Wireless printer can not connect

I just purchased a WRT160n V.3 and the new firmware I have a printer wireless Lexmark x 6570 for a reason any router will not let me connect to the printer called Lexmark and they said security was put on high heat, but I have a WRT54GS with the same security as the WRT160n setting and it connects no problem I use WPA2 Personal rep Lexmark said that my router wouldn't let not the printer create a Mac address in any case around that. Thank you also I get answer weak signal when I put channel 11 that it slows down my computer, I have 3 laptops when its on Channel 9 it seems ok where do I put the Mhz FRO 20 mhz only on auto to get the benefits of speed N or if that is not advisable. Either way, I have a computer laptop N a G and an adapter for N on the last. What is G/B hardware only.

Problem solved had to delete the old router TCP/IP address and generate one for the new WRT160n. thanks for the help

  • HP Premium 8600 - using OSX 10.9.4 with wireless and don't keep saying the printer is not connected

Use the printer for a few months with no problems.  Now, out of the blue, I can't print.  Keeps telling me that "the printer is not connected" and "search for printer.  I see that the printer's system preferences.  So the printer is there. Why is this suddenly happening?

If I disable wireless to the printer and then turn it back on, I can print maybe one or two times and then get the same message.

    What is the problem here?

    Hello

Please, try unplugging your router from the power for 10 seconds, plug it back and leave 2 minutes to initialize.

Then turn your printer off and turn it back on and allow it to reconnect.

    You can see any difference?

If this isn't the case, please also restart the Mac and check for the difference.

  • HP Officejet 6500 a: printer will not connect to the wireless network.

I got this HP printer for a while and it worked fine.  Our old router is out and we had to get a new one.  Installed perfectly and printer continued to work properly.  The password for the router was ridiculous, that's why I changed it to something much more simple to remember.  Since then, my printer will not connect to wireless internet.  I have a ~ and reinstalled the printer but still have the same problem.  I thought maybe to try the former password would, but who does not work either.

Anyone has any ideas that might help before chuck it and go and get a new one altogether?

    Thank you.

Easy things first.  Turn off the router and the printer.  Turn on the router and wait 3 minutes.  Turn on the printer and see if it connects to your router.  Status?

If no joy, temporarily disable all security in the router.  Now try to connect the printer to your SSID not guaranteed without password.  Status now?

If OK, go back and add WPA2-AES with your simple password.  Status now?

  • new router and can not connect wireless

Installed a new router that has changed my a WEP to a WPA2 security. I connected to the printer (7410) via ethernet cable and changed the security settings, but the printer will not connect to my router. I'm printing directly connected ethernet cable on the router. When I try to use the interface of the printer to cinnect to the router the only option that appears is WEP.

    Any ideas?

Thanks it worked perfectly for me!  Sorry, your options appear on the screen for you, but they did it for me.

Just make sure you change your new router wireless to the first WAP and it should work fine.  No need to reinstall any software or drivers as some previous posts said.

Go to: network, Wireless Setup Assistant, (I had to scroll down to the second page to find where to enter my new network name) and enter the new network name configured on the router.  I changed my network name of the WAP2 name that I had originally put in place, so it was easier to distinguish that one has on the WAP.  Enter your WAP password and you should be good to go.

I use a wireless router Netgear on a Windows XP operating system.

You must configure your firewall correctly.

What exactly is the error message?  Make sure that it does not ask your network SSID password?

  • I have been connected to the internet (wireless), then I unplugged the router and now I can not connect to internet. I tried diagnose the problem, but he said that he could not.

I have a wireless internet connection for my laptop. I was connected to the internet, and it worked very well, so I had to unplug my router and all of a sudden I can't connect to the internet more. When I open the available networks, I hit connect on mine and he said: it does not work then I hit "diagnose the problem" and then, he says he can't. Also it is not even give me the option to set my password to connect to my network, but it does when I try to connect to any other.

I suggest to unplug all your network cables and unplug the adapter from your modem AND router. ONLY plug your modem back power adapter in. Wait until you get a steady green light on your router, which indicates that it is ready. Then, connect the ethernet cable from your modem to your router INTERNET port. Connect the ethernet cable from your computer to any other ETHERNET port on your router. Finally turn the monitor for your router.

If you do not do so in this order, the router can not connect properly to the internet because it doesn't have the correct IP address of your modem.

  • Want 4500: I get a message saying that the "the printer is not connected.

