ZBook 17 G2 Mobile Workstation: HP ZBook 17 G2 Mobile Workstation

I am interested in the HP ZBook G2 17 Mobile Workstation and look for its price with NVIDIA Quadro K5100M instead of

K3100M. I couldn't see the option upgrade within your online store.

Could you please tell?

Then when I updated to Windows 10, I kept getting BSoD error of internal power (which was fairly common apparently with AMD for w10). So, I leave the computer to reset and install a clean version of Windows 10 and now it does not recognize my card AMD more. I can not access the Recovery Manager because the reset wiped all of the HP software is it possible to access the recovery partition and the factory restore it? Any help appreciated thanks

Found a list of the drivers of the computer (the 'G1' not the G2), they have yet to try but I'll post them here and edit more later if it works.

Edit: Never found a solution for restoring the computer from the recovery partition so I decided to stay with Windows 10 since the update stopped at least the BSOD HP drivers.

  • HP ZBook 17 G2: upgrade Windows 10 problem with workstation HP ZBook computer laptop with built-in HP Client Security

    Hello

I tried to upgrade to Windows 10 64 - bit on my computer HP ZBook Workstation 17 G2 Portable under 64-bit Windows 7 and HP Client Security, but it did not work. I think the HP Client Security prevents the installation of window 10. How can I solve this problem? I have 6 days to update free of charge. Help!

    Thank you!

HP customer security is not compatible with Windows 10. Windows 10 has its own security and will not another security program runs on Windows 10. Uninstall the HP CS program before the upgrade. Or simply do not update.

  • Working Mobile HP ZBook 17: HP ZBook 17 - how to locate the slot for failing to DIMM

When running memory diagnostics, I get a failure where newspapers are pointing to "channel Num Num 1 DIMM 0"- but nothing on which four slots contains DIMM failure.

Where can I find documentation that translates this DIMM/channel numbering scheme to the numbers 1-4 or location physical location (primary or Expansion) mentioned in the service manual?

I tried to keep this brief and precise question, but I can provide more details if necessary.

    Thank you!

I resorted to an approach of trial and error to swap DIMM and execution of diagnostic tests to find the bad DIMM.  It was tedious (especially where I had to keep remove the optical drive and the keyboard to switch to the primary slots), but I finally managed to determine that I had TWO bad DIMM, replaced those with the new, and I'm back running with 32 GB.

I never got an answer about the Diagnostics DIMM numbering at the locations of the physical location to translate, but I managed to learn more through my tests.  Here's what I've been able to determine:

    PHYSICAL DIAGNOSIS

    Channel #? / DIMM #0 main site #1

    Channel #? / DIMM #0 main site #2

    Channel #1 / #1 location #1 DIMM Expansion

    Channel #0 / DIMM #1 Expansion Slot #2

This should really be recorded somewhere and maybe I wasn't able to find the right document.  I hope this information helps someone else.

  • ZBook 17 G3: ZBook 17 G3 with nvidia Quadro M2000M

    That's right - who's wrong... If any?

I have a G2 470 ProBook Revit and Autocad Architecture running G6W69EA and it does not work well.

So I think buy a ZBook 17 G3 instead, and comparing the different specifications, I came across this:

According to NVIDIA to http://www.nvidia.com/object/quadro-for-mobile-workstations.html the Quadro M2000M made for the Platform 15.6 ".

Among other things, HP ZBook 17 G3 - T7V62EA #ABY is built according to the specifications of HP with the Quadro M2000M, however it NVIDIA should be the M3000M when it is on a platform 17.3 ".

Is this perticular ZBook good built, or is - this 'money by windows' not go for something like the Y6J67EA with Quadro M3000M place?

There is nothing wrong with the 17.3 "and the combination of M2000M.

The M2000M is enough for most use Revit and Autocad.  Very complex models may require the graphics power of addition, where intermittent 3D rendering or low complexity models can work very well with less graphical power.

Windows 7 configurations are always available because some big company facilities have not yet standardized on Windows 10.

  • Zbook dock: Zbook Dock: appropriate equipment

Is August 3, troubleshooting guide to sign must "click the remove safely icon in the notification area, at the far right of the taskbar".  Where is this icon?  I have the icon of love at first sight, but it does not offer any option to delete.  The link is:

    http://h20565.www2.HP.com/hpsc/doc/public/display?sp4ts.Oid=11122586 & docLocale = en_US & docid = emr_na-C0...

In this same document he links to dock Zbook (4AA6-5088EEW) white paper that says for the cable, just pull "to remove the HP Elite docking station with Thunderbolt 3 or HP ZBook with Thunderbolt 3 in your HP laptop or HP ZBook Mobile Workstation, it is recommended to first disconnect the dock wait icon Thunderbolt (see Figure 3) in the system status bar is gone then put the laptop or. "mobile workstation in the waking state, hibernation, restart or stop.

    Which is correct?

I think I solved the problem to my satisfaction, I hope it helps others.

Also, I tried to get more information of HP chat support, but they left hear only the computer off and then unplug.  It would be the 3rd option HP (and the worst option) to follow no real clarity on the procedure of HP.  The Zbook attach end of nightmares?

I believe that the white paper (4AA6-5088EEW, August 2016) made the most sense, although it may lack key information:
    http://WWW8.HP.com/h20195/v2/GetPDF.aspx/4AA6-5088EEW.PDF

The white paper says to unplug the dock (without preparation), what seems dangerous to me.  Only, I'm ready to do if the USB devices plugged into the dock to comply with Windows "Rapid withdrawal" of the policy in the Device Manager settings.  The keyboard and the mouse need not of settings, since they are different profiles of USB.  Someone braver than I can try to ignore the parameters of "Quick release" to find out what's going on :-).

