WLAN incredibly slow after installing Vista on my Satellite A100

Hi all
I just installed Vista on my Satellite A100, with / 3Gb and Intel PRO/Wireless 3945ABG. Watch the video stored on my workstation, which worked perfectly with XP, crawls to a halt and is totally impossible. If I connect to the 'copper', it works like a charm.
Drivers updated to the latest version.

Anyone have any idea what I should look for?

Concerning
Hans

Have you already installed Service Pack 1 for Vista? Had the problem that you, that I could not stream videos on my laptop as it froze after some time of reading.

  • Unable to connect to the college network after installing Vista business on Satellite A215

I have a Satellite A215-S4757, which I brought with me in College, I was told that the server of the College has a problem with vista home, which is what I currently the wireless is down, so after installing business and plug in the ethernet cable, my laptop does not collect several wireless networks available, or otherwsie

What to say that you can also access the network using Vista.
But please note that the Vista operating system supports additional network access security settings that should be disabled or reset.

How this site published by Microsoft should help you set up the network with Vista settings:

    Here are several tips:
You should try to open Network Diagnostics by right-clicking the network icon in the notification area, then click on diagnose and repair.

  • Satellite A200-1SM is slow after installing Vista

    Hello.

I have a problem with my Satellite A200-1sm computer.
Yesterday I installed Alcohol 120% program and something happened.
My computer stoped working and a restart and blue screen.

After that, I installed the Windows Vista again and installed the driver.
My processor is slow (before this happened was 3.8 after 4.6 and 4.5 memory after 2.7) and my memory is slow.

    Help

    Hello

I installed the tool Alcohol 120% a few months ago too and as far as I know this software creates virtual drives and you can emulate max 31 readers.

I m not 100% sure, but maybe this could be the reason for your BSOD issues possibly the software isn't 100% compatible with vista OS.

However, after installation since the laptop recovery CD uses the factory settings and should work fine. I don t think that your laptop works done slower, is that Toshiba picture (from recovery CD) contains a large number of programs that regulates the functions of the laptop and run in the background of the OS. These processes need resources from the laptop, and so the Vista experience index may change.

This is why I am 100% sure that your laptop is ok.

You should visit the Websites of Microsoft and should read a little about this index, and how it works.

Hello, I've updated victory 8 to 8.1. Now my S50 Satellite A 10 H is slow. Opening Firefox takes 2-3 min, opening a web page 1-2 minutes if there is no shortage...

  • Can not install Vista on my Satellite A100-529 display driver

    Hello

I downloaded the ATI from the download page of Vista driver but it won't install - it goes through the installation process, but in the end gives an error message. At the bottom of the journal is: -.

    Error messages
    Driver installation: installation failed
    Installation of the application: failure

What to do now? The Vista driver, I cannot activate my SVideo out which is really annoying.

    Thanks for any idea!

    Hello

For most error messages appear because something was wrong during the installation procedure.
This could be caused by the use of evil, graphic driver is not compatible.

Are you sure you used the right graphics driver?
Choose the drivers developed for the series of satellites PSAA2 because the A100-529 belongs to this series of laptop.

The Toshiba page offers a version 8.31.100.3.2 - 06112 ATI graphics driver.
    You must install this!

I myself remember that this device was not delivered with Windows Vista but with Windows XP Home version. So I guess you did something wrong during the installation of the Vista driver.

Are you using the latest version of the BIOS? Please check and if necessary try to update.
    But be careful!
Make sure you use the good BIOS and the method of updating the BIOS.

  • How can I reinstall MS OneNote2003 after installing Vista?

    Hello everyone,

I was a bit confused of the 'ExpressUpgrade' action, because I first thought I would get
a DVD-Windows Vista upgrade, but as I can see in ModusLink he is named "Windows Vista Home Premium 32 bit DVD"... OK, it's done now, but that's why I have other questions:

There was additional software and utilities already installed (I have a Satellite P100 - 463 WinXP).
I know that there is this "step by step Toshiba DVD" who has first updates the BIOS, install Vista and then the drivers needed and utility (as "Toshiba Assist" and all the others, I guess). As it is written in the guide step by step, all programs etc. will be deleted, as formatting of the hardddisk, ok.

