Wyse R50LE and sntp

Hello

I would like to create a crontab to synchronize every hour our Wyse R50LE with a server using sntp.

Is there a problem with that?

Thank you very much

Best regards.

Michel

Thanks for the post "How to add a cron" Sabrosa-2015, my problem is solved.

The final solution was for me, under root:

1 modify the /etc/init.d/jexec file by adding the line "#Required - Stop: $local_fs ' after the line beginning with"#Required_Start ".

2. Add the S12bootclock link--> etc/init.d/boot.clock.

3 - activate the service of cron by typing ' chkconfig cron on. "

4 - disabling the ntp service by typing «chkconfig ntp» off

5 - create a script called sntp_synchro in the directory/etc/cron_daily, containing the following line:

/ usr/bin/SNTP v Pei no servername - r >/var/log/sntp 2 > & 1

6 - restart the Terminal.

Please note that you may need to manually change the /etc/sysconfig.clock to set your time zone.

  • Level of encryption between Wyse ThinOS and VMware View desktop

Can someone help me determine the level of encryption between my Wyse thin clients and virtual desktops.

I use the latest Wyse ThinOS and VMware View connection Server 4.0.

I have a manual desktop pool configured with things THAT RDP disabled. I'm also using smart card authentication.

With direct disabled RDP is a configuration of SSL tunnel for the connection to the server and the RDP session to the virtual desktop by tunnel through this SSL connection?

Yes that's right, although strictly that you should say server/connection security as if you use a security server, then this is endpoint of the tunnel rather than the CS.

  • Wyse V10L with WTS 6.3 and VMware View show

Hi, just got the WTS 6.3 Wyse today and upgraded a V10L. Then entered the IP of our server VMware View, that meets our OK thin client device and presents us with a nice box of connection of VMware. I then enter my login details and I get the error "No. SUPPORT TUNNEL '...

I can plug directly into the virtual machine in question using RDP in Wyse client, so assume its something to do with the SSL through the broker. Disabled the requirement for SSL and changed my broker on the device of Wyse http://x.x.x.x, (instead of https)-same error.

Has anyone else seen elsewhere, or have any idea what is the problem?

    Hello

Open the view administrator, select your display server, click on edit and activate (direct connection on the desktop)

This is because the customer of Wyse ThinOS with does not have components of tunneling.

You will need the option direct conect. The thin client connects to the Server View, authenticated, get its information session and after which connects via RDP directly on the desktop.

  • WYSE Thin Client 3290 Office administrator password Dell

WYSE Thin Client 3290 Office administrator password Dell

I bought 7 of these new units and I'm trying to take them on my network, but it tells me I must have administrator level to do so.

So I followed all this connect blogs out there who say how to get to the administrator and the magic password "Wyse #123" and I get nowhere.

I tried all the others out there, but all messages seem to be old.

Can someone tell me what is this combination of magic password?

    Try to use "DellCCCvdi".

I'm mobile torwards a deployment of Thin Clients using the Wyse P20 and View 4 and I was wondering if anyone has had experience using the linked clone and Altiris Agent Office pool?  If this is not the case, what practices of patching are used?

What practices of patching are used?

If you use linked clone you way the main image, not the desktop images.

Power on the mask, path, clipping, create a new snapshot.

Then (with View Manager Administration) redial your pool with the new snapshot.

  • XP SP3 causes BSOD during the passage of the WYSE Thin Client session to session VMware VDM Web Access

    Hello

For our VDI environment, we use both clients Wyse thin (Thin OS 6.2.0_16) and VMware VDM Web Access to access Windows XP virtual machines that are available through the VMware VDM connection server. The connection and the agent server is at version 2.1.1 build-663. We run ESX 3.5 and Virtual Center 2.5 times with update 3.

The issue I'm having is once a Windows XP SP2 virtual computer has been upgraded to SP3 will be blue screen when I try to access it for the Wyse terminal after his last accessed from VMware VDM Web Access. Order real to get there would be to access the VM SP3 from the Wyse Terminal, then go VDM Web access, and then again from the Wyse Terminal and it will have a blue screen. Disconnect or disconnect makes a difference. I'm curious to see if anyone else has this problem. I enclose the capture of blue screen and the mini dump file. If you need more information please let me know.

