15 port pins

Does anyone know what I could use in the 15 Port pins on the side of my Presario CQ62 Notebook PC?

Hello

It is a VGA port, you can use it to connect to an external monitor. It is mimilar to the following image:

    Hello!
    Ive got a question on the serial port. I don't want to make any communication on the port. I want to directly connect an instrument (later), the pin of the connector series #2. On the PIN, I need to read impulses. I am able to read the port pin series, who is active? I know, I can do it on the parallel port. With the port. VI, I give the address of the port, check the D0 PIN for example and the result I can indicate on a led indicator. I want to do the same thing on serial port, because later the target pc will be ve no parallel port. Is this possible? Can you give a statement of departure?
    Thank you very much for your help!
    Mr. Gabor

    You can read the down state from some other lines, DTR, RTS, etc.. There is an example that comes with LabVIEW. Open example Finder (help-> find examples) and search for "Troubleshooting Serial Line Monitor" example (just search "series").

    This can be considered an e/s digital interface a poor man, depending on what you are doing, you can be better with a 'real' digital i/o interface.

  • The use of pins of status (4 outputs) and data (8 entries) of the parallel port pins at the same time.

    Hi all

    I'm a newbee in labview. As part of my project work, I need to get 8 digital inputs and send 4 digital outputs.so I think to use the Parallel Port on the pc.i can make use of 8 datalines for entries. I found the site NOR is it possible to use status for output pins. But is it possible to use status for output pins pins and data for entries to the time.please help even me also mention of the measures to take, or keep in mind while implementing.also include any example vi that could be useful.

    Thanks in advance

    I would recommed you to NOT use the parallel port. Now a day you have hardly a PC with parallel port. also if you have some old PC then most likely last version of LabVIEW (e.g. 2010) will need a lot more memory RAM and processor.

    If you want a solution very very low cost then I would recommend using an arduino to that effect. You can then download LabVIEW Interface for Arduino and start working.

    If you continue to use the parallel port, then you could try (I haven't worked with parallel port and have not tested the following solutions)

    Download VIPM and then install the enclosed package. It will add the port e/s palette in your labview. and you can use it.

  • How the help file c PORT pin [link] to start screen?

    QHM help file is packed for 64-bit Windows 8 by Canon corp. I have a QHM help file for my Canon printer, and it seems to work very well, but...

    Robert Aldwinkle forums seemed almost about to find a way, but everything he thought evaporates.

    C PORT behaves strangely in 64-bit Windows 8. Hold SHIFT and right-click, copy as path copy anything. Send to peak to almost everything in this universe, but there is no shipment to start; and so, we could accept Robert's initial find nothing sends anyway.

    In addition, you can have 2 two shortcuts to a file QHM named the same shortcut! Normally Windows should be able to name the second shortcut MP830 manual Visual (2). Oh no, there is no given name of Manual - Visual MP830 shortened when the shortcut is created by all means possible. The names Windows shortcut simply Visual MP830 manual.

    Yet, double-click Visual manual MP830 and the Canon utility Help opens. Is it only a feature of region 3, or is this global behavior? Is c PORT a help file in format CHM owner? East HARBOR master, a structure of link opening the content of help elsewhere? So many questions.

    How to paste a link to a file QHM help on Windows 8 boot screen?

    Hi Mark,

    I would like to inform you that executable only files that end with .exe file format can be pinned to start screen, the other files whose file formats such as .txt, or ".chm", "section" etc... cannot be pinned on the screen of Windows 8 start.

    If you have additional questions, feel free to post, we will be happy to help you.

  • How to configure which pin a port contains and how are named pins and ports?

    To use GPIO ports / pins, it is necessary to know the ports' / name - pins or ID. The question is: how to set wich pins belong to that port and what IDs and the names of each pin and the port have?

    No, you're right.

    Port/pole numbers will be specific to the implementation.  It's one of those situations "where the rubber meets the road."

  • to detect the meter output via the parallel port

    I need to detect the meter count trigger, to perform an operation every time. I think passing the input signal pins (pins of status or control). The meter uses is omron H7EC.

    I lowered the voltage of 24 V to 5 v with resistors.

    But I can't get the entry via the parallel port.

    All the stems of my status are still high.

    What should I do, please help.

    In the parallel reading write loop.VI, the splash screen is attached.

    I suspect the entries on the parallel port pins have a resistance low pullup to 5V, so they tend to float high (logic 1).

    Try to add a 4 700 Ohm resistor between pins of entry and mass of the parallel port, see if it then reads down pulldown (logic 0). If so, then keep the resistance in place and connect the signal of 5V that you want to monitor at the entrance.

  • area 51 8-pin psu

    Hi I have an area 51 with tri sli 980's and I googled the 1500w power and I do not see 8-port pin, then how I would upgrade to sli titan 2-way x

    stay here with me. #1, most people can not run dual-TX. #2, your video cable, the ends of which plug on a card have 8pin connex, which are called 6 + 2. Certainly, the psu-end of the cable is only a 6pin, but she has the appropriate connecting leads, so that each vid cable there are actually 8 individual wires. Usually segment 2 pin 6 + 2 is inhabited by connecting threads if necessary.

    on the left you can see a jumper right black mass are the 6 + 2 8pins.

    6 + 2 host either a 6-pin or card 8 pins. 2-pin slips on when you need support 8 pins

    you already 8pins... that has responded to your concerns?

  • MagSafe 85W defective twice 2 each period of 1 year

    I have the model of MacBook Pro retina 15 inch end 2013 mono GPU, and it's 2 MagSafe 85W power adapter is defective for the 2nd time in one year. The original one supplied with the MBPr was faulty, a year after I bought my MBPr in June 2014, so I bought a new around 2015 Center local apple Store and it cost about $150 here. And now may 11, 2016, this 2nd MagSafe, bought also died. stop working without any reason. same as the first. I am so confused and obviously really disappointed. I use all my macs and it's accessories in normal behavior in normal conditions, as suggested.

    4 hours earlier it was working fine at my desk, then I went home and discovered that it does not work! Usually, I put my MBP and power adapters on a bag 15-inch fitted with compartments from safe for mac, no dust, no magnetic items. and it connects to the same normal power source (without equipment high voltage or line noise) AC as every day. But this time I heard clicking / popping sound on the main support unit. So I'm sure that its defective.

    What I have tried workaround was:

    all with no luck.

    The only thing that works uses my MagSafe Macbook Air 45W 2 for my MacBook Pro 15 inches for the moment. So, I know that my MBP is fine. I contacted Apple Support via Twitter, they respond. But since I did the test all troubleshooting they can only advise to bring the bad Apple's Service Provider MagSafe2 (I think that they will offer no work around that I can't find on the net, and I think that the repair cost will be the same as buying a new)

    I clearly understand the technical side and the value of the accessories of a computer, it didn't is not on "just buy a new" or just bring it to the service provider. But what I want to discuss here is one of you having the same problem? If there are a number of you have the same problem, means that this could be a serious case that must be addressed by Apple. Having 2 times faulty MagSafe 2 is enough for me.

    in any case, I'd love to hear your opinion, workarounds, nothing about this MagSafe 2, what is the best way to avoid it happening again. I really hope this would be the last time I have problem with $150 (in Asia) 2 MagSafe.

    See you soon

  • Connect a Toshiba TDP - T8 (projector) to a Satellite Pro P100 PSPA4E

    Can someone advise have installed the NVidia driver but without success.

    Asked Toshiba Tech support no better.
    Advised to visit their help center projector (£1.50 / min) needless complete waste of guy money knew less than me.

    Purchased two items at the same time, but are completely incompatible or so it seems, what should I do.
    Toshiba seem to be incapable of any suitable option!

    Any one out there can help please.

    Hello

    As far as I know the Satellite Pro P100 support the
    -Port VGA (monitor)
    This 15 port pins you allows to connect an external video monitor to the computer

    -Port DVI (monitor), this is optional and not supported by all Satellite Pro P100
    This port allows you to connect an external video monitor to the computer via a DVIcable

    -S-video output port TV
    This s-video out port allows you to connect a TV to cable s-video computer vista 4 pins.
    This port returns the NTSC or PAL signal.

    I put t know what port/cable from the projector supports, but generally, it should be possible to connect this projector to the VGA or DVI port.

    Good bye

    Hello everyone

    I have Toshiba Satellite A200-24 b, equipped with S-video port.
    When I connect to my TV to always display in grayscale mode (no colors)
    I tried to use other cables and other TV, but always with the same problem.

    the cable I used is the S-video to video (A V).

    someone has an idea for this problem?

