Z61t - no 64 bit?

It's time to start doing my compatible 64-bit application.  Not much - I'll just install vista 64 on my z61t.  I mean, it is a dual core and all then it should be 64-bit.  Right?  Right?

Does not resemble it at microsoft, in any case.  But maybe I'm not doing something good.

Type of machine is 9442-89u.  Setup of Vista 64 says:

Status 0xc000035a

This processor is not compatible with the 64-bit mode.

Welcome to the forum!

Your processor isn't a Core Duo, Core 2 Duo, which is required for 64-bit operating systems.

You can switch to a C2D processor, this is a fairly easy procedure.

I hope this helps.

  • Z61t upgrades to allow windows 7 64 bit?

    I have a z61t - 9441 CTO

I didn't think far enough (UM, I was at little cost) when I bought, so it was only a Core Duo (T2400) right now. I'd love to upgrade to Windows 7, but it seems that I can only run the 32-bit version with this CPU. Because I like to keep this laptop for a while, I am considering the upgrade, and I have a few questions:

    1. based on this page (http://www.thinkwiki.org/wiki/Intel_Core_2_Duo_%28Merom%29 ) I think I can adapt Core 2 Duo Merom in the laptop... Anyone know if all Meroms listed as compatible with the z61t are the same socket (Socket M) - or if this model had different motherboards available for different processors? I.e. a C2D Merom will fit?

2 can. a person I would be able to run Windows 7 64 - bit, if I upgraded the CPU to a Core 2 Duo? Y at - it something else in the laptop that is not compatible with 64 bit Win7?

You can use the T7xxx or the T5xxx Merom CPUS, only the socket M version will work.

The T5xxx and T7xxx CPU supports 64-bit and Virualisation VT technology), which allows you to use the XP emulation mode in some versions of Win 7.

Core Duo supports VT but not 64-bit.

  • clean install of Windows 7 64 bit

    Hello

    I have a 9440CTO Z61t, T5500 CPU, 3 GB of RAM.

I would like to replace my 60 GB SSD HARD drive and do a fresh install of Win7 64 bit DVD. Is this feasible? Is supported BIOS v3.03 Win 7 64 bit?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I was able to install W7 on Kingston ssdnow SSD V300.

I found on the Lenovo forum that someone did a similar facility on its X 60 machine. Turns out that my Z61t uses the same Bridge South chip that is Intel ICH7-M.

George, thank you very much for your comments.

    Best regards

  • Sorry, but I'm confused! Z61T card slot

Could someone please tell me what the card slot is for certain, above two USB ports on the left side of the machine?

I try to add an ExpressCard 34mm (firewire 1394b (800) with a stabilizer of 34mm - 54 mm) and do not know if the card is faulty or I have the wrong card or place. No sign of what appears in the Device Manager and "new hardware not listed do not when it is attached.

I told you, I was confused.

    Help, please!

In the details on the Lenovo site, it refers to: -.

    PC card

    • Conforms to the Standard 95 PC card
    • Type II interface
    • Both card 32-bit CardBus card 16 - bit Release 2.1 standard are supported.

Type II - BUT, under the 'Expansion', it refers to

    Berries

    • A built-in, easy to load modular Ultrabay Slim
    • Type II PC Card slot
    • One ExpressCard/54 slot

    Hi solariski,

It's a PC card slot, and according to personal lenovo reference book you can use Type I or Type II card. There is no ExpressCard on Z61t card as it appears. Was also a thread on this subject:- http://forum.thinkpads.com/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=35769&start=0

ExpressCard and PC card are two different technologies.

    I hope this helps.

  • Safari in 32-bit mode in El Capitan

    Hello

For school, my children need access to the Web site that runs 'Shockwave '. They are not currently open.

Navigation online suggestions say run it in 32-bit mode, with instructions on how to do it.

However, when I access the app Safari (version 10), and "Get Info", the check box option is not there to run in 32-bit.

Does this mean that I can't go back now?

    Thank you.

    Steve.

With Safari 10, you cannot return to running in 32-bit mode, if that's what you're asking.

  • Can I boot in 32-bit mode?

    MacBook Pro 17 "(8,3) i7 2.2 GHz Quad Core 16 GB DDR3 750 GB HD OS X Mavericks 10.9.5"

I am trying to connect to a USB 1.1 device which has incompatible firmware with 64-bit OS X.  The camera manufacturer's instructions for a workaround that allows access to the device to update the firmware, providing support OS X 64-bit.  Of workaround requires me to start in 32-bit mode by pressing the '3' key and '2' during the start cycle.  They show how to check and see if your Mac is in 32-bit mode, but their example does not match my window, and my machine doesn't seem to be in 32-bit mode.   I found several references to this '3' start + "2" keyboard shortcut, but nothing official from Apple.

Please do not recommend upgrading the OS.  The software I'm using is not supported by the manufacturer past Mavericks.

Thanks in advance for any help.

If the software is compatible with the Mavericks like you state that the developer shows you should be able to use the device in 32 or 64 bit.

When using any modification of the startup of the suggestion of anyone on the internet always proceed with caution, and damages are exclusively your own:

    Method 1: Start key combination
This will bypass the default mode and use a different mode for single session.

    • If your Mac uses the 32-bit mode by default, press 6 and 4 at startup
    • If your Mac uses 64-bit by default, press 3 and 2 at startup

Note: Your Mac will return to the default mode the next time it starts. Method 2: Setting disk
This will change the default mode used by your Mac when starting. For 32-bit mode, use the following command in a Terminal:

    • sudo setkernelbootarchitecture systemsetup - i386

For the 64-bit mode, use the following command in a Terminal:

    • sudo systemsetup setkernelbootarchitecture - x86_64

When FF 42 came out the information I had was that the 64 bit version for Windows had not all plug-ins of the 32-bit version. I was left with the impression that he was still developing. At FF 43 moved beyond that?

Yes, I think that it is correct.

Hi berwyn, mozilla won't because the plan published (as do other browser vendors as well) is completely remove support for the npapi and move the web content plugin. the win64 version already takes this kind of slate.

  • Is it possible to install 64-bit Firefox in addition to the 32-bit version on a Windows OS?

As the new 64-bit version was released with the help of Add on a minimum, I want to use next.
When the support or 64-bit modules newly emerge I would dissipate the 32-bit version because I only work on 64 bit systems

Install the Win64 version in a different folder where the 32-bit version is installed, by using the custom option. And if you want to be able to run both versions at the same time create a new profile for Win64.

  • If I upgrade to 64-bit will work my addons. If not when?

    See above

Extensions should work on Win64 Firefox but only the Flash Player 64 - bit and a Silverlight Plugins is white listed to run in 43.0 Win64 Firefox release.

If you want to use other Plugins in Firefox on Windows, you need Firefox 32 bit and 32-bit Plugins.
