Secondary DNS server

Y at - it a secondary IPv4 DNS server and if so, where can I find it? I looked in the Networkcentre and he's not here.

Contact your ISP and ask them their DNS servers IP addresses. If
you only have one number plug than the secondary and see if the Xbox
It takes and connect to the internet.

If you have a second, or use

208.67.222.222
208.67.220.220

OpenDNS or

8.8.8.8
8.8.4.4

Google public DNS

  • Your DNS server cannot resolve the names of Xbox Live

I had a link with my BEFSR41 version 4.3 and Westell 6100 Verizon.  The modem took a dump and was replaced by the 6100f (f is for f - you).  I can't connect to Xbox live.  The subject line is what tells me the platform.  Verizon says it's a router problem.  I opened the ports, turned on the DMZ and get this problem go away.  Any ideas?

DNS, Domain Name System, is how computers find other computers on the Internet. A problem with the DNS means that your Xbox 360 console does not know how to find the Xbox LIVE servers. In many cases, restarting your modem, router and another material (also called cyclic power) can solve the problem. It is to turn each piece of equipment and turn it back on in sequence. If you have not already done so, give it a try today...

If it doesn't work, access your router installation and click the status tab, open a page in Internet Explorer browser on a computer hard wired to the router... In the address bar type - 192.168.1.1... Leave the name blank username & password use admin lowercase... Click the status tab and check the Internet IP Address(it should not start with 192.168.x.x or 10.x.x.x)... If you have one IP address other than what is mentioned above, then it has to work, take no DNS1 and DNS2 and assign the DNS server manually.

    1. go to my Xbox and open Control Panel.
    2. Select network settings, configure the network.
    3. on the basic settings tab, select DNS settings, and then select manual.
4 Select the primary DNS server, enter your primary, then DNS server address.
    5. Select the secondary DNS server, enter your secondary, then DNS server address.
    6. Select done to save your settings, then try to connect again. It should work...

  • List virtual machines and their DNS server settings

I try to list virtual machines and their primary and secondary DNS server addresses.  Are the cmdlets in vmware that can do this, or would I need to use the invoke-script command.  I have the list of virtual machines and I want to list them all with their DNS server addresses.

I tried to use the wmi objects such as:

    Win32_networkadapterconfiguration get-wmiobject - computername "servername |

    Select name, DNSServerSearchOrder

It would give me the specific server name and addresses of dns.

But I need the list of servernames which I would like to list some and their

    DNSserversearchorder settings (DNS settings)

I tried to put the servernames list in a text file using

    Get - vm | Export-csv C:\computername.txt - notype

Then I used the get-content command and the pipe in the get-wmiobject

    command like below:

    $servers = get-Content c:\computername.txt

    ForEach ($server in $servers)

    {get-wmiobject Win32_networkadapterconfiguration - computername $server

    | where {$_.} IPEnabled-fits 'True'} | Select-object

    name, DNSServerSearchOrder

But when I run this command fails with errors such as a pipe empty

element is not allowed.  I don't know if the above script has all synatx

error or what is the best way to get a list of servers and their dns server

    Parameters.

I know the wmiobject maybe out of this range in these newsgroups but there at - it a script in powershell, vmware or windows powershell to get a list of servername (which are mostly VMS) and their DNS server settings.

Try the following script to get the DNS search order:

    Get-Content c:\computername.txt | `
    ForEach-Object {
      Get-WMIObject Win32_NetworkAdapterConfiguration -Computername $_ | `
        Where-Object {$_.IPEnabled -match "True"} | `
        Select-Object -property DNSHostName,DNSServerSearchOrder
    }

  • DNS Server: Issue of SOA server of El Capitan

    Hello

How ASA can be defined on El Capitan DNS server?

The server reports the name of domain (example.com) as SOA indeed, but some services (secondary server DYNDNS services) seems to expect the SOA for the primary server, as in this case ns1.advedi.com

Currently, for the main server, I have a mac mini to the latest version of El capitan server allowing the transfer of area and as secondary servers a (server) 10.6.8 snow leopard running a DNS server secondary DynDNS service.

The two secondary servers report the same problem with the SOA

    domain name: example.com

main server: ns1.example.com (main server, which allows the zone transfer)

secondary server: ns2.example.com (taking ns1.example.com information)

    servcie dynDNS (taking ns1.example.com information)

I don't see on the GUI how to put in place. I need to change the area?

    Thank you

Some DNS more 'health' check reports (several sites regarding the same):

    • SERVFAIL DNS when querying 208.76.60.132 for SOA

(secondary servers, the same two answer)

The main server allow zone transfer, so I do not understand why it is like that.

