When I upgraded to Win XP SP3 LELA stopped working properly.  I tried to reinstall LELA, but she won't recognize just is no longer the router.  I have a WRT300N and were using LELA version 1.6.0033 up to this point.  Y at - it another version of LELA that always works with the WRT300N and Win XP SP3?  Any help is appreciated.  Thank you.

After many hours of digging into the issues of LELA, I found that the reason for problems of LELA is linked to Microsoft .NET Framework.  I downloaded and installed the updates of Windows XP .NET Framework from the Microsoft Web site and then LELA 3 installed without any problems.  My WRT300N works better now with LELA 3 when it was first installed with LELA 1.6.  Hope this helps someone...

  • Router (wrt300n) acting as a forwarder/server/resolver dns, why/how?

    Hello

Modem speedtouch 516 defined as = bridge

Router = linksys wrt300n, made the pppoe dsl connection

OS = vista 64-bit, also have test with computer laptop linux clean/white

By making a few landmarks on the dns servers, a tested program 192.168.1.1.

This made me nervous and start questioning why is this and is there a problem of problem/vulnerability/security/etc.

192.168.1.1 is my default gateway so my router.

Do a "nslookup - 192.168.1.1' (temporary use this specific ip address as a server) and then by typing a url returns a response.

According to tech-live chat, this router does not have dns forwarding nor made any linksys router.

If the router doesn't do not dns forwarding how is, I get dns results when you do a nslookup or change the dns at 192.168.1.1?

On some tests (dnsbench of grc.com) 192.168.1.1 is faster than dns servers that my ISP router forwards/gives. If the router was dns, it would normally use the dns ips he has in his list given to him by my ISP, right? So 192.168.1.1 and ISP - dns speed should be the same speed, no?

    Am I lack/misunderstanding something?

    Help. Thank you

    1. If the beneficiary address DNS server to the client is 192.168.1.1 router must do DNS redirection. Otherwise the customer could not resolve host names. There is no other way to do this if the client knows nothing but 192.168.1.1.

    2. the router uses the servers DNS ISP as shown on the router status page. Here are the only addresses that the router knows.

    3. the router is probably a DNS caching, also, so the router's responses are faster if the result is in the cache.

    4. as it is a redirector is also vulnerable or not vulnerable to the poisonings and other things your ISP DNS server.

    5. you can not handle. This is a redirector maybe with a bit of cache memory.

    6. If you set like him your other DNS server on your customers or in the DHCP server.

  • WRT300N router with Modem ADSL AM200

    Hello

I searched this forum and found a few pieces of answers, but I'm still a little confused...

At the moment, I have a Linksys WRT300N router, connected to the Internet via an ADSL Alcatel Speedtouch Home modem, on an ISDN line.

As I no longer need ISDN, my network operator will be week next "downgrade" my ISDN line back to simple line RTC, that involves to change the separator of a model of ISDN a PSTN (made by the engineer of the operator) and also change the ISDN compatible ADSL modem a PSTN one.

How very happy I am with the Linksys gear I already, I went to a Modem of ADSL Linksys AM200 . On the box, it is mentioned, it can be connected to a PC or a router. However, all the indications in the manual I downloaded (I have not yet opened the box of ) refer to the right connection to a PC, including providing parameters PPPoE, DHCP configurations, etc...

I don't need all that, like everything is already set up to a break-in of my WRT300N router. I'll be able to get the AM200 straight out of the box, simply it exchanges with the Alcatel Modem? Or will I need to configure it in a special way to disable all the stuff that I don't need in the modem (NAT, DHCP, PPPoE configuration,...)?

In addition, I understand that the modem has an IP 192.168.1.1 as standard. I will be able to access its trough of configuration interface of the router, which is 192.168.2.1 as confured?

I found it frustrating that the documentation did not provide some basic information about the connection of the modem to a router!

I'm trying to understand in advance what I'm going to have to do, because once the line swiched to the PSTN, the Alcatel modem won't work any more, and I have no Internet before the new AM200 access, I get up and run...

    Any help will be appreciated!

You need to replace your old Modem with the new one, if your ISP is a DSL then you must enter a few basic parameters and you'll be ready to go.

  • Security number of Linksys WRT300N?

Due to problems with my wifi, I had to reset my router and the modem. I need to reinstall my settings now, and that's why I need to write a security number. That should be written on the back of my router (model WRT300N), a bar code with 8 numbers. I can't find this code. Where I can find it or is there another way to reinstall my connection and put a password on it? It is now open access. Thanks in advance for your support. (I don't have the manual or box more, so this is not an option).

