  • Addition of a VLSM subnet to an existing design

    Hello!

I'm studying for my CCENT exam and practical this question in the book warning stumble me.  I'm starting to think that it's a typo.

The problem relates to the addition of a subnet to an existing model.  The current design already has these five subnets:

    10.0.0.0/24

    10.0.1.0/25

    10.0.2.0/26

    10.0.3.0/27

    10.0.6.0/28

The boss can't decide among five competitors subnet masks to be used for this new next subnet to add to the internetwork.  However, the boss wants you to practice VLSM and plan ID subnet he would use for each of these four possible masks.  It tells you that the new subnet ID should be part of the 10.0.0.0 network, class A, which the new subnet should not overlap with the original five subnets, and the new subnet ID must be the ID of possible subnet numerically lowest (without breaking other rules).  Choose a subnet ID that you can plan to use based on the following mask.

    / 22

The answer guide says it's 10.0.8.0/22 as the new numerically lower number of subnet that does not overlap with the existing subnets.  However; It's confusing to me because it seems that the correct answer must be 10.0.4.0/22, because it does not overlap with any of the existing subnets and is a subnet of lower than 10.0.8.0/22.

Let me know if you need more information on this.  Thanks to you all!

    10.0.4.0/22 includes:

    • 10.0.4.0/24
    • 10.0.5.0/24
    • 10.0.6.0/24
    • 10.0.7.0/24

    Who rides with 10.0.6.0/28.

  • Help!  Can I add an additional field to an existing PDF form?

I have an existing PDF I created from a Word Doc and have made this PDF file in a form with many drop-down list fields, specially formatted fields, fields, ect.

Now I need to add another field of this form (i.e. a table "office use only"), however I don't want to do it in the Word Doc, convert to PDF and then having to recreate the PDF form from scratch, I did a huge amount of work, the creation of all fields in the form.

Is there a way I can make the necessary changes to my Word Doc, covert, he to a new PDF and then merge to my existing PDF, while keeping all the form fields is just to add an additional field that and as I can then turn it into form fields?

I already tried - to create the table in Word, print screen, save it in JPEG format and insert into my existing PDF.  The picture is not as crispy as it should be and looks like a ' add to ' I don't really want to.

The table I want to insert has formatting special meets a company style guide, so I really need to create it in Word to keep the required formatting.

    HELP PLEASE!

    Hi jlgrobbelaar,

Yes, you can use the Replace Pages to keep all the form fields and scripts, as they are now in your original PDF.  Here is a tutorial on the use of Pages - replace

    https://acrobatusers.com/tutorials/how-to-replace-the-background-pages-in-a-PDF-form

If you add your new field/area to the form results in changes of layout for the form then you may need to move the fields in place, but it's better than having to add everywhere.

    Hope this helps,

    Dimitri

  • Adding an additional CASE to an existing deployment of NAC OOB 4.7.3

    Hi guys,.

If I am to add the certificate self-produced my new cases to the authorities of my CAM list existing certificate approved, it just will be added or it will replace the existing trusted certificate?

    Hi Adrien,.

"Certification authorities" are the certificate of all the CAs root and also self signed certs of the trusts of the CAM case. So whenever you add a root/selfsigned certificate to this list, it is added to the list and does not replace any of the CERT. This link gives more information:

  • Addition of wireless routers in series with the existing network

I have a client who wants to add at least 3 Wireless throughout their existing network routers. The problem is that these routers must be in the same subnet as the existing network. Oh, we use routers Linksys WRT610N. By default, routers set up a new subnet with a DHCP assigned IP of the primary subnet. I was able to change the static WAN IP, but I do not know how to configure the rest. The point of this is that if a user connected via the ethernet cable or wireless signal, they should be able to access the same network resources. I chatted with support, but they are not allowed to help what it isn't is not a "standard" configuration Anyone can shed some light on this subject? I've done this before with another customer, but its been a few years and it's a different router.

    Thank you!

You don't want a router. You want a wireless access point. You have wireless routers that you do not use as routers, but only as access points. A router by definition routes traffic between several subnets connected to the various interfaces (LAN and WAN). This kind of configuration is not what the WRT is built for and that's why support said you that it is not a standard configuration for a WRT.

