Wireless printing to a printer via linksys router.

OK, let's go.

I have a MBPro, OS X 10.6.2 connected wireless to a Linksys wrt300n, a Dell 2400 XP Professional desktop computer, connected via RJ45 to the same router and a HP Office Jet 6310 all in one, connected via RJ45 to the same Linksys router.

My problem is that I can't print wireless from laptop.

The devices can ping each other (so Im assuming they can all the commmunicate, and it isn't a firewall problem). The laptop sees the printer, it can connect to it, see the functions of administrator, he can see the power levels and network configuration settings, it can not all just print anything. The laptop can print when you set up as a standard printer (not wireless, but wired). When I add it as a wireless printer, it says 'network host ' 192.168.1.101' is busy. retrying in 10 seconds".

I contacted Linksys and they do not feel it is a problem of router, so I wonder if this is the way Im set up the printer (configuration, c, PPI vrs DLP).

Can anyone help?

Thank you

Ok... I figured it didn't off... no need to answer. I noticed that there was another protocol to use to set up the printer on Mac, I was using LPD, so I switched it to HP Jet Direct-plug, and it prints fine... Thank you. I'm curious to know why wouldn't LPD; If someone has that answer, I'd like to know... Thank you

A question, I thought that can be a problem, is that two computers use the same port (9100) even if I started adding the printer, while the laptop was on and Windows seemed to correctly identify it.

My setup real basis is:
Canon of general
Location: http://192.168.1.1:631/printers/CANON
Model: Canon iP4300 (this changes a little when I used different drivers)
NB: Don't know if this helps, but I can't change ' paper available:' default > no matter what I do with the printer preferences?
Sharing is off

Security... I did all what I can in an attempt to make sure there is no robbery here.

AND as stated above... it all works very well from the laptop.

So, any suggestions?

From time to time my printer HP PSt + B210 indicates not 'online' in the window of the printer utility and do not print.

I have spend hours to review what I did in th past and become confused.

Should I start with the HP utility and make sure that my printer is listed only once in the queue (as is sometimes show 2 forms - for the same printer) OR should I stop MAC PB > router > Modem and then restart in correct, reverse order?

Given that I need to choose "IP automatically...". ", I used Safari and put the 192.168.1.1 in the address bar and follow these steps, as already suggested. What would be the clear measures to reconnect my HP printer status online? Thank you very much!!

We will set an IP address of the printer:

-Print a the front of the printer Network Setup Page. Note the IP address of the printer.
-Enter the IP address in a browser to reveal the internal settings of the printer.
-Choose the network tab, then wireless along the left side, then on the IPv4 tab.
-On this screen, you want to set a manual IP address. You must assign an IP address outside the range that the router sets automatically (called the DHCP range). You can find the beach DHCP from the router using its internal settings page or in its manual. Use the CD that came with your router or type the IP address of the router (ends para.1) in a browser.
-Apply the subnet 255.255.255.0 (unless you know it's different, if so, use it)
-Enter the IP of your router (on the Page of the Network Config) for the bridge and the first DNS. Let the second white.
-Click 'apply '.

Now, stop the router and printer, start the router, wait, and then start printing.

After that, you will have to redo 'Add printer' using the new IP address.

Thanks for the video, which has been most useful.

I suspect that the router can be not broadcast the Hello Protocol as it did in the past. To resolve this problem, please follow the instructions below.

1. Out of the router, unplug the power cable
2. Out of the printer, unplug the power cable
3. Stop the Mac
4. Give up everything for 1 minute and then reconnect the router
5. Once sighted routers are on, reconnect the printer to the
6. When the wireless printer is solid, turn on the Mac
7. Now try to add the printer that you had previously, you should now see the Hello or Hello printer multifunction beside him.

If this does not resolve the problem, it could be the printer. Follow the steps below.

On the front panel of the printer, the arrow down to settings, then press OK. Down arrow for wireless and press OK. In the wireless menu, go to IPV6 and turn it off. Once IPV6 is disabled, try to add the printer in the preferences system again.

• OfficeJet pro 8620: HP 8620 won't print via wireless for nay on my home mac

I have 2 Macs in my home, Macbook, and Macbook Pro running Yosemite. I tried to implement a pro 7310 office via an ethernet cable printer to print wireless from these two macs and after 3 frustrating months trying everything that I could find, I bought the 8620 thought that would solve everything.

