ZBOOK 17 - Flash Cache & general system failure

Greetings,

History:

On my first install of windows on my 17 Zbook, the operating system installed the system reserved on the flash SSD cache partition. I thought I'd do a reinstall when I ordered and installed a 1 TB SSD. I removed all hard drives and flash installed the operating system cache, then turned off the computer and re-installed the cache flash. Now when I try to boot it gives me 5 flashes on the caps/NumLock with a pretty black screen.

Has anyone encountered this before? All I could do to fix it? Thanks in advance,

Ryan

Thanks for the reply. I'll be sure to do that next time.

I eventually found how to fix it. I removed all the readers, disconnected from all power and then removed the BIOS battery. He gave some time, clinging to power, and she came back to life. Of course he gave me some error messages, but after removing the power again and reconnect all devices (the ssd of 32 GB samsung flash cache included) then turn it on, everything was back to normal.

No idea why she wanted to play dead but at least he's back running.

  • 0xc19a0023 of Photosmart ink system failure

    I have a photosmart C6380 All - In - one printer which has an error message on that says "ink system failure, 0xc19a0023 please turn printer market."  Followed all directions under the heading contact hp as turning point on and outside, by unplugging all the cords, clean the electrical contacts, etc..  Bought in 3/09, so out of warranty.  Called Hp and has spent 37 minutes on the line with them, trying to sell me a new printer without ever discussing the problem with someone difficult to understand.  Was willing to pay $20 for 14 days tech support but kept making pressure to pay $37.for 1 year of technical support.    We know what means this code and how to fix it?  Have never had any other problems with the printer and still use the correct HP with her ink cartridges. Have windows Vista on my computer.  Thank you!

    Usually with a message like that, we recommend you first disconnected the USB cable if it is connected to a computer. Then remove the cartridges from the printer as well. With the always on power, unplug the power cord at the back of the printer, as well as the wall, and then wait for about 60 seconds. After that, plug it to the wall first, then the printer, allowing it to start.

    If it gives you a message similar to "the following ink cartridges appear to be missing or corrupt" you can reinstall them at this time, when you are prompted.

    (If you do not have a keyboard, then you won't be able to do the 2 steps. Please see below.)

    If you get the error message even if you have a numeric keypad on the printer, proceed in the same way, but before plugging it back in, press and hold the button # with the number 3 and plug the power cord into the printer and now the buttons. Once the printer starts to show he'll be back to the top, you can release the buttons and allow him to return to the top.

    If you continue to get the message, then do the same thing except hold # and number 6 on the keypad and it allow to return to the top.

    If you still get the message after all the steps above are performed, please contact HP for a replacement, if your printer is still under warranty. If the printer is out of warranty, then we have still generally upgrade options available, and you may be able to get a replacement printer (yet a different or better model) cheaper to go buy a new one. It is usually a good idea to call to see what your options may be at this time for this on phone support options. Beyond what I posted, it is not a lot of telephone support can do for you, so, in my opinion, I would try to focus on the upgrade options.

  • 0xc19a0020 ink system failure error message

    Hello

    I have a HP Photosmart Plus, product # CN216, model # B210a. I'm running Mac OS X 10.7.5

    Today, I turned on my printer and got the error message "ink system failure 0xc19a0020 please turn printer Off and then on.

    So I did, but still got the error. So, I did the troubleshooting, which told me how to clean the print head. I've done 3 times, but I still get the error. I unplugged the power cord from the printer, then the wall, waited, then reconnected. I still get the error.

    I use the printer at least once a week, so he hasn't been sitting unused for too long.  I have not changed anything or whatever installed lately. The ink cartridges have ink.

    Anything else I can try? The replacement print head is $72!

    Thank you!

    Sorry, but generally, this can be a bad head of printing or bad cartridges. Here is a link that will help you with this problem, even if you did most of these steps.

    If you have already replaced the front print heads and you return to this same stage, it would be a bad printer and maintenance needs.

  • My HP printer has an ink system failure, what can I do to fix this?

    Hello

    I'll do a tutorial on how to solve the error message ink system failure.

    Now, in general this error can occur when the ink cartridges are bad, the printhead is damaged or the sensors are indicating that the ink system has failed to the printer.

    Step 1:

    The first step we take with an ink system failure problem is a hard reset with the printer. A hard reset Resets the sensors inside the unit causing the sensors reading if the print head or ink cartridges are healthy or not.