    Thanks for your help!

    -Pete

    Hi Peter,.

The root cause of the problem is change colordepth of 15 bits to 16 bits. Let me explain the cause of the problem.

-Connection of the terminal WYSE in a VM XP - effective colordepth in the RDP session = 15 bits

-Access Web VDM from PC connection (I guess) - effective in the RDP session colordepth = 16 bits.

-The switch back to results WYSE Thin Client = 15 new bits

This actually switch between colordepth 15 bits to 16 bits and viseversa result BSOD.

Thank you to use DesktopColorDepth = 16 RGB565 = Yes command in your wnos.ini and try to place this order through brokers VDM. It should solve the problem.

    Thank you

  • Optimizing the performance of Flash

I evaluate VMware View, and it's feeling like I get not quite multimedia delivery just RDP to my Win7 VMs vSphere.  Is there a list of best practices for this type of optimization?  Everything I've done so far is to change the settings of the Pool to use high-quality Flash and play with giving the VM more vCPUs or vRAM.

I tried different configurations, and here's what it seems good to bad:

VMware View 4.6 Mac = Mac RDP client > PC VMware view 4.6 Client = Win7 RDP > Suse Linux Enterprise VMware View 4.5 Wyse > Wyse ThinOS RDP.  This corresponds pretty well to the power of the machine that I use a Mac 8 - core, a PC 2 drivers, a R50LE and a C10LE.

At best, I always get a frame torn here and there, and the sound is a fraction of a second behind.  At worst (devices from Wyse), the video is choppy and the sound is consisitently 1-2 seconds behind, even if the sound is solid and doesn't break the flow.

I'd be able to do better than that?  Does take to the Wyse TCX?  Anyone have good experiences here? Elsewhere?

I'm running a vCenter with two hosts, 8-12cpus, DAS with much ability: for the host on which the test VM is sitting on I'm generally 5-8% cpu, memory 40% and 40% storage.  I think that there are a lot of lats, running on even underused GB Ethernet network.

    Thank you!

As the above poster said, you must use PCoIP if you want to enjoy the benefits of a protocol designed for VDI. RDP is not go just cut, although supposed to be native is doing stuff with RDP to improve it with Blaze.

To improve even more, I suggest to use Clients zero jointly with PCoIP for a total experience.

  • Thin clients with view 4.5

I was in the thin client compatibility guide, and I'm trying to decide what thin client to the demo. I would like to pcoip and find the Wyse P20 very attractive, although it has only usb 1.1

Can someone make suggestions as to which clients you use with view 4.5?

Currently, I have only a Wyse C10LE, which has no RDP and HP 5455

I'd be willing to look at other companies, I wanted just to have an idea as to who are the most popular

    -MN

We were extremely pleased with the Wyse P20. Like you we demo also had the HP T5545 and Wyse C10LE, and we were quite impressed by both.

We thought that the Wyse R50LE was decent, but if you want the best experience then the P20 is the way to go.

When I use the USB imaging tool and try to load the new image to my USB drive, I get the following error message:

The FT USB does not support the V90LE series. You need an old tool that has been used for the V class called WSI. Unfortunately, I do not see that this tool is available.

  • WLAN driver update

    Hello

We have some problems with the Wyse D10DP and Xirrus WLAN. Sometimes (2 - 3 times a day) the customer loses the connection to the server of the RPD. The Signal strength is ok and after reconnected everything works well. The Xirrus Support suggests to update the wlan driver. In the newspaper, they found the following indicator: alarm connectivity: chess review pilot (Rev).< 14.0),="" 1="" is="" greater="" than="" threshold="" of="">

We have installed the real WTS on the device (8.1_027).

How we can update the WLAN driver to satisfy the Xirrus support?

    Thanks for the help!

    Claudio,

You can contact our Center of self-service department support at www.wyse.com/kb or by phone in the United States are 1-800-800-9973 option 4. For other countries, go to www.wyse.com/support. WTS does not provide features to add drivers, then she should be evaluated by our Engineering Department.

