  • How to access Windows 8 PC on the Internet with remote desktop connection?

    Hello

Can someone tell me how to access Windows 8 PC on the Internet with remote desktop connection?

I'm good with the software and I have used many Microsoft software since the 1980s. So I like Microsoft products, but since they have outsourced their tech support, you can't support quality even if you pay for it. I followed all the instructions in the Windows 8 will help about DRC setting screens, but I can't connect unless I'm on the same home network. Here are the details:

I have a desktop PC with Windows 8 Pro and I have authorized the DRC. I tried two settings in system properties:

    1. Allow connections to this computer remotely.
    2. That allow the connection of computers running Office remotely with authentication NLA.

I also turned on both private and Public Windows Firewall settings > allow an App or feature through Windows Firewall.

I have installation then DRC to my laptop with Windows 8 (standard edition, not the Pro version). I have a DRC using the full name of the computer and other DRC using the static IP address for my ISP Desktop connection.

I use the user account administrator Windows for connections of DRC of the laptop.

I cannot get this to work on the Internet from a location outside my house with another ISP connection. The only way it works if I'm uncomfortable with the laptop using the same network home.

I called Dell tech support and it is always useless and just a more aggravating waste of an hour to talk to their support of technique outsourced in India (who barely even understand English) and then they hang up the phone as it was supposed to be disconnected. I also called Microsoft support and lost more than an hour to speak to their outsourced tech support in the Philippines (and as support of the India, they hang up or 'disconnect' when they cannot answer your question and they go account learn you more about Windows while they do). U.S. tech companies use AMERICANS more for their technical support so their customers can get people who actually care about doing a good job and can actually understand English?

So if someone who knows using Windows 8 for DRC on the Internet has some tips, then it would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you!!

P.S. If anyone is offended by my comments about the ugly, incompetent, stupid providing "technical support" in India or the Philippines - Nevermind! You go ahead and waste hours of your time talking to some Morón in these countries, who barely understands English and then 'disconnects' the call when they know that you realize that they are clueless and have all the answers.

Take a look at no - IP.com or dyndns.com, and then use your host.domain:3389 of no.-ip/dynDNS or run RelaVNc SErver that is running on port 5900 by default.  Server options allow you to change the port as well if necessary.

  • Connection problems with remote desktop connection

Good somehow I try to connect to my remote friends computer and it has a windows 7 and I already configured on his computer. I already forwarded Ports on his computer, his static IP, added exception to the firewall, including Norton Internet Security Firewall 2013, so his remote desktop connection is good. But my computer is a Windows Vista Home Premium, but somehow, it wont let me connect it keeps telling in a dialog box with this error:

    Say this 'Remote Desktop disconnected"
"Try to connect again. If the problem persists, contact your network administrator or the owner of the remote computer.

But it's is not my friends computer problem, its my computer, I would have never been able to use Remote Desktop on my computer, I have no idea why. I also configured with my router Embarq EQ 660 - R in the NAT rule SUA Port 3389 with my routers IP. But somewhere in my firewall, it doesn't let me use the same TCP 3389 port, it won't let me enter any number of his strange. Well, I have the screen shot a photo so I'll attach the image so you can see what I mean. But I already have my friends computer sent a static router IP configured on him and on his router port everything worked fine, but the problem is mine, don't let me not the port before my router only if I use the NAT option and entering into the rule of SUA, in which I made with port 3389 , and my default gateway static IP.  I also added an exception to my Windows Firewall and also my Norton Internet Security firewall, 2013 including the application, but still somehow, it does not work. On my router, if I try to put the port range: 3389 to 3389. Added the name of Service like RDP, Type of Service: TCP. Also, I made my public computer static IP a little go. A how's my friends computer it works

Thanks I would really appreciate it

  • Obsolete entry in the DNS Cache in name of VCHB with Remote Desktop connection

We cannot use remote desktop to connect the virtual name of one of our vCenter Heartbeat.  When we connect we get a message that says "the connection can not be established because the remote computer that has been concluded is not one that you have specified.  This could be caused by an outdated entry in the DNS cache.  Try using the IP address of the computer instead of the name.  We are able to connect by IP address.

