16 MB of ATI Technologies, Inc. - Video - ATI Rage 128 Ultra

Refer to my previous question, I have also installed this update - ATI Technologies, Inc. - video - 16MB ATI Rage 128 Ultra - at the same time.  I don't know what update is causing my problem since I can't find a way to delete one or the other.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Assuming that these are Windows updates, just uninstall, using the Control Panel Add / Remove programs.

PROTIP: as a general rule, you should NOT install something else of the necessary critical SECURITY updates!

    I'm trying to install Windows 7 on a (40.1 GB) partition on my hard drive, but the installer tells me that I need the driver (Promise Technology Inc. Ultra IDE Controller.  I searched the Internet and tried several, but no results.  Can someone point me in the right direction.  I have a box to open with Technical Support, but not a lot of help out there.

    I suggest that you visit the gigabyte website for your region (and/or the site global http://www.gigabyte.com/?f=g ) and check your motherboard for compatibility with Windows 7.

    The problem you are experiencing would imply that Windows 7 has no native driver support for your disk controller, so if Gigabyte don't have drivers that you are locked unless you buy a discreet disk controller that is compatible Windows 7.

    Please mark this as useful or response if applicable.

    On the other hand, you have this posted in a forum of Windows XP when it is really a problem of Windows 7.

    Notice that it goes all the way back to nVidia TNT and ATI Rage 128. I had both machines at the time... some of the AMP first slot cards, IIRC. So proud of them because they were top-of-the-line at the time.

  • Black screen when you try to start PowerPC G3 beige

    I have a vintage tour 1997 beige PowerPC with OS 9 (don't know which version, I think that the last of them he would go - 9.2.2?).  It has been sitting in the corner, turned off but plugged in for years (on a UPS protected against overvoltages with newer computer).  It was probably 2-3 years since the last power successful upward to retrieve something from him.  I am wanting to get data out of an old program on it, but can't get any view of it, just a black screen.

    Here's what I know about the material:

    Label says PowerPC G3 233 MHz, 512 K Cache, 32 MB / 4 G HD/24 x CD / 56K Modem, 17/02/98

    The memory may have been renovated years ago, there are 3 SIMMS inside.

    I use the video port built, with an adapter for the Apple Display Connector to VGA adapter which worked very well all the years I've used the computer.

    When I turn on, it is what is happening:

    I get the normal "chime".

    The monitor it is connected to the wake mode 'sleep'

    The display goes completely black - (no happy Mac, sad Mac or any Mac or gray screen)

    The monitor will never return "standby mode" until I have shut down the Mac (at least for 10-15 minutes I leave at the same time).  This makes me think that the port video is send something to the screen.

    • Here's what I've tried so far:
    • Tried 2 different monitors and cables, which has occurred on other computers (relatively modern flat screen LCD)
    • Replace the onboard battery
    • Zap the P - RAM
    • Reset the NVRAM by starting command-option-O-f and strike blindly
      • Reset-nvram (press enter/return)
      • Reset-all (News-enter/return) - at what point he restarted then assume that it took orders
    • Started with the space bar to see if the extensions manager would come to the top
    • Sitting SIMM memory (I remember when a memory SIMM went wrong after years, I'm a his 'breaking glass' at the start so I think the memory is OK?)

    The only things I can think to try are changing the ADC to VGA and put in a PCI video card.  Wikipedia lists a couple that were popular with this vintage Mac: ATI Radeon 7000 and 9200.  These will work without having to install drivers? It seems that http://www.amazon.com/ATI-Technologies-Radeon-7000-Graphics/dp/B0000630TB can be had pretty cheap, I don't know about the drivers.

    I have not tried booting from a cΘdΘrom, especially because I was not able to locate them.  I could watch more difficult if it is reasonable to expect a different result, but that seems to be a more fundamental question.  If there are any people with ideas vintage Mac, it would be greatly appreciated!

    The Amazon link you posted is for the PC of ATI Radeon 7000 version.  You need the Mac or PC version which took his chip EEPROM reprogramming with the Mac code.  Fifteen years ago, I bought eight of the sale to the retail-boxing, PC version Radeon 7000 s and flashed the ROM, for use in my beige G3s.  It took OS 9.2.2 support the latest drivers that allowed a 2D acceleration.  The Radeon 9200 Mac Edition is the final PCI graphics card that they marketed for Macs and would cost more and be more graphics card that you need, just to retrieve files from the G3.  You may be able to find a cheap, compatible Mac Radeon 7000 on ebay.  In fact, the older (Mac compatible) ATI Rage 128 PCI graphics of a B & W G3 (shown here) would be well suited to your needs.  When you zapped the PRAM, how many times have you let it go through the reboot cycle, while now pressed the keys "command + Option + P + R?  I usually gave it three.  You could try to remove the sound card 'personality' clean oxidation on the pins plated gold with a soft, white gum and reinstall.  This would be the case for modules of memory DIMMS and ROM card, which can also become oxidized over time.  If the Mac to VGA DB-15 you have a set of microswitches adjustable, the parameters of the (resolution) may be different for newer LCDs you've tried, especially if they have an image format widescreen.  "You can also consult the"failures of start-up list' on this page speed up your Mac G3 box. " "There was a problem with the first batch of voltage regulators used in the beige G3s, but I think they were passed to the VRM Raytheon in February 1998.  If "Raytheon" is printed on your VRM, you can probably exclude the problem.

