  • Satellite Pro A60: Wireless router Questions

    Hi all
I am a novice computer, sorry for my lack of knowledge. I just bought a BT Voyager router for Satellite Pro A60 mt, but can't seem to make it work!

I was told that my Sat Pro has a built-in wireless inbulit receiver? (If yes how I turn it on?)
When I conect the router to the phone line saying all the lights on the router everything is ok... but when I try to go to the line, NOTHING!

Please can someone help me... ???

    Hello

I checked the properties of the Satellite Pro A60 and it seems that the WiFi card is optional on this unit.
In this case, you should check in Device Manager if the minPCI wireless network card is properly installed on your machine.
On the right side of the laptop, you will find a switch ON / OFF wireless. If the wireless network adapter is enabled, the led at the front lights.

Now something on the router. Each WLan router typically has an own software installation package. There should also be an instruction how to manage the router.
You should check the router instruction

  • Try to install Net Gear Wireless router to work with my laptop. It keeps telling me that my domain name is a question.

I'M TRYING TO INSTALL A WIRELESS ROUTER FOR MY LAPTOP, THE ROUTER IS NETGEAR, I ALWAYS GET TO THE POINT CONNECTING DOMAIN IS THE ISSUE.

I think you've got the third-party software installed on your laptop to configure the wireless adapter. Third-party software seems to have disabled the Wireless Zero Configuration (WZC) Microsoft service. You will need to reactivate it.

Follow the steps below to activate the automatic configuration on your laptop.

    1. Click Start, click Run, type % SystemRoot%\system32\services.msc/s, and then click OK.

    2. double-click on Wireless Zero Configuration.

    3. in the startup type list, click Automatic, and then clickApply.

    4. in the Service status area, click Start, and then click OK.

Software configuration of certain wireless adapters removes the automatic configuration service. If this is the case, you can try this fix by changing the registry value.

WARNING: Editing the registry can be dangerous, use it at your own risk.

    1. click on start - run and type reg. And then click OK.

    2. browse this registry key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE es\WZCSVC

    3. next, create a DWORD value and name it 'Start' and set it to 2.

  • The question of the Access Point wireless router

I am considered to be an amateur when there are routers so patient with me. I have a wireless router in my office and two workstations are hardlined (ethernet cable-joint) to the router. Then, in the living room, I have 3 devices (Xbox, BlueRay, directTV) I want on the network. Rather than running three office ethernet cables, I expect to have some sort of (reverse hotspot) where a device could hop on the wireless router and the signal I inflexible at these three devices. Not sure if this would require an Access Point or another wireless router?

    Any thoughts would be appreciated.

I suggest that you try to find something on WET54GS5... is a bridge with 5 ports wireless if I'm not mistaken... but since it's under Cisco Small Business, I suggest you could ask more about it here

Or you can see WET54G and buy a separate so you switch can accommodate other devices

    Hello HP Support Forums users,

I have a question about setting up a wireless router. I was wondering if it was possible to put in place, without going through a modem. Currently, I connect to the internet by plugging a cable Ethernet, CAT5 port on my wall, and then plug the cable on the side of my laptop. Right now I have a disabled and I need my laptop to be able to spend my small office. So, is it possible to configure a WiFi router without a modem?

Yes, simply plug the CAT5 Ethernet cable into the WAN or Internet port on the wireless router.  That's what Verizon for their FIOS service.

  • Wireless router no internet has caused

I installed a wireless Belkin on my Windows XP Home, SP3 computer run my download using "Network Setup Wizard", but when I accecced the internet has dropped some 40 MBS to 7 MBS and the download speed is comparable.
Then I unplugged the router/modem cables and reconnected the cables to the modem to the computer. But, when I tried to access the internet, I had "server not found". I guess Windows thinks that the router is connected.
Device Manager and connections network showed: Linksys Wireless - G PCI adapt, Marvel Yukon 88E8056 PCI-E Gigabit Ethernet Controller and 1394 Net adapt, but not Belkin. I couldn't find Belkin by using the search.
I resorted to using System Restore to fix my problem. The restored date shows the same information as the current date Device Manager.
My question is how can I restore the current date without the problem of access to the internet?

