WPA Migration mode

We have Cisco Aironet 1130AGs. We'll get our network to WPA, but now it's all WEP. I would like to implement WPA Migration mode on all of our access points so accessible to WEP and WPA, clients but I have problems of implementation. Someone at - it a step by step guide for this?

Thank you

  • WEP to WPA migration / easy deployment to wireless clients tools

    Hello

I would like to learn all the tools that I could use for the deployment of wireless to wireless clients settings in our local network. I came across some links in Microsoft using Group by AD (GPO) policy, but GPO seems more than one deployment of operating system or applications, have not seen anything that the wireless.

You know all the tools, Cisco wireless, or even MS GPO management clients if this can be done with easy deployment of WEP to WPA change.

The tool should deployment SSID, WPA pre-shared key.

    Hello

MS group policy will do, no problem.

If you create a new policy for your ad group (or use your default GP) and go to properties-> the Computer Configuration-> Windows settings-> security settings-> wireless-> Create New strategies-> follow all the next, next, next steps and then add the details of your WLAN.

If you use a separate policy to the default policy, make sure that the policy options you check otherwise default group policy will stop the new parameters being the subject of a push to your ORGANIZATIONAL unit. The next time that the machine joins the domain, the settings will be drawn down and can connect to the WLAN.

If you use a MS domain is the best way to do it (both with the help of your customer WZC) and no third party tools i.e. Intel etc.

    I hope this helps.

  • How to migrate users/roles/Essbase with Essbase 11.1.2.2 11.1.1.3 filters?

    Hello

Essbase: Security Mode native Essbase 11.1.2.2 and Windows Server 2008 R2 64 bit

I have about 30 Cubes, 40 + roles and 300 + users in Essbase 11.1.1.3 to migrate Mode native Essbase 11.1.2.2.  Magician breaks.  If not, how can I bring these security? I'm fine with the cubes.   Please H.E.L.P..

LCM expected to do, although there are one or two here on people with special difficulties with 11.1.1.3 to 11.1.2.2 (by the way, looking for space and EMP Infrastructure one would likely throw up lots of useful information - not to mention Google to search Network54 etc.), and filter assignment seems to be a common problem.

  • WiFi 802.11n

I connect to a Linksys WRT610N Ver 2. My Droid X 2 connects as g instead of n. It does not even show the SSID of 5 GHz. It shows the connection speed is 54 Mbps and shows it as connected as Wireless-G router. Is there something I need to do to activate Wireless N? My Droid X 2 is defective?

I doubt that your X 2 is defective. It seems that people have had similar problems in the community of the Xoom.

I borrowed the money a Xoom boards very similar thread (), but they still apply:

-In the advanced wireless settings, frequency band parameter must be 'Auto' or '5 GHz only.

-Your router should broadcast its SSID. (If another device that was never connected to your router can be seen, that means it's ok)

-Xoom supports only the main channels in the 5 GHz band: channels are 36 40 44 48 149 153 157 161. Can you try to configure your router to one of these channels?

-There's been new WiFi Alliance requirements: we cannot support WEP and WPA - PSK mode N.

This means that if your router is set to N mode only (does not support a mode), you must set the security to open or WPA2-PSK. If your router is set to joint A & N and WEP or WPA - PSK mode, Xoom will not use rates of N and the maximum rate is 54 Mbps.

  • Problems with 9191 chassis for connection to a wireless network

    Hello

I can't seem to connect a 9191 unit to our network wireless with WPA authentication mode. I am trying to connect to based on SonicWALL TZ 105 Wireless access point router. Our wireless network is configured with the WPA2-PSK security. When I go to the page of network configuration of 9191 our network appears, but then I get the error 'Invalid WEP Key' when I enter the security key and try to save the configuration (see picture). I tried to use the configuration according to MAX and the web. I have also established that the wireless connection can be done if I change the security mode of the router to WEP, but neighther WPA - PSK or WPA2-PSK work. I have not tried security modes of type business because they are not setup on our network. I tried to play with the WPA security settings, but did not have much chance.

Any advice will be much appreciated!

    Kind regards

    Misha

    Hi Misha.

Apologies for not being clear - I was referring to the memory on the option of manual entry.

Under network, select "other network".  This will allow to you manually type of entry security, SSID (network name) and WPA - PSK passphrase.

