XP SP3 ntdlr is missing!

I use XP pro SP3 and ntldr is missing, I have inserted my XP CD and went to the BIOS setting to boot from the CD-ROM. But I could not access the repair installation process because my computer is returned to the screen with the message "press Ctrl + Alt + Delete. Do you have any idea how to solve this problem? Thank you.

I've solved this problem by making a boot disk. This is the first time that this error has ever happened to my computer because it is updated regularly. Thank you very much for your answers.

  • XP installs - ntdlr.dll missing on the Satellite P300-133

We bought the satellite P300 with preinstalled Vista. It worked fine except for some major programs for hardware configuration in our society.

So, we tried to install XP Professional on the primary partition that has been formatted before that. The blue screen where XP installs its files (after you have created the partition and formatting it) on the end to 99%, it says 'missing ntdlr.dll '.

We first tought it has something to do with the SATA compatibility mode which we configured in the BIOS to cause driver AHCI missing on the XP CD. Then, we did a backup CD with nLite with the SATA drivers installed and run the AHCI mode.

The same problem at the same point. I DIND'T try with another copy of XP but I know that it (a month old scratch free original CD) works very well because I installed it on another laptop front.

The only thing that is strange od these partitions are mixed to the top. The partition where Vista was before is now D, it is also the reader where we tried to install XP, C is not the car with all the previous system backups and F it seams to be the Vista installation files.

Please any suggestions, its very urgent

  • Satellite Pro L630 - NTDLR missing

    Hello

Having a Satellite L630 which I installed WinXP (compatibility mode) and finally installed CheckPoint Full Disk Encryption (FDE) 7.3 HFA1. Restarts, she now comes up with an error "NTDLR is missing." Before installing the EDF, it was fine.

It was over on the Satellite U400, A10 and other models, and all have taken the DIP in the same method/procedure fine.

    Any ideas?

    Hi Mohsin.ikram,

I have never heard of this dip Financing program, but if this happened directly after installation, it seems to be a problem of compatibility of FDE tool and has nothing to do with Toshiba.
Looks like that it messed with the registry

  • Qosmio G30-161 does not start - NTDLR "file is missing

    Hi all

I have a G30-161 double HDD (in Raid 1) which no longer starts...
He just gives the message "file NTDLR is missing" and is followed by a prompt to restart the computer in which the same error will appear again.

I got this laptop for my son to fix (lucky me :(!)

Things, I've looked at so far:

-Check the BIOS to see if the disks are configured properly - BIOS indicates the two hard drives installed, online and in RAID 1
-J' had an installation of Windows XP by hand disc then tried to see if it would boot from a CD. He started on the CD ok, but the process Windows Recovery Console/install said he couldn't find any hard drives. Find an Acronis True Image boot disk (using linux I think), once again the started program end, but don't have it no hard drives installed.
    - So with no HD not reports I took one for a test. With disk 2 removed, in an attempt to start the system reports "RAID 1 is GRADIENT" then follows with "NTDLR file is missing. So this tells me that SW RAID working probably and he knows that a HD has been removed.
All the patches I've read on the PC forums involve the use of the XP Recovery CD or some, but it won't work because the system thinks there are no disc when it starts. We have no ' have a Toshiba Recovery disk for the machine.

Someone at - he saw the problem above, knows a fix?
Can I purchase a G30-161 recovery CD anywhere?

    Any help appreciated. ...

    Toshiba Tecra A3 - XP SP3... Toshiba Tecra A2 - LinuxPuppy

    Hello

First network controller can mean both LAN or WLAN card. If you check the vendor and device ID in Device Manager, you identify which device it is exactly. So please check the Web from Toshiba site for drivers:
    http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com-online decision-making supported Downloads & => Download drivers

As far as I know multimedia audio controller means that the audio driver and the display driver video controller.

But just one question: why you n t use the Toshiba Recovery disk? There are all the pre-installed drivers.

When you check the paths in the boot.ini file, and the recovery console is installed, you will always get an error message indicating that the startup path is not valid.

If the recovery console is actually corrupted just to uninstall, you can reinstall or burn a cd with the recovery console.

go here for instructions on deleting the recovery console.

Here's how to make a bootable xp recovery console cd

    Courtesy of JoseIbarra

You need start by booting in XP using a CD Recovery Console, you can do (no XP media required) and run a chkdsk with error correction command enough times until it is clean and if it does not, you can create a new boot.ini file (this is usually one of two things).

    Here's how:

Use the XP Recovery Console to check the file system on your HARD drive and fix the problems and then try to start your system - this may be all you need to do.  Or, you are welcome to just start trying things that might work.