But with the laptop, there wasn't "MS Office OneNote 2003" already installed and this program, I have not found on one of the DVD / CD. On the CD is 'MS Works 8.5' and on 'Tools-CD"that I was burning of 'C:\toolscd' there are things like"InterVideo Win DVD Creator"(the player) and"recorder of Sonic.

On the "Recovery-DVD" is just the Image of Windows XP preinstalled + software etc and I think of course, there is also the OneNote2003, but like I said I can't find the setup.exe from OneNote2003 anywhere...

Or could it be that OneNote2003 will also be installed with the installation of Vista? What is a "core" Vista, don't not patched by Toshiba? As I was reading in the Vista_Express_Upgrade_instruction_multilanguage.pd f (the manual "upgrade progressive", first BIOS is up to date, then installed Vista and here again I have to use the toshiba DVD to install the software and drivers...) Is it only "utiltities' as"Toshiba Assist"or as software?

Last question: update after the BIOS that is needed for Vista, is still possible to install the "old" Windows XP + stuff pre-installed recovery-DVD or this BBIOD goof only for Vista update and I cannot restore the original recovery image?

And anyway, can I install new stuff like Works 8.5 etc. on Vista or will I have problems with it?

    Thanks for the replies.
    Greetings, launchee

    Hi kai

I know that the Vista upgrade is a bit confusing
So I'll try to clarify some things:

1.) Toshiba Recovery XP CD contains all Toshiba drivers, utilities and tools, as well as additional programs like OneNote, Win DVD, etc.
It is not possible to install this software separately without using the recovery CD because these programs are part of the image.

2.) as far as I know the received "Windows Vista Home Premium 32 bit DVD of moduslink company is not a restore CD but the real Windows Vista installation CD. That's why you need to install all the tools of Toshiba and the drivers after installing Vista. This CD does not include additional software such as OneNote or WinDVD

So finally, you will be able to install Works 8.5 on Vista because you have one working on CD separately but it s not possible to install OneNote from recovery CD

But you can try another way. You could create a second partition and you could install the Vista to the second partition.
Laptop you would use the two operating system; XP and Vista. The Vista also provides a clean boot manager.
Therefore, it is very easy to switch between the two OS's.

  • Laptop does not start after installing vista sp2

My Dell XPS 1530 stopped working after installing vista sp2. He gave me instructions for installation, step 1 of 3 and it went all that they way up to step 3 of 3 and said its closure and never came back...
Please let me know, how to start the laptop.

    Hello GoogleGuru,
Thank you for visiting the Microsoft Answers forum.
Because your computer does not start until the desktop computer, we were able to try the system restore to a point before you install SP2.
Thus, with the computer is shut down. Press the power button, then press on and press F8 until you see the startup options, and then it will give you the ability to boot to the last known good configuration. (select it).

If this does not work, you can try to boot from the Vista DVD and use the recovery console to perform a restore of the system to another point in time.

    Post back with the results.

  • Problems with sound after installing Vista Ultimate SP1 on HP Pavilion Dv4

I lost sound after installing Vista SP1 Ultimate on my HP Pavilion Dv4... everything was fine before. Help, please.

Go to the HP support website and search for Windows Vista drivers for your specific model number. Also look for recent updates, even if your PC comes with Windows Vista preinstalled.
    http://welcome.HP.com/country/us/en/support.html

If there are Vista drivers then download to a folder on your hard drive and install all of them, starting with the installation card mother/chipset drivers, then the SATA, LAN, Audio, drivers and other device drivers.

I get the following error message after installing Vista on my laptop. It causes the computer freezes. It will also freeze after restarting. I have not installed anything, or deleted all the programs. After researching on the forums, I discovered that it is a Vista/Microsoft error that happens regardless of the manufacturer of the computer or installed equipment.

