HP Envy m6: hinge problem

Hello world

I'm having the same problem of hinge than many other people with my Hp Envy m6. It is more under warranty and I wonder what are the options I have. My laptop is everything to me because I'm in my last year of college and I'm also a DJ is an essential part of my life.

Bottom left of my screen (black plastic part) is cracked due to hinges loosens. I see many other people are having the same problem, but it becomes serious on my laptop as the screen begins to blink if I move the laptop.

Could someone please point me in the right direction as seems to be a problem with the hardware as one number of others have the same problem.

Thank you for your time,

Brendan Lambe.

When I open the laptop now, the left back of the low box (below the left hinge) breaks down as the screen is high in a viewing position. I have to press the back of the left side of the bottom of the case and the top of the case to get the left rear of the closed box. When I drop the screen, the left rear of the case is falling apart and stay outside until the screen is closed. I am able to close the left rear of the case by pressing the up and down of the left rear of the case together. The right hinge and the back of the right side of the case do not have this problem. This problem started today. I have pictures smartphone that I can send if necessary. The notebook and the screen is operational. Just do not know what is happening with the left hinge to force the case apart on the back left side of the front panel.

  • HP Envy 17 Notebook PC TS left hinge problem

Left hinge on my HP Envy TS 17 Notebook PC pushes the lower lid of my laptop open whenever I open and close my laptop. My desire is quite recent and it is still under the one year warranty.

    Hello

Yes.  MY problem is solved.  Company and I got the replacement unit successfully.

Note: If you have a lot of software installed, especially of VMs on your current laptop, so my personal advice would be to get the repaired unit, I came across the problem to reactivate the license think little software, I do several facilities and refuse activation.   However after talking to the licensing issue has been resolved, but it consumes a lot of time.

However, if the activation of the license is not a problem for you then unit replacement is better.

    Concerning

PS. but in the new laptop also, I always get a little tic noice when I open and close the laptop from the left hinge.   That is why I it opens very slowly.  I have just pray and hope that it does not break.  because I get 2nd replacement.

  • HP Envy TS hinge 15 questions

I just joined this forum when I did a search on HP Envy hinge problems and found so many comments.  I also have a problem with my left hinge, which causes the separation of my case.  My computer is still on warranty for another week so I submitted an application through the HP warranty Center which is refused (I think. The message was not clear, but the header says that my case was closed).

I take care of my equipment with my previous (much cheaper ACER) laptop lasts for about 5 years.  The more expensive HP should not be considered a disposable object less than a year.

Any help or advice on what I can do to keep my cell phone functional would be greatly appreciated!

  • Touchpad HP ENVY 4-1215dx problems

There are a few problems with the touchpad on my laptop 4-1215dx HP ENVY.  One problem is the bottom of the touch pad, which is used for left and right clicks.  Sometimes the click noise is very loud and sound like something is broken, and the click does not work.  If I put the laptop mode only 'sleep' and leave it for 3-4 hours, everything works when I exit mode "Eve".  I highly doubt to update or reinstall the driver would fix the loud rattling noise.

The second problem occurs on when you tapoterez the main part of the touchpad to make a right or left click.  I have tap several times, and the click does not work.  It works after taking the laptop out of fashion 'sleep'.

The two problems are random and cannot be re-created at will.  Due to the loud click noise I think something can be broken with the touchpad or the motherboard underneath.  If the touchpad is broken, can it be replaced or what I have to live with it or get a new laptop?  Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

    Gary

    Hi @garyg45

I saw your post about the problems with the touchpad of your wife. From what you described, it could be a hardware problem with the touch pad. I suggest you reinstall your Synaptics TouchPad because it is a solution that requires no disassemble the laptop or send it in for repair.

    Synaptics TouchPad Driver (Windows 7)

    Synaptics TouchPad Driver (Windows 8/8.1)

If you have had the laptop for less then one year or bought a long warranty give us a call for a repair. You can reach HP Total Care at 1-800-474-6836 in North America or Start here if you live outside of North America.

The TouchPad is a replaceable part and page 54 of your Maintenance and Service of Guide , you will find instructions on how to replace it and the compatible replacement part numbers. Do not do this if you are in warranty, as this leads to the cancellation.

  • HP Pavillion m6 1005tx laptop hinge problem

I have been using HP Pavillion m6 1005TX for 1.5 years. But from the beginning there was problem in the hing of the laptop. He made his 'kad - kad' when I open or closed the laptop. And, by the way of 3 of my friends who have the same laptop reported the hinge problem. I want to know, is this a manufacturing defect?

If yes or no! Is it covered under warrany?