Googling for this error comes up with ideas such as time synchronization check (it's good), and the deactivation of safety checks DRC (we cannot - political society).  Using nslookup all forward and reverses two server instances and the virtual name of good sound.  Three other bodies VCHB in our environment work very well as well, but we do know the difference between those and this problematic.

Have anyone of you experience something like this before?  Any ideas?

    Thank you!

    RDC Error.jpg

We had this same problem. It happened only on one of our VCHB, our handle other forums did not have this problem. After having much poking around, we noticed that the name of public virtual/VCHB problem had an entry of computer object in AD, while (most) others have not done. We wondered if it was somehow related to the problem. We checked with VMware support and finally said it would be OK to delete the computer object in AD for the name of virtual\public. We have removed the subject of the AD, waited about an hour, and (somewhat to our surprise) this actually solved the problem - we have DRC in the virtual/public name with no problems.

  • Want to access another computer on Windows 7 using Remote Desktop connection

    Dear member of the community,

I have 2 desktops, one with 10 windows and more with windows 7. Now I want remote access to the computer windows 10 windows 7 without logging on the computer windows 10. Kindly, guide me for the same thing.

    Hello Alice,.

I would like to know some information about the problem so that we can help you better.

The computers are connected to a domain network?

Thank you for details on the issue.

I also appreciate that fact that you want to access 10 Windows in Windows 7 remotely.

With Remote Desktop connection, you can connect to a computer running Windows from another computer running Windows that is connected to the same network or to the Internet. For example, you can use all of the programs, files, and network resources from your computer on your computer at home, and it's just that you are sitting in front of your computer at work.

To connect to a remote computer that computer must be turned on, it must have a network connection, Remote Desktop must be enabled and you must have access to the network to the remote computer (this could be through the Internet), and you must have permission to connect. To obtain permission to connect, you must be on the list of users. Before you start a connection, it's a good idea to search the name of the computer you are connecting to and to make sure that Remote Desktop connections are allowed through the firewall.

I suggest you use the steps in this article and check if it helps.

  • Remote Desktop connects then stops after a few seconds

I have two laptops to Windows 7.  We run OpenVPN which I will refer to the VPN server.  The other is the Client and with me on trips.  Open VPN is configured on the Client and the VPN server, and I can connect from inside and outside the network without any problems.  I also have an Open VPN Client with another port configured on a server QNAS.  I can connect without any problems.

I want to run the OpenVPN server on one VLAN separated to prevent users to see my internal network and only sees another NAS.  I also use the VPN to offer our few users (3) the ability to connect and use my static IP address.

I have a router TP-Link-ER-6120.  I can configure the three ports to run in 3 separate VLANS.  When I configure the VPN server works on my regular network to exploit the VLAN1 and VLAN2, I can always connect to OpenVPN and all I want to do works (NAS and Internet access with my static IP).  However, when I try to establish a Session to the VPN server computer remote desktop, I get the login and enter my user name and password.  I see the remote desktop window, open and usually see the remote desktop wallpaper and loading the desktop icons.  Then it crashes.  If he does until I can see the desktop, it automatically attempts to reconnect.  If she makes it that far, it stops with a window that says Remote Desktop connection has been disconnected.

If I come back in the configuration of the router and change the configuration of VLAN for the server VPN is on the same virtual network, I can connect and the remote desktop connection is successful, as long as the customer is located on my network.  If I connect the Client to the VPN server from outside my network in this configuration, the remote desktop will always fail in the same manner described above.  I also have a QNAS on my network with OpenVPN configured and operational.  If I connect the Client computer to the QNAS, I can connect to the VPN server until the VPN server is placed in its own VIRTUAL LAN.

Thus, work Desktop connections to local computers.

However, since a remote off-grid remote office connections begin to work, but are stopped when connecting.

-J' I ping the VPN server during connection attempts and never lose the connection.

-J' used telnet to Server VPN 3389 port and it connects.