    Hard Reset:

    Unplug the power cord from the printer and the wall

    Wait for 30 seconds

    Plug the power cord into the printer, and then on the wall (do not plug power cord into a surge protector)

    Step 2:

    Now, if the hard reset doesn't fix the problem there are a few available documents to follow which will guide you through a few steps to try to resolve the printer.

    I will list a couple of them here:

    If your printer does not appear please go to HP support and drivers and search for your printer and your document.

    Photosmart C7280

    OfficeJet Pro 8600

    OfficeJet 6500 Wireless

    Step 3:

    If none of these documents allows to solve the issue, I would call HP @8004746836. They should be able to help you replace or repair the unit. This could result in the replacement of the printhead, if so please be aware that if you are out of warranty, it will cost you.

  • Message 'Ink system failure' error 0xc05d1281 in Photosmart C7250 Printer

    First message was "cartridge after expiry."  I turned and turn on the printer. Tried to print again. New message has been

    'Ink system failure', I bought a new cartridge, installed, tried again, still 'ink system failure '.  The printer is a 3 in 1, black Plus 5.

    About 4 years.

    Hello rubadub,.

    Regarding your question, here is the troubleshooting HP article.

    An alphanumeric Code (example: ' 0 x 'r' C2...) ") or 'Ink system failure' Error Message is displayed on the front panel when printing

    Ink system failures are usually in the ink cartridge, the print head or in the printer. Since you have already replaced the ink cartridge, the problem lies in the print head or the printer.

    The C7250 print head is permanent and cannot be replaced or cleaned outside the aircraft so there is not much we can do with working with her.

    Go through the article and follow the steps in the order

    1. remove the cartridges and install it

    2. use the automatic printhead cleaning utility (sometimes you may need to run this several times)

    3 reset the product

    4 maintain the product

    If the first three steps do not resolve the problem, there is not much to service other than the product. Return ticket if the first three steps help or do not help, maybe we can think outside of the box before going to the service, but we'll see if the standard general steps work.

  • Need advice from configuration to the flash cache multi-node RAC/ASM

    We have a database of CARS to work two nodes. We install a new fusion 640 GB flash card in each node. The is a double card, so that it shows up as two devices: / dev/fioa and/dev/fiob on each node.
    We have created two groups of private drives, one on each node. The Group of disks on node 1 is '+ FLASHCACHE' and the disk on node 2 group is "+ FLASHCACHE2".

    We have not found specific examples of how to configure the parameters of the init for flashcache on RAC/ASM. We guess that we must do the following. If anyone would be critical and confirm or suggest something different, we would appreciate it very much!

    "prod1.db_flash_cache_file ='+ FLASHCACHE/flash1"
    prod2.dg_flash_cache_file = '+ FLASHCACHE2/flash2'
    * .db_flash_cache_size = 600G

    Thanks for any advice.

    Published by: jimbev90 on January 5, 2012 08:18

    Hi Jim,.

    prod1.db_flash_cache_file='+FLASHCACHE/flash1'
    prod2.dg_flash_cache_file='+FLASHCACHE2/flash2'
    *.db_flash_cache_size=600G

    Your configuration is correct.

    Smart Flash Cache database is not shared across RAC nodes. It is private to each RAC instance. For this reason, each RAC instance must define its own local cache of flash file path. When the flash cache is managed by ASM, a separate diskgroup is necessary for each instance flash cache.

    You can use ALTER SYSTEM for db_flash_cache_size set to zero to disable the flash cache. Alternatively, you can use ALTER SYSTEM to deliver the flash cache to its original size to reactivate it.

  • Flash cache initialization settings

    Hi, I recently got patched up OEL and works with a flash mounted on my system drive... I now want to have a play around with oracle flash cache...

    I need set the following... db_flash_cache_file and db_flash_cache_size

    could someone help me with the syntax to do? is this something in the sense of

    ALTER system set db_flash_cache_file ='/ media/ssd /';

    ALTER system set db_flash_cache_size = "xxgb"?

    Any help would be appreciated

    for example, I tried...

    SQL > alter system set db_flash_cache_file ='/ media/ssd /';
    ALTER system set db_flash_cache_file ='/ media/ssd /'

    so, when I select * from v$ version and it said 11.2.0.1.0...

    even if I have the version 11.2.0.1.2 due to the application of the fix 9654983?