    Hello melm12,

This problem occurs if the WMI filter is accessible without the necessary permissions. To resolve this problem, run a script to stop the event ID 10 messages. Here's an article in the knowledge base with details on how to do it: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/950375. Otherwise, it might be a hardware failure. Hope this helps you. Let us know anyway. • Mac incredibly slow after update of El Capitan

    Hello world

    I own a Macbook that I bought in 2013.

    Data sheet:

    13 "medio 2012

Processor: 2.5 Ghz Intel core i5

    Memory: 4 GB 1600 Mhz DDR3

Four days ago, that I've updated my system to El Capitan v10.11.6. At first, he seemed to be well-developed, but after about 12 hours, it started to become really slow - and I don't speak incredibly slow. Almost all of the clicks or typing a letter takes forever.

I downloaded a free version of CleanMyMac, and it shows that I have to constantly only between 50 and 300 MB of RAM free. I also read that you should let Spotlight indexes all yout files, but it maintains at the end and starting over.

I have about 90 of my 499 GB hard drive on the left.

    Any ideas or solutions?

    Two suggestions:

Dump to clean my mac it's crapware.

  • Sound problems after installing Vista on Satellite A100

    Hello

I have something new, something I've never seen and I do not much [as appropriate] of you.

Today, I installed Windows Vista Beta 2 on my laptop Satellite A100-192. As it is Vista compatible now [I added some memory] I think it's the right time to see the new operating system [that is great, he will rule the world for sure].

    But back to the topic.
After the installation of Windows Vista, which has detected almost all of the software in my pc and have fun on this topic / and there are a lot of things an old fart like me, can have fun with / I decided it's time to get back to work.
So I restarted my toshiba for win xp, started working and has decided that music will surely improve my / concentration i'm from Poland and as many of you know, my team lost the first game of the 2006 World Cup. so they will not pass the group stage of WC2K6--real cause my humor today. After turning on my foobar, I realized that I don't hear nothing/i do not drink, so he can't really be the cause. I've set all volume settings, all the settings of the sound and nothing! I tried headphone jack, but it does not work too. I tried reinstalling the drivers, reboot the system several times and... nothing.
I went back to Vista and... sound works like a charm.

Bromine to Vista my sound on XP...

Anyone has any bright ideas, how this could have happened and how to solv it / accept to remove vista from windows...?

I would be greatfull for some advice...

    Best regards

  • Unknown devices after installing Vista on Satellite Pro U200

Yesterday, I installed vista ultimate, but unfortunately my U200 is not compatible with vista because the tile would make me believe.
What does not work I have identified to date:
    -Speakers and headphone jack
    -Function keys
    -Fingerprint reader

Almost any of the included toshiba software installs even after disabling "control of Application Security."

Does anyone know where I can get the new drivers and software or when they become available?

Otherwise really like Vista. It is very reactive and simplifies many tasks. This is very pretty too, but this isn't my priority.
    Any help gratefully received
    See you soon

This might help others with similar problems. I was able to get evrything working except my shortcut keys.

  • Satellite A100-912 (PSAA9E) a device is missing after installing Vista

    Dear,

I recently received a Satellite A100 - 912 (PSAA9E). Windows XP Home was preinstalled operating system. But when I installed Vista Ultimate, the Device Manager shows that a device is missing pilot. Its properties show that it is located on PCI, device 6 7 Bus and function 3.

I downloaded the drivers all listed for the toshiba site system. So, can someone tell me what device it is and where I can find the driver for it? All devices such as the display, sound, modem, lan/wlan, player card, fingerprint reader, buttons of media multi burner Super multi and touch to touch work well.

    Hey Buddy,

I Don t really know what device it is, but you can for example try a linux live cd. The live cd lists you start a list of pci devices so you can find that materials are in your machine.

Alternatively, you can perform a search in google for 'list of pci Vista' and you might find some pci list of tools that can help you get information about unknown material thjat.