Boot into the Recovery Console Windows using an XP bootable installation CD.

If you have no XP bootable media (or aren't sure you have) create a bootable XP Recovery CD of Console and do not forget what you have (no XP media required).

This is not the same as recovery disks that might have come with the acquisition of the system store.

You can make a bootable Recovery Console CD by downloading an ISO file and burn it to a CD.

The ISO bootable image file you need to download is called:

    RC. ISO

    Download the ISO from here:

    http://www.thecomputerparamedic.com/?p=8    (courtesy of Daavee)

Use a new CD and this simple and free program to burn your ISO file and create your bootable CD:

    http://www.ImgBurn.com/

When you install ImgBurn, DO NOT install the Ask toolbar.

Here are some instructions for ImgBurn:

    http://Forum.ImgBurn.com/index.php?showtopic=61

It would be a good idea to test your bootable CD on a computer running.

You may need to adjust the computer BIOS settings to use the CD-ROM drive as the first device to boot instead of the hard drive.  These adjustments are made before Windows tries to load.  If you miss it, you will need to restart the system again.

When you start on the CD, follow the instructions:

Press any key to boot from CD...

    Installing Windows... going to pronounce.

Press 'R' to enter the Recovery Console.

Select the installation that you want to access (usually 1: C:\WINDOWS)

You may be asked to enter the password (usually empty).

You should be in the folder C:\WINDOWS.  It's the same as the

C:\Windows folder that you see in Solution Explorer.

The Recovery Console allows base as file commands: copy, rename, replace, delete, chkdsk, fixboot, fixmbr, cd, etc.

For a list of the commands in the Recovery Console, type help at the prompt of commands or read on here XP Recovery Console:

    http://www.Microsoft.com/resources/documentation/Windows/XP/all/proddocs/en-us/recovery_console_cmds.mspx?mfr=true

A good idea before you start things must first verify the integrity of your file system by using the chkdsk command.

In the command prompt window, run the chkdsk command on the drive where Windows is installed to try to fix any problems on the afflicted player.

Running chkdsk is fine, even if he finds no problem.  It won't hurt anything to run it.

Assuming your boot drive is C, run the following command:

    CHKDSK C: /r

Let chkdsk finish to correct the problems, he could find.

It may take a long time for chkdsk complete or they seem to be "stuck".  Be patient. If the HARD drive led blinks always, chkdsk is something.  Keep an eye on the amount of the percentage to be sure that it is still making progress.  It may even seem to go back sometime.

You must run chkdsk/r again until it finds no error to correct.

Remove the CD, and then type "exit" to exit the RC and restart the computer.

You have not to set the BIOS to boot the disk HARD since the CD won't be.

    ===============

    as for the other problems:

    did you use Registry cleaners?

    These can damage your system

You seem to be free of infection, it would seem that a part of your process cleaning has removed a necessary file.

    ===============

Checkdisk with parameter/r should be run. and run it again until there is no error.

    Thanks for your suggestions.
I wanted to post back to update everyone on my current situation.
I was going to ask your manual correction of the WSUS... when I got home tonight. However, at the start of my PC tonight the Automatic Update icon (yellow) was actually download updates once more and things work like they are supposed to. Maybe the MS is really followed this site and or you guys relay these flaws in MS for the correction.
Thanks for your suggestions, I've forgotten to be able to reset the update components!
    Finally, Syed:
If you can relay the suggestion to MS. I would like to see MS improve WSUS and also more importantly still provide and ENCOURAGE users to take and the advantage of teaching material that MS can offer users to consumers.

  • SP3 will correct a missing System 32 file problem?

I have been cheated by removing

    C:\Windows\System32\rundll32.exe

I can access Internet, but not my MS Office 2007 applications.  If I download and install SP3 on my PC it will restore this missing file?  Or is there another way to go about it - I tried to copy the file into another folder where I found the System 32 folder and that did not work.

    Thank you!

I downloaded a copy of the file you need on my SkyDrive (everyone has a SkyDrive for file sharing).

You can download it and when you do, place a copy of the file in these two folders (assuming that Windows is installed on your C drive):

    c:\Windows\System32
c:\Windows\System32\dllcache (this is where XP keeps backups of important files).

Here is the link to my SkyDrive and you can get the file you need here:

    http://CID-6a7e789cab1d6f39.SkyDrive.live.com/redir.aspx?RESID=6A7E789CAB1D6F39! 311

When you see the files available for download, you will not see the extension of file (.exe, .dll, .cpl, .sys, etc), but when download you them they will have the right extension.

You have to put the downloaded files in the correct folders on your system.

That may not solve all your problems, but at least you will be spending this part and we can then fix the rest