  • Adding older computers to E3000 network home

I just bought a Cisco E3000 router and set it up to replace my old router wireless G router (WRT54G) using the supplied CD of Cisco.  He has been activated on a new Toshiba, under Win7 Home Premium laptop and worked well.  Then I created an easy installation on a flash drive key to add my old computer to the new network.  Two old computers are running Windows XP - SP3 and have Linksys WPC54G Notebook adapters (ver 2).  I've disabled the notebook adapter management software and enabled the option of networking Windows wireless via the control panel.  I ejected from the adapter first and restarted the old computer first.  However, the adapter does not connect using Cisco connect from a USB Flash drive.

Here are the details of the error:

    Error code: 82BD0115
Error description: wireless adapter does not support WPA or WPA2.
    Model name: unknown
    Model number: E3000
    Serial number: CVQ01KA24133
    Firmware version: unknown
Operating system: Windows XP SP 3
    Software version: 1.2.10218.1
    Connection type (WAN): unknown
    (LAN) IP address: unknown
    (WAN) IP address: unknown
    The computer IP address: 0.0.0.0

Ironically, I had put so much the new laptop as Win7 and laptop older topic under Win XP - SP3 to my old WRT54G uning WPA-Personal (see the thread titled here "should I replace my WRT54G?" as of 17/01/2011).

The wireless adapter on your computer does not support WPA/WPA2 mixed mode.  To make your two computers to go online wireless, you must change the security mode on your router for WPA or WEP, but this will make your Cisco Connect software stops working.

If you want to use the Cisco Connect software then you must buy a new wireless adapter that supports WPA2/WPA Security Mode.

  • E1000 only connects using wep

I use the E1000 for months. I have 2 iphones, an ipod, a netbook windows 7 and a macbook connected wireless to it. It is set to wpa2/wpa mixed mode all this time without problem. Out of the blue: no wireless connection on any device. I restarted the modem, router, PC, phones, etc. I've updated the firmware. The only way I can get a wireless connection is to use wep. How can I return the best security and speed of wpa2?

I did a 30 30 30 hard reset and started to charge. I reconfigured all my devices and left the default settings on the router. It works fine now. Thanks again for your help.

  • I need to replace my WRT54G?

I have a WRT54G ver 3 I installed the firmware to verersion 4.21.1 as I am trying to add a new Windows 7 laptop with a Wireless N adapter to my home wireless network.  I can still connect my old XP SP3 computer to the Internet, but the new laptop still does not connect (I use DSL).  It detects the SSID and displays 'limited connectivity' to the WRT54G and no Internet connection.  The limited connection knows the router has WEP encryption and returns the correct encryption key, but it the IPv4 and IPv6 protocols show no network access.  Aside from obvious speed gains, if I need to replace my wireless router and it must therefore be a double tape drive to work with my 54 Mbps G-adapter on my old laptop and the laptop card Intel(r) Centrino Advanced-N 6200 AGN on the new computer?

Connect the computer to the router with the Ethernet cable.

    Open the router configuration page.

Go to the Wireless tab and change the name of the wireless network SSID (create a new wireless network). Change the channel to 11. Save the settings.

Click the wireless security sub tab and change the security to WPA Personal mode. Enter the password for your wireless network. Save the settings.

Go to the sub-tab to Wireless MAC filter and make sure that it is disabled.

Go wireless advanced settings. Change the tag to 75 interval, RTS threshold and fragmentation to 2306. Save the settings.

Now try to connect to the new network wireless on the old XP computer.

Then try to connect to the network wirelessly on the computer windows 7.

  • WRT160N - slow WiFi

    My wired connection is fine.

The beach is very well at 100 percent.

My wireless download speed is horrible.

I did not bring any changes to one of the parameters, because I don't know a lot about routers.

    Any help is appreciated.

On your configuration page of the router, on the tab without thread below, change the "Width" and "Channel" to AUTO, and then change the Security Wireless WPA Personal Mode, and then try to connect to your wireless network...

If it still does not, then I think that you need to update the firmware on your router. You can download the firmware on the Linksys website and download the firmware on it. Once the firmware is downloaded on your router, you must reset your router and reconfigure all the settings in this topic from scratch.

  • E1200 WiFi falls 80% new packages computers, computers relatively old and wired OK

    Router: E1200 2.0.02 build 3 February 15, 2012

    These symptoms are stumping me:

WiFi removes the packages of 80% of new computers (Win7, IPv4 active andIPv6) to internet hosts reliable.  WiFi is OK (0% loss) of new computers to E1200 himself (ping address IP E1200).

Old computers, wired and mobile devices are OK for reliable internet hosts.

Basic wireless settings are mixed, Auto channel width.  Wireless security is set to WPA2/WPA Mixed Mode.  Active guest access.