-J' turned off the firewalls on both sides and went up to remove Symantec on the VPN and BitDefender server on the side side Client to use Windows Firewall on both.  And then disabled Windows Firewall as well and still no joy.

Is there a setting in Windows I'm missing that allow the desktop connection remote on the LAN, but not enable during login remotely even if I can ping, telnet and usually access the rest of the network?

Is it maybe a configuration problem on the side of the router?  Installation side route is a very simple graphic interface.  I configured for the VPN service roads and they remain in place (one for the QNAS) and one for the OpenVPN server.  I set up a static route (virtual server) for port 3389 go directly to the IP address of the VPN server, but that did nothing.

Miss me probably something simple, but it launched my ass for weeks now.

    Any ideas?

  • Use of material connected to the remote computer during remote desktop connection session?

I use Remote Desktop Connection a lot, and I mean... A lot. In addition to managing workstations without having to leave my desk, I started to run to the House to make use of the desktop computer powerful in the room without having to get up from the couch and laptop.

However, I began to discover that far, I had to connect to the desktop computer to complete a task. An example is the computer that I'm controlling from the living room does not burn a disc. I can go stick a disc in the drive... but for some reason when I'm logged in from the outside, programs can't find the hard drive.

Another thing I just tried... (... and before you think 'kinky'...) Just know that I think 'Security'... lmao), was to see the web cam (Microsoft LifeCam). Unfortunately just like the hard disk, the program says "connect the webcam to the computer.

I guess the reason for this is to integrate the local hardware of controller in the session remotely... but whatever the reason, is there a way for me to operate the hard drive and the webcam to the computer, I'm connected during a session remotely with Remote Desktop Connection?

    Thanks :)

I need more info on how your network is configured to answer the question on the other.  How is the computer connected to the internet?  It connects wireless or cable to the router or modem or through ICS from another computer or what?  How do you change between the sharing of internet connection currently?  What happens when you try to enable both connections at the same time (or do not have two connections)?

Thank you.  The answers above, I can be able to understand the problem, because right now I really don't know how you setup and I need as much information as you can provide about it.

  • Remote Desktop connection between my Windows 7 and a new friends Windows 8.1

Hello. My friend just got his first computer and is completely lost. She has absolutely no experience with a computer and a computerphobe of full tilt. We are 400 miles away and tried to help him by phone with little luck. To make things worse, I think that someone in which she rose to set his computer did not understand 8.1 either. I've been computing for a long time and have studied 8.1 and feel comfortable with it. But I never configured before remote connection and am unsure of certain things.

    First the operating environment:

My computer: Inspiron 560 s under Windows 7 Home Premium.

I'm on a home using Netgear network. I'm not using a wifi connection.

His new computer: desktop HP Pavilion Slimline model 300-413 running Windows 8.1.

I'm not sure of its network connections.

Note: I use this to 8.1 as a guide (the link opens the guide for Windows 7...? But I use the guide for 8.1)... http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/Remote-Desktop-connection-FAQ#1TC=Windows-8

I think I can happen by steps 1.a. to 1.e. without any difficulty.

    Now the questions:

    1. in step 1.e.1. regarding 'Locations', I don't know what are the options it will present with or should I tell him to choose?

    2. to step 2.b. on the 'system', I know that she must see 'Computer name' and 'Working group', but I'm not sure what she's going to see in which area '? This does not appear on my version of Windows 7.

    3. If I can talk to him through this, she will be able to watch what I'm doing on his monitor?

Please keep in mind that it is a perfect beginner so no instructions to its end should be as simple as possible, and I am new to 8.1 and uncertain as to what exactly she will see during the installation.

She told me yesterday that she is so frustrated that she's almost ready to throw it all in the street and forget it. So any help and advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

    Hello

Do you use the Intel Proset utility to configure the WiFi connection?
Try to configure the WiFi network using this tool and check if the WiFi network would disconnect again.

I m also interesting this driver Wlan did you use?
Did you use one page of Intel?
If this is not the case, check the Intel page for the new WLan driver version.