The political "quick withdrawal" is not set, then if the option 'Remove the device safely' with the icon of USB in the bar of tasks, firstly, and THEN do the Zbook dock disconnect.  I think that's what the document online tried to say in words very confusing and lacking other details:
    http://h20565.www2.HP.com/hpsc/doc/public/display?sp4ts.Oid=11122586 & docLocale = en_US & docid = emr_na-c05060909

So far, I didn't re-docking on the fly and disconnection problems.  I run all the latest Zbook 15 G3 drivers, BIOS 1.10 etc, for those who want to know.  More a few bug fixes for the Zbook dock and it will be a good product.

  • T7V51EA: ZBOOK 15 G3 - MXM... what product code?

    Hello world

I want to know what model of Zbook G3 15 MXM slot for GPU upgrade.
I'm in Italy and I'm looking for this product code: T7V51EA with over-pants w5710m GPU. Is this a MXM have?

What codes of laptops have the MXM slot (computer 15 "laptop)?

    Thanks for the help guys

You have more than one product. The Zbook 15 Studio G3 is a different laptop, as the 15U. The U15 lacks an MXM slot and neither does the model Studio. In both cases, the video is soldered to the motherboard. Zbook 15 G3 Mobile Workstation models all have an MXM slot and understand those you list a MXM graphics card. You can't assume that you can replace and upgrade the video card with something other than an official part of HP. MXM video cards are not in 'standard' as maps of office. Also the nVidia Quadro and AMD over-pants maps use a different radiator.

I can personally verify the configuration of the workstation Mobile G3 Zbook I an and that you actually installed an inside MXM graphics card and I found the manual for the 15U and Studio and the nether show an MXM slot. Return ticket for any other information you might need.

  • HP ZBook 15 G3: USB Ports

    I have a HP ZBook 15 G3 Mobile Workstation (Engery Star) - product number - V2W12UT #ABA.

There is a USB Port on the left side of the laptop and two USB Ports on the right side and two USB Type-C (compatible Thunderbolt) ports on the right side.

3 USB ports say "SS" next to ports.  I know that this means they are Super Speed but are the ports USB 2.0 or 3.0?

    3, not 2... SS = USB 3.0

  • HP Zbook 15 3, Thunderboltdock: Ethernet on dock thunderbolt will not work

    I have problems with my dock Thunderbolt 3 150W and my Zbook 15 3 ethernet, Windows 7 / 64-bit.

I had many issues before with the system after an update of the BIOS (slow performance, usb poorts this work would ' t, windows that would not download updates, ect.). I read a lot of postst similar problems. The material was exchanged by HP, but the problems remain, and I found myself only to install the BIOS and updates. Thanks HP!
After a long period of fiddeling I'm back at work.

Except for the Ethernet on the quay of the lightning. Somehow the pilots are not inatlled / available. The Ethernet / WIFI on the laptop works very well, but not on the dock.

I don't know where to find the right drivers / how to install them. Who can help?

I have the Zbook 15 G3 workstation Mobile using the Zbook Thunderbolt 3 dock:

    http://WWW8.HP.com/us/en/workstations/zbook-dock.html

I send you this on the Zbook connected to the dock using its gigabit ethernet port. HP Support Assistant provided all the drivers needed for the dock. Here is the screenshot of my device manager:

What is your device under network devices Manager? The Intel ethernet is built in the and the Broadcom NetXtreme is ethernet in the dock. HP has drivers for both on the support page for Windows 10 64-bit on the Zbook G3 home page.

I got a little difficult at first to get the dock to work, but I went into BIOS and disabled all the security settings of Thunderbolt. If you need any help post more come back.

  • Zbook 15: Primary memory locations

    Hello

I think of a memory upgrade for my 15 zbook. I have the two expansion slots occupied and before you actually buy the memory I wanted to check if I am able to make the change myself. So I tried from the memory of the expansion slot at the primary slots, those under the keyboard.

At this place, I found the place for memory, but not slots for it.

No idea why, or what can I do in this case?

I've attached a picture of how my under-keyboard-slots looks like

Well the manual says flat there are 4 locations of memory. I also know that on a HP mobile workstation recent model units with dual core processors have 2 slots and equipped models of Quad Core processors have 4.

I also noted in the manual that the models Dual Core and Quad Core use different motherboards. I'll guess your laptop computer has a processor dual-core and the motherboard has only 2 slots memory, expansion that is more easily accessible slots only. If your laptop computer has a processor Quad Core explanation would then become more obscure and there must be an oversight at the factory during the production of the motherboard, and you should be entitled to a replacement laptop. In my opinion, if it is a dual core of the processor itself to limits you to 16 gigs so that you could not install modules of 4 x 8 gig anyway.

Post back and we do know.

  • HP probook, elitebook and zbook: GPU for rendering

    Hello!
I plan to buy a new laptop that I will use also for Sony vegas pro. I wonder who this card (found in better HPs) would be better for the work:

Duh... sorry my bad. So scratch the reference to gaming laptops. Go to 180 degrees in the other direction. What you want to do, the G3 of 15 Zbook is the way to go. The card over-pants is roughly equivalent to the nVidia 2000M I have and it is perfect for creating content of production. My understanding is that the workstation Mobile G3 Zbook is the 'go - to' mobile these days for film production... Used to be Mac Holywood, but went to a large extent on PC and HP sells most of the hardware (laptops and fixed powerful workstation machines).
