Zbook 15 G3 HP workstation: SSD options 2nd ZBook G3 work mobile station

I just have been provided by a workstation mobile Zbook 15 G3 which was provided with a 512 GB Z SSD PCIe turbo drive and want to add a 2nd drive SSD and running Windows7 / 64-bit

So what are my options because it looks like he can take a traditional SSD in the Bay and has a 2nd I think port PCIe? even HP sales couldn't help then regarding help forums

They are easy to add? or known issues? and what people recommend

Thank you for any info you can give me

  • These SSD options would be compatible with my Early 2011 13 inch Macbook pro?

    Hello

My mac I'm really slow so I decided to buy an SSD, but I can't be sure if it is compatible with my mac. SSDS are super expensive in my country, I just have to be sure before buying.

    TECHNICAL DATA:

Processor: 2.3 GHz Intel Core i5

    RAM: 4 GB 1333 MHz DDR3

Graphics card: Intel HD Graphics 3000

    13-inch, early 2011

    Samsung 750 EVO 250 GB

    Samsung 750 EVO 120 GB

If you want a definitive answer, contact the technical support from the manufacturer.  The general rule is, if the SSD is identical to a HARD SATA 2.5 form factor ", it will work in your MBP.

  • New window opening when the problem of double click even if I haven't changed in folder option but it not worked

    Dear sir\madam

I am using the windows 7 every time I am double clicking in the drive and the folder open in the new window only. I even changed this option in the FOLDER AND SEARCH option, but it is futile his does not work. Friends by saying: it is a virus. Please help me solve this problem.

    Thanks and greetings

    AURÉLIE

I am not sure, I've not had the problem myself, but a quick search found this - http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_7-files/folders-open-in-new-window-despite-folder-option/5fba3897-7655-4068-8992-2d8b20063b3f

Good reading and see if you think it's the same problem. If so and the choice of folder option certainly does not work for you, there are a few things to try to make up a batch file and it works from a simple sfc/scannow (I have not tried but it is marked as answer).

    It will be useful.

If you suspect a virus, update your anti-virus software and run a full scan, then download, install, update and run a scan complete with (free) malwarebytes. Just run as free on demand, no need to check for any trial etc.

I've owned a touch in the past. I work with pictures and as power to swipe from one photo to another. It is much easier to use a mouse. I love being able to pinch also enlarge the photos and text.  This makes a lot of sense.  I didn't want to be curious, just any other interested is the motivation for the purchase of a certain model of computer.  I agree.  I have a laptop HP game Omen.  It has a touch screen, a trackpad.  I use a mouse without a wire with her, too.  It is perfect for viewing photos and anything else.

It is interesting that envy all in a series allows an upgrade to an SSD. Is there a difference with this series first to those vs the Pavilion?  I don't know why this is, except HP emits different models for all price ranges.

If it is not expandable, I guess that I would buy a pc because I really like the idea of an SSD. A technician at HP would know?  This is your best option.  I would contact the Service HP customer for using the upgrade information before buy you.  This will ensure I hope you don't buy something that you don't like.

  • Portégé R700-15 q-Use the SSD as 2nd drive

    Hello

I would like to install a small SSD as a second drive in my r700-15 q, in order to experience the renaissance SSD.

I see that others have done that using a shopping cart that is installed in the optical drive Bay.

My laptop is not equipped with an optical drive, or a Bay for an optical drive. Only, it came with a traditional hard drive 7200 RPM. Here is the http://www.toshiba.co.uk/discontinued-products/portege-r700-15q/ complete spec

Is there anyway to install a second drive in my laptop (r700-15 (q)?

In the worst cases, is there enough connectors and isolating a space to accommodate a small SSD inside with tape!

    Thank you!

  • X220i SSD options

Hi, im account required to upgrade my x220i (academic model with core i3) with an ssd.

    1 - is the support sata3 x220i? That is, the OCZ Vertex 3 120 GB 2.5 "

    2. If so, it will be much faster that the mSata ssd IE. Intel 310 80 GB?

    3. how the mSata ssd (in this case, the series intel 310) resists against 2.5 "SSD (i.e. intel, ocz vertex 2, samsung 830) in terms of performance.

I am concerned by speed rather than the storage space, the advantage of the msata ssd + hdd is neglected.

responses and recommendations are greatly appreciated.

    Thank you very much

    POOM

220 X requires a SSD/HDD of 7 mm. Vertex2/3 are 9.5 mm. Some have received them to adapt, but you cannot use the support provided with him and some had to take off keyboard, etc...

It is not an easy adjustment.

There is no 7mm SSD a lot there, one of them is Intel 320 series (sata2), and there are a few like Micron C4, Crucial C300 SATA3, I think that a new 830 Samsung is also 7mm...

Some have a spacer that you can remove, but it voids the warranty on some units.

Make sure you find a 7mm.

  • What does the option, 2nd right, down the canvas of fresh paint do?

I do not know how to make it any easier than this.  The first option (circle) reverses the last traces of paint, the next option (circle) put the paint back stroke and the 4th (circle) is to dry the paint on the canvas so your next color will not mix.  I don't know what option 3 (circle) is for.  I tried several times to see what will happen without any result.  A Yes, I know I'll feel stupid when I find, however, someone please tell me.

  • R430 2 TB PCI-E SSD options?

Hi all, we have a client looking to install a 2 TB PCIE SSD (style FusionIO) in their R430.  Is this possible, and is there a model that fits physically?  As I understand it, these are usually quite large for a 1U server to manage.  Reference Dell has a list of models supported somewhere?

    Hello.

It looks like PCIe SSD are not supported on the R430 server. The next platform is the R630 or T630 which offers support for the SSD PCIe NVMe on backplane configuration.