    The thing is that I already have the following ATI/AMD catalyst 10.10 (latest version dated 22 Oct 10) properly installed and works properly in every respect for my Radeon HD 4870 pcie, as confirmed in the installation report, my DxDiag and in all tests, video and applications.  The other odd thing is that the smallest download available from ATI/AMD is the driver package, but which is still size to 52 MB and I do not think them is not compacted.

    I know that I decide what optional downloads to install, but surely I can I have inadvertently upset my perfectly happy graphics card and updated with a pilot unnecessary and inconsistent with the rest of the suite installed. So, what exactly is this rather small update of MS and why MS Update recognizes that an equivalent or better is already installed?

    Now corrected to my laptop an error of ATI Catalyst Control Center.

    I had given up the uninstall/reinstall and register pluck and sweep, so I ran Intel graphics all the time.

    I voted against reinstall .NET 3.5, 3.0, 2.0... as I didn't aggravate and lose even more time, since I have a working machine.

    The other day the matrix Driver Lenovo had a video update.

  • Satellite Pro A60: ATI Driver update?

    Had some problems, first was the display went mode without failure and the second my daughter said it came with a fatel error message. However, I rebooted and it came with the usual send message from microsoft error report, which is essentially an update to the ATI Graghics driver, but the link on the microsoft page does not work.

    Then I went on the Web site of ATI Technologies Inc. and the drivers download page, but I'm not sure of that that I should go to.

    The A60 runs Windows Home Edition and looking at control panel > maintenance > system > drivers seems to have ATI RS200/RS200M/RS250M Accelerated Graphics Port.

    Sorry, but I didn t understand what kind of problem you have, but if you have problems with the display driver, enter the properties of the graphic adapter and remove the other preinstalled. After having done that reboot the computer and install the driver you can download on the download page of Toshiba under http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com/cgi-bin/ToshibaCSG/download_drivers_bios.jsp

    You will find some version of 6.14.10.6430 ATI display driver.

    What graphics driver you used?
    One from the ATI Web site or the graphics driver for the Toshiba page?

    You must use the graphics driver on the page because Toshiba that these drivers are designed and specially modified for Toshiba laptops!

    I tried to use the graphics drivers for example, nVidia page, and I was not able to install it automatically.
    I find on this forum that the graphics drivers from Toshiba are slightly changed to prevent overheating of the graphics card.

    Due to a high performance graphic map of the temperature increases and can damage some parts inside the laptop.
    The graphics driver prevents the increase in temperature and slows down the performance of the graphics card. If temperature decreases the performance increases.

  • Satellite L670 - update driver for ATI 5650

    Hiya,

    After a few months I just around the audit, if there is no driver update for my model: Satellite L670 with ATI 5650. Apperently Toshiba must approve the pilots to become available to us. Because ATI already has new drivers available, but we are not allowed to install since toshiba does not approve. So we can only download these old way drivers obsolete.

    The thing is thesedrivers have not had an update since February 24th 2011. Or am I wrong? This is unacceptable! newer games run really bad right now with these old drivers. It's horrible!

    Better give us a new driver update as soon as possible! Cause, I can say that I never buy a Toshiba labtop once again, for this reason. And I do not know more ppl are sharing about this than I.

    In my opinion, this statement is for Toshiba directly then perhaps you should contact Toshiba s hotline and repeat this complaint.

    You are absolutely right on updated drivers. For mobile devices, display driver update is not very good with respect to the workstations. Manufacturers put offers to update very often, but they don t care about any peripheral damage so if something goes wrong, they'll send you to the manufacturer of the laptop and computer laptop manufacturer will ask which driver you used.

    You know it's pretty stupid, but typical for laptops. New drivers force a graphics card to give better performance. Better performance means higher temperature of material. High temperature on laptops can be very dangerous and can end with overheating or even damage the equipment.
    Who should be responsible if your graphics card will be Burnout?

    You know, this is pretty complicated.

  • Cannot install driver Vista Ati for Satellite A100-169 (PSAA9E)

    Hi all I have problems to install the Ati 8.31.100.3.2WHQL drivers - 061124 has 2-039454C.
    The problem is I can not install the driver, Catalist Control Center is Ok, there is also no Chance
    to get it running by Device Manager "...\display\Packages\Drivers\Display\LH_INF\CL_39 454.inf".
    the error message "can't open the device!

    I wonder why you were able to install the Catalyst Control Center and not the INF ;)
    Hmmm in my opinion, the driver is ok, but the installation failed!

    You have unpacked all the files correctly ;)
    In the first step, I would recommend uninstalling the software graphical overview.
    After restarting again, you can try to reinstall again!

    By the way; AFAIK the A100-169 has been delivered with the graphic driver for ATI MOBILITY RADEON X 1600. I wonder why the information about the hardware reports the name ATI Mobility Radeon X 1400

  • ATI Radeon HD 3200 graphics card causes frequent PC crashes

    Once a week, my laptop HP 6735 b running Vista 64 - bit professional breaks down. Each time, the incident reports Windows says that the problem is related to my graphics driver:
