WRT320N and internal VPN server

I just bought a router Linksys 320N to replace another competing router.

I am trying to connect to my VPN server from outside my network. I have the external IP to my network. I install the new router 320N, like the old router.

the dmz ip value the vpn server's internal ip address

set forwarding port in 1723, the two, internal ip address of the vpn server

I have a way to test the vpn when I'm inside my network. So I can look at the VPN server to connect and see the request to come in the server happens to expire with the Linksys 320 N hung.

If I have the old router plugged, the vpn connects.

The above settings are the same settings I have on both routers.

Help, please.

I don't think that the problem is CHAP. I think the problem is the GRE tunnel. Check with a sniffer network on the server and the client can help see if the ACCORD is sent at one end but never received at the other end.

1 make sure that the options under the Security tab of passthrough are all turned on.

2. try different forwarding configurations, for example only the DMZ host configuration but no port redirects. Configure the single forward TCP 1723 port and no DMZ host. See if it makes a difference.

    Your VPN works, but you must remember that you must have the VISA runtime installed on the computer that you use for vpn to and have NO servers running on the computer you want to control. We must also ensure that the default IP address is that of your local computer, because once it is changed, it will adapt to an IP address of the system. Then go to network connections > advanced > advanced settings and make sure the top of the list is the IP address of the computer that you are not using the IP address, the computer is on the network. After you do this, the Run-Time VISA and the VISA server should focus on the same computer. Could you also make sure everything is configured correctly, as seen in the present document.

    I suggest also to research in panels of remote façade for your applications that is described here.  And here is information locking locking and unlocking of these applications.

    I have ASA 5510 as simple VPN server and 871 router as simple VPN client. I want to have the user ID and permanent password on 871 and not to re - enter username and password since 871 uses dynamic IP address and every time I have to ' cry ipsec client ezvpn xauth "and type user name and password.

    any suggestions would be much appreciated.

    Do "crypto ipsec client ezvpn show ' on 871, does say:

    Save password: refused

    ...

    ezVPN server dictates the client if it can automatically connect with saved password.

    Set "enable password storage" under the group policy on the ASA.

    Today, I was busy trying to test the L2 VPN functionality and I got an error message that I had no right to allow the 'L2 VPN server' when the SSL VPN-Plus feature is enabled on the server VPN of L2.

    Is it possible that these two can run concurrently?

    OK, I should have been more precise here. It is using the same service on the GSS. You cannot activate both at the same time. This is how it is. Maybe this will change later.

    Firewalls in the system is disabled.

    Typical VPN connections, you use the DNS server of your iPhone and not the DNS server of the network corresponding to your server.  In addition, Hello services are only available on the LAN.  So you have no way to resolve names to IP adrdesses for the network, you are VPNing.

    The only easy solution from an iPhone is to make a list of IP addresses and use them to connect instead of host names.  using IPs will work as long as your ISP does not also use the same internal (like 192.168 or 10.0) IP address than the network that you connect to.

    I've been on the many other posts about it, and they all seem a bit different, so I started my own thread.

    I was sent to my users via the ASA AnyConnect 3.1.02026, and we all get the warning of the Cert of untrusted when connecting VPN server.

    When the ASA deploys the client, it puts the external IP of the SAA as the host name, which causes the error.

    So I have two questions: 1. How can I get the ASA to make host name "vpn.cfo.com" when a user installs the client and 2. How can I change my cert so that it does not show the internal name of the ASA and use 'vpn.cfo.com' instead?

    Cisco has made a strict checking of KU and EKU in recent versions of AnyConnect, which leads to the warning you got.

    To my knowledge, if you go to 3.1.00495, you will not get this warning, if not, you need to get the valid KU and EKU fields in your certificate of ASA.

    To use specific trustpoint, please check the 'truspoint ssl' command in global configuration mode.

    First of all, you can set "no nat-control" because once you have relieved of NAT, 'no nat-control' becomes disable anyway. 'No nat-control' is useful if you have no statement of NAT at all on the interface.

    Second, if you can't access the outside inside which is because you must configure the NAT exemption. Not sure if you have configured it.

    Here's the command:

    access-list allowed sheep ip 192.168.1.0 255.255.255.0 192.168.6.0 255.255.255.0

    NAT (inside) 0 access-list sheep

    You can then add all other subnets that are internal to the ACL sheep if you need VPN access.

    Finally, for the error message deny on access-group "OUTSIDE", you would need check if you have configured "sysopt connection VPN-enabled'. If it is disabled, it will also check the "OUTSIDE" interface for VPN traffic.

  • Misconfigured remote VPN server by using IPSEC client

    I'm trying to figure out what I did wrong in my setup.  The environment is:

    ASA 5505 running 8.2 with 6.2 ASDM.

    Version of the VPN Client 5.0.05.0290

    I installed VPN ipsec clients both anyconnect and connected successfully to the remote access VPN server. However, the client doesn't show any returned package.  Thinking that I have badly configured, I have reset to the default value of the factory and began again.  Now I only have the configured ipsec vpn and I have exactly the same symptoms.  I followed the instructions to configure the ipsec vpn in Document 68795 and double-checked my setup and I don't know what I did wrong.  Because I can connect to the internet from inside network and I can connect to the VPN from outside of the network (and the ASDM Watch monitor an active connection with nothing sent to the client) I believe this is a road or an access rule preventing communication but I can't quite figure out where (and I tried the static routes to the ISP and a wide variety of access rules before rinsing to start) above).

    Looks like a typo for the Pool of IP subnet mask.