I need the replacement of hinge and defective parts. Please give your insight.

My warranty is valid until August 15, 2015.

Thank you for your valuable comments. The troubled free hinge changed HP service center. It is covered by the warranty. I appreciate HP for fast service.

  • HP Envy hinge problem

Have the same problem of hinge like so many others.

Model laptop is HP Envy 1006ea 6 - Sleekbook

Hinge began to crack, so before it is gone completely, a small amount of glue had been applied to other damage preent.

It does not, the two hinges have now broken off--he has not been abandoned, it's not our fault.

Following this same problem, I had to replace the screen, as the hinges were therefore again, the screen cracked on the opening, and it has already cost £ 60. (I thought that I had to pay it as it was out of warranty)

Now both hinges broke I have found that there is a fault common, thought that my laptop, initially bought at retailers Currys, is not guaranteed in about 4-5 months.

Please let know us what you are able to do, as the laptop is literally now falling apart, with wires hanging out and can't be moved/open/closed.

Your call center says it's not their problem, but I think it is.

This post will be remounted. Look at your PM Inbox and you receive a communication. I am unable to promise that, but it would still be a good idea to keep an eye on it.

  • HP envy m6 broken hinge problem

Bought a hp envy m6 in December 2012 for 630 books and 18 months later hinge snaps completely off causing the surrounding cases break. HP will do nothing about it because it is outside the one year warranty. I am disgusted as many other hp HP customers are not repair these free laptops for many customers with the same problem. Because hp would not put this issue on the recall list customers are left with broken laptops. I am disgusted with the service the customer of hp on this issue and I would advice anyone looking to buy a hp want to not waste their money on one. I've always had less expensive brands of laptops that have certainly taken longer than this expensive hp one. Shame on hp for this poor customer service

  • HP Envy 15t: 15 t broken hinge problem affecting current laptops?

There is no way to know for sure, but the new 15t has a design to hinge significantly different than those that have caused so many problems. I'm too familiar with the faulty hinge issue and after watching the new design, I'd say it's a better. Hope that helps... and I hope even more that I'm not steering you wrong.

  • 6 envy: envy defective hinges

I bought a portable Envy Touch 15 months ago (3 months warranty) the hinge is defective and cracks and splits from the bottom panel whenever I open the screen. I've already sent it to repair a few months after I bought it. But then it breaks again... and again. The product is clearly defective. Many others complained about this, as well.  HP customer service is a joke; It seems that, once expired warranty can happen to anyone. I am a lawyer and look forward to sue HP for the product liability. But in the meantime, anyone know the best way to solve the problem of hinge? is there a secret way to actually reach someone at HP? A place you can recommend take it to be repaired?

    Thanks for any help!

  • TouchSmart HP Envy 15: hinges

I had my HP Envy for two years. I am the only user of this laptop. The left hinge broke after a few months. He was motionless - a desktop and never carried, so never interrupted and obviously defective. I was told that the hinges are not covered by warranty, so I made the decision to tolerate because I didn't want to be without him for a duration indefinite and also felt that the estimated $ 250 for repair was not reasonable.

A few weeks later, the right hinge broke out causing a significant separation in the case. This past weekend, the keyboard started to fail. Some letters do not register and be copied and pasted (you can appreciate how long it takes me to write this!). I took in a repair shop today in hopes to have a replacement installed keyboard and told him that they would not be able to help me because according to them, they wouldn't be able to put it back together as a result of the damage caused faulty hinges. According to them, the best option, all things considered, would be to buy a wireless keyboard and resign myself to the idea that what I have here is a desktop computer.

HP... responsibility for these hinges failed without your normal rate. You have created a less DEFECTIVE with a quality design product, a portable otherwise fantastic rendering useless. It is a widespread problem that does not have to be accepted clients who invest more than $1,000 in this product.

I sent emails and left a phone message.  Nor were returned.  I hope that I can anticipate a resolution soon?

  • FORMIDABLE HINGE PROBLEM LIKE 6!

OK it's finally happened, my wife opened the laptop this morning and surprise! the left hinge cracked and bent the housing of the display, leaving us unable to open or close the laptop. This is obviously a design flaw, I am an engineer in mechanics by trade, but I think everyone can see that the screw that holds the carter plastic on the screen with a thin metal reinforcing framework (which is now all too visible) would still give out at some point not to mention the fact that the load of the floating hinge is facing what opening and closing are too much.

I'd appreciate it if someone from HP could let me know how they will solve this problem for me. It's a HP Envy 6-1010sa just turned 2 years old.

    Thanks george-p,.

Jeff of HP has messaged me, I look forward to his solution
