Workstation HP xw4400 35 code

Hi all

I recently bought a HP xw4400 workstation, I upgraded to 4gig RAM, installed Windows 7 Home Premium, I also purchased and installed a new NVIDIA GTX460 series graphics card.

All installed and updated but uppon restart the dreaded yellow "!" poster on the Vido card on board devices. The error that is displayed is the following:

"Your computer's system firmware includes enough information to properly configure and use this device.  To use this device, contact the manufacturer to obtain a firmware or an update of the BIOS of your computer. (Code 35) »

I looked for salvation and down on the HP site and there is no upgrade for the workstation HP xw4400 for Win7. I uninstalled the map and let win 7 install their own updates and still no luck, reinstalled the drivers that come with the card and no luck once again.

I ran many searches for code 35 and came each time empty-handed.

Any help on how to fix this PCI would be much appreciated that the NVIDIA GTX460 is usless to me in this current state.

OK, HP do not support Win 7 on PC more than Win 7 itself. I managed to get my hands on a BIOS update, and now it works like a dream. How ever, I took a chance on playing with the BIOS it may screw up a lot of things. So now, my HP xw4400 workstation meets with Win 7.

If you choose to use this file, that it is at your own risk, it could make a mess of many or all of your PC hardware, in case of doubt consult a COMPUTER specialist. The file was found on the HP win 7 updates and is named "sp51215" use it may own, but only for workstation HP xw4400 with Win 7.

    Greetings,

We bought the Dells years but has recently begun to give HP a glance. The first unit I received just stopped working during testing of deployment and gives me 3 long beeps (red LED) with 3 short beeps (white LED). According to the manual, this translates, "the on-board controller exceeded waiting for BIOS return the initialization of graphics. I couldn't find the specific troubleshooting steps for this error I did what follows based on the tests that I did:

    -Cleared CMOS

The system only would not start after that application of the BIOS settings using the Configuration BIOS HP utility so maybe something went wrong there. That said, I applied the settings with this tool several times before on the same system without problem, but thought it was worth a start. Here is my config file:

-Exchanged cards (Nvidia Quado K420) video with a known good card. We bought two units to test if I had an identical system to Exchange.

    -Shared memory.

    -Reinstall any cables.

Any ideas on what I should try before you send it again?

Last update 08/08: another IT unit in our Organization has reported the same beep code with one of the Z240s they just bought. For them, the BIOS has refused to save all the settings and could not start later.

    Last update 08/09:

Another machine died today. Same case, technicians were simply trying to configure the BIOS settings. Another detail is that these have been shipped with BIOS version 01.24. I recommend our technicians that they update to version 01.27 for now, but the notes do not mention a specific fix for what we see. I hope someone from HP can jump in here soon...

    Product no.: L8T14AV

For all those who could fall on this thread... I managed to reproduce the problem by going to Configuration of Boot Secure and uncheck the box 'Key activate MS UEFI CA'. After talking with the help of HP, it was determined that we should not be in contact with this option at all. This option is intended for graphics cards configured for backup device from Microsoft.

In addition, there is a bug in the BIOS version 01.24 which prevents the Clear CMOS button to work correctly, so there is no recourse for a person who commits the mistake of setting the option above. HP will provide an update in revision 01.28 to stop people from shooting itself in the foot. It is recommended to update the systems at 01.27 for now.

Finally, we do not have an answer to what happened to systems that could not save changes to BIOS and subsequently on faileed to start. I will update this thread if it becomes something more than an anomaly.

  • Issue of recovery workstation XW4400

Hi all and thanks in advance

I got a workstation HP XW4400 years and I recently updated with a few more memory, a new graphics etc.

I also upgraded from WinXP to Win7(ultimate/64).

I used win7 I used to have a Recovery Manager ("HP Backup and Recovery Manager" or something) that I used to go back to factory settings, but after I installed windows 7 Recovery Manager has disappeared. I am moving back to Xp because it was much more stable and for some reason that I used to get a lot better framerates off games. The recovery partition is still there that I can't start it.

(ive google the problem and tried all combos keys f1 - f12 via ctrl + f1-ctrl + f12 at startup)

    Hello:

Just get a set of recovery disc for your machine. I guess it came with XP, it's the OS that you will receive.

    Here's how to order:

    1. Enter the part number and the serial number on the top of the computer on the Silver label. The model # is a Compaq HP xw4400, but the part number is on this tag silver under the serial No.

    2. call HP at 1-800-952-7689, option 1 (ranking in the list in the option made restore disks).

    3. provide the information asked by the representative who answers the phone. Some simply ask for the serial No., some want at the same time, or they'll want just the serial number and the type of computer (xw4400).

    4. do you have a Master Card or Visa ready for purchase. They do not take discover.  You will be charged $10.00.

You will receive the discs by first class mail, or you can pay an additional $10.00 for shipping FedEx.

  • Passage of the workstation in the Lab manager automation

    Hello

I have a c# code base and allows to connect to VMware workstation VIX. Base code (using VIX) I have to connect to the VM, clone, copy test in him, and then run it.