    Yes. I think that Oracle would call it version no version. If search you metalink patch 8974084 you will see the patch for versions/versions: 11.2.0.1.0 and 11.2.0.1.1.

    to remedy this situation all I should follow the steps below:

    1 restore 9654983
    2. apply 9352237
    3 then apply 8974084

    ... then the flash cache must be enabled?

    fix. do not forget to enter 8974084 for 11.2.0.1.1.

    Ink system failure Officejet 6500 (no error code specified)

    I have turned off the machine on again (and it doesn't)

    I turned off the computer and unplug the unit (and it does not fix it)

    Without specific error code I'm not sure what to do

    Hi CHCA. Your Officejet 6500 must be out of warranty? You can doublecheck the warranty status of your printer here: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/weInput?cc=ie & lc = on -if it is still under warranty, you should not pay for a new printheaad.

    But if your printer is no longer under warranty, you buy one a. The part that you really need to order an Officejet 6500, is CN643A. If you are in the United States, here are the HP part store page where you can order the new print head Assembly: http://h20141.www2.hp.com/HPPARTS/Search_Results.aspx?mscssid=C580393F30964EDD82B16A5C641BEC41 & Searchin' PartNumber = & SearchPN = CN643A

    If you are not in the United States, start from this page: http://welcome.hp.com/country/us/en/wwhowtobuy.html , specify your country and search for CN643A.

    Also, here is a support document that should help you with the replacement of the print head: http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c01643079

    I can't print because of the error message following on my all-in-one HP 6180 printer screen:

    Ink system failure. Refer to the documentation of the printer Oxc18a0201. I followed all the recommendations on documentation of the printer, such as: installation later HP updates, turn off the printer and remove the power cord, remove all the ink cartridges and then putting back in when prompted. Also, I rebooted my computer. Hello Kah524,

    I met your questions and we have a solution for this and you can try it, but that would apply only on starting with '0xC18A' and not '0xc19a error codes.

    Try the following steps for Photosmart C7280:

    A. - Press and hold the "*" key.

    B. - Press the "#" and release both buttons.

    Display should say "enter special key Combo".

    C. - Press and release in sequence the buttons '1', '2' and '3 '.

    Display should say "Support" and display the FW rev (something like R0631R)

    Press and release the right arrow button until the display shows "Menu of the System Configuration'.

    Press and release the OK"" button.

    Display should say "hardware failure status. If it isn't there already, arrow above for "Hardware failure status"

    Press and release the OK"" button.

    Display should say "hardware failure status: clear." Press OK to erase.

    Press and release the OK"" button. Message becomes "hardware failure (breakdowns) resolved state. Press Cancel to continue.

    Press and release the "CANCEL" button as many times as necessary, so that, either the "Welcome to Photosmart Express" screen appears, or, the 'ink system failure' is displayed. DON'T TRY TO PRINT AT THIS STAGE.

    Using the power button, turn the power off and unplug the power cable from the back of the printer output and the wall.

    Wait 30 seconds for the power to get discharged and then plug the power cable into the wall outlet first, and then to the back of the printer

    Switch on the device. The printer may display message "USE POWER BUTTON CLOSING the PRINTER" followed by "Press OK TO CONTINUE". Press OK.

    If the printer has already initialized, then go to the next step. If this isn't the case, the printer will start the "ONE TIME INK initialization PROCESS". Allow this process to do and not to interrupt. Once the initialization is completed, the printer print a Diagnostic page.

    To check, features of the printer print a PAGE of TEST car. If SELF TEST prints, then printer is ready for use or installation of the software.

    If the error is still there, or reoccurs replace the unit.

    -----------------------------------------------------

    0XC19a error messages, the printer can be retrieved.

    Good luck and if that fixes the problem please click on Bravo...

  • HP Officejet 6600 e-all-in-one printer - H711a/H711g 'Ink system failure', will not print computer

    At first, it was just a problem with do not print from the computer.  Error messages had to do with the failure of the print head or do not find print head, etc..  After going through several different controls online, download the scans, etc., it does not at all, print showing an error message "ink system failure".  I tried to remove and reinsert the 4 printheads (black 932, 933 colors) and turning market and check the caps and unplug the power.  Since this is a wireless network, I can't unplug the USB.  It was the OK signal.  Now, with this error message, I don't see the home screen printer controls.  It just says: put it on and then contact HP.  Help, please.  Very frustrated (it didn't happen all at once - a first he wouldn't print from the computer sometimes, other times.)
