2 Bluetooth devices on 2 Macs?

I have 2 Macs on my desk.  Using a bluetooth Trackpad device and I was wondering if it is possible to get the second mac to use a mouse Magic Mouse it will affect the cursor on the Mac using the Trackpad and vice versa?

Thank you

Yes.  Each device is coupled to a computer and should not affect the other.

  • How can I remove Bluetooth devices in Bluetooth which are no longer available to be associated with menu?

Under MacOS 10.11.5 El Capitan, I want to delete old Bluetooth devices in the menu. Following the instructions click on the 'x' does not remove the device - it does that the Mac trial pair, which of course is no longer possible because the device is no longer available. How can I get these unnecessary items on the menu?

    Hello mvheim,

    Try this.

Hold down the alt key and click on the bluetooth menu.   In the menu dropdown > select the item you want to delete > click and the ability to remove or disconnect should appear. Make your choice.

  • Bluetooth device not no projection in sound-> output

My bluetooth (speaker) device indicates 'Connected' in the list of bluetooth devices (in preferences-> Bluetooth system).

However, I don't see it as an option when I go to Preferences-> sound-> release system.

Any thoughts why? This has worked in the past, but not at the moment. I have not tried to restart my machine.

    Hi JVogue,

Looks like you are unable to select your bluetooth device paired as a source of audio output to system preferences. I would start by pairing not your device:

Remove a device from your Mac

If you want to remove (désapparier) a device from the list of devices on your Mac, follow these steps:

    1. Choose the Apple menu > System Preferences, and then click Bluetooth.
    2. Place the pointer on the device you want to remove, and then click the button which appears next to the device name.

Note: After you delete a Bluetooth device, you need to repeat the pairing process, if you want to use again.

From: using a Bluetooth mouse, keyboard or trackpad with your Mac

When that is done, start in safe mode. This will clear some system-level caches and perform a disk check and repair if necessary:

Follow these steps to start in safe mode.

    1. Start or restart your Mac.
    2. As soon as you hear the startup tone, hold down the SHIFT key.
    3. Release the SHIFT key when you see the logo Apple appears on the screen.

After the Apple logo appears, this may take longer than usual to reach the login screen or your office. This is because your Mac performs a check of directory of your drive to boot in safe mode.

To leave safe mode, restart your computer without pressing any keys during startup.

From: try safe mode if your Mac does not start-up

Once you log in safe mode, that's all you need to do there, then restart your computer as usual using Apple > restart. Pair the device again, and then check that you can select as output. Thank you for using communities of Apple Support, all the best!

It sounds as if you follow these steps, but the preferences window does not respond as it should. Try to reset the SMC and try again reset the management system (SCM) controller on your Mac - Apple Support

  • Bluetooth devices will not connect after a long period of absence

It started in the last 3 months, I'm not sure of that OS upgrade specifically.  I currently have Version 10.11.3.  I have a MBP late 2011.  I use a keyboard, trackpad and bluetooth magic, bought the same time as my mac.

Whenever I come back from a business trip (usually a day or two max), my bluetooth keyboard and trackpad will not connect.  They appear in the drop down bluetooth devices, but when I select Connect, nothing happens.  I did everything the new standard batteries, SMC/PRAM reset, nothing helps.  I then manually have to pair them up with difficulty using Set Up Bluetooth Trackpad/keyboard.  It will show "found", then say could not pair.  I have the power on the devices several times his cycle, and then hold the power button 'on' to the pair.  Usually, it takes 5-10 minutes and is terribly frustrating.  Once I get the paired, as long as my stays Mac in the same room with the devices, they pair very well.  Appreciate the advice.

  • Cannot delete the bluetooth device in Windows 8 RTM (running on MacBook Pro)

My office uses Macs but allows employees to use BootCamp to run both environments. I was able to add a pair of headphones bluetooth without problem, but now can't remove them in order to re-pair.

    The event viewer shows:
    Withdrawal of the device node 'BTHENUM\Dev_001816064C73\a & 383f14a7 & 0 & BluetoothDevice_001816064C73' failed with error code 0 x 80070490.

I've never seen that happen before, and can only find references error code 0 x 80070490 Windows Update problems.

Ran sfc/scannow, but came back clean. Any ideas/suggestions?

