  • I had to reinstall Windows XP again and now him "you have become a victim of software piracy" has appeared.

    Hello

I had to reinstall Windows XP again and now him "you have become a victim of software piracy" has appeared. I know for sure my code OEM is legal, because I enabled Windows XP on this machine before several times. So I decided to activate the key using msoobe.exe and via the internet.
Apparently, internet activation is not available (a message code 24579). Of course, I tried the phone activation. Called on the answering machine, type the digits of the ID of the instalation. It don't did me not have any code to write in the fields ABCDEFG. Only that a mistake occurred.  Then I clicked on "Change product key" once asked me to do. Type in the product key. But it was rejected. I answered honestly, machine that I have not any new instalation ID. They said I need to contact the seller, because my key is not genuine... obviously, there is no way that he can help me.
    What should I do now?
    Thank you in advance.
original title: cannot activate the XP by phone

The key used here is a Volume that was never issued by Microsoft - license key was generated by the KeyGen tool a hacker.

If it is key that you tried to activate, so it is no surprise it is rejected.

If however, you have a valid key for Win XP Pro, you can change the it to this one, using the product key update tool, as Carey said. - http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows/help/genuine/product-key

  • I downloaded the 32-bit, Windows 7, Internet, and now when I try to open the file you just downloaded with an MS-DOS screen opens then closes instantly. What should I do?

    Ideas:

    • You have problems with programs
    • Error messages
    • Recent changes to your computer
    • What you have already tried to solve the problem

    Hi Chris.Plucker,

Thank you for using the Microsoft answers Forum

I would like to ask you a few questions to better understand:

    (a) you try to open the file from Internet Explorer?

    (b) if so, have you tried with other browsers?

    (c) from which site did you download Windows 7?

    (d) what is the name of the file you want to download?

To help resolve the error and other messages, you can start Windows 7 by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot". A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

Note When you perform a clean boot, you may temporarily lose some functionality. When you start the computer as usual, the function returns. However, you may receive the error message, or you can experience the original behavior.

Follow the steps below to put your computer in a clean boot state:

Note If the computer is connected to a network, network policy settings may prevent you from following these steps. We recommend strongly that you do not use System Configuration utility to change startup options on the computer, unless a support engineer Microsoft directs you to do so. This can make the computer unusable.

    1. sign the computer by using an account with administrator rights.

    2. click on the Start button, type msconfig.exe in the Start Search box and press ENTER to start the System Configuration utility.

If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type your password or click on continue.

    3. on the general tab, click Selective startup, and then clear the Startup items load check box. (The box use the Boot file is not available.)

    4. on the Services tab, click to select the hide all Microsoft services check box, and then all disable.

Note Following this step lets services Microsoft continue to run. These services include networking, Plug-and-Play, record of events, error reporting, and other services. If you disable these services, you can permanently delete all restore points. Do not do this if you want to use to restore the system with the existing restore points.

    5. click on OK, then restarting.

Check the link to learn more about the clean boot below:

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135

When you are finished troubleshooting, follow these steps to reset the computer to start as usual:

    1. click the Start button, type msconfig.exe in the Start Search box and press ENTER.

If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type your password or click on continue.

2 in the general tab, click the Normal startup option, and then click on OK.

    3. When you are prompted to restart the computer, click restart.

    Waiting to hear from you

    Thanks and greetings

  • You can install Windows Virtual PC and Windows XP with Windows 7 Home Premium Mode?

Windows 7 Home Premium with Windows Virtual PC and Windows XP Mode.

I'm currently under Vista Premium and just-ordered Windows 7 Premium.  I noticed that Microsoft offers only the XP Mode in their professional, Ultimate and Enterprise versions. Once I've upgraded to Windows7 I will be able to download and install Virtual PC and XP mode and make it work in my Premium version manually?  Yes my AMD BIOS supports.  Thank you!

Only, you would have the same problems with 32-bit software in a 64 bit environment where it may or may not work as the others. XP mode is reserved for people who have a software who refuse, for some reason, to upgrade and that run only under Windows XP. But if you consider that Windows XP was introduced in 2001 and it is now 2009 and 1 other OS released and another is about to release... it's time to upgrade. Jonathan Matthis aka "7test" on MSN QnA

  • HP 15-g041AU: downgraded Win8.1 to Win7 and now need help to find the drivers

I didn't like Windows 8.1 and demoted Windows 7 SP1 64-bit, all drives in the formatting process. Now, I don't have some drivers and I don't know which ones to download because there are like 2 identical types of drivers for everything on the page: http://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/hp-15-g000-notebook-pc-series/6545564/model/7234521

In Device Manager there are 6 things with yellow! s

    1. Ethernet controller
    2. Network controller
    3. PCI device
    4. PCI encryption/decryption controller
    5. SM Bus controller
    6. (USB) Universal Serial Bus controller

I don't know if I'm supposed to provide the device ID or hardware ID so tell me please provide any ones.

