Worried about my product keys... (an ignorant question)

I did my Windows XP virtual machine and it looks good, but I'm starting to feel like I'd better use Boot Camp instead and simply configure a Boot Camp virtual machine.  Only and I guess this shows just my personal ignorance, I am worried if I can do it.  I've already used one of my installs for Windows Live OneCare, MS Office, not to mention the XP client code.  I'll be able to use the keys without problem when I install on boot camp?

I would like to remove my windows virtual machine to the current address of Fusion and install my Windows OS on Boot Camp and to run a virtual machine to Boot Camp by merger. I have problems using the product keys for Windows?

As I said, you will need to reactivate (because the hardware is different). If this will be problematic depends on the type of license you have (for example, with an OEM copy, you have to call Microsoft, while a volume license should have no problem).

  • Two questions about my product keys

    (1) I have 2 computers on Windows 7, both of them have now been upgraded to Windows 10.

Now, however, I have a new computer that does nothing about it. IS that IT WORKS if I use my product keys for Windows 7 on this new computer and then not upgrade the computer to Windows 10?

    (2) I have a product key on my laptop. It might belong to Windows Vista or Windows 7, I can't say. Is there an online tool, or some sort of site where I can type my code and see which version of the product key belongs to? The only other thing I thought was calling or chatting with a MS customer service agent to discover the truth.

    That's all!

    Thanks for reading.

The laptop is running on a Linux distribution and has been for more than a year.

I spoke with someone from the Office of MS response and he confirmed my product key for Windows Vista Edition family.

  • Product key Windows 7 questions.

We have now installed windows 7 Home premium on three of our computers. and we installed on the third at the moment 30 days ago and by some strange reason we type the key product again. and when we use the P key - we receive this message "to get a new license. One of the Microsoft Staff can help us, but any help is appreciated. Thank you for taking the time to read this.

If you use the same product key on all computers, you're violating the terms of the license agreement. You can use the 1 key by compuetr only. In other words, you must 1 windows 7 per computer.

There used to be a pack 3 for 3 computers, but this is no longer supported. If you have just 1 upgrade or full version 1, your systems will be stopped. Ron

  • Questions: product key for Win 7 Home Prem-64 bit on renovated 6000 HP Office

    Hello

I'm looking for assistance. A few questions about my product key and my type of PC.

I bought a refurbished Hewlett Packard 6000 PC from Best Buy in 2011 and it is come preinstalled (no windows disk) with Windows 7 Home Premium (64 bit) OS. It is authentic.

It has 2 hard drives. The big one is a 750G which has 2 partitions (part devoted only to the BONE and space remaining for usual use and still has plenty of space to breathe (585G).) Then, there is a disc of 14G it's strictly for the restoration of windows and recovery. It is nearly full with about 1 G to save.

I am not sure I want 10 Windows because it seems to be so many problems and I cannot afford a new PC hardware or download new software at the moment and I need my PC for a living. I use Norton 360 Security and backup on an external hard drive at the moment.

    1) if I try Win 10 and decide I don't like, I will always be able to return to my original Windows 7 Home Premium?

    2) if I need, can I use my product key with another disc of Windows 7 Home Premium is exactly what I have installed now (did not come with my PC), or is it illegal? I do not want to break the law or action illegal without knowing it.

Since Windows 10 came out, I had problems with my PC more.

From what I can tell, t seems to behave more like a "domain server" one "computer staff home.»

I restored it to factory twice during this time settings, but I keep my automatic windows update and I wonder if there may be some updates that should not be installed due to the release of 10 windows that add to the question.

    3) when it passes through their free offer 10 widows, it is a full version? And does go from Win 7 to 8 Win, then to win 10? Or just have it go right to win 10 of Win 7?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks in advance.

Installation of the HP factory is the worst install of Windows, you can have, entrelardé a ton of bloatware that duplicates and interferes with the older versions of built-in features of the operating system, suffers from endless problems.  Therefore no tech fan would have never run the installation of the factory (or an upgrade on Windows 10 place) but prefer clean reinstall Windows 7 with the product key on the COA sticker.

Now check if the product key on the COA sticker is there and readable.  It took for them to sell you Windows software pre-installed to legally.

If Yes, then you can solve all these problems at once by a Clean install Windows 10 Upgrade skip the product key during install then after activation with your Windows 7 key.  As long as stick you with tools and methods in the link that you will have no problem because there is no reported for those who follow.

Do not hesitate to ask back and let us now how it goes.

  • Where can I find a "product key" for Microsoft Office Word 2007.

When I try to open Microsoft Office Word 2007, which is installed on my computer, I get this pop up asking for my product key. I have no knowledge of a product key and I don't know where it can be located. Anyone has an idea about this 'product key '.

    Thank you

Hello, the product key is normally printed in the retail packaging or is sent in the confirmation email in case you made a digital purchase. However there is a support forum for the mozilla firefox browser. If you continue to have problems to get the desktop software to work, please contact support Microsoft instead since it is their product.

  • How can I find the product key for a specific OEM drive?

    Product key for reinstallation question

I want to reinstall Windows XP on my Dell computer.  I have the oem disc, but it is mixed with the other two provided with two other computers Dell oem disks that were purchased at the same time.  The sticker on my computer displays a product key.  When I do a search for product key on the computer using a program key finder, sometimes with a different product key.  Which should I use and is at - there a way to find the product key on the disc?  Thanks for any help.