You can use a WRT as simple access point.

Reconfigure the router via its web interface. Connect a computer to the router first.

    1. set the LAN IP address on a free IP address in the existing network.
    2. make sure NOT to set a static IP address on the type of internet connection.
    3. on the main configuration page turn off the DHCP server.
    4. now save the settings. You will lose the connection.
    5. unplug the computer and one of the numbered LAN ports of wire to your existing network.

Now you can access the web interface of the WRT to the new LAN IP address. All wired to the other 3 LAN ports and everything wirelessly connected has access to the network directly.

Any help would be really appreciated.

    Thank you

    Hi Shaamcisco,

    Please follow these steps:

Step 1: I guess you have already add subnet extra if not just add it in the Setup--> network and then add additional subnet and for better application for the subnet better having like this example if you have the default network 192.168.1.1/24 Add second subnet 192.168.2.1/24 in this case in the VPN setup we can make the summary of subnet and is 192.168.0.0/16 class B and all the PC connected to the router should have Gateway 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.2.1 in my example of course

Step 2: Under VPN--> Summary--> Edit the old configuration for VPN client and change of the LAN 192.168.0.0 mask 255.255.0.0

Step 3: on the Shrew VPN also under policy--> remote network resource change to 192.168.0.0 255.255.0.0

with this client configuration can have access to these two subnet and if you want to restrict certain client to access a subnet just change the policy on the ShrewVPN of one of the subnet

  • RV042G Portmapping to different subnets

    Hello!

    We have the following situation:

    172.16.0.0 / 255.255.248.0 network

the RV042G has an IP address of 172.16.7.254 with subnet 255.255.255.0

    We have added an additional subnet/IP: 172.16.0.254 / 255.255.248.0

We want only 1 port WAN portmapping several subnets in our local network.

    Example:

    Address WAN: 84.44.33.11

SERVICE: RDP_TO_SERVER_01-online external port: 3389; internal port: 3389; internal IP address: 172.16.0.44

SERVICE: RDP_TO_SERVER_02-online external port: 3399; internal port: 3390; internal IP address: 172.16.3.150

SERVICE: HTTP_TO_SERVER_03-online external port: 8555; internal port: 80; internal IP address: 172.16.7.51

The portforwarding and portmapping does not an external address.

In the past, we used the RV042G with a single subnet (192.168.0.1/255.255.255.0). But now, we have expanded our network to a network 172.16.x.x and portforwarding/mapping/UPNP does not work with the current settings.

Please, help us to accomplish the above.

    Kind regards

    Martin

    Hi Martin,

Yes RV0xx traversed NAT on its default network, I can confirm this.

For One to One NAT cannot help, firstly because we have a single WAN and does not allow it to NAT one-to-one, secondly even if we have two public IP addresses we can NAT the second only to the value default network not the additional subnet.

Martin is my opinion and my suggestion just because I can not have all the information about your network, therefore:

In conclusion: I see two solution, or you migrate the server to the default network and let the extra for internet connection or other subnet think if you care about the DHCP, you can have DHCP external regarding the example Microsoft server or our Sx300 switch or 500 series that had fully implemented DHCP features.

Second Solution is to have another such ISA500 router where Vlan not support as Port of RV042 service Vlan and guests you can get your condition.

Hope that I was clear on my explanation, please do not hesitate to contact also FRO a pre-sales questions and you can expose your need and we can help you

    Thank you

    Best regards

  • Error when adding new subnet for CSM group

    Hello

I'm trying to add a new subnet to an existing group in the CSM v4.0.1 b7823 company.  When you add a new subnet to the Group (the other elements of the group is a different subnet), CSM emits several errors for each SAA touched:

    Description:

BB (GROUPNAME), referenced by the 'Http network' on maps (DEVICENAME) device to multiple network IP addresses!

    Cause:

Made http refers to a network object that corresponds to more than one IP address on the device

    Action:

Please config the policy with the network object that resolves to a single IP address.

There is an error for ICMP as well.  The group is already a /24subnet content, I don't think it's a clear mistake.  Has anyone encounter this?

    Thank you very much.