I just bought a HP Envy 4500 all in one printer.

I can't print to it without having to restart it every time.

I get a message saying that the "the printer is not connected.

I can access the built-in web server, so I am sure that it is connected.

It seems that he is going to sleep but cannot be awoken by activity.

I checked network settings changed and tried to change the Hello Service of priority higher to 9100 (because the default Internet Printing Protocol) seems odd, but makes no difference.

The State indicates that the power of the wireless signal is 5 - that sounds just because it's six feet from my PC that has a great wireless signal.

I uninstalled and reinstalled the printer.

The restart is only viable if the printer is restarted and sent instantly - work if you wait a few minutes (energy saving option is set to 15 minutes and it's inside that) is the same thing - the said printer dialogus "Opening conection printer" and then, almost immediately, "the printer is not connected.

If I try to scan I get an error-9923

    Hi @jpkeates,

    Welcome to the HP Forums!

I understand that you can not print with your HP Envy 4500, once he falls asleep on your computer Mac OS X 10.11. I'm happy to help you!

Please, try the steps in this guide, "printer offline" or "printer not responding" Message (OS X). It is also important to ensure that:

Make sure that the multicast is supported

If you use a wireless network, make sure that muticasting is supported and enabled on your router.

If the new connection is working, you know that the printing problem is tied to the computer.

If the new connection does not work, then the printer may need to be repaired or printed using a different type of connection.

    Disable IPv6 (network connection)

Disable IPv6 on the printer to make sure IPv4 is used on your network.

If your printer has a control panel with display, find the IPv6 settings in the advanced network configuration menu and set it to Off or disabled.

If your printer does not display, use the built-in web server (EWS) to disable IPv6.

From a computer on your network, type the IP address of the printer in the field URL of your Internet browser.

    NOTE:

If the Web page appears empty, try another Internet browser.

Click on the tab network or network, and then open the section or page corresponding to your type of network - wired or wireless.

Select enable IPv4 only (or similar).

  • Printer will not connect

Time Warner gave me a new modem, and now I can not connect my printer Brother wireless network. The router is connected to my destop and I can't connect it (IP 192.168.1.1) from the desktop. However, I can login to my devices (iPhone, iPad, computer laptop). If I enter the IP 192.168.0.1, it opens my cable modem.

Brother says that I have to reset the printer network adapter. They told me to connect an ethernet cable from the printer to the router, get an IP address from the printer, open a browser, enter the IP address and press ENTER. I got a valid IP (192.168.1.6), but the Web management screen brother does not open. IE9 says it cannot display the page and Firefox Mozilla says it has expired. Brother, says that the printer works as it should. The problem is in the router.

My printer gateway IP is 192.168.1.1.

Is there a way to get the printer connected?

    Howard

P.S. I am running Vista. Old computer and old router. Probably in time to get a new computer.

    Elaine,

Thanks for your reply. I solved this. For some reason, my network does not recognize my printer on my desk. I have connected a USB cable from the desktop computer to the printer and print. My network recognizes my printer from my laptop. My printer print wireless from my laptop. My office is eight years old, probably has something to do with it.

  • Photosmart 6510 "the printer could not connect to the server.

    Hi all.

Just try to find this sorted hope someone can help.

I am able to print irelessly of all our devices with no problems at all.

However, when I click on the control panel applications he repeats me "the printer could not connect to the verification of the server of the internet connection and try again or enter a proxy address.

I use an Imac with airport wifi router.

Doing a search in the forums and on the manuals troble shooting pages, nothing seems to work.

    Thanks in advance.

Let's define an external static IP and DNS address for the printer:

-Print a the front of the printer Network Setup Page. Note the IP address of the printer.
-Enter the IP address in a browser to reveal the internal settings of the printer.
-Choose the network tab, then wireless along the left side, then on the IPv4 tab.
-On this screen, you want to set a manual IP address. You must assign an IP address outside the range that the router sets automatically (called the DHCP range). Yours is 10.0.1.2 a.200.  We use 10.0.1.220 for your printer.
-Apply the subnet 255.255.255.0 (unless you know it's different, if so, use it)
-Enter the IP of your router (on the Page of the Network Config) for the gateway.
-Enter for the first DNS 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 for second DNS. It's Google DNS. You can choose a different external DNS if you wish.
    -Click 'apply '.

Now, stop the router and printer, start the router, wait, and then start printing.

After that, you will have to redo 'Add printer' using the new IP address.