I installed a lot of routers E1200 with good results but have never seen this set of symptoms.  Any ideas?

    Thank you!

Reduce the MTU value has not been set.

Thanks to a thread related http://homecommunity.cisco.com/t5/Wireless-Routers/E1200-very-slow-wireless/td-p/492752/page/3, the following configuration works around the problem.  I reduced the difficulty of configuration for the following two parameters:

    Under Wireless:

    • Basic wireless settings: channel width: 20 MHz only (automatic has been activated previously, 40 confirmed MHz previously)

    Applications and games

    • QoS - make all disabled. (WMM enabled previously)

Again, the only affected customers were relatively new computers, presumably with new 802.11 n batteries.

  • Connection problems with WUSB300N and E4200

    Hello

I wonder if someone can help out me. I bought an E4200 router to replace my old WRT150N. I got a WUSB300N connected properly to the old router, but it does not connect to the E4200. I have a guest network set up on this subject, and the adapter can connect to it, so I am at a loss as to why it does not connect. Anyone think that has something to do with the type of security, I have set up? I had WPA2 on my WRT150N and E4200 WPA2/WPA mixed mode.

The adapter is located on a desktop running Win XP.

    Thank you!

Before suggest you troubleshooting steps, I have a few questions. As when you connect to a wireless network it appears an error message? Check as well the wireless settings on the router.

[A] with the help of the Cisco Connect software (if at all, you have installed the router using this software)

1] open the software and go to the option that says "settings of the router.

[2] then click on the option that says 'Advanced settings', which will take you to the router configuration page.

[3] then go to the wireless network mode tab keep as mixed,

For 2.4 GHz string parameters, you can make the channel width to channel 6, 9, 11 and 20 MHz only...

For the 5 GHz channel parameters, you can do channel width to 20 MHz only and channel 40 or 161...

[B] If you have not installed Cisco connect then you can connect to the router's user interface using its default IP address in the browser which is 192.168.1.1 and enter "admin" as password empty username field. This will take to the web interface of the router and then follow the steps as indicated above to make the changes.

  • Linksys E1200 with Verizon Fios Actiontec

Hello. I bought the E1200 Linksys because it is Wireless N and the guest account. Please help me configure my new router Linksys E1200 to use for Wireless N instead of my Verizon Fios provided Actiontec (model place M4124-WR), which is only G wireless, and so that I can use the guest account. I have an ethernet cable from one of the 4 ethernet ports on the E1200 to one of the 4 ports LAN on the Actiontec. I have the wireless off on the Actiontec and have the E1200 defined as 192.168.1.200.

My Wireless N signal seems to work very well in the E1200 and I managed to activate the account invited on the E1200 and 'connect' on my iPhone 4, but then when I open Safari I can't connect to the internet.

Thanks for trying to help, but I had worked after a phone call with a cisco/linksys support person. I had to make the following changes:

The default gateway on Linksys E1200 after a hard reset is 192.168.1.1... I had to change the default gateway on Linksys E1200 to 192.168.5.1

Connected to port LAN 1 of the Actiontec to the Internet on the Linksys E1200 port.

Connected to the computer to port LAN 1 Linksys E1200.

Off the Linksys E1200 and the modem (Actiontec) for 30 seconds. Then, back on the Actiontec until what the internet light turned on, and then turned back on Linksys E1200.

Made sure that the wireless security page has been set to WPA2/WPA Mixed Mode because apparently the acct comments not use WPA WPA2.

  • Intermittent Internet connection with WPC100 and WRT110

I bought a router WRT110 wireless several weeks ago.  Used with my WPC55AG without any problem at all.  I liked the wireless-N, so I decided to upgrade to a Wireless N notebook card and bought a WPC100.  I can still connect to the router with the signal strength of 100%.  However, when you try to access the Internet, sometimes I can connect to Web sites, but I regularly get an Internet Explorer error message cannot connect to the internet, even if the signal is always 100%.

Tried to go back to my WPC55AG and not to make any connection error messages.  Tried to connect to my router with my PSP and not to make any connection error messages.  Connected to another router wireless that didn't have WPA or WEP using my WPC100 and did not have any connection error messages...

    Any ideas?  Thank you!

I changed my router settings as you suggested, with the exception of the security mode - I left it to WPA - 2 because I wanted the extra security.  It worked fine for a day, until I restarted my laptop...

Then I tried to use your router suggested settings and set the WPA security mode and it works very well for 2 days and several reboots!

Thank you very much for your help with this!
