Z210 Convertible Minitowers: Z210: a USB 3.0 card 4 ports compatible?

I have an Z210 convertible minitour, who currently holds the HP 2 port USB3 SuperSpeed card that is based on the older NEC chipset. It sits in the Slot 3, a PCIe2x1 slot.

I know that the NEC chipset is pretty old now. But the real problem is that I need a few USB3 ports. I saw a thread here that has considered this question, but does not really all specific maps, and it was related to the Z400, another machine.

I have had a look and it seems that many tech enterprise vendors offer a card, the CP-4PTU USB 3.0 4-Port PCI Express Card (PG0480) anyone know if it will work in the Z210? Other possible cards?

TIA!

Map of NEC had two exits USB3.  HP went with a 4 ports TI chipset based '2 + 2' PCIe card for Z400/Z600/Z800 workstations.  The 2 + 2 means two aft and two if you want to forward.  Z620/Z820 integrated this same TI chip on the motherboard.  Thus, drivers for chips Z620 TI of these workstations work very well for the card on motherboard both chipsets on PCIe.

I use these TI cards based on my workstation xw6400 and xw6600... they work very well, and I plug them into the second port of PCIe x 16 spare for the max bandwidth of PCIe type II location in the xw6600.  The xw6400 has no connectors all PCIe gen II, however.

The rear bottom of basket of the map has two ports for two accessories USB 3.0, and there is an addition of port Unified on the map (front) which you can plug a double cable end adding two more USB 3.0 ports (front).  I love the face cards Akasa... high quality and more than enough before long.  They have one that fits great in the floppy bay area and also one for the wider Bay optical since many work stations now do not have a floppy bay site.

These cards must be powered with a good 5V power from a SATA power supply or a power Molex adapter... do not load software until you give it only + 5V power because some parts will be not visible by the installation program until they are turned on with adequate power.  + 5VDC is not upward on the map of the PCIe slot... only of the power cable.  I'm actually using an adapter less amperage from the floppy power plugs in my xw workstations, but for higher use AGP, I would recommend the spare Molex or SATA Adapter approach.  You can find these like a map without adapter via eBay sometimes... the complete kit of HP is about 50,00.  Search with google for QT587AA for the complete kit of HP.

What you don't want to... version 2 ports of NEC.  It is the + 5V power supply to the back of the map that you see here, and only two USB 3.0 ports are possible.  This is in contrast to the version of TI chipset below this image of the NEC version:

The TI version is below... There the power plug at the top and the front port double its rear end, below these two capacitors:

You will see that the front bay Akasa kits include a single outlet that feeds on the back of the card via two cables on two USB3 ports.  Eventually you throw this little adapter that see you at the bottom of the picture near the Middle, generally.

Here is the HP part number, you can use to search on eBay... you'll usually only find the card on eBay, not kit.  HP power supply cable can be very useful to have, and I've seen those if you buy the kit from HP directly.  Otherwise, you will have to dink with other adapters.  The latest drivers are easier to find on the site of HP Z620 drivers.  Part of HP for the card number is only 661320-001.

  • HP dc7800 Convertible Minitowers does not restart

I recently bought a used HP dc7800 Convertible Minitowers. It works fine, but there is a question I leave me puzzled: whenever I restart the computer through Windows, it will not start correctly. Sometimes it shows the HP splash screen and goes just a black screen, and sometimes it shows the HP splash screen and restarts repeatedly. What is more strange is that shut down the computer and put on still work manually, and the computer will boot normally.

    System information:

OS: Microsoft Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit SP1

CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E6550 2.33 GHz

    RAM: 6.00 GB Dual - Channel DDR2 @ 398 MHz (6-6-6-18)

    Motherboard: Hewlett-Packard 0AACh (XU1 PROCESSOR)

HARD drive: 149GB Western Digital WDC WD1600AAJS-60B4A0 ATA Device (SATA)

I agree Rick, that may be the problem.

I don't see any BIOS date of issue (look under Vista) have nothing to do with Bitlocker or or boot up/reboot issues.

I don't have the latest BIOS installed 1.32 at the time.

I bought the PC used on eBay and the seller had put W7 Ultimate 32 bit on it without loading the drivers, etc. and just shipped.  Nor have I received any key disk or installation products.

I got such a lot of things on it and I didn't care what OS he had.

I wasn't going to let on in any case, because my plans were max out of the memory of 8 GB and install my copy of W7 Pro x 64.

In any case, I just tried but updated the BIOS to get W7 Ultimate to work normally (just to see if I could help all the other people who were stop and start loop question).

Everything I tried was unsuccessful.  And the thing is, some people dc7700/dc7800 ran very well with W7 Ultimate.

It was just a handful of us who could never make it work right.

My suggestion you Cinos, must abandon all hope to get to work and install W7 Pro or home (if you do not need to connect to a domain).

No one I know has reported to solve this issue.

  • HP Compaq dc7800 Convertible Minitowers

    Hello

New to the forum please bare with me I have a

HP Compaq dc7800 Convertible Minitowers (CZC7413306) and want to update the graphics card without much expense I have short listed two cards. NVIDIA GT 630 and the GT640 Nvidia.

One of these can receive free updates on the PC, IE PSUS?

There 4gig of RAM onboard and at present a 7600gs Nvidia who struggles with FSX and can't not watch run them more than I I'd like to run two monitors.

    Thanks for any answers

    Concerning

    Stewart

Thanks for the graphics card. It seems that they should work, but I still think there may be a problem with the amouint of the power supplied to the card in the slot of the ISDR - x 16.

It would still be useful to measure the power supply to see if an upgrade PSU will fit. An upgrade to a 450W Corsair or OCZ PSU will be not much ofexpense. When you consider what you have in the PC at this time is minimal, that would make it useful. In any case, these are my thoughts on this subject.   , Of course, it's your choice.

  • DC 7700 Convertible Minitowers (CPU Upgrade)

    I have HP DC7700 Convertible Minitowers with CPU Intel (r) Pentium (r) D CPU 3 .00GHz.

I want to change my processor to another, what is (maximum) CPU Options for my motherboard?

    Hello:

For a free update problem, the max you can install is Conroe E6700 2.66 GHz processor.

If you install the latest update of the BIOS, you may be able to install the E7200 E7300 or E7400 processor, but I can't say for sure.  The so-called BIOS update adds support for the E7xxx processors.

The E7600 will install, but the FSB will not run at 533 MHz instead of the 1066 MHz, to what it is supposed to work.

Thus, I would not waste my time with that one.  The E7200 E7300 and E7400 may have the same problem, but I don't know.

HP has been informed by some members of the forum on the issue with the update of the BIOS and the FSB of 50% speed, but they have not done anything, and I doubt that they will ever be.

If it was me, I stick with the E6700 Conroe and enjoy a free issue, no upgrade hassles.

Info official processor upgrade is on the link below, page 9.

  • HP Compaq dc7700p: how to fix '1801 Microcode Update error' HP Compaq dc7700p Convertible Minitowers

    Hello

I read and read this post for a few times and I'm not sure it will work on my PC so I have to ask, how to solve '1801 Microcode Update error' in HP Compaq dc7700p Convertible Minitowers I upgraded it with E7200 instead of the original E6300

Here is the product number: p/n RN120ET #UUZ

I am in a position to start and start windows, I don't know is that it works normally or not, I'm just bored with the startup message:

Please HELP and thank you in advance!

    Hello:

You must upgrade the BIOS to version to get rid of the error of microcode, and processor at half the speed of the FSB only works because the update of the BIOS was not written for the E7xxx processors work correctly.

You will need to run this software whenever you enter windows and change the multiplier up.

Or you can run this batch file listed on the bottom of Web page so that it runs automatically.

    http://CrystalMark.info/software/CrystalCPUID/index-e.html

If I were you, I just install an E6700 Conroe and have an update without problem.

You will need to use the BACK base flash because I don't think that there is an update of the BIOS written for W7.

So, now I was hoping someone can help me find (finally) and install peripheral audio, so I can finish with the installation process. I will be grateful for this veeeeeerrrry thanks in advance.

Apple pencil comes with its own map of woman to woman, so you can use a standard lightning cable USb and charger to charge

Not sure there is no 3rd party yet.

  • HP Pavilion HPE h8-1150z CTO D: which USB-3 PCI Card

I would like to upgrade computer (add) USB-3 to my existing. Which USB-3 PCI card (make and model) would be compatible with my computer?   Is there anything that should be avoided?   The card may only be installed or is there some other changes/upgrades necessary to make it work correctly?

    #HPExpertDay

Yes, you can add USB 3.0, but it would work in 2.0 as the motherboard must be able to do.

So you would need a powered USB hub.

    Hello

Believe me; I see this error message for the first time.
This certainly isn't a simple error due to software problem, but I think there might be something wrong with the hardware.

But before you contact the ASP in your country, you should check this:

If you are not able to boot in windows, so why you n t try to reinstall the operating system?
Try to boot from the Toshiba Recovery CD and check if it of possible to reinstall Windows.
In addition I recommend access to the BIOS and try to pass the default BIOS settings.

  • PDA, USB (Solar Express Card CF) host

Not sure of the interest.  But I tried the new Solar Express Compact Flash USB host card (currently in an IPAQ 210 PDA running WinMobile 6).

It worked like a charm with LabView PDA DAQbase code example and NI USB-6009 case.

I really bought this for use in an accommodation not USB - PDA and will try in an Axim X50v.

For the record the IPAQ 210 has a built-in feature, USB Host but initially good cables were not available, these are now available and the USB-6009 case work with them.  Unfortunately, I could only to work if the route cables through a USB-mini first hub.  This is not necessary with the card see

In the CF and the native IPAQ USB accommodation, no additional power supply is required to run the 6009, although I still have to check the battery consumption.  The solar Express card comes with a cable USB Y-joint, which allows the additional power supply accessory on USB.  The card CF itself, I think, is limited to 200 my draw.

See below links for the solar Express product.

I think it works well for the price of $85.  And seems to work with many older PDA, which is good for the fans and those who, like me, with the 'old' unused who hang out.
