  I plan to replace my current server syslog (Kiwi syslog) with Log Insight.

  I would like to hear an honest opinion on how adequate Log Insight is a replacement of syslog.

  I am currently collecting events from a multitude of network devices (Cisco, Fortinet, etc.) a number of Windows servers, Out-Of-Band (HP ILO, Dell IDRAC) management and a small number of Linux virtual machines.

Just trying to make sure that I understand the comments because the words/phrases as "custom queries" and "correlation" means different things to different people technically both are possible in LI, of course it depends on the specific use case, but what are the characteristics that you are aware of / tried. For example, LI normalizes the timestamps already (and has since version 1.0) for different formats between VMware logs and Java applications have no importance. See for example this post: time to the Insight Journal: events, timestamps + queries - SFlanders.net. In addition, LI has improved over time and now natively supports a parser of timestamp on the client through the agent LI: newspaper Insight 3.0 Agents: Timestamp Parser - SFlanders.net.   I just want to post my opinion on how disappointed I am with HP services to download drivers, and I really hope that it will go to the right ear.

  1.) manually from the Web site:

  -We ask you for your product AND serial keys, and yet you are offered drivers for the entire series, so you have to guess what wifi card you have, what GPU etc. Manuals also containing all possible combinations, so even once, guess or use certain Tools of information 3rd party hardware.

  Update of 2.) Windows:

  -half of them and/or he is happy with a default won't find Windows drivers

  3.), HP Support Assistant:

  (1) did you do changes on the computer before this problem?
  (2) is the issue limited only with the specific folder?
   
  I suggest you to follow the steps and check if the problem persists.
  (a) open Windows Explorer .
  (b) with the right button on image library , and select Remove.
  (c) click Yes to confirm.
  (d) then right click on libraries in the navigation pane.
  (e) select restore default libraries.
  
  Note: Deleting of a library does not delete the contents of the included folders. However, you need to add or include your folders manually, if necessary.

  I would like to have your quick opinion on the design below options.

  It is a VDI environment. 4 ESX servers. 16 cores, 64 GB of RAM each. 8 network interface cards. 500 virtual machines

  Option 1:

  2 vSwitches.  (one for COS and VMotion, the other for VMS)

  COS / VMotion switch has 2 NIC cluster. VM switch has 6 cards. Also a partner.

  Option 2:

  3 vSwitches (one for the COS, one for the VMotion, one for virtual machines)

  COS switch has 2 network cards. VMotion has 2 network cards. Virtual machines have 4 network cards.

  Which do you think is a better design for given the density of the MV? Please give me your opinion on what option and why.

  With 6 natachasery for the best security/redundancy, I'd do the following:

  2 for SC

  2 for VMotion

  2-4 for virtual machines

  If you can come out of the SC/VMotion amalgam you should. Also, what is your physical network as the SC use the same pSwitch as virtual machines? If so you may want to reconsider this option. I would have at least 4 physical switches... 2 for SC/VMotion and 2 for virtual machines. Really, it defeats the purpose of security if you have virtual machines and SC/VMotion involved on your pSwitches. I trust the vSwitch more that I wouldn't trust the pSwitch. In addition, a pSwitch can only transfer data so much.  When you watch the virtual network security, that we must also look to the safety of the physical network.

  I know people will say "We use VLAN" and if you trust that your pSwitches never fail you, never undergo a layer 2 address then go ahead, but what are the risks and the framework of your risk assessment. Some people can live with those risks. Others cannot.

  As for virtual machines... 4 natachasery should be a lot of bandwidth. 2 would also be sufficient I think. Given if you have a lot of Teddy SC and VMotion segregation on different vSwitches.

• How to import layouts with vectors and direct type?

  I seem to have met a stumper on basic AE workflow. I would like to implement a workflow where I can set an application designs, then put in AE to animate and control the camera around. My intention is to make graphics like this: http://vimeo.com/25123730 (OK, well, not nearly as slick... yet)
  
  The difficulty is, if I throw my drawing in Photoshop after I import it, it will allow me to convert the direct type, but the vector shapes are pixelated all and I can't get them as vectors. If I throw in Illustrator, the shapes are net of all vectors, but my type is rasterized. I think that there is something that I have to Miss here.

  What is the solution?
  