  • express error airport; No DNS server address

    OSX El Capitan

    10.11.6

    MacBook Pro mid-2009

Coupled with Airport Express Airport Extreme.

Time Warner Cable improved the internet in our area and it took a new modem. At the new modem and Airport Extreme works with it, having to put the modem in Bridge mode.

However the station Airport Express a few classrooms is now always flashing orange and the error says "there is no DNS server address.

If I refresh the DHCP lease it will go green, but less than a minute he keeps flashing orange.

    What should I do?

The way this is supposed to work, it's that your main router obtains the DNS server address of an upstream (on the ISP network) server. The wireless access point or router (router in bridged mode) next level gets its the main router DNS addresses. All subsidiary wireless access points get their the next upstream router DNS server address. Your Mac gets these addresses from the router or wireless access point when it gets its IP address.

It is possible that you may need to turn off all routers, then feed their place in the order of the modem to the outside. But once that happens it is likely to have on them.

If no joy in doing that, don't use the Admin user on your main router to see what should be these addresses, write them and enter them manually when you need it.

  • Do I need to have a DNS server?

My Time Capsule airport has no DNS server. Is this a problem? Thank you.

Yes. You can't find Web sites without a DNS server. What is the time Capsule used as your network router? If this isn't the case, then there no need of DNS servers. If it is the main router, the default DNS server is the address of the network, such as 10.0.1.1 or 192.168.1.1 router. Or you can use any DNS available to the public such as OpenDNS - 208.67.220.220.

  • "No DNS server," "PPPOE server," "Internet connection" - WARNING amber

I'm troubleshooting on iMac my parents - there is a problem with the configuration of the Airport Extreme. The iMac is fully updated.

During the configuration of the airport, I get this chart:

Under 'Of Carol Airport,' I can't seen to change the State of the servers DNS, server PPOE and Internet connection. The iMac works fine without the airport connected... but when you're connected, I get these errors.

How solve the three errors and get the router working again? Please provide very detailed responses, if possible. Thank you!!

The problem lies in the device upstream 'Carol airport'.

Reset by it turn it off and leave it like that for a few moments. Internet service providers often suggest disconnect their cable from their device as well (not the Ethernet cable between it and the AirPort Base Station - please leave one connected). There should be no need of power towards the low 'of Carol Airport', but there is no harm in doing so, either.

Then, connect it to power again, and reconnect the cable if you disconnected it. Give it a moment to start to finish. Connect the "Carol airport', if you we turned off.

Please proceed to configure the AirPort base station by following the instructions.

  • Request to another DNS server if the connection fails with the current

    Hello

I would like to ask whether there is an available addon or a feature hidden in Firefox, which allows him to activate try to use other DNS servers if a connection has failed to a server. Lets make an example, would be the best way to explain:

    1. I want to connect to Google.com
2 Firefox / Windows prompts for the IP address of the DNS server
3 Firefox attempts to connect to Google but fails (the site had long to answer, for example)
4 Firefox will try another DNS server, that you entered in your Page of DNS IPv4

Or Firefox already do this? Because sometimes it fails to connect to a server when you use a special DNS server. If I change the settings to another DNS server, it works.

    Thank you

    Please upgrade to version 20.

  • Static IP address of WiFi requires the DNS server

I was able to confirm this on two separate MacBook Pro (various models) the two Yosemite running 10.11.4.

After assigning a static IP address to the wireless network interface, the MacBook ping to a address beyond the gateway by default unless there is also a DNS server on the wireless interface. I wouldn't need a public IP address ping DNS server.

    For example:

    This method works.

    But it does not work:

At least I have change the DNS like this:

    Then it starts working again.

I tried to initiate a capture of packets and the MacBook is not even send ping on the wireless interface requests unless there is a static DNS server assigned.

Can anyone other confirm/deny this behavior for me?

    Thank you

    Rob

What exactly are you trying to do?

You try to assign a Mac with a LAN IP address? If so, do it in the router by selecting an IP address on the local network to use with the Mac Machine (MAC address). This assumes that your router is your DHCP server. Otherwise, you need a DNS server that is running on your local network to be able to distribute IP of DHCP addresses.

  • DNS server records to monitor traffic.

I do not understand much about it so I hope someone can explain to me.

I have a server configured with a DNS server running successfully on my mac mini (dns primary server for the House).

I was wondering if there is a way to capture the DNS server logs and monitor visited Web sites of specific host ips/name?

I don't have an example to make immediately available, and I expect that it will be the analysis or an output channel created manually or otherwise searching the DNS server connects.