    I'm on Sierra, iOS macOS 10 and Mac OS Server 5.2 (on a Mac mini).  (All dated September 21, 2016)

    Because PPTP is no longer supported, I am trying to create L2TP.  Unfortunately, when I try to connect to the server, I get the error "the VPN server has failed. Please check the server address and try to reconnect. »

    I do not think it is a problem of networking: back to my Mac is not enabled, the appropriate ports are transmission (UDP 500, 1701, 4500) and server says that the service is accessible.

    When I check the logs from the server after a connection attempt, I find:

  • Configure a VPN server on non-server version

    I have seen that it is possible to configure your Mac as a VPN server, even if you do not have the server version of Mac OS. Yosemite. Freeware such as VNC Enabler and VPN server Configurator can easily do that. So I tried. I forwarded your UDP, ports 500, 1701, and 4500 to the local IP address of my computer. I did the same for port 9 so I can wake on LAN. I made sure that IPSec, PPTP and L2TP passthrough are enabled (Linksys router). Nothing... does not work. The State of the VPN server says it is, but I can not connect from the outside. I can't wake the computer either, even if Wake for Ethernet network access is on. My IPS does not block these ports.

    Any idea?

    I use the VPN server through Server 5.1. However, I recently bought an EdgeRouter POE, and I plan to change to its VPN. Can someone offer advantages/disadvantages for one against the other?

    I have no experience using the EdgeRouter and it took quite some dig able to determine that this was the case to all VPN. It seems mainly focused on being a router Ethernet to Ethernet. However as mentioned, I finally found a reference, which suggests he can do the following VPN protocols.

    • IPSec Site to Site and remote access
    • OpenVPN Site‐to‐Site and remote access
    • RAS PPTP
    • Remote access L2TP
    • PPTP client

    Download and read the whole manual I don't remember not its VPN features.

    I can say that I gave up on VPN server own Apple as it supports only L2TP and PPTP that these two days are considered to be weak from a security point of view and which can be used for VPN on demand configurations. I now use StrongSwan5 which allows to make a Linux server

    • IKEv2 Site to Site and remote access
    • IPSec Site to Site and remote access

    Both being able to VPN on demand.

    IKEv2 is currently considered the most secure VPN solution. IKEv2 is supported the use of VPN client built into El Capitan and iOS 9.

    StrongSwan5 works with the built-in VPN Apple customer and StrongSwan5 supports the use of SSL certificates, it also supports force all traffic through the VPN - a common requirement of companies configuration VPN connection.

  • Office locks upwards and not Windows Server 2008 R2 remote let me reconnect

    I was having problems connecting to a remote system with RDP.  The server is operational for several years and is one of the 4 servers identical servers located on the same site.  Recently, one of the other servers crashed I was remoting in a long time so I had to start using this RDP server in.  Once our on-site personnel COMPUTER redirected to this NAT. port forwarding by server, I was able to connect remotely to make some changes, including the addition of a role as a remote access server VPN using the Routing and remote access Server Setup Wizard and removing the component of protection against threats Symantec Endpoint Protection network so that I can use and configure the Windows Firewall.

    While working through the Routing and remote access Server Setup Wizard, my locked up and disconnected RDP session.  I was able to reconnect once on-site staff completed the wizard and restart the computer, but once I reconnected it, after a minute or 2 I was even once disconnected and could reconnect not until the server has been restarted.  I presume that add the VPN role affected my RDP access and decided to remove the VPN server role.

    Now, I can't RDP on the server unless it is freshly reset, and even then it only allows me to stay connected for a few minutes before the connection is lost and I can't reconnect again until the server is restarted.  A vicious circle; power of connection after restart, only to have the connection dropped and requires a restart to reconnect again.

    This server also hosts a database that client systems are able to access for a short period of time after before restarting their connection drops.

    I quadruple checked the inbound Windows Firewall rules, uninstalled application anti-virus completely, same goes for as much as duty get their request for removal to ensure each piece of it has been removed, and I always have the same question.

    The whole issue started when I tried to add the VPN role.  I can't uninstall and then reinstall the anti-virus repeatedly has not helped either, but as it is right now, I have a server who, shortly after the restart, is unable to communicate. not with the internet, not on the local network, not remotely.   On-site staff are trying their best to follow my troubleshooting over the phone, but he arrived at a point where I will have to find out what's wrong and provide an easy solution to remote, or make a trip to halfway around the world to try to figure it out myself (which would be EXTREMELY difficult/close to impossible right now).

    Quesitons:

    (1) why would I be able to connect to remote after the reboot and disconnected then shortly after? (Service/application causing the problem didn't start until shortly after a restart?)

    (2) why is it not only kill remote access, but access LAN and internet on the server?

    (3) what else can be verified to help diagnose and fix the problem?

    I did a lot of research on the web but haven't found identical to mine problems.  Is this a new problem or a bug?  I saw information about uninstalling a patch and a seen a fix for the problems of the RDP, but who wouldn't even help LAN and access on the internet server.  This server ran local client local RDP, access to the database access and could have access to the internet for the years leading up to the recent changes and issues.

    Edit: The pro I'm remote on the server is a system Win 7 Pro, and the database of customers are also Win 7 Pro.

    Correction of the problem.  Turns everything by making the configuration for VPN, incorrect information has been entered in the network link, causing the network to the bomb once VPN service started.

    There are several LAN ports on the server, and one of them was selected incorrectly and configured with the incorrect gateway IP address during configuration of the VPN server.  Once the misconfigured for the LAN port TCP/IP parameters have been removed, all was good again.

    When I try to run just on an account administrator through regular networking, it hits the vpn in offline mode when someone else that the administrator is trying to distance in.

    I have to use a vpn, because I'm on a school network and have permission to use the server, but I have to do my own static IP address.  My solution for the static IP address, he ran through a VPN with data unlimited which ended with a dedicated static IP address.

    Everything on the server works when comes the administrator will connect.  Site Internet/game/file Services/Ect.
