  I have the same problem with this ASUS Ultrabook. New brand ASUS but in two different houses and I have the same problems. Get right next to the router and it connects ok. Get a few feet away from the router and the ASUS gets angry and does not connect. Downloaded the latest driver, but that did not help either. Obviously, this is a faulty piece of equipment in the laptop. Great joy!

I also used the Ctrl + C and CTRL-Z commands in the Terminal to leave the alfred_script, but nothing helped. I'm running out of ideas here, so I hope you could help me either reinstall the mail.app. I could always just switch to a different mail application, but it's kind of a last resort.

  Not sure that Alfred's, but it's just an Applescript script and it would not cause Mail to be planted.

  My first instinct would be to rebuild the mailbox. Because you can't do that with him crashing, you can simply delete the databases and it will rebuild them.

  A common cause of this is to have your program configured antivirus to analyze the messages, including outgoing mail.  If you can completely uninstall the AV program, and then reinstall it without the analysis feature mail.  If you can't do that, turn off scanning messages.  You will be just as safe.

  Please reset the Bridge preferences and then try it.

  Measures

  Start Adobe Bridge, and immediately press Ctrl + Alt + Shift (Windows) or command + Option + shift (Mac OS down) until the dialogue box reset settings appears.

  Select all three options - reset preferences, reset Standard Workspaces and all miniature Purge Cache - and then click OK.
