XP stops the computer before filling the start up

I'm running XP I had a few errors with files corrupt but otherwise ok, but now my PC launcher the
run in safe mode or normal or with the page line comand on startup, depending on the option I chose a few seconds later, I get a blue screen with the error message, windows has shut down to prevent damage to the computer and if I get the message again once I should I try and run chkdsc /f or disable recently installed anti-virus software material he lists then a series of 8 digits
is there a way to work around this, restarting the system, save the data on the hard drive?
Thank you

William,
When there is a will, there's a way!  (no pun intended well well maybe a little...)

Are you able to boot into safe mode with command prompt?  If so then run "chkdsk/r" If you cannot start in safe mode and you have a XP CD and then start with it, hit R on the screen of the first or second, and that puts you in the Recovery Console.  You can then run chkdsk/r.

If this doesn't fix the problem then you can always try a repair installation (if you have an XP disc at retail).  If you have an OEM drive, you will need to check in what recovery options are available.  If it does not offer anything but a clean install, I would recommend pulling the drive and attaching it to another machine to extract the data.  Then the times of slate.  But if all goes well, it will not be this. I have also had problems with my computer.  Had a friend for the holidays watch, which quarantined to a single file.  The only thing we could figure out was that my McAfee program was running whenever I clicked or moved in my email accounts and he used all of the memory 2 g.  So I switched browsers Firefox, McAfee was not doing this, then it was fixed.  After about 5 days at home, McAfee was running with Firefox and slow things down.  I have McAfee online and they are gone, removed a bunch of files placed in quarantine and not something in the software.  It helped, but I still have questions that I had before my friend watched during the holiday season.  (If my printer is left on my computer is hampering trying to close or start.)  I never had this problem at the last place I've lived, but also had a direct line to the internet modem, when I am on a wireless adapter.  And I had problems with the computer in my old USB ports corrupt flash drives.  (* sigh * I just turn my printer power on and off when I need and turn off wireless on this subject because of this problem.)

I also had a warning of 'virtual memory is low' and also known as the end, and it is displayed when the computer is in standby or when I left it for a few minutes.  Again, I have 2G of RAM, but all these strange things began to happen as soon as I started running internet from a wireless key, not that I don't have the choice in my current setting.

    Hello

    1. when the question is is produced?
    2. don't you make changes to your computer before the problem?

Follow the steps in the article below and check if the problem persists.

    Step 1:

Restart the explorer.exe process and see if it helps.

    a. go go to the Task Manager (Ctrl + Alt + Del)
    b. click the process tab
    c. complete the task of explorer.exe
    d. click on file, select new task and type explorer.exe and press ENTER.

    Step 2:

Start your computer in safe mode and check if the problem persists.

    Step 3:

If not, then most likely there are a conflict of third party software that may cause the problem to occur. I suggest that you put your computer in a clean boot State and check. Clean boot eliminates conflicts of third party software.

Note: Follow step 7 to start your computer in normal mode.

    Step 4:

Perform the scan SFC for system missing files.

The tool (SFC.exe) System File Checker scans missing or system corrupted files and repairs them.

    Step 5:

Create a new user account and check if the problem is recurring in the newly created account.

If the problem does not persist in the new user account, it could indicate that your old user account is corrupted.

  • How to stop the "Microsoft" folder opens at startup

Whenever I start my computer, "C:\Program Files\Microsoft" opens. I went through each item, start nothing leading to this path. (msconfig, registry, and "Startup" in "Programs" folder.) Anyone know how to stop the start to the top of the file?

You are really the way strong, but as long you are looking at the registry "Run" keys, make sure that the names of path for various startup items are surrounded by double quotes.

I can find no documentation final for this - and there is certainly some entries in my key Run that have spaces in them, but are not surrounded by double quotes - but in general, Windows behaves better if you either do not use characters such as spaces or surround the path with quotation marks name.

    For example:

    "C:\Program Files\Fichiers Files\Adobe\ARM\1.0\AdobeARM.exe"

Because registry Analyzer seems to know the space in Program Files, and given your statement that the problem started when you installed Office, I suggest looking for an entry that starts C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office14\

If you find such an entry without quotes, modify to add and see if the problem goes away.

In the future, Autoruns is an easier way to find the startup entries... and it shows many places more than just two Run keys you watched.

  • Automatic scrolling of the list of favorites on the start menu to stop before you reach the bottom

I open the start menu, point the mouse on the Favorites bar and keep the cursor under the small arrow pointing down at the bottom of the list of favorites, as well as the list of bookmarks automatically scrolls down. But after scroll down a number of bookmarks, automatic scrolling stops before reaching the bottom of the list of favorites, view the rest of the empty list. I removed a lot of unnecessary bookmarks in the Favorites folder in Documents and Settings, but this does not resolve the issue. I would like suggestions for this problem, which I have not come across so far. I ran CHKDSK disk cleanup and defragged the volume of disk hard, but in vain. * original title - cancel recording of dvd/cd-rw *.

    Hello

Windows displays a temporary storage area where files are held before they are copied to the CD. Files or folders located in the temporary storage area are listed under files ready to be written on the CD.

Try the steps and check them off below if it helps:

    a. double-click my computer and then double-click the CD burner.

    b. under CD writing tasks, click on delete temporary files.

When you delete the contents of the temporary storage area, you can set this field to another set of files and folders that you want to copy to the CD. The files are not deleted from their location on your computer or on the CD.