Instead, it's the same. I am trying to print from firefox or word or anything and it cannot find the printer. But if I turned off everything, including the Mac and the router (N of Belkin N300 router wirleless) and the computer and then turn them back on, the printer is detectable and prints well. It just seems to disappear and I can't find it when searching for available printers after a few hours. I installed the last softeare for this printer and it worked when fine forst, implemented.

Any help would be greatly appreciated that I spent way too many hours trying to figure this, it doesn't help that I'm not that tech savy.

Thank you!

Hello @bokke ,

Welcome to the HP forum.

I understand that you are having problems of communication between your two Macs and your 8620.

I would like to help.

Three things have caught my attention.

You said that this is happening to both computers.

You also mentioned that the same thing happened to another model of printer.

Finally, after you power cycle your network everything works. At least for a little while.

I feel that we should seek less software and more to your network.

Belkin N300 wireless N Router, how old is this router?

How is the printer to the router?

Your router should have the following configuration

~ The multicast must be on or enabled (allows connectivity Hello)

~ Wireless Ports, they can also be frozen in security software:

The incoming (UDP) ports: 137, 138, 161, 427

Outgoing (TCP) ports: 137, 139, 427, 9100, 9220, 9500

~ Our printers support only the 2.4 GHz not 5 GHz

~ Recommended that the network name and password DO NOT containing and spaces/punctuation or special characters ~ Dual Radio enabled (for b/g wireless & networks n)

~ Mac disabled filtering

~ The built-in firewall must be the default or the lower settings

This should solve the problem.

PORTS TO UNLOCK.

UDP: 137, 138, 161, 427, 80 & 443

TCP: 137, 139, 427, 9100, 9220, 9500, 5222 5223

So please make sure that multicast & Hello are enabled. Also never hurts to check for an update of the firmware.

• Unable to connect a wireless printer with laptop computer since the reset wireless router

I have a wireless HP C4580 printer that connects to my Acer Aspire laptop using windows 7. The two have worked together very well for months. My wireless router stopped working a few days ago, so I had to unplug the device to make it work again is it. But since then, I can't get my lap top to communicate with the printer now.
I went all the problem of shooting and insured the printer is on line and set it as default printer. I even did a system restore, as suggested in the troubleshooting
With the help of the program are the two messages that I get now troubleshooting
1 that the C4500 series can be contacted via the network (this is the message that I had before the restoration also)
2 the C4500 series is not shared with the homegroup

All the tips are greatly appreciated in progressive simple language as possible as I am a bit useless with computers

I assume that the printer is all first directly connected on the router, then the laptop? Access the router and make sure that the printer is listed as a "wireless client" connection If this isn't the case, you should probably restore the wireless "link" between the printer and the router then the printer should work.

• HP7310 wireless printing with a new laptop & Vista and existing wireless router?

I just started to the top of my new laptop running Vista and have an existing HP all in one single 7310 and router wireless. I don't know what I have to do this printer works wirelessly. After talking with sales of HP, they tried to upsell me to "Wireless G Print Server" for a new printer. retailers say all I need is an adapter USB; I don't know what else I need this sunrise a race? Can anyone help?

If your printer and router are close to each other, I would recommend via ethernet to your printer to your router connection. Then follow these instructions.

If you need to connect the printer to the wireless router, because they are in different rooms, you can use a wireless print server, but I'm not sure it is worth the money and the headaches - just get a new printer wireless - IMHO, of course.

Here's what finally worked.

1 had to withdraw from old installation CD but Uninstall selected, so I completely shut down the computer. Guy at Best Buy said to "remove the device" but it was not enough.

Hello

Based on the following link, the printer doesn't have a wireless card so you can't use only a router to make wireless unless your router is also a print server, in this case, it is not.

Hello

To help you to propose measures to solve the problem, I would appreciate if you could answer the following question:

1. what version of Windows operating system is installed on the computer?

2 successful wireless connection configuration?

3. do you receive an error message or error code when trying to print?

In the meantime, I suggest to add the device on the network and check if that does the trick. To do this, follow these items:
