1 gigabyte of invisible music in MSC mode

Hi guys. I see my Sansaclip as a storage device usb with the root of my memory of 2 GB internal/computer/Sansa clip files on the internal memory are: Albums, audio books, music, playlists, podcasts, recording, service - as well as a file devicon. I put music on the Sansa when buying a months ago, and it's been great. Now, I tried to find these albums, that the excellent work on the Sansaclip, remove some of them, but this is not possible. The mentioned files are all empty, except for the music folder with 4 testsongs files delivered with the Clip. However, the internal memory is full, and I have obviously checked 'show hidden files/folders', so is not the problem. Where the Sansa Clip hid all the music, and what I can do to be able to see him again? The problem would be that I loaded the music of win2k and I now use winxp? It seems absurd, because it is simple mp3 files, but given this player cache by far just 1 GB, everything is possible. Appreciate your help.

See my response here: free space decreases slowly.

It seems that your machine Win2K wrote files in MSC mode, while the XP computer uses of the PSG.

  • Sansa e260 MSC mode does not show my files

I never have problems with my player sansa until today. I just updated the firmware and now MSC mode does not work correctly. None of my files on the Sansa e260 player appear, do just the default values. However, everything is there when I go through my sansa player, but he does not appear in the player. No clue as to how I can solve this problem, so that the files that I have in my sansa player appear in the disc again? Any help is appreciated, thanks!

The music on the e200 series folder is "hidden". Maybe that is. Change the settings in Windows to "show the hidden files and folders" and see if that helps.

  • Using (Playlists) SD Card in MSC Mode

    Hello;

In MSC Mode, Clip + and another removable drive to the SD card, as separate drives.  So if I were on a SD card, how would create playlists (m3u) which contain music of these two drives?  When connected to a computer, it is available drive letters; When it is not the case, however, there is no drive letters.  Therefore, I don't see how it can be "seemless" as someone mentioned.  I would use the MTP Mode, but I prefer not to as it is not flexible.

    Any thoughts?

In fact, you have a few questions here that need some explanation:

    1. Playlists m3u will be read & play songs of either of the reader memory internal or card SD, but not both. PLA format playlists is going play songs from two sources of memory. Personally, I use Winamp and MSC mode to create playlists .m3u. Then, I use a conversion program to convert the .m3u playlist a .pla one. This works. There are other means. I tell you, just the way that works for me.
    2. Reading 'Transparent', as has been mentioned here refers to the Clip + (or any player with a slot for SD card Sansa) and the fact that the player creates a database containing the songs of two memory locations using the information in the ID3 tags embedded in the files of the song and when 'Play All' (with or without the shuffle) is selected , will play files regardless of the location of the memory. Playlists are a different story (as explained in #1). The only difference is that if you use the folder view (in the menu music).
    3. MSC mode will allow your computer to see your player that separate the 2 discs, the internal memory and the card slot (if a card is inserted in time or not). Your computer sees your device in MTP mode as a single device requiring 'management' and does not assign a drive letter. You can still access two internal & external memories, but it is a "virtual". Also note that your computer can only see the songs in 1 mode at a time, so it is best to figure out which is best for you depending on how you plan to use the drive and all that transfer you the content in this mode 1.

I am with you and a guy MSC through & through. PSG has its purposes (content DRM such as Rhapsody, etc.) and the fans, but MSC you gives the user much more control and is easier all around.

  • Playlists and MSC mode

I know there has been much discussion already MSC vs MTP, but I still have to ask a question.

I've heard about how you can create playlists by drag-and - drop, in MSC mode... but what this means and can I do it?

My playlists keep coming... really annoying voids, so any help is appreciated!

The only MSC, drag and drop solution I use Winamp.  Drag the files to the "rocket" in the Winamp playlist editor, organized as you like, then save the playlist directly on the record of MUSIC of the rocket.