And also additional things that I think are related to drivers

    • "The current video card can supoprt Aero with a driver that is compatible with the driver model (WDDM) Display Windows. I just do the graphics drivers on the page I put up? And who? Or is not serious?

    • Under components > Modem, there is nothing there
    • Under components > Ports > series, there is nothing there
    • Under components > USB, it says "Standard Enhanced PCI to USB Host Controller" rather than something more speciifc.

I compared these to my laptop which has fairly specific things written under these articles, so I'm assuming that they are to do with the right drivers? I just threw these here in the case where theres more underlying issues.

Also how one I would go about installing these drivers because the USB ports do not work? The pilots put it on a CD?

I'd appreciate any assistance because without them, my laptop is essentially unusable. Thank you very much.

    Hello:

Yes, you can burn the files to a CD and use it to install the drivers you need.

You must install Chipset AMD and 3 USB drivers that are not on the support page for your laptop.

Run this file and then manually install the driver.

    http://h20565.www2.HP.com/hpsc/SWD/public/detail?swItemId=vc_133833_1

To manually install the driver, go to Device Manager and click on the controller E/D PCI who need the driver.

Click on the driver tab, click on set to update driver.  Select her browse my computer for driver software option and find the folder of the driver that was created when you ran the file.

This file will be located in C:\SWSetup\sp66974.   Make sure that the include subfolders is selected and the driver should install.  Then restart.

    Ethernet controller:

    PCI device:

To find the hardware ID, go to the Device Manager and click the labeled device network controller.

Then click on the Details tab in the upper part of the window network controller.

Now, you see a drop-down list of property and it is set by default to the Description of the unit.

On this list and select the second element (Hardware ID).

After the first string of characters you see in the window.

  • You used to be able to scroll through the story of a tab with an arrow on the left of the screen to see all the pages that you have visited on this tab and now it is absent. You cannot select a page that has been perhaps 12 clicks back now.

If I am on a site and click on several links on the page, I want to be able to look at the history of my clicks and return click earlier - as the second or third one instead of hitting the button arrow 12 times. You used to be able to get a history of drop-down list of all clicks on a tab - it has gone now and it is really annoying.

There is an arrow to the left ("back" button). Click and hold down and after a second, you will have a list of the tab history. You can then select the page you want from there.

I used Windows 8 for a few months and was starting to get used to it, until the 8.1 came. Long story short, I have downgraded to Windows 7 Pro and now I miss some drivers that Windows can not find via the troubleshooter.

I have a HP p6-2378 and the drivers that are missing are for:

    SM Bus controller-

-Controller universal Serial Bus (USB) (x 2)

I searched on the site of HP, which said that they do not support Win 7 for my motherboard, and the MSI (which manufactured the mobo) website which did not come with anything.

  • How downgrade from Windows 8 for Windows 7 on a Dell computer?

Original title: dell xps cannot restore

Does anyone know how to restore before windows 8 download. Installation of big mistake and now I cannot uninstall or restore to a point before. I'm not computer ace, can anyone help? Thanks in advance

    Hi Mikey,

Please write us with the following details.

    1. What version of Windows 8 you have installed on your computer?
    2. Why would you downgrade to Windows 7? What problem are you having with Windows 8?

To descend from one operating system to another you are unable to perform a restore of the system as the operating system restore points will not have another operating system. You must install a new copy of Windows. In this case, you have installed Windows 8 on your computer and now you want to downgrade to Windows 7, I suggest you contact your manufacturer regarding this issue.

You can also check out the link below.

I have installation disc n I acquired in a tech store were and how could I get an activation key and how muuch do it costs

    Hello

First thing to do is to make sure that the PC manufacturer supports and office supplies Windows 7 drivers for this PC.

If it is not Windows 7 will not install and work properly for you.

Microsoft sells more than Windows 7.

    Try Amazon.com.

And a word of warning: do NOT buy key product for themselves because they can be stolen or pirated.

Buy the complete sealed package: DVD, product key/license, etc.

    See you soon.
