2 TB Seagate Expansion not appearing drive not

I just bought a Seagate Expansion 2 to disk (usb 3) and when I plug it into one of my usb3 or 2 ports I get the sound he has been plugged. Then I get a "searching for drivers ' not found... lived all I can think about. This is supposed to be plug-and-play, no driver required from Seagate.

Here is a screenshot of what happens when it is plugged. Any ideas?

Hello

Thanks for the reply.

According to the description of the error you provided I suggest you make sure that you connect to your computer as an administrator user. Usually the access is denied error occurs when you have not signed up as a user administrator.

The error code 28: the drivers for this device are not installed referents that the driver is corrupted. As you mentioned that all other USB devices not detected when you connect them. This means that there is no problem with the USB driver. "If you look at the link given below and the section" ""sets up in seconds " it is said that there is no need to install any additional software to use this device.

    Hello

This seems to be a problem with the Seagate and USB 3.0 drive.

Would be nice if you could contact Seagate Support and check if there is no problem of compatibility with USB 3.0 drivers.

  • Windows Vista Driver Seagate Ext. Hard drive not recognize

Hello: I have a "push button" five years external seagate hard drive. Vista support applications for this unit - implementation and applications - but when I go to back up my hard drive to laptop (windows vista OS) may not perform the function because of driver problem. I contacted seagate and they said that their hard drives is not software, and there is a problem with the recognition of windows vista driver. the seagate works fine with xp. need help. is there a patch for this problem download?  Thanks, ej.

    milkprod,
Can you tell me what the model number is the external hard drive Seagate that you try to make it work?

Here is a link to the Seagate external drive Troubleshooter - problems of detection of the Windows Vista operating system - http://www.seagate.com/ww/v/index.jsp?locale=en-US&name=ext-ts-vista&vgnextoid=694d8b0e50e73110VgnVCM100000f5ee0a0aRCRD.

You can also try to remove software and / or drivers currently installed, remove the disc, then plug the drive back in and let Vista install default drivers.

If none of these things work let us know what is the model number of the drive and what version of Vista are you using and we will be able to immediately help you.

  • new drive HARD Seagate Barracuda not recognized in the BIOS

    Hello

The Inspiron 530 desktop computer BIOS does not recognize my new HARD drive. It's a Seagate Barracuda 500 GB (ST3500413AS). I try to reinstall Vista, but installation can't find a drive with 3.9 GB. Wrong type of drive in the BIOS found, I think that.

Tried several things, but no results: check the BIOS, but with automatic selection drive only to find a 4 GB (wrong type), updated the BIOS drive (now 1.0.18), tried several drivers with startup etc.

Think I need a good driver, but on the site Web of Seagate, they say that there is no firmware for this drive.

    can someone help me?

    THX, David

    Thanks for all the support.

It wasn't a problem with the SATA 3 or something like that, but the HARD drive was missing. There is no other choice. Come back with my HARD drive (and information) to the store and finally got a new. I hope that the other works :)

    THX and greetings

  • CD/DVD not appearing drive not

Recently my CD/DVD drive stop working.  I can put a CD and hear it turn around, but nothing ever appears in my computer.  I looked in Device Manager and it says that my driver may be corrupted or missing.  It gives an error code 39, but I don't know how to fix it.  I tried to update the drivers, but he said that the driver was updated.  I tried to click on the options button control and a window popped up and said windows was checking for a solutuion, but nothing past the window is closed.  Someone knows how to fix this?

I have a Dell Inspiron E1405 and the disc is called "TSST corp CD - RW. DVD TSL462D ATA Device. »

  • No longer recognizes my Seagate Expansion drive after upgrade to El Capitan

I upgraded this morning to El Capitan. Before that in so doing, I took care of my backup Crashplan was full then removed all of my external drives. I have three following readers:

    (1) Seagate 2 TB portable backup more (for important storage images/documents/videos so I can work between home and College)

    (2) Office of more than Seagate 3TO backup drive (for part of my Crashplan backup - I also backup to Crashplan central in the cloud)

    (3) Seagate to 5 Expansion Drive (to store old files, which are now copied on the 2 TB drive now, and I have not used this drive in age anyway)

Note: nothing is really stored on my Mac hard drive, I keep almost free and save memory for the app

As all the files in the disk of 5 TB are now on my 2 TB drive, and is in turn supported up to 3 TB drive using Crashplan, it's now redundant, I wanted to wait that I upgraded to El Capitan to format the disk of 5 TB, so it is compatible with Time Machine and make another backup and Crashplan.

But after that I've upgraded to El Capitan, I plugged it all readers of my back in and adopted the new HD in Crashplan (as their FAQ instruct). Except that only 2 of the 3 discs are now recognized. The 2 TB and 3 TB drives appear fine, but the 5 TB drive appear not at all.

What can I do to resolve this and get the drive to be recognized? Or just Apple cost me €160 with this upgrade?

The drive appears in the disk utility?

What happens when it goes wrong, you need to ask to Seagate.  These are problems with Microsoft products, MS do not Seagate drives.

    John,

I'm afraid, Seagate Support try their best to give an answer that will cover all the problems that may arise.

But, IMO, the most simple solution is to use the new version of the Seagate Dashboard itself. No need to Cup around with anything and it only is supported according to their info. http://forums.seagate.com/t5/GoFlex-Net-GoFlex-Home/Windows-8-Roadmap/m-p/178736.
  • My Seagate Expansion drive is no longer recognized by my Windows 7 laptop. I went through all the checks I can think of, but nothing helps...

It has worked before and has a lot of my family photos.  I downloaded some pictures on it several times...

What exactly happens when you connect? Is no device detected a unreadable disk?
Other USB storage devices are correctly recognized?
If possible, try it on another computer would be useful to see if the problem is with the drive or your PC.

I am trying to establish a relationship in 11.1.2.1 with Allow selected extension.

When I go on the web, I don't see the sign + next to the name. No idea why?

If this is the case. That's your problem. Instead, right-click the report and select "Preview HTML". It should work.
