2 print manually on 2540 Facer

I just bought a HP Deskjet 2540 all-in-one printer. Everything seems to work ok capsule apart from my inability to print manual duplex. In the "printing options", it says clearly "Print double-sided", but this does not happen. My old 5550 model did this am dissapointed automatically as long as this model gives me I can't solve problems. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for the reply xwebfoot

My apologies, to double check, I see that your Deskjet 2540 printing on both sides manually option is the tab layout when you click Preferences in the dialog box print not under the Advanced menu. Once there he have to choose if you want to return to the long edge or short. With it being manual duplex printing, you will have always to the flick and reinsert them into the printer.

If this is still not what you see, it is possible that software not a not installed correctly, or something in that direction, then we can permanently remove and reinstall the software to make sure that everything goes well. To remove the software, please follow this document and then uninstalling the printer software if you are using Windows 7, 8 or 8.1 I recommend that you download and run the HP printer installation wizard to get the software installed. If you are working with Windows XP or Vista, go to this link and continue to download the software from there.

I would like to know how it works for you!

Hello... Motion 5 comes with a printed manual or simply a downloadable version? If it's the latter what paper size (remember software manufacturers printed books?) book should recommend to users for a total novice?

Personally, I can't recommend a book on paper.

Books like those are a rare breed with reason. To write a good book on the Motion is gigantic effort and certainly one who is bound to become obsolete before it is complete. To print a 1000 + pages like this, which would cost a lot more than the app itself and being obsolete before it came out of the printing presses... Well, not a good idea.

That said, the movement (online) manual is excellent and very easy to navigate.

  • All-in-one OfficeJet J5780 printer does not print manual duplex

    Hi all

first of all, sorry for my bad English; I'm Italian and the Italian Forum, I can't find anything that can help with my problem.

I use my old (and wise... ;-)) OfficeJet J5780 on my laptop with MS Windows 7 SP1 64 bit for years without any problem. In particular, I use the option to manually print on both sides; This means that, once selected this option, the printer automatically prints odd pages in reverse order, and then a pop up tell me to take the papers printed, rotate and load them again; then I click OK and print even pages in the right orders.

Suddenly after any event special, for a few months, or even I select this option, the printer prints the odd pages and then nothing happens on my pc, no pop-up window appears, the printing process remains in the coil and I can not the printer to print even pages too. The only way is to remove the process, clean the spooler and restart it.

I also installed the latest version of the drivers and all of the full package of the HP software, but the problem is still there.

As a solution, I apply manually print the odd pages in reverse order first, then same pages, but it's really a mess...

    Could someone help me?

    Thank you very much.

    Hi Phoenix69,

If this is the case then itreally could be drivers.

You can follow this link to completely uninstall the old software and then use this tool to automatically install the correct software for your computer.

Well well, after a lot of research and testing, I found the file that opens the manual online.

  • LaserJet P1006 duplex printing manual

I have a problem with manual duplex printing on the Laserjet P1006 running Windows Vista. I have multiple accounts configured in Windows. When I print using the account that installed the printer, everything works fine. When I try to print to another account, the prompt that asks you to click continue to print the 2nd side of the paper just has a button closure instead of a button to continue on the bottom. To confirm the problem, I uninstalled the printer and then reinstalled on another user account. Now, my account not manual duplex, but the other cannot. Does anyone have a solution to this problem?

Ah ha! I have a better workaround (at least for my situation; if all goes well it will help others too)

At first, after reviewing the issue of original posters it dawned on me that if I could just install the driver as a normal user (not Admin) then it should work as long as I'm logged in as a normal user (I'm the only user on this computer). But unfortunately I don't have the ability to install unless I run as administrator, so no hope there.

So here's the real solution (for XP users, at least): after installing the driver as an administrator, you must open the "Printers and faxes" window as an administrator. (There are a number of ways to do this. One way is to run Windows Explorer as administrator and then go to the desktop and on the side panel, there should be a link to the control panel. Open and then click on printers and faxes.)

Now select the printer, right click and choose Properties, then select the Security tab. Under "group or user names", select everyone. In the permissions window, check all the buttons 'Allow', then press on apply. (While you're here, you might also click the "Device settings" tab and confirm that the checkbox "allow manual Duplexing" is checked.)

For me, which did the trick.

The advantage is that, before I was also not able to save any 'Print task Quick Sets' in printing preferences of dialogue (unless I was running as an administrator), but now I'm able to do the same.

  • HP deskjet all-in-one 2540: installation manual hp 2540

I am trying to add an IP address manually, and the default gateway and the subnet mask. When I enter the details below I get an error: invalid input. I changed everything I can but don't know what entry is not valid.

    Manual IP: 192.168.1.249

    Manual Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0

    Manual default gateway: 192.168.1.1

    Preferred manual DNS server: 8.8.8.8

Manual of the auxiliary DNS server: 8.8.4.4

The IP address on my routers range is 192.168.1.100 to 192.168.1.149

I use Windows 8.1 with a Linksys Dual-Band Wireless-N Gigabit router. My printer is connected to my wireless network.

    Thank you!!

I finally got the IP address in the manual fields. I followed all the instructions that you have provided, including uninstalling the software and put it back, however, I still received the error 'invalid input '.

I used IE to make these changes and decided to try to use Google Chrome to see if I have the same question. I don't have. Google Chrome allowed me to make the changes that I wanted to without any problem whatsoever. Thank you for your help on this issue.

  • I tried to connect my printer HP Deskjet 2540 all-in-One Series to my Dell Inspiron 15

    Separated from this thread.

    Hi Bill,

I tried to connect my HP Deskjet 2540 all-in-One Series printer to my Dell Inspiron 15 for two days without success.  Can you help me?

    Lenora,

I have a HP DeskJet 2540 on my Dell Inspiron 1545.

The instructions from HP work so you should be fine if you follow them.  The CD contains a ReadMe file that describes the installation procedure.

You must install the software first, and only then connect the printer.  Note that you will first need to install it on a USB connection.  You can change this later if, like me, you intend to use it with WiFi.
