Z400 workstation: Workstation Z400 has quick start?

I read online about some BIOS offer everything including a quick start instead of test during the boot upward. The Z400 offers such a thing as which would speed up boot time a lot.

Hello

Some computers have a feature POST bypass, but I wouldn't recommend using it.  You can find it in the BIOS if it is available for your PC.

After a death off voltage then launch Manager tasks and look under the start for the last time in BIOS tab. More sophisticated motherboard is more time in BIOS.  Technology memory channel triple and quadruple take longer to initialize.  Using RAID will also slow down the BIOS time.

None of these products you mention are actually of VMware Workstation for Windows.  You can also use the free VMware Player.  What you downloaded is a virtual disk file, not a virtual machine complete... but you can easily create a virtual machine and direct him to use the virtual disk file you downloaded, rather than create a new empty virtual disk (by default).  You will want to use the custom mode when you create a new virtual machine, not the wizard!

  • How to make sure the OS has been started after Start-VM

    Reviews - Windows OS

I'm following the tasks in a script.

    1. VM stop

    2 return instant

    3. start the virtual machine

Command start VM, I perform certain operations continuous BONE. But orders start VM stops when start the guest operating system has started. How can I determine that Windows operating system has been started successfully and I can start the operation. Are there any available specific CMDlet to check the same thing?

Of course, the following script does something like that

    $vmName =
    $esxCred = Get-Credential -Credential "ESX-account"
    $vmCred = Get-Credential -Credential "guest-account"
    $myScript = @"
    net start
    "@

    $vm = Get-VM $vmName
    $vm | Start-VM -Confirm:$false | Out-Null
    # Wait till the VM is powered on
    while((Get-VM $vmName).PowerState -ne "PoweredOn"){sleep 5}
    # Wait till service is running
    $msg = $vm | Invoke-VMScript -HostCredential $esxCred -GuestCredential $vmCred -ScriptType "bat" `
                   -ScriptText $myScript -ErrorAction SilentlyContinue

The variable $msg will contain all the services running on the client.

You can check if the specific service you want to run is listed otherwise you browse these last lines, until the service is here.

    Something like that

    ....
    do{
       $msg = $vm | Invoke-VMScript -HostCredential $esxCred -GuestCredential $vmCred -ScriptType "bat" `
                   -ScriptText $myScript -ErrorAction SilentlyContinue
       sleep 5
    } until($msg.Split("`n") | where{$_ -like "*Workstation*"})

The condition "until the" translates $null as long as the text "Workstation" is not present.

    Thank you.

    Hello

Quick start can be enabled and disabled too using the Toshiba software called Desktop Help. Within this tool, you would find the HWSetup Toshiba and this part of software must contain the quick start option.

    Check it out.

By the way: for some series laptop, press INS key then F2 worked too.

  • HP Quick Start, where to download?

Hi, my HP Quick Start has been corrupted somehow. I want to reinstall it, but the installation file does not seem to exist on my computer. Of course, I don't want to make a recovery of the entire PC, so I would just download the installation for HP Quick Start files. Is this possible?

OK, that's too bad, I liked HP Quick Start. But ok, I'll try the classic interface.

  • Reference Dell place 11 Pro 7130, how to activate the quick start Intel?

    Hello.

I found that the system supports the Intel Quick start feature. The setting is enabled in the BIOS. On the support page of drive you, I downloaded the driver.

First of all, it can be installed as a separate partition must be prepared for it. MADE with manual quick start by Intel. (By deleting the recovery partition, creation of the fast boot partition).

The driver has been installed and says in the system Tray 'active '. But it does not work. (After waiting on sleep hours, the battery is empty, but should be turned off to the quick start intel). BIOS is Version A6. Any clue?

According to another thread (answered by DELL), the function is NOT available on the same public participants11 it is listed in the BIOS.

Thank you DELL to hear me cry...

  • How to "Reinstall" quick start?

I replaced the HD with an SSD in my x 230 and instead of a full disk image, I was lazy and only restored the partition system (C). Well, I also wanted to see if the Migration of OS Paragon tool worked and he had only the option to select a source partition. I want to get a quick start put in place, but I'm not finding a lot of information related to the Lenovo laptops. The quick start option is enabled in the BIOS and Power Manager 6 still has the option to watch 30 days allowed and checked, but there is certainly no hibernation partition. It seems that all I have to do is cut a hibernation partition and assign the correct ID but it seems too easy. However, I can try to make it more difficult than it is.

In view of the above, after I created a special hibernation partition is there anything else I should do to activate the quick start? THX.

It's as simple as that! I created the partition and tested according to the instructions on the link below. Thanks to someotherguy for the info (personal Lenovo).

  • Quick start with the hibernation problems

My HP Mini 5103 has been upgraded to Win7 Home Premium to Windows 8 Pro

Hibernate worked very well under Win7HP

Now, with the fast start enabled, hibernate doesn't work anymore.  Instead, the screen goes to the lock screen.  Finally, the screen goes black but the PC is still on (the fan is running, keyboard lights, occasional hard disk activity).  Touch any key immediately goes to the logon screen.

I can't even shut down the PC in this configuration.  The screen displays 'Shutting Down' for a few seconds, then switches again to the lock screen (in the same way as if hibernate was requested above).

Once the quick start is disabled, Shut Down works as before, but one of the big advantages of Windows 8 is supposed to be the quick start, it is a big disappointment.

The problem seems to be with the Hibernate, function because quick start use hiberfil.sys, and for some reason, the PC is so more able to access hiberfil.sys in the process of closing.

Is this a bug?  Or is it possible to fix it?

I checked using "powercfg / has" from the command prompt and the Hibernate implementation is listed as available, so is quick start as well as hybrid sleep and standby (S3).  The hiberfil.sys file is correctly located in C:\

    Sleep works correctly.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

    Some additional info:

Looking at the event viewer immdeiately after trying Hibernate (and failing) reveals that an event ID 45 was met by the volmgr, with the detailed diagnostic report:

"The system could not sucessfully load the crash dump driver."

I then checked the key of registry HKLM/System/CurrentControlSet/Control/Crashconrol/DumpFilters who listed OK so presumably SbHiber.sys and dumpfve.sys, both apparently of Microspft.

That's exactly what happened to me and a colleague. However, I think that you're wrong about SbHiber.sys - at least in my case (and my colleague) SbHiber.sys was McAfee that has been uninstalled when you use Windows 7, but the uninstall program did not remove the reference. As a result, SbHiber.sys could not load, causing the VolMgr event on starup.

We have removed the reference SbHiber.sys of the key of registry HKLM/System/CurrentControlSet/Control/Crashconrol/DumpFilters (simply delete 'sbhiber.sys' and leave the other text in the value of the key) and re-activated hibernation and quick start, our problem with the two missing.

I hope this helps someone else, ' cos it drove me crazy. I hated having not standby extended!

  • Intel Quick start turns off - X carbon 1

Have clean installed Win7 Ultimate on a carbon X 1. Appear to have installed all necessary drivers.

Everything worked without problems so far, with the exception of Intel Quick Start (TSRI) technology. In fact, the FIRST works, technically. However, it just turns off automatically whenever the machine has awakened from his sleep hybrid or rebooted, and I have to re - light the TSRI manually using the Manager of TSRI.

Would appreciate ideas as to why this is happening.

    Thank you

    Hi, x1carbonuser

There may be a BIOS setting that needs to be modified to work fully. I did some research and found the Intel Rapid Start Technology User Guide (found here). It shows a variety of settings and features and walks through how to use and configure them and may be able to help with your problem.

    Good luck
