  I just started the development in BB 10 using cascade / C++,.

  And I followed the tutorial first turorial since the Developer Portal.

  It took me around to days to handle the Simulator/IDE and the vertual ofcourse machines.

  Anyway, the issue is when I try to add features to it

  appPage = qml-> createRootNode();

  I got this error

  'QmlDocument' has no member named 'createRootNode.

  Now tell me one thing if the declaration and manufacturers or other parties are responsible then why its unable to find the remaining mart or methods the same class?

  E.g.

  AbstractPane * root = qml->() createRootObject;

  It worked perfectly fine.

  Please help me in this regard.

  Dear RIM, I really appriciate your efforts to completely redesign the operating system from the ground up.

  But please make sure that a developer doesn't waste time in these things of configurations. I know that many are well aware of these but if I worry I am the base of XCODE and not much more familiar with Eclipse.So it's like wasting time in those things that can be used to create large applications.

  They got rid of createRootNode with Beta3, createRootObject now is the good method to use.

• WHY is Apple E-Mail Alias transfer - so restrictive?

  When my wife signed to Apple she used one of our gmail accounts of his Apple ID, which is great, EXCEPT that I had used this (name) @gmail for an alias iCloud email address (name) @icloud before it is signed on.  Apple does NOT allow me to transfer this alias so my wife can use it as its primary e-mail address Apple, that would be ideal because it reflects his gmail address?

  WHY Apple is so restrictive with the transfer of an e-mail address, whether it is an e-mail alias or principle?

  In the digital world of today, where Apple has made their Apple ID and email iCloud Apple so very well integrated into the overall experience iOS - it makes it incredibly frustrating that we are unable to make a simple email address switch between my wife and me that would make life easier on the whole regarding the centralization of its emails from Apple Mail account.  (Name) she uses is the one that we used it for many years and he move on to something completely different... not a very good option leaves she have to keep using Gmail as their primary e-mail account...

  My OBIEE version is 11.1.1.7.0 years have a cube ASO in Essbase 11.1.2 as my source.

  There is a calculated member ASO which retreival in reports is time consuming.

  Optimization measures proposed to reduce the wait times in OBIEE.

  PS - We have integration Hyperion OBIEE in place already.

  The heads-up on the improvement of the performance would be a great help.

  OBIEE has many ways optimized:

  1. you can use the OBIEE cache management, hitting the first time the ESSBASE CUBE and the second time the OBIEE hit the cache, it improve your processing time.

  2. in your maybe views that you have limited the main information, I mean, OBIEE is a web application bi and if you try to pretend to get a lot of lines, this might give you some problems, as a work around you could limit your opinion, in your 'LINES PER PAGE' properties, and as a work around if you want to get a large amount of data that you download it.

  

  2. If points 1 and 2 shall not apply to your needs, perhaps to think, to use the cache of essbase optimization

• Allow duplicate in Essbase application member names

  I checked 'Allow duplicate members' for my request for ASO (11.1.2.1.00 system). By doing this, I can create members of same name in all dimensions. But the alias names cannot always be duplicated. Is there anyway to use the same alias for multiple member names can be the same size or different dimensions?

  I tested on 11.1.2.1 and managed to create alias duplicate names, you cannot duplicate aliases names / members with the same parent.

• Essbase alias used in OBIEE

  Statement against Essbase, I noticed that the level of dimension "alias" as defined in Essbase is presented OBIEE (and not the original non-alias values). Apart from deleting alias in your layout Essbases, y at - it a setting or option somewhere in OBIEE who would import the original value (and not the alias)?

  Nope. The rule is: If there is an Alias, the alias invades in the contrary case, the original values. You do not disrupt it.

• IKM SQL for Hyperion Essbase (metadata) - problem when you dial the name of the Member

  I need to load the metadata to Essbase to a relational database.
  Essbase: 9.3, Oracle 9i, ODI 10.1.3.5.0
  I have a dimensional table contains the data in the Scenario dimension. The table has 3 columns: code, alias, consolidation.
  Example of 2 lines:
  Effective law-
  BDG budget-
  
  I created a rule file load_scn.rul to update the scenario dimension in my essbase cube and at the launch of the console of administration services it does not work. Each Member has his alias and it is sign of such consolidation as specified in the table.
  
  In ODI
  I created an essbase data store, a data store for my table and an interface. The interface uses the knowledge "IKM SQL for Hyperion Essbase (metadata)" module and the load_scn.rul of State of charge.
  When I run the interface, it will end successfully, but when I check the Essbase outline, the two members were loaded with the name of name of Member composed of all 3 columns in the table dimensional as a single string line!
  I have a member named ' law, real, + "and another called ' bdg, budget,-'."
  Members have no alias and peacebuilding is the default ('+') and not '-' as shown in the dimensional table.
  
  Has anyone of you had this problem? If so, how to solve it?

  Sounds like in the rule under load in the IKM options you have to have the separator rules comma value and data > defined in the tab, replace it with commas in the rule of data source properties.