    Thank you

    Hello

    There are different reasons why you get only a black and white picture on the TV.

    I had the same problem because I used an s-video-to-SCART cable and the pin assignment didn't match with the assignment of the TV port pins.
    But the same cable worked in another TV.

    Another reason could be the bad PAL/NTSC setting.

  • Sending and receiving data PIC18F4550

    OK, I have seen some forums on the way to talk with the LabView PIC18F4550 and did not find any solution up there, usually all the subjects this is ended with nothing.

    OK, here's what I've done so far:

    Part of microcontroller: I have downloaded the example of the Microchip Solutions, compiled the example for PICDEM card, however I have no card PICDEM, so I just set up my own simple Board with minimum elements. I have run this example on my PIC18F4550 and also used the standard Human Interface Device driver, I have run the example application and could turn on/off the LEDs and read potentiometer values. Then, once I saw that the device is working, I uninstalled the driver and unplugged my USB device.

    Now: I found the manual on the site of NOR, which explains how to generate the pilot tool of NI-VISA, I went through it, and with generated success driver for my device and then I installed this driver, plugged my USB with PEAK and could see its properties etc.

    So far seems ok. Now appears as a last step, I want to read data let the potentiometer through the PEAK.

    According to the previous manual, now I use VISA Interactive Control tools, what im going to do now is to send requests to my PIC and get response/data from it.

    Take a look at some of the code of the firmware on my PIC:

    Sub ProcessIO (void)
    {
    Blink the LEDS according to the status of the USB device
    If (blinkStatusValid)
    {
    BlinkUSBStatus();
    }

    Tasks user Application USB
    < configured_state)||(usbsuspendcontrol="=1))">

    If (!.) HIDRxHandleBusy (USBOutHandle)) //Check if data received from the host.
    {
    Switch(ReceivedDataBuffer[0]) //Look the host data sent, to see what kind of application specific command, he sent.
    {
    0 x 80-case: //Toggle control LED
    blinkStatusValid = FALSE; Stop the flashing of the LED automatically, will now control manually.
    If (mGetLED_1 () == mGetLED_2())
    {
    mLED_1_Toggle();
    mLED_2_Toggle();
    }
    on the other
    {
    If (mGetLED_1 ())
    {
    mLED_2_On();
    }
    on the other
    {
    mLED_2_Off();
    }
    }
    break;
    0 x 81-case: //Get State of push button
    ToSendDataBuffer [0] = 0x81; Back to the PC host the command echo we assume in the first byte. In this case, the command Get Pushbutton State.
    if(SW3 == 1) //pushbutton no hurry, the pull up resistance on the circuit board is pulling on the high PORT pin
    {
    ToSendDataBuffer [1] = 0x01;
    }
    else //sw3 should be == 0, push-button is pressed and overwhelming pull upward resistance
    {
    ToSendDataBuffer [1] = 0x00;
    }
    If (!.) HIDTxHandleBusy (USBInHandle))
    {
    USBInHandle = HIDTxPacket (HID_EP,(BYTE*) & ToSendDataBuffer [0], 64);
    }
    break;

    0 x 37-case: command /Read. POT Use ADC to measure an analog voltage on one of the pins of I/o ANxx and returns the result to the host
    {
    WORD_VAL w;

    If (!.) HIDTxHandleBusy (USBInHandle))
    {
    mInitPOT();
    w = ReadPOT(); ADC lets read the pin I/O voltage. See the relevant HardwareProfile - the stem of I/O that it will measure in the xxxxx.h file.
    Some advice from demo, as the Council PIC18F87J50 FS USB plug-in Module, do not have a potentiometer (when used stand-alone).
    This function call will always make however the analog voltage on the I/O pin. To make the demonstration more interesting, it
    suggests that an external adjustable analog voltage must be applied to this PIN.

    ToSendDataBuffer [0] = 0 x 37; Back to host the command echo we assume in the first byte. In this case, the command Read POT (analog voltage).
    ToSendDataBuffer [1] = w.v [0]; Measure the analog voltage LSB
    ToSendDataBuffer [2] = w.v [1]; Measure the analog voltage MSB

    USBInHandle = HIDTxPacket (HID_EP,(BYTE*) & ToSendDataBuffer [0], 64);
    }
    }
    break;
    }
    Rearm OUT for the next package endpoint
    USBOutHandle = HIDRxPacket (HID_EP,(BYTE*) & ReceivedDataBuffer, 64);
    }

    } //end ProcessIO

    As you can see he is ProcessIO function, with the presentation of the main switch, for example case 0 x 37: means if it gets this value from the host, it must send the value of the potentiometer to USB.

