Wrap around... absolutely nothing to the text?

I was working on a file that had some text wrapping around a logo. I needed to create a variant of this file by increasing the width of half an inch. I have reset the size of the document and saved the new file. I then moved the encapsulated type and logo to accommodate the new size, and here is where things have gone bizarrely wrong. The text is not wrapping correctly. I went to my settings in the text wrap palette and they were always correct. Ttext it was not depending on the settings. I then clicked on the logo and off the scarf, and the test was STILL ENVELOPPANT. What? I moved the logo completely away, and yet the text still wrapped around something that was there, but now was not. Essentially, I have a Ghost logo in my new file, still located in its original position, which makes my text surround. There is nothing there, so I can't select or delete it. What Miss me here?

  • CS5 - label Wrap around a cylinder (as the label of wine or pop can)

[This is not a question specific to Windows, I do not exclude this response Mac users, but there is no platform neutral forum here]

In Photoshop CS3 and earlier, taking a layer, such as a label of a bottle of wine or a jar, wrapping around a cylinder 3D and compositing of a picture (of the real jar or bottle) was almost trivially easy.

Unfortunately, with the 3D tools made available in CS4 +, the simplicity of the scarf > cylinder option seems to have been lost.

Wrapping a complex texture around a cylinder (full coverage, up and down) is possible, but what about a packaging label (especially one that has a cut that is to say: not a full coverage)?

A few quick searches have surprisingly turned up no tutorials on the subject. What was once a simple technique became so technical and obscure?

Can someone point me to a tutorial (video or written), or provide a list of steps here on this forum?

    Thank you!

    Hello

Sketch for this exercise is to generate a 3D cylinder, creating illustrations to wrap around the cylinder, duplicate, then modify this work to be used as a mask and then reorganize the 3D on a composite element together.

Then the basic steps, I used to do this:

    (1) new 1024px x 512px, RGB doc/white background.

    (2) 3D > new mesh from grayscale > cylinder.

    (3) window > 3D. Choose the material 'Background '.

    (4) in the bottom of the 3D Panel, select the texture of contextual opacity and choose 'Remove Texture' (you will add back to step 10).

    (5) in the same box, select texture broadcasts pop up and choose "OpenTexture"... »

    (6) here's where you add the label icon you want to bend around the cylinder. I used a layer style of text layer w/race for this example.

    (7) when you work as you want, layer > duplicate layer to a new file.  This new file will be used for the texture of opacity that masks the area of the label to give you irregular shapes (ie. cut).

    (8) to select all the pixels in the layer and edit them to white, and then on a new layer under black fill. It's your new card of the opacity. Save it in a working directory for use in the next step, and close the file. Also, save and close the file of the work of stage 5/6 (it is stored as a smart object in the original of the stage 1 file)

    (10) back with the original file from step 1 (with the selected 3D layer) in the bottom of the 3D Panel, select the texture of contextual opacity and choose "Load Texture... ». Go to the texture of opacity to step 8 and choose 'open '.

    (11) you should now see just your dress-up work of label in a cylindrical shape. You can use the tool rotation of the 3D camera to visualize the different angles.

    (12) now bring your jar for compositing image. Where is manipulating the 3D layer to align the scale and perspective can get complicated. I try to use the tools of camera 3D for this work (with the object overall scaling an exception). I also use the "Illustration" rendered preset Shaded to help visualize.

I hope that it becomes to some of your questions. This is a related title of Dr. Brown for CS4 that the interaction of the demos and reinforces aspects of texture mapping: http://tv.adobe.com/watch/the-russell-brown-show/creating-transparent-3d-globe-graphics/

  • Text wrapping will not be in the text block

I am changing the content on a block of text in Illustrator using a JavaScript file.

    My method is as follows:

    changeLayer = doc.layers.getByName(textKeys[t]);

    changeLayer.textFrames.getByName(textKeys[t]).wrapInside = true;

    changeLayer.textFrames.getByName(textKeys[t]).contents = textArray [textKeys [t]];

Basically, I set wrapInside to true and then I replace the content of the block of text with a string.

However, rather than the text as you wish, Illustrator print everything on one line expands the size of the text block (and sleep) to adapt the text on a single line. Even when I put explicitly the width and height of the image in the script, it shrinks the text to fit on a single line in the rather enveloping framework. If I explicitly set the size of the police he then extends the framework once again, but only on a single line. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

  • How to organize a table like 'move with the text' and 'around and underneath "? For now, my only option in the menu drop-down is "in line with text.

Hello. I am trying to format a table, so that when I hit it, it moves to the bottom of the page and the bumps any text underneath down as well (that is if you can see the whole table and all text at any time)

    .

However, the only options I seem to have are moving with the text > inline with the text. The first part is what I want, but having the means of inline with the text of table than all text below it floats UNDER the table, and you can't read it.

PIC 1 - My only option when "move with the text" is selected. As you can see all the other features are also grayed out.

Photo 2 - I want now, select above and below, but when I select something other that in line with the text...

PIC 3... it jumps to stay on the Page option is not what I want.

    Any ideas?

