I have a MacBook Pro for mid-2009 Mavericks running (slowly). Two days ago, he froze and wouldn't respond. I let it rest awhile and then held down the power button. When I turned it back on, he got on the gray apple screen and then the loading wheel would run indefinitely. I close it then once again, but nothing helped. I looked online and found Linc Davis's response:

MacBook pro won't start.  Stuck on apple with spinning logo.

Under notice here, I deleted an external HD started in recovery mode (which took awhile, but ends by occurred) and the utility disk and from there tried to transfer the partition Go Macintosh HD 499.11 the 500.11 GB Toshiba HD to a slightly larger partition of my HDD external newly restructured. I waited a bit (he told me that I had 1 day and 8 hours continuously without change), and then he gave a "input/output error" and stopped trying. I have since stopped, not wanting to take the risk of any action without advice by Prime.

I have data on that disc that I don't have in my last backup and would like to save as much as possible. What are my options? What should I try next?

If you have another Mac available, I suggest that you try the target disk mode:

Or out the HARD drive, install it in a closed enclosure and connect it to another Mac and see if you can access your files.

  • 0x8007045D Won ' t back up the entire computer

I'm trying to back up my computer while an external HD with 300 GB of space (more than enough) with windows to the top.  2 minutes in the back up he abandoned and gives the error message (0x887045D).  I did chkdsk on drives and still the same thing.  On the files and folders backup it does very well.  Any ideas?  Thank you.

First of all, how is externally (FAT-32 or NTFS) formatted drive?  FAT - 32 imposes a 4 GB file size limit and maybe it's not a problem with the files and folders, but there are some files of the system who may be that large and that would stop the process in its tracks.  The only solution to this problem would be to format or convert the disk external drive to NTFS where there is no such limit.  If the drive is empty (or you can temporarily move all that is there), it would be better to do a full format (since that would eliminate another potential cause of the problem at the same time).

Second, I couldn't find a single answer looking for this error (with the exception of this thread).  Are you sure that you have right?

What version of Vista are you using?  An image compllete backup is only available on certain versions.  I don't see how you would even be able to start if it was the wrong version, but I'ld confirm you it in any case.

At this point, I would like to give some links for how to make backups in Vista just to be sure, you are using the correct procedures.  Image backups are a little different that backup file/fulll.

This is a GREAT article on the backup and restore processes in Vistahttp://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/magazine/2007.09.backup.aspx , but he won't go into detail about the restoration process - considering almost as easy, of course.  But it teaches you a lot about what is possible and how to do it.  It also focuses primarily on the full backup process, but he did mention the full backup and restore process as well.

You do as an administrator?  Otherwise, sign in as an administrator and try again.  Also, disable any software security you have running while you do the backup - it might interfere with the process.  Finally, if this does not work, try to do minimumhttp://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135from a boot. and see if that helps.  Don't forget to return the system to normal mode once done with the boot.

I hope this helps.  If this isn't the case, post returns with answers to the questions and answers for the procedures that you have tried.  We will see then what are the other options, we can try (if necessary).

  • iPhone 6s Won't back up to iCloud

    Hello

Here is a summary of my equipment. I have a 6 (64 GB, Verizon iPhone running iOS 10.0.1). My computer is an iMac (mid-2010, 27 '' dual core i5 3.6 GHz, OS 10.11.5, running iTunes 12.5.1.21). My backup phone fine on my computer, but not from iCloud, at least when I try to back up the phone via iTunes. When I select the iCloud backup in iTunes, he's going through the motions of syncing, but it is not backup. However, I was able to get back up to iCloud by using the phone to start the process (parameters, iCloud, backup, backup now). It is a curiosity, or is this expected?

    Thanks in advance.

  • Time machine won't back up e-mail

My problem is that the e-mail messages in the e-mail on my iMac iCloud account are not saved to Time Machine. This seems to go back to the upgrade of the El Capitan.

I have four IMAP accounts in Mail (ICloud, Btinternet, Google and Yahoo), which works very much like email accounts. However, in Time machine only the last three save. Shows mailbox to iCloud in the sidebar on the left, but without display of messages; messages to display to the other three mailboxes and can be recovered.

I rebuilt, reindexed and removed/re-added, all mailboxes, but nothing changes.

After reading (and following) advice, I wonder if the problem is in my V2 and V3 files. The three mailboxes that upward are in V3, but on behalf of Apple stubbornly remains in V2 which I thought should now, in El Capitan, be redundant:

However, it is at the limit of my understanding. I remember I had a struggle during the installation of El Capitan initially regarding the mailboxes in the process of disappearance but eventually got mail works again and thought more about it. I don't check if messages have been backed up.