If your firewall blocks all outgoing DNS traffic except for DNS queries on the server (this is to avoid without entering the DNS server, register via VPN or other), you can turn on extra logging through the command line, and then check the DNS server logs.

This configuration is probably more commonly implemented with either a network sniffer I look for DNS queries arriving at your server, or perhaps a web proxy server, as this proxy server gets you the customer information and the target host information, as it won't be all kinds of activities related to the web-is in the DNS for a typical client newspapers.

Activity network Apps, app updates (various which may seem HTTPS traffic, too), multiple streams of data, etc.

HTTPS and VPN can throw a key in these listening and data collection activities, unfortunately.  They can hide the access or hide the DNS query, according to the monitored computers.

There are approaches especially here, including the firewall of filtering (or notation) and the mechanisms of OS X such as Parental controls, depending on the specific details of your needs here.    There are examples posted around the network to use Wireshark or tcpdump to acquire the DNS of your network data, as well.

Details on the management of the BIND 9 command line - i.e. when there is hair - are available in the ISC BIND documentation, such as 9.10.  Find statement grammar and record the setting up an output channel, as a starting point.

For recent versions of OS X Server, BIND configuration files are under/Library/Server.  (See this discussion, as well.)

Changes to the configuration files can sometimes fail.app, unfortunately.   Close.app, make the changes to a copy of the file, then restart.app (and I hope Server.app don't spill or undo your changes).

  • Satellite A-C50-1GZ - wireless not detected DNS server

    Hello

I recently bought a Toshiba C50-A-1GZ, very happy on this subject, and I got this error Wireless Windows 8.1.

Browsing the web I found a few similar cases and tried to reset the wireless router for 10 seconds and defining the google DNS 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 Ipv4 but the problem persists.

Linux from another PC, I can surf and all so I have to think that there is some kind of problem with win 8.1.

This who can I try to fix this?
    Thank you

I recommend you to reset the WLan router to the default value.
The router should support a pool of IP addresses to allocate and connect the units to a wireless network automatically without the use of the fixed IP address.
If your router supports the WMM feature, check if you can disable this option.

In addition, in the properties of the wireless network, you need to check the TCP / IP v4 Protocol.
Here in the TCP / IP properties v4 would be setting the IP address, subnet mask, and DNS server settings default getway.
All these options should be set on: automatically get an IP (DNS server).

Your laptop seems to use the Atheros WB335 802.11bgn card Wlan.
The driver not found on the page of the Toshiba UE driver.
When changing the settings above does not help, you should go to Device Manager and need to uninstall the WLan card driver.

After restarting again, follow these steps:
    1. open Device Manager
    2. Select network adapters and then click on the WiFi (Atheros Ethernet controller) network adapter
    3. go driver tab and click Update driver
    4. Select Browse my computer for driver software
    5. Select let me pick from a list of drivers for devices on my computer
    6. Select the Atheros 802.11bgn wireless network adapter"entry in the list
    7. reboot and test the WLan functionality.

    Good luck

  • NB200-h-13 - no response from the DNS server and gateway

    Hello

I have netbook NB200-h-13 with XP SP3. Its impossible to connect to wireless internet and the error messages are
HE DIDN'T THERE WAS NO RESPONSE FROM THE DNS SERVER
HE DIDN'T THERE WAS NO RESPONSE FROM THE DEFAULT GATEWAY

The connection with the ethernet cable is ok with the adpter reltek that also adpter atheros ar9285 WiFi is activation, working properly and the modem router signal is strong.

    Hi abk55,

What program you receive this error message?
Have you tried another browser, for example Firefox or Opera?

I guess it has something to do with your wireless network card or WLAN parameters if the LAN cable is working properly. So you should try to update the WLAN driver on the Toshiba site.
Also, try to disable the filtering of MAC addresses and use another encryption.

  • Qosmio x 500-10T: WLan disconnects after 15 minutes with a DNS server

My qosmio connects to my wireless network but after 15 minutes, it disconnects a DNS server is not found I know that's not my router because all other wireless pc connect. It seems that wireless equipment is either a faulty driver or hardware is to ventilate.

Any suggestion is welcome. I have updated the driver and tried to turn off the wireless and it re-engage.
    But still, it disconnects.

    Hi mate

DNS problems mainly affect the router problems.
I think you should try to reset the router WLan first.
In addition it s recommended to update the WLan driver.
You must use the most recent of which are available here:
    http://APS2.toshiba-tro.de/WLAN/

I had a DNS problem with my PS3 connected to the kind of router home was that my laptop could not connect too and the same error was noticeable.
I have reset the router, checked all the settings and after 10 minutes, the two devices could run again.

    Welcome them