No need to use the on the router 8 digit PIN because not all devices do not ask for it. What you can do, is the security of the network by going to its page configuration and installation of security from there. For detailed instructions, you can visit this link: set-up of WEP, WPA or WPA2 Personal security on a Linksys wireless router wireless. For security strengthened, I suggest that use you WPA2 Personal.

  • WRT300N using LWAPP environment

Can someone comment if Linksys WRT300N wireless routers are compatible with the LWAPP configuration?

My school lab configuration uses routers to services integrated Cisco with NM-AIR-WLC6-K9 network as the network LWAP controllers modules.  The controller accepts configuration without error, is not looking upwards or printing see WRT300 AP routers, so can't push LWAP basic config info.  The WRT300s are on and handed over to their default configs.

New: the WRT300N is a consumer router. This is no device business. It does not with the controllers wireless company. It is autonomous.

  • WRT300N does not

Hi, after working properly for quite a long time, today my WRT300N router could no longer connect to the internet. He now meets no more than 50% of the ping to her calls. In addition, the utility page on his ip address cannot be opened. In fact nothing of the internet are accessible, either by ip or dns name. The internal network has continued to function properly. I have two computers with certain virtual machines running on them - all virtual and physical computers can see each. My computers are connected by lan cables to the router. The wireless is the same - no internet access. No changes were made to the configuration of the router.

I tried to reset to factory settings, but it seems does not work either. By pressing the button reset for 5 seconds and nothing happens. Meanwhile, for the internet port LED flashes as usual, the LEDs on the flashing of the usual lan ports as well.

    Can anyone help?

    Thanks in advance!

Finally, I managed to reset my router, then restore the settings from a backup file. Now it works properly!

  • With the help of WRT300N Wireless Router with a USB modem (satellite)?

Hey there!  I tried to find this answer in various places online, and I saw a few things that have led me to believe that this is possible, but nothing to explain as thoroughly as I'd like.  I have a N of Linksys WRT300N wireless router.  For the next few months, new home construction we do service by cable or DSL, so we use the Cricket's broadband Internet, which connects via a USB port (Cricket is a 3G network, managed by a cell phone company).

I'm trying to understand if there is anyway that I can connect internet Cricket USB to my computer, as usual, but then connect my router to the computer somehow so that I can distribute this wireless signal?  I'm having crazy to move the thing USB from one computer to another and would really like to connect my PS3 wireless signal, thus.

Does anyone have an idea how this could be done?  If so, could you explain to me what I need to do quite exactly?  I am running Windows Vista on this computer.  Thank you very much in advance for your help.  You're going to be spare me months with a value of pulling my hair out, believe me.

Yes you can do it, USB Modem not connecting to the computer, the computer must be connected to the Internet Port of the router and then it will give a Wi - Fi connection and...

To do this, you need to enable Internet Connection Sharing (ICS)...

  • WRT300N - suddenly disconnected from the internet

I have a WRT300N that has been configured and works well in a DSL connection - no login/password.

Suddenly leave 15 days back, I lost the connection.  The IP address is assigned for my computer equipment and wifi (198.162.1.1...), and the Proxy address is set for DSL (198.162.323.123).  But I'm still not able to connect to the internet with all the equipment (PC, laptop, Ipod touch, Iphone or wifi Skype phone).

Note that when I tried internet directly on my laptop / pc, it works without any problem.

I tried resetting the router but also downloaded the Cisco software and installed in the router.  But I'm still not able to connect to the internet.

Can anyone suggest what to do more?

    Thank you.

IP address of your modem is in conflict with the IP address of the router.

When your computer is connected to the modem, it gets an IP address of 192.168.1.x.

When you connect your router to the loop, the IP address of the router is in this same range.

You can set the router LAN IP.

There is an article on how to do it. Click here.

  • E3000 WAP / would like to old WRT300N can provide a stronger signal

I recently replaced WRT300N router / WAP with E3000.  Low signal in our basement.  I have CAT5e cable that goes down to the basement where I would place the WRT300N in a certain type of client mode so that it will provide a signal more stronger and better access.  I know that I must be sure that DHCP is handled exclusively by the E3000.  Beyond this simple step, I don't know how to proceed.

WRT300N material is capable of that?  If Yes, can someone provide instructions step by step on how to do this?

    Thank you very much.

Two routers will work with the other. You can follow this link and it help you to set up your two routers.
