  InDesign CS 6 works very well for Mac mini in MacBookPro it always crash on placing a file on the InDesign Document.

  (1) to uninstall and reinstall CS 6

  (2) using different accounts including admin

  Troubleshooting 3) as following:

  ' a) Trash preferences (cmd-opt-shift-control keys for InDesign starting).

  Corrupt preferences (see above), or maybe the permissions on the folders that contain the preferences are such that InDesign cannot write correctly for them. (it sometimes happen).

  (b) by deleting sub folders: before you remove the sub directories/files, please make a backup (just to the trunk).  Exit design and try to delete the following files/directories (InDesign recreates them initially to the top):

  ~/Library/application support/Adobe/Adobe InDesign CS5.5

  InDesign ~/library/caches/Adobe

  ~/Library/Caches/com.Adobe.InDesign

  InDesign ~/Library/preferences/Adobe

  ~/Library/preferences/com.Adobe.InDesign.plist

  ~/Library/preferences/com.Adobe.InDesign.plist.lockfile

  ~/Library/saved application State/com.adobe.InDesign.savedState

  Note: The user library directory hides under MacPro/Lion. You can get there in the Finder by pressing Option and then go to the menu (other ways are too thin).

  I had encountered this problem before. Then I exported the file in JPEG format and print from there on.

  But now he really mind what adobe does.

  I'm creating a birthcard. There, I designed the background (in indesign with lines simple and circles). Photo with Ribbon that I designed in photoshop. Circle around the image model is also in Indesign.

  When I print this file from indesign, I have really weird stains on my part of Photoshop document.  You can check it in the attachment.

  If I export and print it from there, the tasks are nowhere to be seen.

  Is this some weird setting that I looked over? The Photoshop document is in CMYK format.

• Place several PDF files (or a folder of PDF files) into an InDesign document

  I know there are several scripts to place multipage Pdf into InDesign.

  Based on these scripts I've done myself who place a PDF file with multiple pages in the form of a chart online where the name of the PDF file is inserted as a Cape.

  Works very well. But when I want to import files PDF 20 I have to run this script 20 times, which is not very practical.

  I'm looking for, so a way choose a folder in which are several PDF files that will be placed inside 1 ID doc.

  Any suggestions?

• Trying to get an audio file in my InDesign document

  I placed a file audio mp3 in my paper, and when I select it appears in the media panel where I can play.

  But when I export the document (choose "Adobe PDF (Interactive)" in the format box), the audio file is not displayed on the page. Also, when I try to use the "Preview" Panel, there isn't an overview.

  I looked around adobe site and the net for a solution, but so far nothing yet. Does anyone have any suggestions?

  Had the same problem. Then I realized that I needed to open PDF Acrobat Reader w! Everything was there, including the audio file. From the opening with preview (on mac), there was no audio file, but when I went to Acrobat, here. It's a universe centered on Adobe.

• How to upgrade all PSD files in the Indesign document as a JPEG?

  I'm a wedding photographer who uses Indesign CS5 to create albums. All my photos are initially PSDs in the album. At the end of the album, I would convert PSD files in JPEG format and then be updated in InDesign Album. How can I do this?

  This would smoke less on the size of the file and I will always have the option to edit the album in the future.

  You can batch convert them in Photoshop and save them to a new folder. As long as the file names are the same, you can connect them easily using the repeat order for file in the links Panel. There is a choice there be reprinted under the same name with a new extension.

  But my $0.02 worth is that it won't do a thing for the size of the InDesign file and you will need to store the PSD in any case... which means this actually will increase the amount of storage space you need.

• INDD CS6 error: "InDesign can't open files in format 'InDesign CS5.5 Document'.

  Working in CS6 on Mac OS X 10.7.5: when I double click on an INDD file in the Finder, I get the following error in InDesign:

  "The 'name of the doc' document could not be opened. InDesign can't open files in format 'InDesign CS5.5 Document '. »

  It started recently and I was not able to understand why. I've not updated INDD or OS X. I can't think of anything that has changed, except perhaps an update to Java. Have not updated the latest OS yet.

  The I'm opening the files are files that I created with CS6 - only a few minutes ago.  I can open fine using the file > open command in InDesign, so I can open them, but I can't open them by double clicking it in the Finder or by dragging the INDD icon in the dock.

  The info in the said Finder's "Get Info" window is configurΘ for dΘmarrer in CS6 CS6 files and I have permissions to read and write. They are not locked.

  It is not disabling, but rather annoying and slows me down since it is one of the most common ways I open files.

  Any suggestsion would be appreciated.

  Probably will not work because this looks like a problem of operating system of some sort, but you can try trashing the prefs see replace your preferences

  I have an indesign document that has approximately 1 000 palettes of colors on it.

  There are 5 colors in each color scheme and each pallet is made using 5 boxes of color (see attached template).

  I need to export each of these palettes of colors as indivdual .ase files.

  The only way I can do now is to copy and paste a range in a blank indesign document so I can identify the 5 colors used in the chart, select these 5 colors and then export it as an .ase file.

  Is there a way faster and more reasonable to do?

  Sorry, but I can't help you there. I would have found a different way from the outset. 5000 samples in one document is not exactly what I would call effective.

  You can try to copy and paste objects into an empty file and then export from there.

• InDesign doesn't let Me not open Image files instead in my Document?

  First time posting here and I hope you guys can help! I just installed the Master Collection yesterday after using the suite Design Premium for quite a while. I just started a new document in InDesign and I just wanted to open some pictures and scans of Word in InDesign. However, after I click on file > open > "Proper case" there is a button on the window that reads "all readable Documents." This box is checked, but all the image files are "grey" so I can't select them. If I change the option mentioned earlier to "All Documents" files names is more "grayed out", but when I double click on a file I get an error (see attachment).

  I never had this happen before the images I want to open only from JPEG and PDF files? I need to get a project in tomorrow and now I'm worried. I guess it's something to do with the new facility, but I am at a loss...

  In InDesign, you import the images, using the file > place command, rather than open them. ID only opens files created in InDesign, everything else comes Place or copy/paste (which you should not do with images except from one place to the other in identity documents - paste from Photoshop, for example, only gives you preview low-resolution screen RGB and no way to change and be updated later).

  If you are a fan of drag / drop, you can drag images from bridge, Finder or Explorer and drop them on the page, which is the equivalent of the place. Dragging a window of application is the equivalent of dough.

  I accidentally deleted the source file for an article that is already uploaded on the Folio Builder. Can I download it to my computer? It was a really stupid move, especially because it has not been supported by Time Machine.

  I made a movie of 30 minutes or more in WMM, some of the videos that I imported I had to convert to wmv, to import into WMM. Once I went to publish the movie, after the publication of about 1%, an error message pops up saying something like "cannot publish to the specified location. Check the source files and the location is still available and that there is enough disk space. "I have 8 GB of free space on my hard drive and I tried to burn a cd on a dvd, and save to memory stick, none of them have worked, the same message is displayed even if they have sufficient space available. There is no red x in the videos or photos that I imported, so no files are missing. Some files have been moved when they were converted, but the movie plays well in WMM.  I want to export to is in my documents is therefore always available. I spent hours trying to figure this out and I I still don't know what the problem with it! Help! I've also spent a lot of time to their conversion to avi to see if this helped and the same message appeared again.

  What is the format of your source of debtor files and how did you convert
  TO WMV?

  I can only imagine that you are using Vista Movie Maker 6?

  It's not really about the location... error messages can be very cryptic...
  The error that you mentioned usually appears when the source files in the project
  are damaged or are not fully compatible with Movie Maker and made
  in a movie file cannot continue. In addition, large complex projects can cause

  Several formats are apparently compatible with
  Movie Maker, but the most reliable choices are:

  Photos - bmp
  Video - wmv
  Audio - wav, wma, wmv

  You can create bookmarks in an InDesign document that will take you to a page in the document by double-clicking. Use the Bookmarks panel (window > Interactive > bookmark). Select text and choose new bookmark. Or selected text on a particular page, choose new bookmark and rename for this page.