  Missing you something, it's just like that. There is always hope for CS6 and beyond, but for now the only type of "vector", you will get Photoshop of text and the layer, which will be converted to AE masks, clipping masks if the PSD is imported as a composition. However, if you want to get an honest opinion: people obsess too much about this vector stuff. Many times it is not necessary to make it work still a raster image enough size and that's what I see looking at your example. The camera movements are not this extreme that they need excessive detail.

  Recently, I spotted when I Hibernate my computer and turn it on after a while (doesn't matter if couple seconds or a few hours), fans of start working like crazy. I made some screenshots. First screenshot shows RPM couple seconds after ignition of hibernate, second screenshot - as 40sec - 1 min after.  After 3-4 minutes, Fans are running normally - as shown on the screenshot 3 (still too noisy and too fast in my honest opinion). Anyone know how I can fix this problem?

  One thing must be clear for you: you don't have to do anything. TEMPRO is a tool designed to help and inform the user whacked the new updates. You can follow the advice and install the latest version, but you can also ignore it.

  Your second opinion is right: you can choose what should be downloaded and download more precedent. It's your decision.
  To be honest, I deleted this system tool. All pre-installed drivers, tools and utilities works very well and I see no reason why change anything.

• Equium P200D - reduce the brightness of the indicators before LED

  I have a laptop Toshiba Equium P200D-139, model number PSPBNE-004003KS model name.

  The façade has four LED indicator, color blue and visible on the screen open or closed. They are for the input DC power, battery, and HARD drive.

  Led lights are extremely bright. In fact, they are so bright that they are a source of severe distraction, especially in a dark room. I'd say it's clearly a design flaw.   As a first step, I would like to say that I have the same model of laptop Satellite P200D-111. To be honest, I don't understand why write you about the problems. For me you just wrote on your personal opinion. It is logical that each of us has different opinions and I can understand you. But why all this set as a kind of design flaw.   Back to your question: all you can do is disable the SATELLITE led (BIOS settings > advanced > last option) but all the other LEDs placed in the Middle cannot be disabled and the LED intensity can be reduced. You can use tape and cover these LEDs.

  What about keyboard: I really don't have what you would expect. The keyboard is really stable and the buttons feel good. I use it for work and have really no problem at all.
  In the end, you need to know for this money, you have very good laptop. If you need better quality, why you didn t buy laptop for £1000. As you know all laptop manufacturers have models of different laptops. It's your choice.

  More money, better quality. But I still think that this Satellite P200D money is really good for laptop. Do you know that only Satellite/Equium P200 has 6 USB ports? Not bad! What do you think?

  Before I try to give you some info on the upgrade, I want to just comment on your ad. Satellite L20 is actually a unit of budget and doesn t expensive. Now, you want to invest enough money in the hardware upgrade. It's not really illogical. Why you didn t get more information and bought the best unit as Satellite M40 or same M70. For a 300 or 400 dollars more, you can have a superior unit.

  Sorry, but the best idea is to sell your one and buy another unit. This is my honest opinion on this subject.

  Now something about your questions: essentially upgrading the CPU is not possible due to the permanent connection method. The processors used in laptops are connected to the motherboard using a process called TCP (tape carrier package).

  RAM upgrade is possible and meaningful. Your device has 512 MB of Ram in one slot and unit can handle with 2 GB max.

• I have about 14 000 songs in my library, about 4 copies of each of them. Try to remove duplicates, but can only do one at a time. I spent many hours, check all the files I want to delete only to find out that I can't delete them both?

  I have about 14 000 songs in my iTunes library, but really there are only about a quarter as much because there are so many duplicates. I don't know how they got there in the first place, and try to remove them is infuriating! I have already spent several hours going by checking all the files I want to remove (thinking that I would delete then all files at once) - only to find out that I still have to delete them one at a time. There must be a better way! Help, please.

  If you don't know that you want to delete all checked the songs in your library:

  • Create a new smart playlist with the following rules:
    
    This will show then checked all the songs in your library.
  • Select all the items in this playlist (Ctrl-A)
  • Hold the SHIFT key and press DELETE - follow the prompts to remove songs from your library and (if necessary) your PC media files

  In case of problem, you must back up your library before you do just in case the results are not what you expect - see tips to the user of turingtest2 on your iTunes for Windows with SyncToy to backup library for a suitable and recommended method.

  There is no 'simple' way to reliably remove duplicates from a library, but see the intelligence in this threadon the use of a scripted for removal of duplicates (for example).
