is it possible to write the spreadsheet to a table of chains, but to an additional worksheet?

I am writing the results of the spreadsheet, but I want to create a different worksheet so that I can put the raw data.

You can't unless you start using ActiveX or report generation tool to connect with a real spreadsheet .xls file.

You are read and write a text file in the form in the way of a spreadsheet with delimiters between values in a row and the lines of text on the other. Text files have no understanding of the data being on a "sheet" and other data on another. It is a peculiarity of the format property of Excel file (and thus other spreadsheets) that allows Excel what data need to be put on what spreadsheet. It is not the kind of information that you can pass along the use of LabVIEW based text file i/o functions.

Write common spreadsheet files in the path dialog

I am facing a roadblock here.

I am currently using create a file (path of the unwired file) so that the user can enter the name of the file "test.txt" to create the txt file. No problem here.

However, I want this newly created text file to be my path to my writing on a spreadsheet file.

Why not use Build path? and then send it to write to the spreadsheet file.

Hello, I am trying to use write in file.vi of the spreadsheet to store my energy measurement data to an excel file. When I open the file once it records the data that comes out now instead in a column that will make my life a lot easier. I also tried to put the register shift on this loop for, it will save the data in the file of all the measures instead of only new data reset, but it gives me errors on the connection of two different types of data. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I do not see the shift registers in your program, so I don't know about this problem.

But maybe you want to connect a real to adding data? so it's not overwrite the old data entry?

Write to the spreadsheet file (how to start new lines)

I'm reading signals from a hardware device and try to write it in several columns using Scripture in the spreadsheet file every few seconds.

My problem is every time a new signal comes in, my program seems to overwrite the previous signal when writing to file, when (say after 2 minutes), I go to check the written file, it shows only 1 row of information. How can I fix?

If the program segment shown in your picture is inside a loop, then the section header write overwrites the file each iteration of the loop. So, you see only the data for the last iteration. Solution: Move portions header to write and write the names of channel out of the loop or put them in the case of structures that run only when you want a new file or new channels.

I try to write in a spreadsheet file.

There are two things that I try to do what does not the current .vi.

1. ask a name of file to outside the while loop. For the moment, this happens inside the while loop.

2. Add to the file (by setting true) does not work as each time the while loop is iterated in this example, it asks me for a new file name. Shouldn't it just add to the file without having to ask a new file name on each iteration.

If you do not specify the path to the file and then writing on a spreadsheet file asks for the file. That just the way the function works. If you go to the range of advanced functions of file, you will find a file dialog box function. Put outside your loop and pass the path resulting in the loop and writing in the spreadsheet file.

I use LabView 8.5 and an SCXI USB module for data collection.

I'm working on a program that reads in four channels of temperature and 20 channels of voltage by using two separate loops, then I concantenate two signals in order to write the data to a spreadsheet with length 24 file columns.

However, LabView is cutting my data; It will display four temperature data points followed by 16 zeros, and the next line will be my 20 pressure readings.

Is there a limit to the number of columns that can be written in a worksheet through LabView, or is there another issue here, I don't know everything?

No, there is no limitation. You are concantanating the berries incorrectly. You should get a table 1 d out of your table function build and you probably do not make a right click on it and select "input Concantanate."

Write the File.vi spreadsheet error hidden 8

I'm having a problem with writing in the File.vi worksheet. I want to use a spreadsheet file to save temporary data to be accessed at a later date when the program closes. I write in a spreadsheet file, while the program is running, open it and it read it once the program ends, and then write anything in the file to erase all data in the file. The question that I have is during the last entry; If the spreadsheet file is hidden (I would like to be hidden, so it is not deleted, removed, or modified between the execution of program) the vi returns an error.

In theory, you can use 'Set Flie Size' to set the OEF to 0. I have never tried on a hidden file.

Write the data from multiple devices in columns

Hi, I have a problem in writing the data of 2 devices I have currently (for pressure and temperature). I wanted to be written in 2 coloums, one for temperature and pressure for each produced data. What I have now is that the data written in the rows. Please help me on this.

Also, I put the timestamp, but only time as hh/mm/ss data. would it be possible to produce both as in the graph, which is written as hh/mm/Scott (in microseconds)

3. the wiring is not good. Your 'open file' function is placed somewhere after writing in the file structure. follow the flow of data.

Writing in the spreadsheet with the queue

I am a beginner with queues and I have a few questions. I have attached a simple example of code that I wrote to better implement a consumer who can queue data and write on a worksheet after running the code.

First of all, I noticed that the queue still has residual remaining after the code ends. It then writes this element to the file to run the vi. I can't figure how to get rid of this element.

Second, anyone have any suggestions to improve this code? I've been playing with it for quite some time and I finally got to work like that, but it is certainly configured differently from the other examples I've seen.

Thirdly, I am reading the number of items in the queue, but the two in the loop of the producer and the consumer, told me that there is no element. How can this be? My output file seems to work and I certainly put items in the queue.

Finally, in the future I'll use data from the queue in two places. Here I've implemented a notifier to do the job. This is the best method?

