XPS 9550 headphone / audio question

Hello

Anyone else with the XPS 15 9550 has problems with headphones / internal speakers not working not properly?

Start the computer without any headphones, the speakers work. However the headphones do not work if it is inserted.  On remove the headphones, the speakers, then stop working.

However if the start-up of the PC with headphones inserted, the headphones work.  On remove, the speakers do not work.  The headphones do not work if reinserted.

These two scenarios were fixed by restarting the PC.

10 windows, and all drivers, including BIOS and audio - are up to date at 17/11/5.

Yes change the daughter card worked for me.

Initially when I posted I thought it would be a driver problem.  After the successive updates pilot / changes did nothing, I replaced it a couple of weeks.  It took the technician about 20 minutes total

The headphones and the sound now works as it should.

    I think I'm having a problem installing with DellBIOSProvider a XPS9550 I am not able to directly target the DellSmbios path or a mapped drive PS.

    I'm on Windows 10 1511 x 64 enterprise on a XPS 9550 with firmware A06.

    I don't get any errors and run in verbose mode doesn't give any warning or failure.

    Edit 2:

    It seems that the question is when the module is imported when running in the system context.  When the Import-Module command is executed under the user context of the PSDrive is created.  I suspect that's not intentional - can - we confirm/deny?

    I was able to solve this problem.  The issue has been a tool that I used to send commands to a machine remote powershell was instantiation of each order, so the PSDrive was created and destroyed during the import.  I was able to prove by running the import so that Get-PSDrive in a single command and he returned DellSmbios correctly.

    If I buy a new XPS 15 9550 pre-configured with a PCIe of 256 GB Solid State Drive and the small battery, a HD caddy will be included so that I can add a 2.5 drive "later?

    So I only this post to help clear what is involved in the installation of a 2.5 drive "in the new XPS 15. I had the model 9550 with the small 56whr battery and 256 GB PCIE SSD, intending to install a 500 GB 2.5 "Evo 850 for extra storage. Like others, I found the little sata cable to do this, has not been included, so I did a lot of digging for info. I understand that most this info is somewhere out there scattered on other posts, but here's what you need to know in one place:

    1. Models of PCIE SSD of XPS 15 do not come with the cable required to connect a 2.5 drive sata ".

    2. I bought a Dell official cable sata laptop off of Ebay, hoping it would allow me to plug the drive 2.5 "hard. I installed it into the laptop and the fit snug on the motherboard, but with this cable connector is connected, the laptop lights. Numbers of reference cables has been dc02c005s00.

    3. I contacted Dell and they confirmed that I needed a special sata cable (even in the shape and the design that I bought, to be just different wiring) which was designed just for this laptop. The cable you need for a 2.5 drive "is the XDYGX part number.

    4. I contacted the sales parts & accessories Dell, and they placed a special order for this cable. It is not just available on the Dell store, you must communicate with their parts for her Department. They charged me $9.99 for cable, with free shipping.

    Maybe this will help clear up some confusion regarding the necessary cable to add a 2.5 drive to the new XPS 15. Once more the part number of the cable you need from Dell is XDYGX.

    I got a Satelite L750-12N computer laptop and work just for 1/2 minute after sound from speakers stop and I need to relog or restard pc to read still sound speaker still 1 minute, headphones work well but I get speaker sound 1 minute and then my laptop is as mute.

    I have no problems with the driver, I have reinstaled, Unistaled, updated, Changed, changed operating system and nothing same problem with win 7 x 60 and now with win 8 x 64, updated the bios with the latest version etc...

    I guess its related material issue since you have already installed the Win 7 and Win 8 OS and the question appear with two Windows systems.

    Based on the fact that the earphones are OK, I think that its hardware related issue maybe speaker problems
    From my point of view, you should ask service for a verification of the hardware guys.

    I have two jacks speaker on the side, with a microphone jack. Question; Why have I not two speaker jacks, and what are the 'characteristics' that provides the Beats Audio?

    The additional is for sharing - and other games.

    Audio beats is mainly a marketing thing.  The full impact of the audio cannot be lived without some higher end equipment: headphones or external speakers that you attach to your computer.  The built-in speakers are... hmm... not a copy.  If you invest in some good speakers / headphones, beats chip will provide some audio very nice.  The controls are somewhat the same thing you would find in a pile of control.

  • XPS 8700, taken audio

    I have a new Dell XPS 8700, it has 6 audio jacks with teeny tiny symbols which color jack I plug my stereo speakers to? For the moment I plugged them into the headphone jack on the top of the computer. Here, the volume is very low. I tried to plug in the 6 taken with no luck. The speakers are an older Dell.

    green = channels before black stereo output = output stereo rear gray = side of the stereo output

    or = double output, center, subwoofer blue = pink = stereo output line level output mono microphone

    At least that is what my xps book says 8700.  Check the speaker icon in the taskbar for noise levels, they can be settled true bottom. Also check the recorder sounds, accessories, click OK, click on speakers. I hope this helps.

  • How to set up a USB Microphone and a headphone audio jack at the same time on Windows 7?

    I recently bought a CAD u37 USB microphone for use in various records and a commentator game on Youtube when I came across a problem. When I plugged the microphone all other sounds immediately extinguished and I couldn't hear the game. I tried to unplug and re - plug in the headphones and the microphone, even play with no helmet without result.

    I did some research and found out it's because the microphone is automatically configured for audio input and output and the card sound/headset, not having a configuration. I've recently considered buying a $5 female jack audio converter USB to work around this problem.
    Will this work, or just be a waste of money? Are there simpler solutions like a flick of a switch of audio control panel configuration? Are there any programs that will allow me to configure the audio and input output? Is it still possible? Thank you!

    I suggest you try to connect USB female to the converter audio jack, this should help to solve the problem with simultaneous USB microphone and audio input jack using headphones.

    According to the release notes for IOS 10.0.2, apple has fixed a problem that could prevent the audio controls headphones temporarily unemployed. but the problem is not resolved for my iphone 6 s more and today that I got the problem for wireless Beats headphones solo 3.

    I used my notebook G71-340 for more than a year. The only problem I ever had with him is the audio. Is it possible to improve the audio sound? Even with the volume to max, it is so weak that I have cam barely hear it. I use a work around, bought a pair of rechargeable speakers. I would like to know if there is any way to improve it, or is that the only choice is to replace?

    One thing that can help increase the volume is as follows.  Do a right-click the speaker icon in the taskbar and select "playback devices".  Left click the device once to highlight default (it is usually 'speakers and headphones') and then click the properties button.  Click the enhancements tab and put a check mark in the box "Loudness equalization.  Click on apply to save the changes and then click OK in all other windows and see if allowed at all.

  • Speaker/headphone/audio jack problem

    I recently had a problem with my headphones. The computer recognizes that I plugged but continues to use the external speakers and there is no noise coming through the headphones. I tried more than a pair of headphones and it still does not work. Computer restart worked once, but not anymore.

  • Mini 1000 headphone audio poor fix!

    Obviously, the people who run MI know that the poor quality of the sound in the headphones is a software problem, but he had not much info for the 99% of us under XP. Well, myhpmini.com people find a solution, so I thought I'd share the info. Apparently the XP drivers for the IDT HD audio codec have some type of audio the high pass filter setting to protect the speakers. Obviously totally unnecessary given laptop computers have been made for years without, especially if you want to connect to your stereo. In any case, if you install drivers for the device audio vista, it will solve this problem! I can only assume that, because vista is not a native operating system, it is unhindered. Here's the direct link: sp40714.exe. Before you run this, you'll want to uninstall IDT audio from the Add/Remove Programs list. Remove the IDT high definition audio CODEC of audio, video and game controllers in Device Manager. Otherwise, you might get an error when trying to install these drivers. Now, go enjoy the range sound quality!