  • Sansa won't work in MSC mode at all

My sansa worked perfectly before, it was rockboxed and loaded with music. Then one day I turned it on and it froze in the system menus of rockbox. I turned the sansa on and outside and he consistantly froze at the same point. I thought it was a problem of rockbox, so I used sansa patcher to uninstall bootloader. Who took care of my freezing problem but now using the original firmware it only sees half of my songs and I don't have a micro sd chip in there. The other problem is that when I put the sansa MSC mode and plug it into the brief of screen sansa bed connected, but then once I try to explore the sansa in windows Explorer, that it goes offline and the computer crashes until I unplug the sansa. I isolated it as a flaw in the sansa by trying on each usb port on three computers different and three different versions of windows (Vista Premium, Windows XP Pro, Vista Home Premium 64-bit). I tried to plug it on and off. Is there a way to fix this? Replace the recovery mode firmware help? The device of formatting would have an effect? MTP mode still works well but I would like to get rockbox works again and I doubt that I can solve the problem of database of it not finding my songs without MSC.

    I appreciate all help.

It's quite strange. MSC is usually easy to use mode and PSG is the problem. I suspect that there is a bad file that was transferred to MSC mode (or while using Rockbox) and he's in trouble. But you can't really fix that one file without returning MSC. I also assume that you use Rockbox to read files as file names and that these files do not have the Sansa like ID3 tags. But any. It is now a mess.

Formatting will delete all the files that you have added to the unit, so let's hope you have backups.

First, try to update or replace the firmware in recovery mode. See if that stabilizes the connection of MSC. You can then run ChkDsk for a chance at a file of fixing problem.

If not, get in shape via the recovery mode. Make an empty folder called sansa.fmt and drag it into 16 MB - FORMAT. Do not use explore to the Format 16 MB FORMAT - that would make things much, much worse.

  • Fuze MSC mode strange question

I bought my girlfriend a rocket of Black 4 GB a month ago, but we still had a problem. When in mass storage Mode, you can not see all files, folders appear empty. I asumed it was some protection against copying or the bug, but updated to the new firmware didn't help.

A week ago I had a second rocket of Black 4 GB as a prize in a contest.  This is a v2, where my girlfriends is a V1. the two are running the latest firmware. When I put the V2 in mass storage mode, I can see all the files in the folders, and my home stereo USB connection can also now see my music. I also tested on my car stereo-enabled USB kenwood and the V2 works fine there too.

I loaded the music in the same exact way (used WMP11), so is there a problem with the V1 rocket that MSC mode does not work properly?

    Any input would be apreciated.

Files is visible only when it is connected in the mode in which they were added.  In other words, files added in MTP/Auto will be not visible when connected through MSC and vice versa.  The player will be always all the files added in two modes, but this content management becomes very difficult.   It is better to simply pick a mode and stick with it (do not use Auto, choose one of the specific modes).

If you want MSC (good choice), you can format the drive in the settings menu, go to MSC and reload all of your files.

  • Satellite NB10T: Want to install Win 7 but cannot change the UEFI in MSC mode

    Hello

I know that it isn't the best article at the post office, but there is no instance void for my computer (Satellite NB10T) series and this problem is bound to win 8
I'm stuck at the moment: I disentailed 8 victory because I want to go back to 7

    I am aware of
    http://APS2.toshiba-tro.de/KB0/TSB2C03F80002R01.htm
The problem is that I did not mode Boot under advanced system configuration option; the only thing I can do is enable or disable secure under the Security tab, startup mode which isn't enough

I also added a supervisor password. It adds a clear keys for secure boot option, but still nothing on the Advanced tab to move to the Csm.
Clearing keys does not work too.

I tried to boot multiple linux distro and win7 on usb bootable (theses work on other computers), but no luck. Boot order usb first value of course).
    What can I do?

Edit: will put some pictures of the uefi

You posted the screenshots of the configuration of Toshiba utility.
The boot mode must be changed in the BIOS settings.

To access the BIOS of the laptop must be turned off.
Then put the unit BUTTON and press F2 to enter the BIOS.

In the BIOS, you will find the necessary options: secure boot must be disabled and the UEFI mode must be changed to MSC mode

  • Create playlists of music already on the player in MSC mode

Let me start by saying to pretend I'm disabled mentally. I've never used a sync button in my life has always been Sansa and used to use MTP mode, right click in Windows, create playlists of pla and get exactly what I wanted. Now I have a zip clip and based on other issues, has decided to switch mode MSC that no longer allows me to right click to create files of pla. So I have a clip zip with various structured files that I leave on the random mode. Everything is good.  I want to create some playlists that put some albums in the order of the pieces. There are several reasons I want to do what some of the music lies in different folders.

So the question is how to do this? Yet once again, I have synced never anything in my life. I opened the windows, created a playlist by dragging the songs on my player and sync says, but who seems to want to copy all the music in the folder (it is are not enough space).

All I want to do is create a playlist based on songs that I already have in my records player void, not copy the music to the player. I don't really know WMP interface since everything I've ever done with, it's hitting the room.  Can someone tell me if I can do this and if so, how, step by step?  I have a Sansa Clip Zip, Windows XP and WMP11.

I really apprecate any help and apologize me if my question is stupid. I went with Sansa from the day 1 to avoid synchronization of Word and simply drag - move the hard drive to the player, but it's time to broaden my horizons.

    Mar

I tried to create several playlists that were basically my favorite albums in the past, back when we bought an album and he played in the order of songs over and over again. The life of God was so simple, not better just more simple.

I just realized that WMP is not the same thing as WINAMP. so I downloaded WINAMP, followed the instructions I got from another forum (anythingbutipod) and it works. Here is the thread in case someone else is as naïve as I am (and assuming it's ok for me to post here)

  • How can I listen to my music in airplane mode?

With all the new changes to Apple, I'm really confused about my music (for which I probably paid thousands of dollars).  It seems that if I don't have a wifi connection or cell I can only listen to one or two songs on my iPhone.  It seems that they have all been sent to the cloud (but I swear that).  How can I hear all my music while I'm away from civilization or do not have a connection (as in AC mode)?

With your iPhone, press 'My music' on the bottom bar in the music app. This is where your music should be.

  • Sansa e260 not recognized by Windows Media Player in MSC mode

    Hello

I have a problem. When I connect my Sansa e260 in my PC, Windows Media Player 12 will not recognize it. I can still see it in the computer, including the Micro SD card. When it's in MTP mode I can see it in WMP, but I don't see that micro SD. thing is I want to download some new songs on the Micro SD card that I can't see. I don't know if I can download songs on the player itself, because I don't have any space left there and I dare not remove anything where I won't be able to download stuff on him. I'm running on Windows 7. This problem occurred during the night. I change not all components, nor that I have installed all new programs. I also tried different USB ports, firmware reinstallation, trying even Rockbox.

That's about all. Any idea is appreciated.

    Thank you.

Set mode MSC, where the map stands as a separate disk. (MTP mode is for control via WMPlayer or Media Monkey).

Albums of drag - move around the map.

  • Question about MTP/MSC modes

I believe that if you select the MTP and browse the contents of your music via your PC, you can see the files transferred via MSC - and vice versa, if you select MSC, you can't see the files transferred via PSG - is that correct?

If so, let's say that you have transferred files to your Clip via MTP and others by MSC - you will see of PSG and masters of the files when you browse through the clamp itself, but only one or the other if you browse a PC?

    Thank you...

    Fix the two counts.

  • advantages and disadvantages of the use of PSG vs msc mode?

I tried to find that answering this question somewhere else, but so far without success.  I recently got a Sansa fuse and this is the first time that I had to worry about the MSC vs MTP modes.

With all the debates of the MTP and MSC are and how to change the mode that it's in, what operating support systems what mode, etc etc etc...

I have not found anything specific to the Sansa fuse which tells me what mode is 'better' to use when I have a choice.  I know "better" is relative, but what are the advantages and disadvantages of each mode?  So far the only annoying I found on DPW is that you cannot use the option 'remove hardware safely' on most of the Windows OS, and that makes me a little nervous.  But it looks like one big annoying thing on MSC seems to be (?) that you can't always see what's on your drive when you are in Windows Explorer.

Any other pro and con on how choose (assuming you are using an operating system where you have a choice).

    Thank you!

Use MSC unless you have a subscription (Rhapsody, Napster, Overdrive) service which must transfer the information of DRM (digital rights misery), which only works with PSG.
