XP mode no internet connectivity

For reasons unknown, I suddenly lost internet connectivity in XP mode on my Windows 7 computer.  Connectivity is fine in Windows 7.  I tried many fixes and none have worked.  On some of them, I get that the network is unable to assign an IP address.  XP mode is configured correctly, but apparently something interferes with the internet connection that had previously been working very well.  I have a dual NIC card but change the card or the card settings did not work.  Then, I tried everything Basic that anyone anywhere has suggested.  I have to go out and buy a machine separate applications to work running XP because Microsoft supports so badly the XP mode?  PC manufacturer was not able to solve.  Work IS dept was not able to solve.  For me, there is clearly a network problem, but nobody can understand.  Integration features are enabled and all that stuff.  The router works fine.  I give up hope...

  • Why I can boot into safe mode with internet connection, use the operating system, etc., but can not open a normal session without password administrator; who got the disabled.

OEM Vista Home Premium. Normal startup does not recognize the password. When you click User icon it says: "your account has been disabled. Please, see your system administrator"I looked in the mirror, but it did not help. Booted, press F8, went in safe mode with network connection. Everything seemed to be there. Surf the internet and then started to ask me why I don't have a password here when I did normal start-up. What is the password? Check "Microsoft Answers", but what I came out which was, I need to reinstall the OS, which I can't do it without a drive anyway.  I thought that I've used it before, I knew the password. This computer has been recently "reinstalled" internal folder 'restore '. Something must happen. A unknown password can be removed from safe mode? Ultimately how reinstall you a clean Vista when all you have is the key to product and no local or OEM support? What would be the difference between a password reset disk and the OS disk.  The two would probably be stored side by side. Not to mention that most of us Dummies want to just surf to buy, and if we can not surf, we cannot buy. Dummies help us get back on the internet, Microsoft. At least take care of this shot.

    Hi PAM,.

In Safe Mode, try to activate the high administrator account http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/enable-the-hidden-administrator-account-on-windows-vista/.  Then log in using account and use it to solve problems with your normal administrator account login via control panel / user accounts / manage other accounts.  Find the one you want and make the appropriate changes to fix it.  If you can't, then you need to address as a corrupt account by using the following procedure:

To fix this use http://windows.microsoft.com/en-AU/windows-vista/Fix-a-corrupted-user-profile.  If this is the only available administrator profile (you must be an administrator to solve this problem), activate the hidden administrator account (HAA) (i.e. what you did above, or you can do this by using these instructions instead: http://www.computerworld.com/s/article/9001970/How_to_access_the_true_Administrator_account_in_Windows_Vista?taxonomyId=17&pageNumber=1.)

Once that is done, don't forget to disable the HAA to save it in case it is necessary once again and for safety reasons (since people often try to hack into systems using this account).  Do NOT use the HAA as your administrator account because if you lose the only administrator on the system account or it is damaged again, then you're watered.

The fact that it says it is disabled gives me to think that you can use the guest or built-in Administrator account already (as normally, you cannot disable an account, but you can with these two which cannot be deleted and only disabled).

The password reset disk is only good if created before that you need and only to restore a password, do not to activate a disabled account.  Another thing that goes beyond passwords here.

A recovery disk allows you to do some advanced options of recovery by booting the disk, but it will help you restore the operating system (or help you with this problem either).

An Installation of Vista genuinve disc (the operating system drive as you seem to be describing) is a disk that contains the operating system.  That, if it is the original disc supplied with the system and is exactly the same as the product OEM key that you must allow you to do a clean OS install (although I would be first backup you'll pretty much lost everything in the process).  The following should help: http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/117366-clean-install-full-version-vista.html.

If you have a factory Conditions or a recovery Partition restore disk, then these are alternatives to a clean install if you don't have this disc.  But the procedure varies according to the manufacturer, make and model of PC.  Most of the manufacturers will allow you to buy these records of restoration (for a fee) If you cannot do it with a recovery Partition cannot create diskettes from the recovery Partition or have no other option.  Visit the support site of the computer for information on this topic, available options, and related costs.

If you cannot enable the built-in Administrator account and cannot access the system in normal mode with this or another administrator account, then I'm afraid a clean install or restore to factory conditions is your only option.

    I hope this helps.

    Good luck!

  • Utility to update host without an Internet connection

    Hi all

I want to update / patch an ESXi 4.0 machine. However, a virtual machine there is the firewall, so when I put the host in maintenance mode, the Internet connection goes. It seems that the host update utility preload the patches themselves, so patching of course fails due to the inaccessibility of the VMWare deposits.

There it's a decent way around this, i.e. can I preload the patches somehow?

    See you soon

Sorry for that. It seems that VMware has recently changed the index.xml file and added "main/esx /" to the , which caused the error because the obliques. To fix this, simply insert the following line of (in bold) in the cmd file in step 1, which converts slashes to backslashes.

  • Internet connection only in Mode safe mode with networking

I was using the Internet at home, when I had a pop up telling me there was an anti-virus program download. I pulled out the window pop-up, rebooted the computer and turned on safe mode with network. I thought it was just a problem of virus/malware/spyware. Since I installed several programs to prevent/remove any type of spyware (virus, etc.), I decided to run in safe mode, just in case. I ran the and after he said that my computer was clean, I restarted the computer in normal mode. The internet, however, did more work. He said that the Internet connection was closed portals HTTP, HTTPS and FTP. He also recommended that I check my firewall settings. I use the internet in safe mode with networking, and it works here though.

I'm not really sure what the problem is with the internet settings. I could really use some help!