    Justin

    Hi Justin,

what you observe is normal given the way in which we have set up the remote access policy. As you probably know, in cli, you can specify only one rule of access by line for ssh, http, telnet etc...

For example, if you want to allow ssh access to ASA lines host 1.1.1.1 and 2.2.2.2 you put two

    SSH 2.2.2.2 255.255.255.255 outside

    SSH 1.1.1.1 255.255.255.255 outside

The CSM, we model this two lines as two different object, so the building of network type block object that refers to the object of type ssh access can have only one entry. This behavior is the same for ICMP as well.

Access list is different because we model to the CSM in a different way, plus you can use the object-group put on different networks. It is not possible to access to the device.

I hope that gave you an overview a little more on the reason

Also it would be nice to score this answer if this is the case

  • change the SSID

    Hello

I was asked to rename the current SSID (data, voice, Fords 1) because they have weird names. We have 3 controllers (4402) and ~ 55 APs.

Above all and change the SSID name for the particular WLAN want to ensure that customers will be able to reconnect correctly using the new SSID.

First of all, I guess I have to disable the WIFI network to be able to change it.

Can someone let me know if you need other things to consider as well as potential problem?

    Thank you

    Krisztián

    Hello

You can't cange the name of an existing SSID SSID.

If you want to use the different SSID name you will need to create a new SSID with the new name and your copy of case all existing SSID SSID settings.

Regarding the current SSID, you can disable or simply delete if you no longer have to use it.

But remember that this means that all clients associated with the previous SSID will be disconnected and will need to associate the new SSID.

    HTH,

    Tiago

  • VPN Site to Site Secret shared and can co-exist RADIUS authenticated VPN?

    Hello

I have a setup VPN site to site between two offices on 515Es PIX (v.6.2 software) and has recently added a vpngroup/shared secret based VPN remote access to one of the offices. Given that just forced me to add a number of different policies to my existing crypto card, it was a plant direct and easily implemented. For more security, I want to use a RADIUS server to give to each remote user their own connections and profiles rather than a group on all password is configured. To do this, however, it seems that I have to add the following additional commands to my existing crypto card:

client configuration address map mymap crypto initiate

client card crypto mymap RADIUS authentication

These do not correspond to the policy number (my site-to-site is 10, and remote access policy is political 20), so I don't know what the effect would be if I added the. It would cause my connection from site to site for authentication RADIUS request (a very bad thing)? If so, do I need another interface to bind a new encryption card to? The answer to this would be greatly appreciated!

Also, if anyone knows an example configuration for a similar configuration, I can look at, please let me know! Thank you.

    -A.Hsu

For the site to site connection, you change line isakmp keys and add the parameters of "No.-xauth No.-config-mode" at the end of this one, which tells the PIX not to do the auth RADIUS or assign an IP address, etc. for the specific site-to-site tunnel.

    Example of config is here:

    http://www.Cisco.com/warp/public/110/37.html

Note that there is no command options I have just said, I just sent an email to the web guys to fix this. Basically, your config will look with the options "No.-xauth No.-config-mode" on the line «isakmp x.x.x.x key...» "for LAN-to-LAN tunnel.

  • Impossible to get to the beach for additional IP addresses on IPSec Site to Site VPN

    Hello
I am trying to set up a free IPSec Site to Site VPN between an ASA 5510 (ASA Version 8.2 (3)) to the AC and a Cisco 877 (12.4 (24) T3) to a branch.

At the end of the branch, I have the 192.168.244.0/24 subnet.
At the end of HQ, I have the 172.16.0.0/22 and the 10.0.0.0/8 subnets
The inside interface of the ASA at Headquarters is 172.16.0.15/22

When installing VPN Wizard I ticked the box NAT - T, and I included the additional subnet in the list of protected LANs.

I can sucessfully all the subnets 172.16.0.0/22 but not access anything in the 10.0.0.0/8 subnets.
The Packet Trace ASA tool shows the traffic inside the interface of 172.16.0.0/22 in the direction of 192.168.244.0/24 through the outside interface properly spend, but the 10.0.0.0/8 does not work. He gives no precise information why the 10.0.0.0/8 traffic is dropped.

I suspect it might have something to do with NAT?