  • SG300-20 can't find IP address

I have a SG300-20 new I installed March 1, installation went well and she has acquired an IP address from the router (DSL modem) and I have accessed the switch installation and SNTP, new user, save the configuration and connected off Worked fine connected Monday discussed several options, disconnected without changing anything.  This morning, happened to look at the switch and saw that the system of light flickered, tried to connect and that he could not, the switch Rebooted and modem, still no IP address of the switch.  I haven't connected the console yet, but will later.  The switch is working and I have access to all the resources and the Internet.

The firmware is up to 1.3.x

Any ideas on why it will not be an IP address?

    Thank you

    Please let us know.

My recommendation is for you to assign a static IP address immediately it is the standard, this way you will always be able to access.

  • 5.5 vSphere updated for compatibility with Samsung Tera1 Zero customers 1

Hi all, we anticipate a 5.1 to 5.5 vSpehere upgrade (Update 1).

I checked the compatibility matrices and can not find a match for our Tera1 Samung SyncMaster NC240 customer zero. My hypothesis is that VMware simply did not worth to test compatibility with the help of these models and it will actually work.

Everyone upgraded to 5.5 vSphere update 1 with zero customers Tera1 and they can confirm if that succeeded?

    Thanks heaps...

We are currently using Horizon view 5.3 with vSphere 5.5U1 and about 700 Tera1 zero clients have no problem Display protocol is of course PCoIP, over WAN and LAN connections.

The Tera1 devices are Wyse P20 and Samsung NC190 (must be the same as yours with screen 19 inch).

  • What zero or thin Client is the most popular? What piece of management?

I think far in advance and do not want mixed marks in our environment. We rely on the movement of a large group of VDI (already have VDI in place, but expanding).

    1. why thin above zero... it's just that the user may have access offline (if something were to happen to VDI)?  Any advice would be appreciated.

2 what Management Consoles use you - at the moment we have WDM (Wyse Device Manager), but I'm not sure that our future purchase will be produced Wyse.  We have the Teradici PCoIP Management Console - does this work for the most part zero and thin clients?

These are two hiccups, that I was confronted.  I'd like to narrow down my choices of zero or thin, and what is the best way to manage them.

We also use only customer zero for our environment from view.

They are managed via the Teradici Management Console. As already said devices only with a Tera1 or Tera2-Chip (processor) are supported.

We only use Wyse P20 and also new P25 units for our society.

With the new Management Console (1.8.0 +) the old Tera1 and the new Tera2 are already supported.

There is also a firmware combined for the two chips that can be used by this console.

Establishment of autoconfig is also working with new clients.

Here is a list of the most (if not all) zero customers who use a Tera-chip: http://www.teradici.com/where-to-buy/product-search-results.php?vendor_id=0&category_id=2&form_factor_id=0&vmware_ready=&keywords=&x=11&y=9

  • View 5.1 with RSA Securid 7.1

We deploy VMware View with RSA Securid 7.1 5.1. We have a RSA and RSA 7.1 installed agent on the server and display the VM VDI and to challenge the value. The View Manager is configured to use RSA according to the doc.

    http://www.RSA.com/rsasecured/guides/imp_pdfs/RSA%20SecurID%20Ready%20Implementation%20Guide-view%20Manager%203.PDF

We also use Cisco VXC 2111 zero clients (connected to the Cisco voip phone). The thin client connects and manages to authenticate with the password. However, the client also asked that the password and then passes the user on the desktop.

I can't find info on how to do to prevent it ask the password too. Any ideas?

EDIT: I discovered that the Cisco VXC 2111 running 4.6 View Client. I wonder if this is the problem?

I'll have to test it with a Wyse P20 and see if there is a difference.

    1. with RSA SecurID authentication, find password guests once SecurID authentication is complete. The password is necessary in order to perform SSO to the virtual office. If the view does not request password, SSO is not possible and the user must sign - one for each virtual desktop in any case. SecurID represents an additional authentication at the beginning of the sequence.

    2. you need not install the RSA Agent on view connection server. View has all that he needs to perform SecurID authentication against RSA Authentication manager.

    3. it is a very old document you are referencing. It's to see 3.0. See here for the latest documentation for each version of the view. http://KB.VMware.com/kb/2003455

    I hope this helps.

    Read this article: http://www.burdweiser.com/?m=201104

I don't know how true that is, but it can be interesting to your inquiry. We use thin clients Wyse P20 and they do not have built in Kiosk mode. I hope this helps.