    Now, what I tried to do is, in the interactive control of VISA, I selected the tab Interface IO and then tried to send the query with the value 0 x 37 in the field of the wValue, the bmRequestType was 0 x 0, and what I get is weird values I don't think that are the actual values of the potentiometer read... (I tried to change the potentiometer then do ask again and got the same values)

    I also tried to experiment with basic i/o tab and got the same weird things...

    so at this point, what I am doing wrong? what I need to / supposed to do now?

    or can u point me to the source of valuable information?

    or the LabView guru on this site, tell me please your opinion on this subject?

  • Too low current performance with USB-6501

    For my measure I connected to an output port (output high voltage, 28 pins) with resistor of 10kOhm to ground (Pin 32). For the active reader to type out in car, I measured a 3.33V voltage and current of 0.33mA. I repeated the same measure with open-drain configuration, which leads to 3.27V and 0.33mA. I use NI-DAQmx and changed the disc type of output with a property node in labview 8.5.1. High-voltage output was generated with labview. In a second step, I put out high voltage with the able Control Panel & automation of DAQmx which led to the same result.

    For my measure I'd wait a current higher return especially for active training mode, since the specification indicates a voltage between 2.8 and 3.6V for 2mA. I don't understand why the output current is not 0.5mA which would lead to 5V.

    If I do the same measure with the + 5V output (PIN 31) source instead of the output port (pin 28), the current is as expected 0.5mA and 4.8V power can be measured.

    For all measurements, I used a NI USB-6501 which has already been tested by an engineer from the Canadian standard.

    Hello James Mc.

    Thanks much for the reply. To reach the CMOS specifications (between 3.5 and 5 v) I add an external pull-up resistance and use to open-drain output ports.

    Kind regards

  • trigger the meter manually

    Dear community,

    I'm fighting a problem with the start of a task is triggered counter.

    environment:
    -Card: USB-6218 offer using the NOR-DAQmx driver last 9.7
    -OS: Windows 7 x 64
    -platform dev: MS Visual Studio 2010 (C/C++ language)... but don't mind if someone comes up with a solution of Labview

    configuration of the card:
    - redeclenchables counter 0, which begins to generate an amount over of clocks (100 to 1000) to pre-defined, high frequency (200... 250 kHz) when it receives an front amount on PFI0
    -Counter 0 generates the sample clock for two analog output channels (AO0 AO1, number of samples is finished because finity of generated clocks)
    -Counter 0 is also output to standard digital pins (PFI 4 / P1.0) and then smoothed (creates high constant on "clock" constant low orr on "no clock")

    process:
    -NI DAQ card starts the output on AO, 0 and 1 for a predefined period
    -While the clocks are generated, my most smooth guard PFI 4 high
    -When the build is finished, the output of the smoothed counter 0 generates a falling edge (from 'impulse last clock' to 'no more clocks'), which triggers a device X
    -After device X is completed, it generates a rising edge on the entrance of counter 0, which starts clock and so begins the power on A0 0 and 1 new
    - and on and so forth...

    problem:
    -Could not find a way to start the whole loop between NI DAQ card and device X, because I can not activate the counter 0 trigger manually
    -I can't control device X to send me a trigger, because it is technically black box... or call "dumb piece of Electronics" ;-)

    what I tried:
    -creation of a digital output task, what output axis reconnects on pin source Counter 0; does not work, because digital ports can be shared over the borders of the stain on the M Series devices. also I can't reach a single PIN to a task (software exception)

    Any ideas?

    Thank you for reading,

    Mr. Paul

    Hello Charles,

    Unfortunately I have no screenshots of VI, because it is coded in C.

    But I solved the problem:

    It is possible to have a task of external digital output, which is launched while the task retrigger, and the analog output task is already running. This task is defined by program to create a short pulse. Digital output reconnects to the digital input used for triggering.

    My mistake, it's that my card has only one output port digital, but a different task claimed the 8 pins of this port. The other task is only now claiming a single port pin, so the other pins are free to use for additional tasks.

    Thank you for reading,

    Paul