I have not all messages stored to preserve or migrate. Let me just messages to be saved on TM from this time, as they used to be. It is not a huge problem for me and I'm not ready to go to the lengths of resettlement El Capitan, but if there is something relatively simple, that I can do to make things work again, I'd be glad of any help.

Try this. Open mail (application) on your computer and you see all your emails. Then, open the time machine. It will open in the mail. You can scroll to the emails you want. From here you can download or get what you want. Go to the dates etc you want and recover

  • Time Machine won't back up e-mail messages

Since the installation of El Capitan, Time Machine is not back up e-mail messages. The mailboxes are backed up, but their content is empty. To do this, I copied a mailbox (with .mbox extension) on my desktop, then tried to import it into Mac Mail, but got an error message "no valid mbox not found file." Old messages (before the update of El Capitan) have been backed up, which I confirmed by reviewing the entries in an old Time Machine backup. The exclusion list is empty.

Possibly related: I switched from POP3 to IMAP with El Capitan.  I'm storing e-mails on the Mac Mail client, in different folders and subfolders. I can access the messages without access to Internet, so thought that once I moved to a folder in Mac Mail that they have resided on my MacBook instead of the Gmail server. My hypothesis is false?

I'm under El Capitan, OS version 10.11.2 on a MacBook Pro for mid-2010. I use Time Machine to back up to a LaCie drive and start these backups manually several times a week.

Please bring the Mail browser window to the front, then enter the Time Machine. You will see a series of windows Mail cascading at the time, each representing a snapshot of the database of e-mail.

Scroll to the most recent snapshot. Don't you see the content of the message?

I used the feature "Let Me Choose", then the data files > "backup data for newly created users" and > decide "Of Dom Libraries" during the return to the top of the settings menus, rather than letting Windows. I'm fairly certain that these three libraries are correctly pointing to relevant records of Google Drive (disk C:\Users\Dom\Google).

Hello and welcome to the community!

Please try this sequence... Note that, throughout the whole 4h15m process, your BB should stay connected to a good charger (not the USB PC):

    1. With battery, connect your BB to the wall charger
    2. Leave it alone for 2 hours, no matter what the LED or the screen not
    3. Remove the battery
    4. Wait 15 minutes
    5. Insert the battery
    6. Wait another 2 hours, no matter what the LED or the screen not

This has been known to "revive" some BBs.

It is also possible that your battery or BB has encountered a problem... to test, this sequence is necessary:

    1. Get a known good and already fully charge battery... use it in your BB and see what happens
    2. Get access to a BB good and the same known... use your battery in there and see what happens

The results of this will show if your BB or your battery that has the problem.

Good luck and let us know!

  • Yet when can WT8 - A - I create a USB recovery?

    Hello.

A newbie here and must I say, I had a heck of a job, find the button 'open a new topic '.
I only found it by chance which has landed on the right page.
    Anyway, back to my request.

I always have a brand new Toshiba WT8A still in the box.
    Here another must be told.

I had possession of this unit about a week ago and to cut a long story short, at the suggestion of a drop-down notification of Toshiba I downloaded and installed a BIOS update, it went well.

I was then advised to download and install the update of the installer of Intel. It went well until to half way through and then everything froze, the screen went black and stayed like that for over half an hour or two. When it looked like not commissioning again I tried to start it by pressing the power button on the side, but instead of putting on and working, I got a nasty blue screen informing me that Bitlock had locked my tablet... I panicked!

In my desperation, I have absolutely violated the internet solution to notice that the only solution was to recover the operating system, but the problem was that I didn't have a USB recovery.

I was lucky that Toshiba was kind enough to take possession of the mortared Tablet and restored the device to its factory for me.

So you can see a USB recovery is essential, but the question, at what point can I create them as we know that as soon as you begin to configure things, are supported by internet downloads and everything screams it must be updated and you are bombarded.

To be honest, I'm terrified to BitLock upward again. The irony is that I was not anywhere near BitLock that I know about in its use or its application, but from what I've gleaned, it seems the update Intel had invoked the locking identify what he perceived as a potential problem after that the BIOS updated... or so it has been suggested.

I'll start another post with questions about the BitLock, for now, it is a question of recovery USB and welcome all responses. Do I get messages when a response has been added because I see not a checkbox to request this service. ?

    Concerning

Recovery must be created initially in the best cases after the Tablet has been configured.
The recovery media contains the image of Toshiba, but the recovery media won't back up your current data or setting. It's very important.

Leash so assume you got you filed using this Toshiba recovery procedure.
After this recovery process the tablet will be set to factory settings to the same State as the first date of purchase

Hope I could clarify this issue.
