  After the last MS update for office my desktop shortcut icons that go to Web sites do not work... they open MS FrontPage? The shortcuts that installed programs work very well... only those who are open to something on the internet are affected and open the front cover.  I did a system restore and the shortcuts work now but I can't install updates.  What happened twice with the two latest Office updates... I have office 2010.  Updates did not affect my laptop that has the same programs installed, just my counter top.

  P.S. I have 2 laptops running XP sp3, one is 9 years old and the other is 11 years old, he had 2000 top PRO, but I just put XP sp3 on it last month. They run too much like fields. I take good care of my computers with a little help from my friend IT. They have the same programs as this one and I do the same things to them, but they do not have this same problem with the release of the MSRT tool. Which leads me to think that it is specific to Vista only, I have a Windows 7 computer yet, so I can't speak for seven.

  I can no longer use Firefox with all my saved bookmarks and familiarity that Norton Security programs I got Comcast no longer work with Firefox. Whenever I use it, it says that my safety is compromised. I don't have any protection.   For me at least, the question is now irrelevant. Apparently the built-in popup date picker that any serious web developers will not want, is here to stay.

  The only option now is to remove the type = "date" attribute of input fields where you want to call a date picker custom. Instead, you must define the field type = "text" and call the datePicker custom for fields with a specific class name.

  My father has a windows pc 8, he couldn't come up with it, didn't like the layout so it remained offshore for 12 months, I had used windows 10 on my pc and thought he would he then ran compatibility test happened, tried to update first to windows 8.1 and then to 10.  His PC would not be updated, I checked update history and it was never updated even if it has been set to auto update.  Tried different update patches and thought he was working but stuck at 18% and remained there for 36 hours.  So I downloaded the updates for Windows 8.1 and hand down them, most says invalid file, but it must be windows 8.1 was nothing that trouble with blue screens with a sad face and would not always up to date.  I wiped the hard drive and installed win 8 using floppies for installation supplied with the pc, it would not be updated.  Spotted a copy of windows 8.1 in a supermarket for £15, wiped the pc again and installed windows 8.1 the new drive and it does not always update tried again fixes various, says that everything is running but still not updated.  What a bios or motherboard problem?
