• Problem with my WRT54G Router.

• Installation with WRT310N wireless router problem

  I have currently an old model WRT54G Router installed wireless that works very well, but I need the WPS technology if I want to install a newer model WRT310N router. I used the installation cd supplied with the router, which has not seen any problem until I removed the old router and plugged in power in the new after connecting the anc ethernet cables to my cable modem. For some reason any the software wont recognize the new router so I can continue with the configuration of the installation. Since I plugged the new router in the same connections that I had had the old LInksys router connected to, I do not understand why and I can not proceed with the installation. I finally just reinstalled... connected., my old router and it works fine, but this isn't a solution for me.

  It might have something to do with the sequence to connect the different cables? I also tried to use 192.168.1.1. via my browser and could up the installation screens but it wont let me install the new router so that the old one is still in place and without the old one in place, I can not access the configuration on my desktop screens.

  I have my router in a closet with my... cable modem... .but the WRT54G worked fine for 2 years in the same cupboard and I also installed a Netgear N600 router as an alternative. is it installed fine until what happened to the point where he said the beach was too limited. .i guess work in the closet.  I guess I can buy a range extender to solve this problem, but I have no experience with those so im not sure if this will solve the problem. I prefer to get the Linksys WRT310N to work if possible.

  Thanks for the tips on how to handle this. Fortunately, I discovered later that the Linksys router, I bought on ebay, is apparently defective and it now resides in my trash. That said, I also realized with the help of a neighbor that my Kindle works with the good old Linksys router I used for 4 years or more. My problem was to not understand how to download books on the Kindle, even though I thought I did. So the problem is moot. Sorry I got worth this site with no problem.

• Cannot access wireless with linksys WRT54GS router

  I just installed a Linksys WRT54GS router on my connection, the problem I have is to be able to access with my wireless on my laptop.

• Not to access Internet using WRT54G Router wireless

It shows that my Internet is connected but it displays "no network access.  I had on fine at first, then I went on the 192.168.1.1 site to configure my data.  I changed my time zone and then to secure my connection.  I don't remember the exact option that I chose, but I think it was something like personal WAP2. As soon as I selected the screen has frozen and I can not access this site or access the Internet through the router.   Fix it!  I called my local service provider and explains the problem. He had me go in the settings of the router and change the connection between "Connect on Demand ' and 'Keep Alive '.  Everything works fine now.  Thank you!

  This problem is usually caused by suboptimal communication between the computer and the router. The most common cause for this is a computer software firewall problem, but there are also several other possible causes:

  To view web pages of the router (and to solve problems "Cannot save settings"):

  You don't need an Internet connection. 'web Pages' of the router are integrated into the router.
  Use Internet Explorer, it usually works.
  JavaScript must be enabled.
  Use a computer that is connected to the router.
  In the non-working computer, temporarily disable your firewall software.

  Point your browser to 192.168.1.1, and then connect to your router. Your username must be left blank. Your password is "admin" (without the quotes), unless you changed it.

  If you use Zone Alarm, do a right-click on the ZA icon in the taskbar (bottom right of screen) then click on "Shutdown ZoneAlarm" and see if that solves your problem. If this does not work, try the following with Zone Alarm: open the control center ZAISS, go to privacy, then temporarily disable Ad Blocking and Cookie Control and see if it solves your problem.

  Some Zone Alarm users reported that the addition of 192.168.1.1 to their address list "of trust" solved the problem. This trick can also work with other firewalls.

  If you can not get anything to 192.168.1.1 then perhaps this is not the address of the router. Go to 'Start' > all programs > Accessories > command prompt.

• Re-login C4750 printer to the router problems

  First of all, do not use WEP!  It is not secure and can also cause connection problems.  Use WPA or WPA2 with a password that you create - use 13 + characters, numbers and letters, upper and lower case.

  In the printer Panel, go to settings (Scan) > networks > reset network by default.

  I guess that your WRT54G is set on "IP address local" 192.168.1.1 and that your DHCP server is "activated" and the range of DHCP servers is always set to the default value of 192.168.1.100 thru 192.168.1.149 - is that correct?

  If so, your Blu - ray player should be connected when the option "using DHCP".  If you have a long cable (especially more than 30 feet), make sure that you use a cat5e or cat6 high quality cable.  Have you tried to close down the Blu - ray the WRT54G and using a short cable that you know works?  If this is not the case, try this and see if it works.

  If you can not always get the Blu - ray to connect, then try to set the Blu - ray in a static LAN IP address.  Note that a static LAN IP address must be outside the range of the DHCP server, and it cannot end with 0, 1 and 255.  For example, try 192.168.1.20 (assuming that you do not use this address elsewhere).  You must also set the subnet mask of 255.255.255.0, default gateway to 192.168.1.1 and the DNS server on 192.168.1.1.  Note that some devices may not use DNS server to the proxy of the router at 192.168.1.1, so if this setting does not work, then insert your real address in Server Internet DNS (found in the router on the status tab).

  I have a router that my cable company feel needs replacing. I don't really know if it's true, because they tried to sell me a new router or rent one for me.   How to route packets between the Tunnel and an Ethernet device (Ethernet 0)?

  Can't wait to show something that might be there, but I don't see here. You do not have the card encryption applied to one of the interfaces, perhaps it was not copied. Assuming your description you do it, or should it be, applied to the fa0 and you are connected. Try how you ping? Since the router or a device located on E0? If you ping the router, you will need to do an extended ping of E0 to the ip address of the client has been assigned. If your just ping the router without the extension, you will get sales and decrypts that you declare on the client. Have you tried to ping from the client to interface E0? Your default route on the router is pointing to fa0? You have a next hop to affect? You have several NIC on the client pc? • Problems with my WRT54GS router

  The Assistant telling me that my router is not connected correctly. I chose the option "Replace my current router" and I moved the cable connected to the port on my router 2WIRE to the port on my router linksys 'Internet' "broadband." I then moved the ethernet cable from my router 2WIRE to my linksys router. Those are the only two cables (not counting the power cables) connected to the linksys router and yet the wizard keeps giving me an error. Can someone help me please? Thanks in advance.

• I am unable to connect to the Linksys WRT54G Router with wired connection to Office XP.

  My two laptops (XP and a Win7) will be connected to the router wireless and wired (ethernet). When it is plugged directly into the DSL modem, the Office connects and works very well. This problem started when I had to replace the DSL modem.

  Assuming this is correct, open a command prompt and type

  IPCONFIG/ALL