    Hi AngelicaR,

OK, you should now check your firewall settings, to do so right click my network connection on your desktop-> select Properties (or click Start-> Settings Control Panel-> network connection)

Now right click on your connection to the LAN->-> Advanced->-online advanced, settings, settings-the default settings online-> restore default settings. This will restore the default firewall on your local network connection. Click ok on the screen and restart your pc to see if its working.

If you find the same problem again and then come to the same path: required connection to the local network-> settings-> Advanced-> settings-online Exceprions-> Tickmark the HTTP, HTTPS and FTP, also tickmark "display notification when firewall blocks a program" that will help you the notification to allow access through the firewall. Click ok on the whole screen, restart your pc.

    I hope this helps.

  • Lose Internet connection after sleep/standby/hibernation Mode

I recently bought a new HP Pavilion Elite e9105z CTO Office and migrated from Win XP to Vista Home Premium x 64, with a NVIDIA nForce 10/100 Mbps Ethernet Controller.  Whenever I come off standby or standby mode, I lose my Internet connection and have to restart my system or run Windows Network Diagnostics to repair the network adapter settings.

I tried several remedies available on Internet; but unfortunately, nothing has resulted in a permanent solution.  I contacted my service provider ISP (Mediacom) wonder if it was / is a problem with the firmware used to my cable modem SBV5220 support (for example, incompatibility with Vista) and they said there is no.  So far, I have:

    1. Reinstalled NIC driver.
    2. Power options controlled and reset with USB CDC.
    3. Apply the update for Windows Vista (default gateway setting is lost) for x 64 systems (KB933872) - response that update does not apply to the system.
    4. Reset the IP configuration via the Cmd line.
    5. Tab power, unchecked the box that shuts down the adapter then power save comes into play.

Access the computer several times a day and having to reset Internet connections became extremely aggravating.  I hope there is a solution.  Thanks in advance for your help.

Back from a 3 week stay, during which my office has been extinguished, my local internet connection would come is no longer active when he came out of hibernation.  The without line worked, but the local connection would not work unless physically, I unplugged the cable from the router (Netgear) and reinserted it.

After several days of frustration, I went into the Manager of devices, unchecked ethernet optional adapter "allow the computer to turn off this device."
This seems to have cleared up the problem, at least until now...

  • Very slow internet connection on Win 7 on SSD, but works very well with the OS on the HARD disk and the mode safe on SSD

Original title: network very slow connection on the current installation of Windows?

So my situation is that I have two disks (SSD and HDD) who both have a Windows installation.

Because this SSD is an I got free and is in used condition, I left my copy of Windows 7 intact on my mechanical failure of the SSD drive.

Now the question is, my internet connection is very, very poor, unless I run in safe mode, or the installation on my mechanical drive.

I use a wired connection, and our connection at home is limited to 120/10 mbit/s, while I have 5/10 at the most.

I tried to replace the LAN drivers of my motherboard (MSI FM2-A85XA-G43) using both the driver disc that was bundled with my motherboard, Device Manager and the official site of MSI, I also checked my entire system using Malwarebytes, which detected 7 threats and were abducted, nothing helps.

I also tried the DNS which did nothing either of hot flashes. Now notice what computer of my brother is also connected and works well.

Now as I type this, I discovered that my speed has suddenly got stable again out of the blue, but I'm skeptical it will remain, so I still want to ask what is / was going on here.

    Thank you for your time.

Sorry for the late response here, I've been very busy with the developments in the last days and completely focused on it.

More than a week has passed since the problem disappeared as if by magic, and so far I don't see the signs of what is going on again.

I think that the problem has passed away now, but if it arises again I will probably update this.

Thanks for all the suggestions and your time in this issue.

    Hello

Were there any changes made on the computer before the show?

    Method 1:

I suggest you to disable the IP assistance service and check.

    (a) hold down the Windows key and type R, type "services.msc" (without the quotes) and press on Enter.
    (b) scroll down for IP assistance service, right click top and select Properties.
    (c) in the drop-down list that says "Automatic" or "Manual", set it to disabled and then click 'apply'.
    (e) then click on 'Stop' to stop the service from running in the current session.
    (f) click on OK to exit the dialog box.

    Method 2:

If the problem persists, you can disable Internet Protocol version 6 (IPv6) components and check.

Follow the steps in the article to disable IPV6:

  • No Internet connection when the laptop is off mode "Eve".

When I close the lid on my laptop (which puts the computer into sleep mode) or he falls asleep with the lid open, there is no internet connection when I wake the computer.  I have to either run the Troubleshooter or perform a reboot to get connectivity.  This problem just started and I got the laptop almost 2 years. It runs on Windows 7.  I don't know much about computers.  Does anyone have any suggestions?

When out of standby or hibernation, your wireless network connection can not reconnect if power on your wireless adapter options are set to a power saving mode. To check or change your current power options, follow the steps below for your operating system:

    1. Open Power Options by clicking the Start button, click Control Panel, clicking system and security, and then clicking Power Options.
    2. Next to your currently selected power plan, click change plan settings, and then click that to change advanced power settings.
    3. Click to expand wireless adapter settings section, and then click to expand the Energy saving Mode section.
    4. If the setting is currently nothing else that "Maximum Performance", click it, and then select A maximum Performance.

You can also set the setting on drums on "Maximum Performance". For more information on power management, see the feature page of power management on the Microsoft Web site.

Please see recommended settings of WiFi routers and access Apple points.

Despite these recommendations, some routers will work better with the latest Mac models if you turn the radio 2.4 GHz mode in settings and only use the 5 GHz. Note, however, that very old devices Apple and some third-party devices can then not connect at all.

Some third party routers have advanced that you may need to change the settings:

The encryption algorithm must be AES.

The group key interval must be 3200.

I can't give you specific instructions on how to change these settings, because all routers are different. Refer to the documentation for the provider.
