managed to ensure that all updates of Windows etc are all complete.

When trying to connect wirelessly, it says connection successful, but it is to a Public unidentified network, and there is no Internet. Also, even if it says Local access, we cannot connect to the router settings page is.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled the built-in wireless adapter and updated the driver to do this, he says that he is as up-to-date as possible.

I checked that DHCP is enabled, we tried dynamic and static IP addresses, we have disabled and re ipv6 enabled, we used the command prompt to reset winsock and stack ip, I looked into msconfig services for service # Id_String1.6844f930_1628_4223_b5cc_5bb94b879762 # Apple off but it isn't here.

I have a real dislike for Norton / products McAfee and there is none of these on the laptop. We will install Comodo Internet Security, Eusing Registry Cleaner, Spybot S & D and Spyware Blaster as soon as the wireless is configured and that the Windows Firewall is disabled.

We also have many turns of the spin off the coast and laptops, etc. and deactivation and activation of the adapter.

It seems that all the usual solutions for the lack of connection are not the culprits this time.

Norton or McAfee pre-mstalled of recovery of the manufacturer media?

If so, did you uninstall it AND run the tool to remove the appropriate product manufacturer?

  • Problems connecting to the internet using the wireless network connection

I can't connect to the internet using my wireless network connection. I had made the diagnosis and he stated that "the DHCP is not enabled for the wireless network connection. I had checked the DHCP, but it has been activated!... Someone would give any suggestion for me to solve the problem?

Open the run command box by pressing Windows key + R, type services.msc and press enter . Search The Client DHCP and check if it is enabled or disabled. If disabled then turn it on and see if the problem still persists or not.

Open the run command box by pressing Windows key + R, type cmd , and press enter . At the command prompt, type ipconfig/all and press ENTER. Now, check the IP address, default gateway, DNS etc. If you find all the information is correct, but you cannot yet access the Internet so if you connect the wireless network is secure or not. To determine the glance to the wireless network icon in the taskbar, then click on it. It will show you the available wireless networks. If there is a "yellow shield" present on the network icon, the network is not guaranteed, if there is no "yellow shield" does while the network is secure. In a secure network, you might have a "network security key. In this case try to disable the 'Network security key' option for this network. To do this:

Open Control Panel , click network and Internet , click network and sharing Center , click manage wireless networks on the left.

In the list select the wireless network and do a right click, select Properties, Security disable tab all options that is, in security type do not select no authentication (Open) and to the type of encryption , select none . You can also activate the automatic connection and SSID settings to further enhance connectivity, on the connection tab, click to select the "connect automatically if this network is in range " and "check boxesto connect even if the network is broadcasting his name (SSID) .

For more information click here and see how you can determine whether a network is secure or not.

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/how-do-I-know-if-a-wireless-network-is-secure

If the problem still persists, then check your firewall settings and make sure that the firewall is not blocking your Internet connection. Some software Antivirus has a built-in firewall and they block by default all unknown connection to the tightening of security.

Try to restore Windows Firewall default settings. Open Control Panel click on network and Internet , click system and security , click Windows Firewall , click default settings .

Hope this will help. Thank you.

    Hi oms1957

I recommend you try these methods

    Method 1:

Reset the wireless network and make sure that you set the level of security to WPA2-Personal, as it is recommended.

Here are some links that will help you set up the wireless network

What are the different wireless network security methods?

    Method 2:

If this does not clear if installed third-party antivirus and then try to connect. If the problem is resolved, you have to uninstall the antivirus and reinstall back or check with the settings.

    Method 3:

Cycle power to the router and check if this is useful.

  • Internet connection not working is not wireless, connected to two networks

I have a problem connecting to the internet via the wireless connection. With a cable, I can connect to the home network and the internet. However with the radio, I have local access to the home network. In the network and sharing Center, it shows that I am connected to the home network but also to another unidentified network. When I click the Diagnostics button to see why there is no internet connection, he said that the problem is that there is more than one connection and that I should remove one of them. When I disconnect the network or unidentified network, they have both disconnect. I tried to reset the wireless adapter, reset the router and do a system restore and none of these worked. • Can someone help me with the problem of Vista Home Wireless (unidentified network)

I recently replaced my wireless router and now I get "Unidentified network - Local access" when you try to connect to my network.

This problem occurs only with this computer Vista Home.  (All other wireless devices have any problems (Win7 netbook, iPad, PS3, etc).)
ipconfig/all shows me a valid ip address, subnet mask and gateway also seems to have a Mac address of zero.
Norton Internet Security was installed, but I have removed and still have the same problem.

