Search for Add/Remove windows in the L.column components, scroll

  • Error code the Wmplayer.exe file has a Version number of 11.0.5721.5262 where was 11.0.5721.5145

No sound in Windows.  Message from the file Wmplayer.exe has a Version number of 11.0.5721.5262 where 11.0.5721.5145 was expected.  Windows Media Player is not installed correctly and must be reinstalled.  This happened for no apparent reason.  Tried to install WMPlayer 11 Web site created for and still get the same message.   Help please?

    Hi AnnieT2053,

Although the error message prompts you to reinstall the Windows Media Player, reinstalling does not necessarily fix the problem. Generally, the error message appears again when you try to launch Windows Media player after reinstallation.

Method 1: To resolve the problem, perform the following steps:

    a. go to Start , then click run.

    b. type following command in the Open box and then press enter:

    c:\windows\inf\unregmp2.exe /UpdateWMP

The steps above resolve the confusion that your computer has been with the version numbers of Windows Media Player, and then corrects the error.

Method 2: Try the SFC (System File Checker) scan on the computer.

To run the System File Checker tool, follow these steps:

    a. click Startand type cmd in the box start the search.

    b. right click on cmd in the list programs, and then click run as administrator.

    c. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type your password or click on continue

    d. at the command prompts, the following line and press ENTER:

    sfc/scannow

  • Wmplayer.exe in list of logon process and slow down my computer automatically

    Hello!

All the minutes (and it can happen several times in a minute or two, then accompany minutes nothing happens) my mouse freezes and my computer "thinks" for a few seconds, as something that four-color or trying to open, only nothing is.

I opened the Task Manager upward and looked at the list of processes, and "wmplayer.exe" opens and closes during this period.

I found this problem in the Windows 7 forums, and that's exactly what I saw, only when running Vista and NOT 7.

    http://social.answers.Microsoft.com/forums/en-us/w7performance/thread/d3e2abf1-1ebc-4048-b58e-f369b999c65c

Edit: I did a few things. Originally, before the beginning of the process, I changed USB ports of the just in case, mice that did not work. I did several tests and checked the registry for a particular worm that seems to mimic some of these symptoms. I tried to open wmp to see if it is open it would attempt to run, which he did not. I also deleted the plugin Firefox wmp in case that is the question. None of them helped.

Edit again: I took the step on the reference station and did a clean boot. This does not prevent the problem. Wmplayer.exe has always arisen as I explained above.

    Any ideas? Thank you!

    Hello!

Just an update for those who have this problem.

Nothing above helped at all. I had several people look at the computer, had many suggestions from different people, went up to remove wmp and synchronization of the computer, but nothing helps. I always had this problem.

On a whim, a few days ago, I decided to try to buy a new mouse. Couldn't hurt, right? :) And here, I have not had the problem since. Try a new mouse! Worked for me.

  • Wmplayer - virus?

I'm confused - 26, I installed the update cumulative media 974306 for vista 64-bit.  The next day,

my antivirus warned that wmplayer.exe has been changed.  I open the file Explorer and found wmplayer in

c:\Program Files (x 86) \Windows Media Player.  Under the date modified column, I see that wmplayer.exe has date of 2009-09-10 08:21.  However, if I have the mouse on the file, it shows date of creation as on 26/04/2010, which is when I made the update.   The support page does not mention wmplayer has to change.  I suspect this wmplayer is ok, but I decided to uninstall the update, then reinstall it to see if the creation date would change.  Which would give me at least make sure that the installation was in fact affecting this file, however after doing this (uninstall then reinstall), the date remained as on 26/04/2010.  I was expecting maybe it would show the date of my relocation (2010-04-27).    My security s/w does not show a way to clean or remove this wmplayer and I can't remove it.  I don't know if I have a virus/Trojan horse or not.  Don't know what to do.  Also, can someone explain why the date of creation indicated in properties (mouse over) is later than the date of change in the Explorer?  Thank you!

  • Windows 7 and WMPlayer don't is not loading

WMPlayer worked very well and I have probably 100 playlists of music, then I bought some iTune songs (what I had done before without any problem) and now when I click on WMP, it appears "Welcome to Windows Media Player" screen where I am suppose to select "Recommended settings" or "Custom settings", so I select recommended and press Finish and it brings me right to return to the screen "Welcome to WMP" even. I tried troubleshooting and he said: WMP Settings = Configuration parameters can be unruly (detected), but does not tell me how to configure them properly. I tried "Turn Windows features On or Off" and tried to reinstall everything with no success! I tried to go to cmd.exe and type "net Localgroup"Administrators", etc. and it says account exists already or something to that effect.» Please help, thanks, Jim

Thanks for the update, Jim... Well, it is good that WMP behaves in the account of the other, and with Windows Update it seems to be in order, I think we have to assume that some kind of shock of software caused the problem on your main account - possibly with iTunes, (although I run iTunes without any problems).

You have other programs of third-party media player and have you tried to run the Fix It and SFC scannow tools of MS - they could detect something.

The tool SFC go to this link and follow the relevant instructions. You will get a report end indicating if something was found and repaired etc.

    https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/929833.

Download and run the tool Fix WMP it here...

    https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/mats/windows_media_player_diagnostic?wa=wsignin1.0.

Reboot after that operations may be necessary to see the effect of any changes have been made.

  • HOW CAN I KEEP WMPLAYER TO ORGANIZE MY PLAYLISTS BEFORE BURNING?

All I'm doing is to burn a DVD disc of data with a long list of music to play on my DVD drive (the DVD player is connected directly to my stereo) for a long time, but just of WMPLAYER INSISTS on organize them into albums, artists, etc.  I want just the finished disc to start the first song and continue to play the list down to the end.  As it is, I have to ask each album listing individually (even if 'album' has only one song) and he can't read in the order I have listed in the playlist in the first place.  I thought that all I had to do was simply drag the name list in the playlist area and engraving, but he keeps on organizing my list against my will.

When I use windows Media Player my becomes cpu very high (90-100%) and my laptop is almost cold.
The only way to fix is to close the mediaplayer via the Task Manager.

I try to check all the options in the menu of mediaplayer, but I can't find any problem.
(I found something on windows mediaplayer networksharing via taskmanger--> services. I stopted the service but the problem persists.)

Then, when Im not using the cpu mediaplay is close to 50%.

    Can someone help me pls?

    Hi davygusto,

    see the running services...
There may be a service that runs in the background, causing the high cpu load when mediaplaying (such as streaming)...
disconnect from the network and play music - if the load is normal * this is * one such service.
Maybe your antivirus software checks the traffic and causing more load also.

Make sure that no other program is running during the test (internet radio, desktop application etc.)

I think your 'Disinfection' software runs wild...
