You're not a parent in parental control

Recently I set up each of my children with a range of Win8 tablet.  I have an administrator account on each device, using my ID Microsoft set up an account for a child on each device connected with my administrator account.  When I visit the Family Safety website and login with my ID Microsoft, I am told that I'm not a parent in parental control.  When I click on account settings > permissions > accounts Kids', I see both of my children listed.

I tried to walk through the instructions recommended "to become a parent in an existing family", but without success.  Any idea what I need to do to become a parent to my children (in a sense MS)?  :)

Hi Mary, you see the message saying that you are not the parent at the signing in https://familysafety.microsoft.com/ is because your family does not exist in the cloud. The instructions I provided above should help to create your family in the cloud. It automatically takes * your * email address and create as a parent in the cloud. Note that your Microsoft e-mail address should be connected/associated with your account on your computer. Follow my instructions above to help create your family in the cloud.

Also, you wrote:
"I am administrator but cannot change my child account from a standard account to a child account because I'm not a"parent"
You need to connect to your computer (not the Family Safety website) using your e-mail address Microsoft that is connected to your admin account computer to change your Standard child accounts to child account type (if they are in fact the Standard user account types). With the type of account of "The child", this will create a family for you in the cloud.
I hope this helps. Please let me know if you need assistance.

    Original title: PARENTAL CONTROL

I implemented a family safety account yesterday and added restrictions when my child could use his PC, but now when I try to MANAGE the PERMISSIONS in the parental controls, he said. YOU ARE NOT A PARENT IN FAMILY SAFETY.   I need this resolved as soon as POSSIBLE and have failed to get support.

    Thanks for your help...

I found this... and I'll try... but that it has been published in 2012, so I'm not sure that it applies even.  I am so disappointed by the level of support that Microsoft offers!

When you rename the ID of the Parent by changing his address, you will need to uninstall and reinstall parental controls to use the new Parent code. By design, parental control allows only the ID of the Parent to be entered to the first broadcast.

To change the ID of the Parent of the family of security for Windows 7, Vista or XP:

    First, uninstall:

    1. Start Control Panel

    2. click on programs

    3. click on uninstall a program

    4. click on Windows Live Essentials 2009 or Windows Live Essentials 2011

    5. click on uninstall/change

    6. click on remove the or more Windows Live programs

    7. place a checkmark next to the parental control

    8. click on uninstall

    Family safety is removed.

    Then reinstall:

To install the new parental controls, go to

    http://get.live.com

Download Essentials and run the installer.

    Family safety will be installed.

Once installed, run parental control and log with the ID of the new Parent.

You may need to add local users under new parent code.

  • Can not remove parental control accounts

I have two older children accounts on that I can not remove from my live account.

I also can not remove me as a parent to my acount to try again.

Attempt to delete these accounts gives an error 16600.

Also, I have two new accounts of child that I created (which have been removed) and must be added.

    Hello

First, we must remove the accounts of 2 children. Please try to add a new account of parent and then by removing child accounts from there.

In addition, the latest version now uses standard user accounts in Windows so adding accounts Microsoft (Windows Live) is impossible. For more information, please refer to this article:

If you can always remove the child on the parent account accounts, please validate your owner of this account. Please send a request for validation here:

After having validated your account holder, please send the number of the ticket where you spent the property validation criteria on the private message that I sent you. This should be included in the email you will receive from the validation team.

Grant permission to the user account that is used by your son to play games.
Also, make sure that you have not set parental control for applications as well.

  • I tried to set the parental control and received this message: because this computer is connected to a domain, Parental controls are not available.

I have the internet Charter.  I am a home user.  I tried to set the parental control and received this message: because this computer is connected to a domain, Parental controls are not available.  Again, I am a home user.  What does that mean?

    Hello

    1. which user account you are using for Parental control (Please note that you cannot apply parental controls on a user admin account? It can be applied to standard user only accounts)?

2 have you made changes on the computer before this problem?

I ask through the following article to find out how to set up Parental controls:

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/products/features/parental-controls

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/set-up-parental-controls

After completing the above links persist issue please fallow the mentioned below of the methods.

Method 1: Disable UAC (User Account Control) and check the result
    See http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/how-do-I-change-the-behavior-of-user-account-control-by-using-the-slider

Note: You must restart your computer when you enable or disable UAC. Change levels of notification does not require that you restart your computer.

Important: Enable UAC after you complete the steps.