PS. the unattend.txt to disk file is NOT the correct product key.

If the drive of a Dell computer with the same edition of the OS, then you can use the disc - I think that each of them will have the same key as the one that is currently installed (and that on your sticker)

Computers, which are built by large manufacturers provided with pre-installed Windows are supplied with 2 two product keys:

    (A) OEM SLP: this key comes pre-installed in Windows, when it comes to the factory. This key is designed to work with Bios OEM flag only on the hardware of this manufacturer. Then, when Windows was installed using the OEM SLP (in factory) Windows key leans on the motherboard and he sees the flag proper Bios OEM (for the manufacturer and the version of Windows) and activates.

    (B) SLP COA: it's the product key that you see on the sticker on the side, bottom or (for some laptops) in the compartment of the battery from your computer. It's a valid product key, but it should be used only in certain situations (for example, when the OEM SLP key stops automatic activation for a reason any). The key must be activated by phone.

  • Windows XP Setup will not accept my product key

I am re-installing ona XP laptop, but the installation of Windows XP will not accept my product key. I have an OEM of a Dell PC product key that is no longer functional, and a update product key which is not null else, neither of which works.

I can't even do the installation to achieve the activation step.

    Link to the entire conversation:

    Huh?
    • You have a Dell system, and with this Dell, you have a product key for Windows XP (edition?) - it would be an OEM key be used with an OEM installation CD.
    • You seemed to have bought (where?) a copy of "Retail" / license for Windows XP (edition?) - which would have its own retail product key to be used with a retail installation CD.
    What does not work:
    • using the CD to retail with the product key OEM on Dell machine sticker
    • by using the product key from retail with OEM installation media which might come with the Dell printer
    • have an installation CD OEM with an edition of Windows XP (Home and Professional vs Media Center 2002 vs Media Center 2005, etc.) and you try to use the product key OEM for another edition of Windows XP (Home and Professional vs Media Center 2002 vs Media Center 2005, etc) (editions must match, House can is complicated in this grouping too.)
    • have an installation CD retail with an edition of Windows XP (Home and Professional vs Media Center 2002 vs Media Center 2005, etc.) and you try to use the product key from retail sales to another edition of Windows XP (Home and Professional vs Media Center 2002 vs Media Center 2005, etc) (editions must match, House can is complicated in this grouping too.)
So is that what you are trying to do?  Why did you buy the CD/product key for sale at retail and the editions correspond?

If you're not at the point where you will have to enter the product key - why do you think that the product key is the question? Hah

You do not have * one * key product. You probably have a product key for each of several different products. For example, if you are running Windows 7, you certainly have a Windows 7 product key. If you have Microsoft Office installed, you have an Office product key. And if Norton uses a product key, then you have a Norton product key. And many other programs use product keys too. A unique product key cannot be used for several products.

So when you say "I need to know where to find my product key number. I can't use some programs without it"which makes no sense. Each of the programs that you can not use has its own product key, so please tell us what programs you have the subject and where you got the programs. Each program should have with his own product key in the package he came.

And a remaining issue: If you ask about a product key for programs that are part of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.) and Office supplied with your computer, and you have no product key so that it is almost certainly what you have only a trial version of Office. Your trial period has expired and if you want to continue using it, you must now buy the product and get a key for this.

  • Installed Home Premium, but would like my old Windows Ultimate product key...

So, I got this laptop I use customized online, it's a clevo p150 I believe... and it came with Windows Ultimate...

Failure of my hard drives last year and I had to start. I could not find my product key, so I used an old Vista CD I got from my last laptop that came with a free upgrade to Win 7 Home Premium. Now, I want to clean my own system again, and I want to install the ultimate which accompanies this origin,... However, I don't know where to find this product key.

How can I go about it? And thanks for any help that can be offered.

Yes, the product keys are stored in the BIOS of our days, but unfortunately, it's for Windows 8 or 8.1 only and not available in Windows 7.

About the product key, you can take a look at the following link:

  • Upgrade Windows Vista Home Premium (not the valid product key problem) to Windows 7 Home premium

My friend gave a laptop computer whose OS is Windows Vista Home Basic Edition.  I format the computer and install a Windows Vista Home Premium I have for my desktop computer.  Now, I have a problem with a product key.  When I start the laptop, it indicates a product key requirement.  I enter my desktop OS product key, but I still see the declaration valid product key.  My question is this.  If I buy the upgrade to Windows 7, the operating system will work in the laptop even if she has a problem with the product key.  If I buy Windows 7 upgrade, there will be no problem with the product key?  Or do I have to buy a new Windows Vista Home Premium for the laptop?  Or if you know anywhere I can buy a product key for Windows Vista with a reasonable price?  Thank you

You cannot transfer a license from another computer to another computer, especially if the license came with this machine. You will need to purchase a new license.

Yes, you can purchase a license of Windows 7 Edition upgrade Home Premium and use it.

Where can I still get Windows 7?

Full version - Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium

Version upgrade - Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium Upgrade

Something like Belarc to find your product key. The only other way to reorganize the recovery media to restore factory system, if they still have this will restore also your product key as well. Otherwise, you will need to purchase a new product key for Microsoft if you reformatted the system with a different version of Windows 7 other then what comes from the factory install.