Recently, in our society, we have decided to go for the Director of the laboratory. Therefore, we must make application to connect to the lab instead of the Workstation Manager. I learned that the VIX API cannot be used to talk to the Manager of laboratory, and I need to use the Lab Manager API.

My question is that I have to completely remove handling VIX and put implementation of Lab Manager API. or I just need to use the API of Lab Manager to connect to the virtual machine, then use VIX API to communicate (i.e. clone, copy data, snapshot, etc.).

    Rizwan

You must only use the Lab Manager API to perform actions you have on various VMs. avoid using the VIX API to manipulate Lab Manager virtual machines since that interfere with the correct operation of Lab Manager and could lead to a potential loss of data. For example, Lab Manager uses its own cloning mechanism and taken of VM snapshots, and the cloning/taking snapshots via VIX will destroy only the Lab Manager virtual machines view.

  • The Hewlett-Packard 786 7 v01.02 BIOS update

    Hello

I installed a nvidia geforce gtx 560 card ti graph in the workstation HP xw4400 of my son as a Christmas gift, and I get the following error message:

"Your computer's system firmware includes enough information to set up and use this.

My understanding is that I need to update the BIOS, but I can't find an update for Hewlett-Packard 786 7 v01.02 on this site. I've attached a screenshot of system information.

Thanks in advance for your support.

The XW4400 is currently in the BIOS v2.07 Rev A, 8 December 2010 , but the history tab provides no story at all... so I can't find the old versions of BIOS and as such can't see if it's OK to jump directly from v1.02 to v2.07 without problem...

But the tab notes relase v2.07 includes following:

This package contains the system BIOS (BIOS family 7 786) and BIOS image the and remote flash utility for the HP xw4400 workstation. These utilities can be used to restore or update THE system BIOS. System BIOS is the operating system
    independent.

If the BIOS linked above is for your XW4400 that uses the BIOS 786 7 family...

But please note that the XW4400 has only updates for XP & VISTA and not Windows8. So the XW4400 updates may or may not work as expected when it is used with Windows 8. Both such and especially with a BIOS update that can be risky, I won't use the method of updating windows (HPQFlash) flashing the BIOS from version HPQFlash may not be completely compatible Win8... Instead, I would like to use the 'flash-BACK' or "BIOS CD" methods.

You can learn more about the different methods of updating BIOS by looking at all the README files in sp51215.exe. You can either run sp51215.exe to unzip the contents of c:\swsetup\sp51215\ (but do not perform a bios update, just close the tool) or 7-zip to directly view the content of sp51215.exe...

Some other info on your error code 35 can be seen here and here.

As a species at HP by doing as little work as possible, my still under warranty Z210 running Win7 Pro 64 bit has issues with Estate HDD support. The last driver from HP TSRI is version 10.6.0.1002, which plays well with my hard drives Estate because they appear as removable devices... But Intels TSRI version 12.9.0.1001 driver supports chipsets "cougar point" and so I can finally esata hard drive appears as removable devices...

Unfortunately, HP has not bothered to update their drivers for centuries and they stay with a 10.6.0.1002 defective TSRI pilot... As you seem, HP wont always do the necessary work, and it's on a support and still under warranty machine... I call it "HP." Support '...

The update of the BIOS may or may not help your situation, but in all cases, you have still some problems with drivers and the Windows 8 to settle as the XW4400 was never certified for Win8. You may need to perform a job detective to ensure that drivers, especially the chipset drivers, used during the Win8 installed and updates post install actually support the hardware itself... He is a guy to know what is the problem that the documents appear to be getting dumbed down and therefore, you will need to do a lot of reading...

Otherwise, you could try to install a different generation or make card but a bike may have been a more easy Christmas gift...

  • XW6600 box MOD not video

I'll try to make this short.

    I bought a new motherboard XW6600 with:

    Two Xeon 5160

4 GB of RAM (and four others I bought later)

A XW8600 PSU I have with a modified Extender I've done (plan I did below).

Two Seidon Cooler Master 120 v with an adapter by hand.

    A 650 GTX

It lights up (fans and all work apparently ), RAM and processors heat up, but I get nothing on the screen. In addition, I don't know if the MB will beep or not because I do not know the speaker is going.

Technical manual troubleshooting pages does not help us either.

Any ideas? The only thing 'wrong' that remains is the pins on the fans, who do not have the second tachomether, as were fans of the original, but I don't think it's really important.

    Help, please.

    Thank you in advance.

Do a search in this forum for "pinout" and you will find details on the special pins that are used in the harness to the connector before the xw6400.  Those who are very similar to the pinout for the xw6600 and xw8600 details.

That should help with the issue of speaker wire...