Method 2: If the problem persists, try to set the parental control in safe mode and check the result. If you are able to apply settings in safe mode, this means that some program is causing this problem, mainly the security software.
    See http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/start-your-computer-in-safe-mode

Hope the above information is helpful.

  • Parental controls does not-webaccess all refused

I set up parental controls in windows for my administrator accounts. They worked well and were all in custom mode. Recently, yesterday they block all access to any website. I have treid to reset them and still have the same problem. other than the option 'Allow all' - which unrestricts access to the internet, all personalized, low, medium or high options block ALL access, except to specifically sites allowed. So the categories don't work at all - he just block everything.

The block page that says at the top "rating service unavilable"...

  • Siri is disabled by the Parental control on macOS Sierra admin account

I just installed macOS Sierra today on my 13 "Mac Book Pro (early 2011). I have only one user account that is an administrator account. Siri is not enabled on my machine. When I go to the Siri system preferences screen, it says that "Siri is disabled by Parental control. Hmmm, when I check the Parental control screen, it says "you logged in using an administrator account." You can only apply parental controls to accounts that are not administrator accounts. »

    What happens here?

Same problem here. Updated for Sierra of El Capitan on MacBookPro 15 "(mid - 2014).

Even if I toggle the checkbox on the Parental control > others > disable Siri & dictation I can't activate Siri, the checkox is always gray and the alert says "Siri is disabled by Parental control.

Siri is enabled if I login as a burst, but I need it on my Admin account of course. Very annoying.

  • Parental control - limit to some Web sites?

How to configure parental controls so that the user account has access to ONLY certain Web sites?

Also, how one prevent images to display? For example, if you type the word "tobacco" in the browser window and click on "images" then many images of tobacco appear.

You can't block images.  If someone types the word "tobacco" in Google, you cannot prevent Google from showing images of tobacco, because it does not part of the safe search filter that blocks explicit (read: adults) images and links.  Just like you can't keep Google return images of snakes, cakes birthday or Volkswagen beetles.  Activate the safe search filter must be done on the Google site itself, in any case.  Who should keep the sprogs to searching for photos of breasts and other terminology of this naughty (for them), but that's all.

To the extent of allowing access to only certain Web sites, do so you in system--> Parental control preferences.  Click on the padlock in the lower corner on the left and enter your administrator password.  On the left side of the pane, select the account that you want to apply Parental controls for.  In the top of the pane, you should see a list of tabs.  One of them is "Web".  Click on it.  There are three levels of browser restriction.  If you want to customize the list of websites, this account users are able to access, click on the Customize button.

A dialog box will be displayed.

In the upper pane, type Web sites you want to only be accessible and in the lower pane, enter the Web site you never want to be accessible.  When you are finished, press OK.  If you need more for the other tabs at the top of the pane, click the padlock in the lower left corner again to lock in your preferences.

  • Parental Controls error: "unable to make changes to parental controls settings.

I recently added a second user on my computer so that my friends and family can use it even if I'm not around. Only one problem though. I tried to put parental controls for literally giving them access to about five programs and nothing else. I know HOW to put in place, but whenever I finished the settings, an error comes up saying

"Impossible to make changes to parental controls settings. If the problem persists, see your system administrator. »

Of course, since it's my computer, I am the system administrator. It says my user profile. Everything works very well in my own profile and it is the first issue I've had with Windows Vista, I could not understand either by myself or the box of Windows Vista Help could respond. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thank you, Vanessa

    Hi evilkittenofdoom

Lets try the following.  Even if your account is an administrator, can allow to built in Administrator account and see if we get the error you mentioned before.

activate the account real built-in Administrator, then log into that account and see if you can set up parental controls.

1.) open start, type cmd in the search box

2.) look to the top of the left panel you'll see cmd.exe , right click

3.) click on RUN AS ADMINISTRATOR, click on continue if prompted

(4.) a black & white screen appears, type the following:

NET user administrator / Active: Yes

5.) press the ENTER key on your keyboard. The b/w screen indicate whether the command is successful. If Yes, close the n/b command prompt. Otherwise please try again and careful with typo/spacing.

6.) log-off. The display will show 3 accounts. Acct 'true administrator', yours and your 2nd account set for friends/family

7.) to connect to the account "administrator." The system should start the implementation of the Bureau for the account. After that, try to do what you wanted to do with the 2nd account (the parental control settings).

    WARNING
: a) If you decide to keep this account (Administrator account), be sure to create a password for it.
    (b) If you decide to get rid of it, repeat operations EXCEPT in step 4.) type net user administrator / active: No.

Please let us know if it helped to solve the problem - thank you