  • Unable to connect encrypted wireless router.

    System:

    XP Professional version 2002 SP2.

    Intel wireless wifi link 4965AG.

    Here's my question:

At one point, the wireless router had no security encryption and I could access without worries.

In my absence router security has been formatted and now I can't access. Located keys and input for connection - no joy. Router error message is out of scope (showing full signal strength - I should mention that 3 others in my office can connect without a problem and I have no problem connecting to my home wireless with WEP encryption).

Open 'show the wireless connection' then open advance settings.

Click on 'general tab' and make sure that the IP address and DNS have the value 'Auto '.

Click on "wireless networks" and manually add the router. WPA2-personal network authentication and AES data encryption (this information has been lifted of my colleagues who has no problems PC connection). Therefore, I set up my PC as WPA - PSK (no option for WPA2-Personal) and AES and enter the correct key.

I checked the box 'automatically connect when range' and approved my way. Still no connection. Clicked on signal connect manually and get "Please wait...". "but nothing happens - no error either.

I tried any variation in the encryption of data and authentication and verified/double concievable checked the key but nothing helped.

    DOE anyone have ideas?

    See you soon.

The problem is that your network is WPA2 and your PC does not support WPA.

You must install Windows XP SP3, which adds support for WPA2.  See this article:http://support.microsoft.com/kb/322389

  • Linksys wireless router is not my new Motorola modem Internet access

I am relatively new to setting up home networks, so it's maybe a stupid question but I'm stuck! I bought a new modem Motorola (SurfBoard 1621) as my old Motorola modem was not favorable to the increase of the speed offered by Comcast. The modem I bought was a model recommended by their web site. They recorded the new modem last night and I can access the Internet when the PC is connected directly to the modem, but not when the laptop is connected to my Linksys wireless router. (Sorry, I don't know the model because it is at home and I'm at work!) Is there something I should do for the router to recognize the new modem? The router recognizes the wireless laptop, but it can not connect to the Internet.

Thanks a lot in advance for your help.

Success! Thanks a lot for your answer. My router is a WRT - 54G links.

The instructions were very informative, although I have a suggestion. Just restart the modem and the router did not work. I had to reboot other equipment in my system (a NetGear firewall and a level switch 5 ports) and the router and the modem. I would like to see the reboot of reference tracking "and other devices. I guessed the appropriate power of sequence (modem, firewall, switch, router, computer), and fortunately, it worked.

Again, thank you for your quick response.

  • Maybe wireless router not working only not with the new laptop.

I have a Cisco's Linksys wireless router. I got it for about 2 or 3 years. We bought after we bought our old laptop with Windows 7, but we have a new laptop with Windows 8. Now after about a month or two after that, we had this new laptop, the router started to turn on / turn off. What this has to do with Windows 8? I have to update the drivers of my router?

Fine thank you. You answered a question I had. Now, I'll go find similar questions we have answered about the light that turns orange and stops flashing. Thank you once again.

  • Connectivity of the wireless router problem

I have a Cisco's Linksys WRT160N wireless router.  After it is up and running, all my wireless devices work fine.  My sons Wii for my laptop, my wifes iPod Touch. But the strangest thing is happening.  I have problems connecting to the internet with my desktop computer that is hard wired to the linksys router.

Often I can connect any... other times it's quite slow compared to when I plug my office directly to a cable modem.  Finally, sometimes certain aspects of the Web page will appear while others won't.

Question: Is damaged?  Or is there something that I am missing.  You would think it would be right forweard enough... OH, I have also replaced the cables from the desktop to the router and have already done all the reboot that I care to do as well as redo the ip address in the part of the repair of my control panel.

    Any ideas?

Access the Page of configuration of your router and lower the MTU size of the router to Auto/1500 to 1400.
