• iMac screen flashes black in Photoshop CC

  I am posting this as well in CC Adobe and Apple forums as I do not know where the problem lies, but I would really appreciate this problem:

  I use Adobe apps on an iMac CC brand new (still in time to get the full refund). If you use Photoshop CC (2015.5) the entire screen (not only the Photoshop window) goes black for about half a second when any icon tool exceeding a certain size of pixel passes of the tool to the pointer icon icon or vice versa.

  This happens for example when the icon of the fate of the area of the image on the menus or the dashboard or window, or when it comes in and out of the right click menu change brush size. Any situation when running the tool pointer or pointer tool. It does not always happen, but it happens most of the time, maybe the type of pointer movement has something to do with it, well it happens with fast or slow transitions.

  I just downloaded and tried the oldest version of Photoshop - CS6 - available through my driver's license and the problem is exactly the same, this is not limited to a particular version of the CC in Photoshop.

  Is the empty screen, because just the screen is broken, or is the iPad just dead? Have you tried a soft-reset/reboot it?

  At least you can see what you touch on the screen of the iPad, you cannot force a backup to iCloud.

  If the iPad still works and is connected to wifi, a backup should automatically happen (if iCloud backups are enabled) if it is connected and the locked screen.

  And the macbook worked fine with the TV. TV display showed MBP display very well.

  This led me to believe that there is just something wrong with my screen LED on the MBP.

  So I opened the back cover of the MBP and looked inside.

  I saw the cable that connects the screen LED MBP to motherboard and disconnected it and then reinstall it.

  I then closed the MBP and restarted.

  IS!... LED MBP display worked again. If the problem was simply that the cable of the LED screen did not have a good connection. So, just to be disconnected and reconnected to make good contact.

  This maybe off topic but it's worth a try. It may be your screen LED cable which does not have a good contact.

  From your description, it seems that your MacBook Pro is powered, as soon as you hear the startup chime and see the light on the keyboard.  Thus, it seems that the problem may be with your screen or the video card.

  On the screens you see when you start your Mac

  Power on

  

  When you turn on your Mac, display is off (black) and you hear a startup chime. Your Mac Initializes his BootROM and memory (RAM live). It then performs a power - on that self test (POST) and a test of BootROM. If you hear beeps or chimes at this stage, this indicates a possible hardware problem and start stops. If you add memory to your Mac, check that it is installed correctly.

  White screen

  

  After that only walking self-test is completed, your Mac sends a video signal to your connected screens. The screen may appear black or grey at this point in the boot sequence and backlight of the screen should light up. If you do not see the image appears on your screen after a few moments, try increasing the brightness of your screen. If you use an external monitor, make sure it is properly connected and turned on.

  shaynidw, if set up the brightness of your screen does not help, you have an external display (computer screen or TV) that you can attach to your MacBook Pro to test?

  My iMac (retina 5K, 27 inches, end of 2014) 3.5 GHz Intel Core i5 did twice the same. The left half of the screen is black. All the right side works to the login screen.

  Someone at - it ideas? The last time this happened my hard drive has failed.

  I called AppleCare, they said I should have donee that reset a SMC and rest of the STROLLER instead of restarting it. (I'm not convinced that the man knew what he was saying because the screen was frozen at the connection). He said I should wipe my hard drive and reinstall the OS. Then if it happens again, I could call for help.

  The computer has been running a backup time machine during this period. I heard him running. The last time this happened my hard drive has failed.

  Have you tried all troubleshooting such as resetting the PRAM or the performance of the Diagnostics of Apple? If this isn't the case, that is where I would start. If you get anywhere with either of the people, then you probably have a hardware problem that leads to a repair. If you bought AppleCare and the computer is still covered, then call them.

• iPad 2 - iBook screen goes black

  I have an iPad 2 and use it a lot for reading books on iBook. iBook started to shut down the first time I open the app, but opens on the second try. Time to time (at least once per session), the screen turns black with white writing or not written at all.   My screen became suddenly black on a website. I turned the iPad back and got a screen that said I had to turn my iPad followed a request to enter my Apple ID and password. I don't know why the screen went black suddenly, or if it's Apple who request my username and password. Why should I activate my iPad again. This is for real or a scam?   Hmm...

  Apple wouldn't ever to someones iPad so do not put in the apple id info.

  I recommend that force you shut off of your iPad. (Hold down the home and power buttons)

• Firefox screen is black.

  When I open Firefox, the toolbar appears, but the screen is black.

  I restarted Firefox and my computer. I uninstalled and then reinstalled. I ran Malwarebytes and AVG, but they does not detect it.

  Although I don't see anything, I could copy and paste the crash report. See below.

  The reason for your problem is that iMovie version 9 is not compatible with El Capitan.  El Capitan only works with iMovie 10 (with the purple icon).

  iMovie 10 is very different from previous versions and has lost some features but won others.  The negative publicity is mainly about frustration with the changes to the user interface, help the poorest to burn DVDs, corrected aspect ratio 16:9 and the fall of some older cameras support.  Your camera model is shown as it is supported.  (I preferred iMovie 10 and went in 2013).

  When you run the first iMovie 10 it will offer you to update all of your iMovie projects 9 existing.  It will create a new iMovie 10 library but let your iMovie 9 project files and unchanged events so that they could, for example, be copied to a mac running Yosemite and be used in iMovie 9.

• IPhone 6 dropped, the screen goes black, but returns to normal

  I dropped my iphone 6, initially, the screen was black, but everyting worked perfectly I could even take pictures. I put on charger and tapped on the back of the iphone and the screen comes alive and everything was normal, nothing strange occurred during use, but after blocking and leaving intact, the black screen again to open. I had to put it in the charger and the tap at the back as before. Now I can't leave my iphone intact or the screen will become black again. I need help please! Is there a solution for this or would I need to take it to a shop to fix it?

  Hardware problems should be diagnosed at the Apple Store, or an authorized service provider.

  My iPhone 6 screen goes black randomly (usually during sleep) and when it happens, the fact response to touch or no sound.   Sounds like a problem of software for me, especially because it forces is a troubleshooting step software, and you say that solved the problem (of least temporarily).

  However, I still think that the Genius Bar would be a good idea. They have access to diagnoses that are not accessible by the user, who can easily identify which applications or processes are causing the problem. I think that they can also do this by phone, but I rarely call support so I am not sure.