The reason why you do not get the last element of the queue (at least not until you restart the VI) is that you have your automatic indexation tunnel that collects all the data to send to the writing on file SS service cable for moving to register. So this last piece of data from the queue to get into the shift register, but it is not getting into the 2-D chart by the tunnel of automatic indexing up to the next iteration of the loop. When you rerun the VI, as the shift register is not initialized, it is already there and became the first point of your next data execution.

Why did you put the register shift in? Just remove and just use the tunnel of automatic indexation.

I don't know what you really want to do with the 2nd loop to say if the Notifier is correct or not. But if you do not want to lose data in the other loop, then you need to use a second queue and have your producer loop enqueue data in the two queues, a queue for each consumer loop.

With regard to the elements draws in the queue, seeing how your code is configured, the queue will almost always empty because the dequeue function will be ready to pull out the element immediately after the enqueue function puts in. Unless you have your loop producer much faster than your consumer loop running, you will not see a build up of the elements. (Try putting an expectation of more of 100 msec in your loop of consumer. Then you will see elements accumulate in the queue.)

I don't know why you put the spreadsheet feature writing after the loop. Normal use for queues in an architecture of producer/consumer must transmit the data to a separate loop that contains the functions write file. This way he can work at his own pace, but write the data and make sure that you do not lose it. As you have now, if your code runs a long time, you may run out of memory when at the tunnel of automatic indexing table becomes too large. And if your application crashes before you complete it with your stop button, then all data are lost because you did not it writes the file.

Excel template for the spreadsheet

Hi all. With your help, I'm almost finished. I use a 'writing on worksheet' and would like to know how I can create a header, so to speak. The operator will have to create a new file each time the Vi is executed. So, along the top, I need each column for writing 'Capacity' to the column 1, column 2 "impedance" and "Temperature" of column 3. Then, as the Vi is executed above the row filled with the names given above, then the data will be listed under each of the headings.

The second thing and I don't know if it's possible, I would like the spreadsheet to have the first two columns present themselves in the form of scientific notation, and the last of them in general, form on the actual spreadsheet. I don't know a lot about Excel, but I think what I would do is create a model, have the data written to it and then force the operator to perform a save as then the model is left as it was before the test. I hope that makes sense. Join I am I 'play' with, trying to make it work.

If my understanding fits your needs, you can follow this... instead of be confused with excel and the spreadsheet...

Go with spreadsheet... If your application is simple, it's that you requires the use of additional tool kit /ActiveX in the worksheet you need in excel...

How to write the comma delimited numbers of configuration file

In the attached Configuration File.vi write, I am trying to crush several whole decimal in the keys 1 and 2 of the attachment Test.ini. I am to convert the array of integers in a string. Because of this, the string written in the ini file is now being bracketed by apostrophes. What should I do to write the string without the apostrophes, as in the Test old.ini file?

write the Bay of cluster

I have a table of cluster (global variable) that I am filling with all the elements that need to be connected on my experience are doing inside the Subvi. The Subvi is called each loop to check the pressure on my analog channel. When the pressure reached 20 lb/po2 on particular channel I get a case statement and using card_no as the index I want to complete the cluster for the given channel. And when all my channels are sampled I generate a user event that is performed in the structure main.vi of the event where he writes my global cluster in a multiple list box and also in a file. I am able to read a particular index of my global cluster but can not understand how to write to the global cluster using the card_no as an index. Please, need help to understand the issue.

Something about the world of Test results does not match log_data table in what you spend. This image does not match what you put in your first post. If you look at the names of the items in your cluster, they do not match between the first image of the post and this last image. Namely double PFR TR Boolean abbreviated into a single image and are fully set out in the other image.

Turn on the contextual help and hover over the cut wire, it must tell you what is happening. Hover over the wires that are not broken to see the type of data contained in the thread.

Cannot write the FFT of the integrated double data

I am a beginner to Labview environment.

The concepts that you'll want to research are"matrices", "indexing of tables", 'automatic indexing', 'cluster' and 'type of waveform data'.

The loop IN the first VI I sent used the automatic indexation to take each element of a table 1 d of the clusters and perform operations on them separately to convert them to a waveform. Exit tunnel also uses automatic indexing so that the end result is a table 1 d of waveforms. I used the loop, so that no matter how many items appear in the table, you get a corresponding number of signals to the "writing on a file of measures."

In this case, because the output of the FRF is a single cluster (and not an array of clusters), the loop FOR was not necessary. The VI attached this time takes the output of cluster of FRF and maps the cluster to a single components build the wave function and you get a result of unique waveform.

I have no sound and Vibe loaded on my computer at the moment, so I can't run your VI and see the result of the integration of the snout to the Cloaca VI. The output data type is "Table 1 d of waveform" and your indicator and your two FRF can accept only waveforms. I put a function between integration and the indicator/FRF array index, but if there is more than one waveform in the table, it would be the wrong solution. My solution corrects the broken wires but throws waveforms 2,3,4... If they exist.