    I have a HP Mini 1000 XP and I tried to load the Vista IDT Audio because drivers drivers XP IDT created in very poor sound quality.

    The pilot appeared to have loaded correctly.

    When I tested the Audio, it sounded excellent.  However, when I tried to connect any USB device or SD card in the unit, he did not know how

    to load these drivers.  He kept asking to load new drivers, and no matter what I tried, I wasn't able to get them to load.

    I started from scratch (what a pain) and re-formated / loaded XP from the recovery disk and tried again, and it happened again.  Big noise

    Vista drivers, but does not recognize the USB or SD devices existing or new.

    So, I wouldn't recommend installing audio drivers IDT of Vista on XP.

    Unless you found a way to circumvent the problem of driver that I lived.

  • Del XPS 13 no audio device

    Hello, I have a Dell XPS 13 and today it detects no audio.

    The "speaker" icon appears with a red x.

    And in the audio devices and devices Records, it shows that it is not any kind of device.

    Also in the control panel > devices shows that it cannot load the driver "Intel high Definition Audio.

    My mother has the same exact specifications and had the same problem since the last update of Windows. We've tried everything, download the drivers with Dell system detects, manually get the drivers from Realtek, nothing helps.

    We also had the "Intel High Definition Audio" in the device under 'Other devices' Manager as OP.

    What I tried, and surprisingly, what worked for me is as follows:

    1. right click on the Intel High Definition Audio device.

    2. Select "update driver software... »

    3. browse my computer...

    4. just choose from a list...

    5. something like 'Show all manufacturers' (top option in the list, can't exactly remember what she said and I can't do this again now).

    6. then, in the list on the left, select Realtek

    7. Select Manager Realtek HD Audio on the right (the version of January 2016) and install it.

    8. in the installation, you should already see the volume with the red cross icon, changing to normal volume icon :-)

  • Reference Dell place 8 7840 headphone / Audio Jack problem

    My place 7840 arrived last week and I really like this thing. Today, I finally plugged headphones into the phone 1/8 "plug and immediately heard a rehearsal 'click' sound, strong enough and not affected by volume or muting. Quickly, I rebooted the Tablet, then tried again in Airplane Mode. The same problem. Checked my sound settings. Everything was normal (Bluetooth audio works fine). Tried another set of headphones - same problem.

    Everyone fell on this? My helmet is defective?

    UPDATE! I found the problem. Problem solved.

    I use the Dell Folio, which came in the form of a Pack, and he made sure the headphones were enough to play sounds and 'feel' as it has been connected - connection but it wasn't quite the case. Making felt a little loose, so I gave the helmet a good shot and he well engaged. No more rattling! I am back to enjoy my place of 8.

    I recently noticed that my new xps 15 9550 is really slow. So I downloaded CPU - Z for a deeper look. I found that the CPU multiplier is stuck at 8, regardless of how much I put on the CPU by running the stress as a prime64 stress test.

    Then I tried to SpeedStep disabled in BIOS and the problem remains.

    Now I have to use ThrottleStop 8.00 to force the multiplier to 26 to get get the normal performance. I had ThrottleStop to untick BD PROCHOT in order to force the multiplier. According to the ThrottleStop, BD PROCHOT is synonymous of Bi-Directional hot processor. This allows other elements report the CPU to tell him that the CPU is hot and should accelerate even when it is not. It could be the GPU or the power regulator when it's too hot or starts to put too much power that signals the CPU to Butterfly and to save energy and to cool down the overall temperature of the system.

    Is this a known issue? Y at - it a good solution rather than rely on ThrottleStop?

    For you, I have a workaround.

    You need to shut down the PC, then open the cover from the bottom to the top (unscrew the 10 screws torx t5 and 2 philips ph1 under the XPS plate) and disconnect the battery for 10-15 seconds, then reconnect it back.

    On my laptop it returned the speedstep return.
