  If you enter the control panel and search for "biometric" you should have an option to 'change the biometric parameters '. If you click this option, you should have a checkbox indicating "Allow users to log on to a domain by using their fingerprints", make sure that having checked if you want to connect with a domain account using your fingerprint. When remove you / add the computer to a domain, so I believe that this option will be restored back to being disabled must be re-activated.

  The scanner on my X 200 finger printing has recently begun to return a response of 'Poor quality' finger scans for Windows Vista logon.

  This can happen from time to time. I recommend you to clean the sensor. I hope after that cleaning, it works well again.

• Finger print reader does not work after upgrade to Windows 8 Pro - DM4 2055BR

  I updated my previous Windows 7 to Windows 8 Pro Edition and the Finger Print Reader no longer works. Validity software driver is already installed more simple pass, but when I run the Easy Pass it pops up the message "the drive is not connected, connect the drive.

  I noticed one lot of other posts related to the same issue, but I don't know if the model of my laptop does not support the new version of the operating system.

  I appreciate if someone could help me with this problem.

  When start you / see: Easy going on?

  You may be running HP SimplePass Version 8.0.0.57 or some other SimplePass 8.x?

  ======================================================================================

  You can run HP SimplePass Version 6.x later on your computer.  You may also be able to get SimplePass version 8.x if you want to stay with this version to work.  It's a personal choice, really - either version should be able to work on Windows 8 Pro.

  Note that the version 8.x SimplePass seems to dislike everyone, but the Internet Explorer browser. This is a personal observation and NOT what can known by other users.  If you use IE, then the point is moot.

  You can probably keep your existing driver of the fingerprint (Validity Sensor in the Device Manager) as long you run the version compatible with Windows 8, illustrated to the webpage of your computer driver:

• FINGER PRINT BIOMETRIC ON MY HP PAVILION dv6 NO longer WORK AFTER REINSTALLATION o/s

  The portable biometric finger print on my HP Pavilion dv6 PC device does not work.

  I get the message:

  1. the fingerprint reader is not detected (during startup before connect you).

  2. Windows has detected none of the biometric devices on this computer (when I checked via Control Panel).

  I went into this challenge when I reinstalled my OS windows 7 after I realized that I had some corrupted files and could not install HP printer on my computer.  Unfortunately, I don't have the original restore file so I had to reformatting and reinstallation of the o/s.

  Help, please.  My operating system is Windows 7 ultimate.

  Sorry, I'm new to this, so I don't really know what I should add can help people. in any case, I have the HP Pavilion dv9700t laptop and about 6 months ago my Finger Print Reader stopped working all together and said it is not detected when I try to use it to connect. I tried to download the drivers again, but he did nothing.  I am running Windows Vista and update as soon as I can.   Check Device Manager, check the personal identification device driver, see if the driver works correctly.

  If it was a software problem, uninstall the current driver and try one of your support page.

  I've been looking for a solution

  My R700 on Win7 worked perfectly using the finger print scanner. At any given time without cause the
  hardware (fingerprint reader to log on) was not recognized by the operating system more.

  -J' tried to remove the software, reinstalled driver
  -updated it and so on resulting material was not found.
  -J' even deleted all the entries in the register - no go.

  -Finger Print genuine software starts, but only to give an error that the FP-reader is not present.

  Is there a way to remove the fingerprint stored manually by removing the manually.

  The equipment works according to the support. (The machine has been send)
  However I don't want to re-setup of the entire machine (it is a work laptop) just to make it work?

  Intro step by step to achieve this or advice?

  I couldn't find a description on how to manually remove fingerprints (cause I suspect this is the problem) from the software to do this does not start.

  If you do not see material unresolved fingerprints or devices in Device Manager, then the device is either disabled in the BIOS or the fingerprint sensor is defective or too loose or there is a spill of liquid causing corrosion.

  I have a laptop Portege R600-10 q, which has been upgraded to run Windows 7 Professional (32 bit) using the provided upgrade drives Toshiba.

  Recently the digitization of finger printing became unreliable so I followed my usual practice and removed the old fingerprints and undertook a new analysis of my fingers.

  I find that there are three required scans for each finger. When I scan the first two times the impression is immediately recognized and rated 'good '. However, the third attempt always fails and will scan up to 8 times, and then the treatment is finished. This happens, regardless, whose finger is involved, the computer restarts, run the utility as an administrator etc.

  I uninstalled the utility of fingerprinting and reinstalled, but the same problem persists.