  • PowerEdge RAID SSD Options

    Hello

I want to create a configuration of server and storage, I would look at the below:

    • PERC H730P internal RAID, 2 GB of Cache NV controller
    • 2 x 200 GB SSD (RAID 1 for the OS)
    • 4 x 400 GB SSD (RAID 10)

I've seen on these forums that this or similar configurations are supported and even saw a white paper on the Dell website where a 4 discs SSD RAID 10 has been used, but still my assigned comes to tell me that the SSDS in a RAID configuration is not "recommended" by Dell and are rather trying to sell me the solution of Cache of DAS of SanDisk.

Looking for confirmation that I can use drives SSD in a RAID AND configuration has full Dell supported. Thanks in advance to anyone who can help with this.

    Hello

What model of server are you watching? What OS you run on it? If you use valid Dell SSD, you shouldn't have a problem with this Setup. The controller supports the TRIM and should work fine in the RAID. If you use rank consumer SSD you can have problems.

  • How can I protect he'S catalogs when installing software for SSD drive & 2nd data disc

I know that this has been answered a thousand times... but when I search, I find that a 1 000 answers and none relate exactly to my question...

    I have a laptop

I have a technician install a 1 TB Solid State Drive adjacent to the existing "spin drive" provided with the laptop (1 TB)

I'm having the existing drive spin "wiped clean" and reformatted

I him have to put all THE SOFTWARE, including 10 Windows on the SSD drive

CC - Lightroom and Adobe Photoshop will operate the SSD

My 'current' workflow about 6 weeks of photography is retained on the SSD for faster treatment

These last about 6 to 8 months of photography will be kept on the existing "spin drive" came with the computer.

Previous work will be kept on a 3 TB external storage drive

I'm dragging 633 GB of photos of my 'drive spin' on my drive external hard to ensure the guard with the upgrade is performed.

    ...........................

And here is my fight...  I don't know enough about Adobe CC to make sure that I have all my files protect.       I know that I have several catalogs, but the drop-down list on the menu (at the signing in LR) shows about 8-10 choice and I'm only using 4 or 5!

How Lightroom find my Photos after I drag them back to the newly - reformatted "spin drive?   I know how to find a lost file manually... So should I do hundreds of records, I have?

Where my LR catalog folder will be stored?   Right now it is in my pictures folder.   It will be there if the Adobe program resides in the SSD?

I have more questions... but that's enough for now...

    Thank you

    John

First of all, your CPU is old and slow by today's standards, and clearly a faster CPU would do a faster job of making these backups.

In the second place, it is a very large catalog file, 9.2 GB. (Are you sure that you watched the .lrcat file and not the amount of space occupied by the photos?) Yes, you are supposed to use Windows Explorer to find the size of the. LRCAT file. For comparison, my catalog with almost 30 000 images is only 1.75 GB. All the brushing, you did apparently exploded the size of your catalog.

You can reduce the size of the catalog file by clearing the history on each photo (this leaves the changes in place but you will be able to go back in history and see the sequence of steps that you used). I'm not aware of a way to do bulk on each photo, but in the back of my mind, I think that this has been discussed in this forum and you might want to search for.

The last thing you might consider of doing backups until you go to sleep. Just leave Lightroom open until you go to bed, then close and let the process of backup with happiness.

So, that's all that I can think of to make this faster process right now (other that to split the catalog file, which has many disadvantages). Faster processor, remove the story and let Lightroom its backups when you sleep.

  • Run Windows 10 from an external SSD drive? Yes, it works!

That's what I did to make it work. The whole process takes about 45 minutes, but I think that it really is worth it if you want to run quick and clean Windows 10 on your iMac.

    What you need:

    • An SSD external - data is deleted
    • An iMac 27 "(end of 2013 in my case)

Temporarily, for the installation, you will also need:

    • A computer with Windows 7, 8 or 10 to copy the correct files on the SSD drive and make it bootable
    • A computer running with OS X download BootCamp
    • A USB - data is erased

First, in Windows, you get a file ISO for Windows 10. You can use the media to https://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/software-download/windows10 authoring tool and choose to save it as ISO file (do not create a USB bootable media).

    1. Double-click on the. ISO file. This will mount the disk to install on a disk (in my case, the letter E).
    2. Connect the SSD drive to a free USB port
    3. Open an administrator command prompt and type:
      1. DiskPart
      2. list disk (to identify your external SSD drive number)
      3. select disk 2 (or another number to your external SSD drive, make sure you do not erase your internal drive, usually on 0).
      4. clean - be careful, if you have selected the wrong disc, erase all the data on it
      5. create part pri
      6. Quick format
      7. assign letter = O (or another letter if already used)
      8. assets
      9. output
      10. DISM/apply-image /imagefile:"E:\sources\install.esd" / index: 1 /ApplyDir:Y:------(change E to another letter for the ISO file mounted)
      11. BCDBOOT. EXE Y:\WINDOWS/s Y:/f BIOS (so that the boot in the BIOS only drive (not EFI))
      12. output
      13. Eject all disks properly or simply shut down your PC.

Then on your Mac, open the wizard BootCamp (click on Launchpad and type "bootcamp" to find) and check ONLY "download the latest software of Apple's Windows support. Save it on your USB thumb drive. Stop your iMac. Remove the USB key and keep it in your hand.

Turn on your iMac by pressing the option (alt) key. You will see an orange icon with Windows. Select this option and wait until you see 'Getting ready devices', wait a little longer until you hear the startup chime and press the option (alt) key to make sure that start you on the external hard drive. That's all!

Now you have a copy of Windows from your external USB drive. You just need to install the BootCamp drivers on your USB (\Bootcamp\Setup.exe). Reset.

Oh, you have 10 Windows running natively on your beautiful iMac.

    Enjoy!

The answer is in the response. I don't know how to post a tip!