    Hello

Position of your router would be suspicious here. How you are positioned in the router? Are there
    obstacles in the path?

Actually try updating your driver and disabling the network logon.

Control Panel - network - write down of the brand and the model of the Wifi - double click top - tab of the driver - write
version - click the driver update (cannot do something that MS is far behind the pilots of certification). Then
Right click on the Wifi device and UNINSTALL - Reboot - it will refresh the driver stack.

Look at the sites of the manufacturer for drivers - and the manufacturer of the device manually.

How to install a device driver in Vista Device Manager
    http://www.Vistax64.com/tutorials/193584-Device-Manager-install-driver.html

Download - SAVE - go where you put it - right click – RUN AS ADMIN.

You can download several at once however restart after the installation of each of them.

After watching the system manufacturer, you can check the manufacturer of the device an even newer version. (The
manufacturer of system become your backup policies).

Repeat for network (NIC) card and is a good time to get the other updated drivers as Vista like
    updated drivers.

I would also turn off auto update for the drivers. If the updates Windows suggests a just HIDE as they
are almost always old, and you can search drivers manually as needed.

Make sure you know the details of connection to your wireless router - SSID and password.

You lose connection when you do and have to redo your logon.

Control Panel - Network & Sharing Center - right, click Customize - page set of network locations.
lower left click on merge or delete network locations - REMOVE all instances of your network (and the
others you don't use anymore) - REBOOT. Start - Connect To log on to the network.

  • Unidentified network, cannot connect to the internet + 169 ip address

    Hello!

I also have this annoying problem. I've seen a lot of posts similar and tried all the proposed solutions, but nothing worked.

    I have a

ZTE zxv10 w300 camera and 2 computers (a laptop and a normal pc)

There is no internet access on the computer that is not connected to the router with the cable. It can connect to this unidentified network, but not to the internet.

This is the case with both computers.

In addition, the computer that is first connected to the router with cable, will have this 169 ip address.

I could solve this problem by disabling the wireless adapter, turn off the router, and then turn on the router and activation of the adapter, but then it changed back again. On one of the computers, or both.

Any ideas what could be the problem?

Your wireless card is not connected to anything.  The lines in bold show that the wireless adapter has an IP address that is generated by 'Addressing IP private auto' (APIPA).  This is what happens when the adapter is configured to obtain an IP automatically from a DHCP server (for example, your router) but isn't able to get one, either because the DHCP server on the router does not work (not in your case), or because it is not a valid connection between the adapter and the router.

On wireless connections, it is almost always the result of a misconfigured encryption password, but it can also occur if the router is configured with a MAC filter (or any other security measure) in order to prevent the connection, or if a firewall on the computer is not properly configured.

From the network and sharing Center, click on the link 'Manage wireless networks' to get this screen:

You can do several different ways.

1 remove all wireless networks configured except a you know relate to networks other than your own, you will need to keep (for example, a wireless network at work).  Now connect to your network without wire in the usual way and carefully enter the encryption password.

    2. change the wireless network appears in the list to have the correct encryption password.

3 remove all wireless networks configured except a you know relate to networks other than your own, you will need to keep (for example, a wireless network at work).  Connect to your router with an Ethernet cable and connect to the router configuration utility.  Disable all configured for the router security measures: encryption, MAC filtering, time of day restrictions, etc.  Now connect to the network without wire in the usual way.  If it works, you can reconfigure the security measures using a router configuration utility (even if there is really no need to use anything other than the WPA2 encryption and a password).

If you are unable to connect to the router wirelessly when you have disabled all the security on the router, check third-party security software installed on your computer to see if it blocks the wireless connection.

  • Unidentified network Windows 7 Ethernet or wireless work

Question: Good so I have a computer that refuses to access the internet/local network. It just says: a Public unidentified network (which it isn't) other computers work fine ive tried to take it to a completely different network and tried to use a wireless card. No dice. Ive tried "netsh" orders, all the commands ipconfig. manual setting of the address of the network card in the advanced configuration of the network card. its an IBM all in a thinkcentre a70z and a realtek PCIe GBE adapter. Oh, I also tried the delete route 0.0.0.0, but it says that it cannot do. ive tried uninstalling the driver and put it back in place for the Web site as well as allowing windows 7 to install manually. ive tried to assign a static ip address. It drives me crazy. His car is not an address ip of the dhcp and ive manually adds the gateway address. any suggestions before I chuck this thing out the window?
I don't have the service Hello or quicktime.
I do not have a virus
I deleted all of the antivirus
    I disabled IPv6

It turns out that it was the motherboard and it had to be toggled with me.