• Formula Member Essbase ASO (the order of resolution)

  Hello everyone,

  I was hoping to get some opinions on how they would handle a calc question I have.  I built a cube ASO (my first) for the loan on the housing data. A few fields I'm loading are a "Eff Int rate" and "Rate Eff Trans" (below) which are then used to calculate the 'interests Inc. or Exp' and 'transfer Inc. or Exp.

  The challenge I'll have and don't know how to manage in essbase is in what regards running sums.  I have a dimension labeled "Loan account" with about 15,000 members of individual accounts. For all the accounts of members, it works fine however when it gets to the cumulative of the 'loan account' it calculates incorrectly because of the aggregation.  To test, I tried isolating the different ways to make this work with my current solution (as seen in the above Calc) is to reset just the update rollup for now.  However, the ultimate goal would be to have this dimension of 'Loan account' always aggregate the information accurately.  Here's an example to help explain in more detail:

  

  For example, if I were to use the size of the attribute "Loan officer" and then drill at the low level of the 'loan account' it would recover 4 accounts and then those subtotal as stated above.

  I hope someone is able to give me some ideas or outline.  If this isn't the case, I can just try to accomplish in SQL before load my data.

  Bret, I think what you see is a fundamental limitation of ASO.  Stored hierarchies are ALWAYS grouped together in front of a member formulas.  The only real workaround in Essbase is to use a procedural calc of the ASO - this would actually save results to the cube as input data that can then be wound the stored size.

  Click the dimension properties icon right next to the drop-down list of dimension (to the left of the input box where you put the name of the Member in) in the form of row/column design.
  It will have a property for "alias member.

• Essbase security issue

  Thus, we provide access to cubes through shared Services. If it's Essbase only we still just go to PARTY and assign access cube and write filters old old fashioned way? Or should we do in SS and push to Essbase? Also, we have a member named "Other Year". It's there as a treatment. Is there a way to hide visibility with users with a filter? Or they will always be able to see in Excel Addin and Smartview member selection?

• EPMA - invalid member for Plan Type problem

  In the dimension of the Version, we have a member named "Flash worm". We want that it to be valid for the Type of Plan 2 only not Plan Type 1. However the boxes to change this are 'grey '. Any ideas how to fix this?

  I do not think the scenarios or Versions can be isolated to a single plan type. What is the business case behind it all? I wonder if there might be a workaround solution related to safety.

  As we know that there is a restriction on the number of characters, you can enter the name with a BR - y there a way I can have two different names assigned to the BR even in environmental assessments and planning? Something like an alias? Or if it is something that cannot be done then is there a way to make the description appears in the left pane, when the business rule is associated by the dataform?
  
  We have scripts/rules that have short names, but as users are perhaps unable to understand by looking at just the names, was wondering if we could make a little simpler for them but either giving it another name (alias) or at least present the description?
  
  Please let me know your opinion on this.

  1. open the WF_Employee global variable. Combine it with an outline of planning. Click the button for selection of Member under limits. Select the Table of aliases in the drop-down list of Tables aliases. Click OK. Selection of members to the RTP on web-form always displays only the names of the members. Return to the global variable WF_Employee, note that < No. Alias > is selected.
  
  2. open the WF_Employee global variable. Pair it with an Essbase outline. Click the button for selection of Member under limits. Select the Table of Alias from the drop-down list of Tables aliases, and then select the check box use Alias names.   Hi Mehmet,
  I think that it is a default behavior. There have been cases where I used alias member merged with the name of the Member (account name + account code) to address this problem. I'm afraid that there is still no solution to this at least to my knowledge.

  Best practice is to use formula of Member on dynamic members in the dense dimensions.  Performance problems more frequently when you make dynamic Calc scattered members.  I don't think it matters how big the formula is.  What is important is the number of blocks needed to perform the calculation.

  Usually very good performance of the dense Dim formula

  Usually of slow performance of the sparse Sun formula

  Cross-Sun formula worse performance, cross dim in sparse dimension is the least desirable option.

• Federation of Essbase with OBIEE 11g

  I have a hierarchy of accounts unbalanced jagged in the Essbase cube I imported into OBIEE repository in addition to hierarchies of script, Version, entity, period and year. Now I have a secondary table in the Oracle database with account, Version, scenario, with Value entity (Measure) to the level below each hierarchy. I read that for the Federation, the hierarchies must be balanced. In the relational table Account dimension, I have maintained a consistent no. levels with values zero everywhere where the leaves are absent.  Now that the accounts of the Essbase cube hierarchy is unbalanced, how should I design to enable Federation between the cube Essbase and relational table? OBIEE version is 11.1.1.6 and Essbase is 11.1.2.2. Your help is very appreciated.

  The problem was solved by using tables of choice. Also, the relational database table has been filled with the names of the members alias. Then in OBIEE MDB layer, using sparse Lookup, Essbase alias members were used to find the value against the relational database table which served for the lookup table in the MDB layer.