You can have a floating table in v4.3 Pages ' 09 that moves before the text typed before it, but this feature has not been added to any release of v5 Pages. Simply set the table in the Wrap Pages ' 09 Inline with the text Inspector, and object causes the film if you wish.

  • In the design of the text alignment jumps around, even when the value "align top".

    Hi all

I worked in a pamphlet that someone else created, and I have a problem with the text boxes. No matter what I set the alignment (align the top, in this case), it jumps around whenever I move the text box. For example, I try to move the box to the top, and the text inside it moves down. I move the box to the top, "centered" the text becomes. In fact, when he arrives at the margin, he's going above it all. The text inside the box is located just to the right of the margin, even though the box itself moves upward. The principal is also greater than it should be. When I take the text box on the page completely and put it next to the document, the leader returns to normal and it is aligned to the top.

  • Wrap text around a table in the same period, possible?

Is it possible to get the text to wrap around a table, without having to make the array in its own framework (as a separate object)? Of course the table would have its width less than the width of the text block, enough so that the text could flow into the empty space next to it (see photo).

    sample text wrap.jpg

It is my intention to do them in the same frame so that she would follow the traffic whenever there are changes. I know that I can use the anchored object tool, but it has its limitations (which must be on the same page as - and - below the insertion point). When I do a report with sequential numbering - as in this case the notes, table and figures, etc. - and correctly generate a table of contents (to be in order) depends very much on the position of each element (even the location of the insertion points). If an item is in the same frame, or as a separate object, affects the sequence. Even notes must be in the same continuous framework to work correctly.

From the point of view of InDesign, a table is just a text character, although it still occupies a full range in itself. You cannot add wrap at a table, only a framework containing.

  • I want to wrap the text around a transparent sphere

I want to be able to wrap text around a transparent in illustrator sphere, such as the text of Forefront is darker than the background text.  I followed this tutorial logo 3D (new) - YouTube video, but I can't understand what is happening after expansion to 06:13.  Can someone help me, please and thank you.

Assuming that you got to the part where the object is expanded (06:10), depending on whether you choose the "direct selection tool" and select only the outline of the circle (invisible, but if you wanted to see go to view > outline) carefully not choose anything else and delete (twice). And then you just object > Dissocier 3 times. as a result your forehead back text will be selectable.

  • A text will not wrap around the object. Some does. Anyone?

I worked in InDesgin (currently the CS6 for Mac) for many years. I'm not an expert, but fairly well-versed and comfortable with the program. I think I know almost everything about the wrapping of text and its options and how it works. But it drives me crazy.

I have an imported MSWord part of the text. I have an item I want to insert in the text. Normal procedure. Easy. But this text will NOT wrap around the object. What about other texts? Yes. Other text in the document wrap around that object even very well.

I rebooted the computer and the program. Check the settings as much as I can think and even spruced up the document from scratch as a MS Word document. Yet, no film.

This happened to someone? What is going on? Help.

Check the options of text block for the text that will not wrap. Ignore text dresses it is checked?

  • Wrap around the text - illustrator CS6

    Hi all

I guess it's one that is easy if you know how, but I did not.

I have a picture and I want to wrap the text around it to be a form of heart love similar to this image: http://i1.cpcache.com/product_zoom/23084...

Is it possible to do so on measure/manual, or is this a case of using the feature bow to varying degrees?

of course, it's a nice and simple. Draw a path in the shape you want the text to follow, and then select the Type on a path tool and click on the beginning of the road and start typing

Is it possible to wrap text around an image that is not placed inside the text box? When a column of text image overlays only partially?

    Hi Sascha,

You should be able to achieve the desired effect by placing the image inside the box and giving a compensation of the negative film.

The picture will overlap with text partially and skin will still work.

  • Text jumping around in the text box. Unrelated to the text wrapping.

We are experiencing a problem with a part of the text jumping around in the text block, as we make changes to the text. It is not related to the text wrapping.

We had not seen this problem until we have converted from CS4 to CS5.5.

    The background:

We use a system of generation of page owners. This operation generates IDML, which we will open in InDesign. We then pull this information in our models of CS5. This system has always worked well in the past. Now, however, we have this weird problem. The only thing that has changed is the version of InDesign.

    What's happening:

In some cases edit us a Word, change the punctuation signs, move something in a table or even simply by changing the color of a letter. When it is triggered, the text of the body of the text block jumps around in the area (often above title information). Normally the movement is on the rise, but makes greater very delicate changes as the lines are on the move in the text block.

What we are doing when this happens:

Usually, if we find a safe place in the text to type a return we do that, delete this return. This action solves the problem, but only temporarily. If the file is opened and closed, it goes back to jump.

Why is this a big problem for us:

We are working on catalogs, some with more than 400 pages. There are a large number of items. Much of the time that we need to make global changes with GREP and find/replace replace. This often causes situations where the text jump and you don't notice. There are even times when we are bypassing our files (right before moving on to the printer). This makes us very nervous.

Does anyone have knowledge that may be able to help?

    Thank you!

I just had exactly the same problem. I experimented with Options of text block and found a possible sollution: under 'Baseline Options' tick 'Use Custom base Grid' (see attached capture screen). In my case the text stopped jumping and I hope it helps someone out there also.