The wiring for the fans matter.  Processor for the xw6400 coolers have a jumper wire to pin (ground) to pin 5, but those for the xw6600s have no such rider.  Those who have a set of 4 wire, then one empty 5th pin site.  You can see if you look on eBay at the xw6400 versus xw6600 cooler ends of connector.  Cut the wire to the fan of xw6400 makes the equivalent of a xw6600 fan.  Fans of HP workstation I work with are controlled PWM and the following sequence of 1-4, + 12vDC, sense rpm of the engine to the motherboard, and control signals the motherboard PWM motor circuit.  One of these PWM fans will see rise in RPM if you bring the butterfly wire PWM and just give 12v.  Most of us run fans always at the lowest global setting in the BIOS... for large hot projects, some of us will be ramp their place in the BIOS for the duration of that, then back down the lowest.  I use some bottom of Noctua 4 son and cards ultra low resistance noise my xw6600 dropout fan (ULNA) chipset and memory of the fan RPM (LNA) because the planned values are too high, in my experience.

With 80 watt processors, you don't hit demand for the motherboard for a 'double height' heatsink / fan that can be integrated with the xw6600s despite the existence only in room for those in the xw8600 (which has a thicker casing).  No xw6600 listed processors have a TDP max beyond 80 watts, but some for the xw8600 do, and motherboard of the xw8600 wants to see the wiring that comes from a processor double height double fan cooler if a processor with TDP max 120W or is in place.  Things get a little complicated.

I have several xw6400s running of two E5160s (dual core) and I use both of them, if the motherboard cannot run the fastest quadcores for this workstation (E5345s; SLAEJ sSpec code is the latest version).  But you have a motherboard xw6600 , not a xw6400 one.

These E5160s will not work on the xw6600.  My recommendation for this most recent motherboard is two processors image E5450, sSpec SLBBM (the newest, once again).  If you are running programs that are eager to base that you can run two hearts faster clock speed.  Who all are listed in the latest QuickSpecs, attached.  Two SLBBMs will cost you around $85,00 off eBay these days.

Always run the latest processor walk because they are of a more recent design of Intel and cost more off eBay in general.  I've never had a xw6600 not to execute what I wanted as long as the processor was in the latest QuickSpecs and I was using the latest BIOS.  This is in contrast with the xw6400 (that question is posted on the forum here, where some cards mothers xw6400 does not have the E5345s and some).

Be sure to always run the latest version of the BIOS, because there the latest HP patches and the latest "firmware" list that determines which processors can operate in a HP workstation.  Your E5160s are not in the list of firmware xw6600s and does not work.  I tried to get around this rule, a good number of times where both directions and always failed.  Everything simply because of the chipsets on a motherboard HP 'should' accept a processor does not mean that the motherboard will be.  Microcode rule above has not yet been proven wrong.  From my experience if you put a processor unlisted in then BIOS will stop beyond that you currently hold.

You can go down slower processors for the double xw6600 list eBay market very good heart, and I put out extras.  Start with one of those, then later for two SLBBMs when you get up things and race walk, with BIOS updated.  You end up with a near equivalent Z620 middle level, and this is my preferred approach budget currently.  I add an Intel SATA Gnraton II (3Gbps) 160 or 300 GB series 320 SSD as my boot drive, W7Pro64 and a '2 x 2' USB3.0-oriented HP TI card in the slot PCIe x 16 lower, and I kept 2 k with virtually the same user experience.  I have access to the Z620s to work for comparison and they are great workstations when running the latest BIOS and drivers, but I am very happy with the xw6600 inflated upwards.  In addition, it is a good project.

Keep us... These coolers look nice.  Maybe you can harvest the fans off the original HP heat sinks and use them.  Have at least one of these fans tuned for your first start for each correct processor.  The motherboard gives the installed memory/processors and the fans present and makes decisions based on this info he sees.  You can usurp the motherboard by some tricks, however, as giving it a CPU fan, he wants to see.

  • Recovery of missing or damaged Configuration file

We have a workstation HP xw4400 running Windows XP.  At startup, you get the following message:

    C:\windows\system32\config\system missing or damaged

We do not have a system CD or restore disk.

After the message preceding, we can access the window restore.  He gives us two options.  First of all, to save the files, what we do, and secondly to restore the HD.  When you start this process there is a warning that you restore it to its original settings, and that all files, applications, etc. added since then will be lost.

Given that the backup files are on the hard drive, they will be not lost too?  Or are they stored in a separate partition which is not cleared?

What is the best way to recover from this situation?

You must move the backup files to another (internal, external, or CD/DVD) storage device to ensure that they are not lost during the process of recvoery.

O.K. I realize there has been a lot of questions and answers on this topic.  I'm still a little confused. Here's my problem. I have a workstation HP xw4400 Intel Pentium 3.4 Ghz.  He is currently 32-bit XP.  The walk inside only 100Gig and has been partitioned. (I wasn't the one who made it)  I want to move to 7 64 bit and install a new 500 GB drive. I backed up all my data and bought more memory and a new SATA drive.  I want to remove the old drive, using one day who, as a backup to disk, but for now, I have everything I need..., install a new drive and install windows 7 64 bit (upgrade).  I have HP a HP disc that says OS.  This disc has xp on it, I also have my xp software PID number. I can see it in the general tab, under xp.  Is this enough for verification? What are the steps to a clean drive using upgrade 64-bit Windows 7 with a new drive...  Again sorry for the questions again and again... but everyone has different problems...

You first need to reinstall Windows XP on the new drive, then you can do a custom installation of Windows 7 64 bit on it.