The same thing happened to me when I tried to remove a bluetooth mouse, so that I can add another.

I tried the above solution presented by Angela T., as he made a lot of sense, but which still has not worked for me and the old mouse maintained reappear.

The problem I encountered was that I was using the Bluetooth devices icon in the box 'Notifications' from the background toolbar on the desktop (i.e. the lower right part of the screen where things like time, volume, etc., are displayed).
For some reason, try to remove the mouse open bluetooth devices window through this icon is mess up every time.

I managed to make it work in the pop-up toolbar that appears when you place your cursor in the lower right of your screen and clicking on 'settings' (the icon that looks like a gear) and then by clicking on "change pc settings" at the bottom.  This brought me to the 'Pc settings' window where I could add and remove devices.  Now when I tried to delete the old mouse and add the new to here, it worked perfectly fine.

Crazy, I know, but it fixed the problem for me.

  • Problem with connection of bluetooth devices.

I just bought a Bluetooth speaker. I plugged and this combined with Bluetooth.in Bluetooth it shows as connected but not on the list of devices.

This says disconnected and nothing plays the computer to the speaker. If I click on connect the blue icon for Bluetooth continues to go round and round.

The device is correct because I connected and he played successfully in my Samsung Galaxy S5 partners. I uninstalled and re installed several times.

On the program of features, it is said not connected, it does also no signal. Can anyone help.

    Hello

Check with the manufacturer of support speakers and your computer machine and ask for their
Forums about known problems (if any). They should also provide methods of connection.

    Try this:

    Disable the Bluetooth device.

On computer Charms Bar-> the settings-> settings change PC-> devices

HOLD the Power button on the device for 8 + seconds until the BLUE light flashes.

Device is entered mode pairing - on computer, click on "Search for Devices".

Install or update drivers if necessary if Windows 8/8.1 will have plenty.

If paired-> Panel-> Sound - reading devices - set as default if you wish.

Is there a way to delete the old list of Bluetooth devices? When I click on the x next to it, he tries to associate rather than delete them. I opened the plist for Bluetooth with Xcode, but I don't see old appliances under recent devices, and the Favorites are the devices that I use.

  • Several similar Bluetooth devices

    Hi all

I'm curious to know if anyone has an effective way to manage several bluetooth on their iPhone, particularly similar bluetooth devices.  Here's my scenario specific household:

I have 3 Bose Soundwave mini in different areas around the House and bring with me to work, a living room stereo system using a logitech bluetooth receiver, stereo room bedroom using a similar receiver and a stereo in my backyard using the Roverbeats Unify bluetooth receiver and another in my garage with a similar Roverbeats receiver.

Often with receivers, my phone will connect to a receiver in the other room, although it is literally in front of the receiver, I want to associate.  I'm so often or having to choose between keeping the receivers do not use unplugged, by selecting "forget connection" on my iPhone every time and just rematching.  With the mini Bose I have not found a way to rename each different unit which is confusing, as they are all labelled the same in my list of Bluetooth connections (I am able to rename every single unit on my Macbook, but that will still be often confused and have connection problems, making me forget all connections with all minis just reconnect from scratch).  I have every Mini labeled with A/B/C, but do not have a way to differentiate one on my iPhone.

So, basically, I feel constantly forget liaison and/or keep some receivers unplugged.  Has anyone found any bluetooth utility function simplified to establish connections rename / prioritize?   I have an iPhone 5 9.3.2.

The name change you make on your computer just the fact it not on the device BT itself. Because there is no user controllable files management, there is no similar to iOS functionality. I don't know of any utility that will help you. The only thing I could suggest is turn off BT devices and turning them on only when you will contact them.

  • Delete the Bluetooth device

Bluetooth instructions say you can delete a Bluetooth device "clicking the X to the right of the name of the device.

BuzzT! Wrong answer. There is NO SUCH THING as an X to the right of the names of the two Bluetooth headphones that I see on the list of connectable devices quickly on my iMac 5 K. So I can't find a way to just, of course, quickly disconnect one of them and make disappear.

So, the question remains. How does one get rid of a Bluetooth device in the list? You know, to try to start over.

There is an 'x' on the right of the unit if you move the mouse here:
