You may need to consider a replacement hinge operation, perhaps note if

the new hinges seem to lack lubrication prior to installation; Maybe use a

few modern synthetic lubrication instead of silicone. Most of propellants

silicone spray will end off-gass; If some silicone stays behind.

And any excess can seep or drip some time, if not synthetic is used.

Some of the best products are used in fine machines or mechanical

camera, or other maintenance & repair. Most say if synthetic &

some people are not spray. I have used several; most work better than

silicone spray and last longer. New hinges could be bent several times

before the installation with a synthetic lubricant worked in the pivot points.

Clean all excess, if you do this. Synthetic good will dry and leave

only lubrication, no propellant gas. And dry lubrication does not attract dust.

This lubricant should prevent metal-on-dinner wear, as in a car engine.

    {Note, other users had problems with their MacBook Pro 17-inch hinges}

being too loose; While maybe something to consider before lubing pre

the replacement of hinge before Assembly; Flex-maybe just the few

dozen times to see if they break some without synthetic lubrication. I'd do it

consider squats for a while, then apply synthetic flex a little more, and

wipe; to see if they break a little... before installing the new hinges. The

hinges may present some pieces of metal in the excessive lubrication, which will show you

    upward on fluffy clean (disposable) fine cloth, it is removed.}

  • Very loose hinges and possible virus on the Macbook pro

    Hi all

IV ' e noticed my macbook pro screen hinges become very loose and the screen comes back without any force. How much does it cost to repair? Also, how a cleaning of the computer at a cost of virus? I did not buy my computer from an apple reseller but my local Best Buy.

    Thanks again!

"How much does it cost to fix?

First of all, check your warranty coverage > https://checkcoverage.apple.com/

If your warranty has expired, take the Mac at Best Buy for repairs. No one here can tell what the repair might cost.

In the second place. What happens on your Mac that makes you think that there is a virus?

  • Damaged hinge on 2015 rMBP (no apple care)

I read some old threads on the subject, but if I could get a more current response, I would really appreciate it.

Shortly after I bought 1 year ago, hinge on the left side that is detached and has slowly been opening the zipper to the far right over the past year. I realize that the apple store is going to tell me I need to replace the screen (for $450), but could someone please advise on how I can receive this service without care of apple (and without having to pay $450)? I did not drop the MBP or something like that, so I think I should be entitled to fix what appears to be a defect of the product. Any advice on how I can make my case to the apple store?

TLDR: MBP damaged hinge, how do I repair free of charge without care apple apple store?

    Thank you!

Had purchased Applecare, maybe it's not a problem.  The result is that Apple will not fix your MBP for free.

You might consider a third party repair service, you can find online or do the repair yourself.  PowerBookMedic.com and iFixit.com sell spare parts Apple and have excellent instructions for repairs.

  • HP ENVY 1090ee 6 - left hinge broken

I bought HP, Acer, Lenovo and Asus because I thought that the only thing that HP offers each time, is of exquisite build quality. However, today, I was met with a surprise. The left hinge (one near the power button) has apparently unravel, as if on its own.

Surprised as I was, I contacted the technical support. Surprise, Surprise, my warranty information is wrong. Ive lost out on half a year warranty services.

FLASH BACK: DUBAI - laptop bought on 3 February, 13 - great expectations.

SKIP TO PRESENT: INDIA - lost hinge broken and guaranteed.

Then I took a deep breath and open the HPSA faithful once again, inform the specialist my "fake date of purchase" (note that I am in India at the time). I am informed by the technician that I have 'support of the HP tech to the Arab Emirates UNITED to rectify the problem. '

    A STRIKE.

Thus, everyone knows how 'good' the guarantee are services in India. I remember having an old all-in-one HP printer. The printer does not work, so we took to the "authorized" HP nearest after-sales service. The first day we went, we were not given any "service". The next day we went, that they claimed THAT NOTHING under the guarantee it covers. They could be right, but oh well, we paid for rectification.

So now I feel like its going to be a repeat of the last time. And it's funny, because I found a large NUMBER of people having the same problem. I don't want to support the customer, waste BECAUSE I SAW them HELP OTHERS. The sad part is that these people are mostly from the States.

Maybe its not justified, but it always seems like the developing countries get the worst of both worlds. We are the highest consumer population, and yet we get the inflated prices (I know are due to many factors beyond the control of the company) and poor service.

I can't believe that there is not a single HP to Mumbai service center is, well, purely HP, and not a 3rd party "authorized dealer". I suppose that can't do anything on this subject and maybe as I write this in vain, but if someone is listening (or reading), may I suggest at least to have a third party service center. This will help a LOT.

I hope someone can help me.

  • Satellite S50t - B008 a hinge broke

I wonder what to do - I regularly use this laptop and now a hinge broke. It has not yet been completely, but I'm afraid that it will be soon. It is still covered by the warranty? I didn't fall or something, it just happened one day a few weeks ago. How can I solve this problem? My laptop is still under warranty.

Same problem here, the right hinge is broken. He broke some time ago, but now it is getting worse. I guess because it is a matter of construction, I see a lot of people have the same problem (under warranty) and Toshiba does not.

  • Satellite T110-121 - broken the hinge/bracket

Anyone know the part number of a set of display/hinge for the T110-121 media?

Mine broke last week and I can't seem to buy a replacement or a suitable alternative.
    Thanks in advance.

EH... it is not easy to get this information, but, in my opinion, you don't need it. all Satellite T110 have the same hinges and there is no difference.
Different can be only the motherboard and some other hardware components like Ram LAN wireless card, HARD drive and so on.

Basics like hinges are the same. I don't know where you live but try to use Google for your country and check if you can find the hinge Set support or laptop computer Toshiba Satellite T110 hinges.

Also, check eBay for your country.

Noticed the flexibility increase at first then the left hinge of closing of pop and split the case. I had the chance to put back in place and snap it back but it's tenative at best. I see no proactive movement side HP on this chronic problem. What happens with that. I just purchased another HP and have my HP Pavilion dv4-1435dx sitting next to me. • HP Envy m6: hinge problem

    Hello world

I'm having the same problem of hinge than many other people with my Hp Envy m6. It is more under warranty and I wonder what are the options I have. My laptop is everything to me because I'm in my last year of college and I'm also a DJ is an essential part of my life.

Bottom left of my screen (black plastic part) is cracked due to hinges loosens. I see many other people are having the same problem, but it becomes serious on my laptop as the screen begins to blink if I move the laptop.

Could someone please point me in the right direction as seems to be a problem with the hardware as one number of others have the same problem.

    Thank you for your time,

    Brendan Lambe.

  • Replacement of the frame and hinges - HP Pavilion dm4 laptop

I have a HP Pavilion dm4 laptop of 2.5 years. The first hinged on both sides broke that makes it harder for the laptop to close properly and now the frame is breaking apart. Is there a way I can get/buy replacements before other parts are screwed up.

    Thank you

Yes, I also have this problem (dm4-1050ea).

It all started on February 2015, when my aunt noticedv that my laptop was nt close properly.  It could be be made to do by pressing half upper (screen cut) to the front to the rear of the closure.

The hinges then becomes deective that the screen don't would not SOUPLESE nd would not sit just to the place (angle) you open to.

Following the hinges too stiff beame to exploit, came shortly after the left of the screen/lid and the window broke near the LH hinge (rather than though the bezel as shown in the image above). Then the right hinge broke off, then the screen become deective (mainly a band along the LHS - worked with detached hinges OK))

So, I find myself with computer work, not 100% functional & broken and needs special care to use. the screen does not work in all areas (a replacement looks like £30-$50), with the virtually hanging screen, need to rplace lying hinges (£10-$15) and also nees any other bits (?) and the knowledge to fix it.  HP say they can't stand any more of this model and have no theparts (from end of 2015).

It may be beyond the capacity of an almighty ccompany such as HP to find parts, but it does not seem beyond the my ability to get parts of - maybe-2nd hand - other HP broke! - But what I lak is kno detailed ho a skill to perform any repair.

  • HP Envy 15 Notebook PC: HP Envy 15 laptop hinges

I am extremely disappointed by HP; I bought my computer just long enough so that the warranty expires before that one of the attching the display hinges to the broken keyboard, something that has been difficult to close computer and, in general, to use. It is a problem that other users have had on other models of ENVY, but when I tried to reach out to a HP representative by phone, informed me that I would be charged $229.99 for a repair. It's discouraging and mind-boggling that a mechanical problem, most likely the one who comes to me sent a defective product because it was not the result of the computer never dumped, would cost me about 20% of the price of the computer to fix.

My right bulge of hinge and is open to the rear. My left hinge is also cracking and bulging. I can't close the top and RIM has begun to crack and now is broken down and remains open down.
