    All welcomed to this topic?

Unfortunately the newspapers show much... (note: they do not contain client-side logs)

one thing I thought well... since he is a computer thinClient - we have seen the questions that manufacturers computer thinClient some of their own 'management' software install on the client. He often tries to do things with usb devices (maybe try to share them between a receiver client citrix application and view client app or maybe just there is a citrix receiver application installed too). In our experience, we've seen these apps interfere between them as they try to hang the bottom of usb devices down into the kernel.

as such, could you try stop any 3rd party services - either citrix or your provider of thin client and then try again.

If the problem persists, can you be sure to also collect these log files from the computer thinclient:

    Windows client

    • %ProgramData%\VMware\VDM\logs\debug-*.txt
      AND
    • C:\Windows\Temp\vmware-SYSTEM\vmware-usbarb-*.log

    Linux client

    • default /tmp/vmware-root/VMware-view-Usbd-*.log
      AND
    • / Library/Logs/VMware/vmware-usbarbitrator -.log

for reference, the Agent-side usb connects:

    • %ProgramData%\VMware\VDM\logs\debug-*.txt

    see you soon

  • View Client for Linux, stay connected after disconnect

I have a large lot of IGEL Linux thin clients, and I have them updated to the latest version which includes the latest version of Linux client to view.

The default behavior of the application is not to go out when a connection to a virtual machine descends from the intentional log out of the virtual machine.  This is crazy, because the Windows version of the leave application automatically demand the closing of the session of the view.

This means that when my users log out of their VM because they are trained, the thin client is left to a State after the entry password and before the selection of the pool.  The next person to use the workstation would have access to their account.

It makes no sense at all.  How to change to exit the application?  Until I change it, my Linux thin clients are useless.

    Hello

According to Aaron, it works as expected.

BUT, we did a way to change the behavior of the Client.

    Please consult this document:

    https://www.VMware.com/PDF/view-client-Linux-document.PDF

On page 22, you will find the explanation of the parameter "-once."

Specifies that you don't want to see Client to retry the connection in the case of an error occurring.
Use - once if you want to get a workflow similar to the view client 4.6. This option will force the client to view to exit once the user disconnects or logs off of a desktop computer.
You generally must specify this option if you are using the kiosk mode and use the exit code to handle the error. Otherwise, you might find it difficult to kill the vmware-view process remotely.
If you set the configuration key, specify "TRUE" or "FALSE". Default value is "FALSE".

You can use it like this (tested on an Ubuntu machine):

-Open a terminal and run 'vmware-view - once'

    or

-Change the file in the home folder of the user, called: .vmware/view-preferences

    -Add the line: view.once = 'TRUE '.

For the client to hedgehogs, or all other types/brands/models, I don't know if you can access and apply the changes, so I recommend contacting technical support of these devices.

    Hope this helps,

    Kind regards

    Jonathan

    Shockwave Flash is 11.2r202.
The browser Flash game is DarkOrbit ( www.darkorbit.com ).
The game was working fine until about 2 months ago.

I log in the game (as before) and get on the last page without any problem.
When I click on 'Start' to go to the game client, the screen is black. The browser tab written game client will blink twice.
Please note that everything works fine when I use the chrome Web browser.
DarkOrbit works very well with Firefox on Windows.

Is there a way to use the pepper Flash used in Chrome/chrome using the freshplayerplugin wrapper.

Your Linux distro may have related packages for it.

Alternatively, you can use Chrome or chrome for that one site and use Firefox for everything else.

Go by reading the messages of the forum for the past couple days, I came to understand that Oracle Essbase 11.1.2 no longer ships a client Linux as a separate assembly, you must therefore install the complete Essbase server and then extract the files of the client out of that use.  So I'll try to get the correct bundle of downloaded files to the same get the installer to launch correctly so I can choose a minimum installation, including the components of the client, but I can't get correct zip files, I almost, but there is always some missing, and the instructions I found seem to refer to 11.1.1.X versions which have changed a bit in the 11.1.2.X version.

  • VMware discover 5 support for linux/ubuntu comments?

    Dear Sirs

Is there an agent yet for linux especially Ubuntu 10.04 LTS.  With the Android development picking up speed, we have a real need to have our developers.  The main thing that is necessary for us is the USB redirection to the prompt of the client running XP/Windows 7 or even a thin client for them to download cores to our material connected to the customer.  Thanks in advance, if anyone knows of other solutions, it would be really appreciated.

Are you talking about Office VDI or on the side of client to end-users.

There is a VMware View Client for Linux, this will allow Linux machines to connect to a broker and load a Windows VDI image.

However it is not a VMware View Agent for Linux that allow a remote desktop Linux to be negotiated through the infrastructure of the view to a device from end user customers.

There are rumors of people for the agent Windows runs under Linux using wine and Rdesktop but no one seems to have posted a shot-by-shot full of way to account and then that would be completely supported the point of view of VMware.

  • Is there really a customer Cisco VPN for Linux? _Really? _

    Hello people,

I finally after almost a brain aneurysm trying to think too hard I have my Cisco 881 - SEC - K9 router configured properly for a multi-point my Amazon Virtual Private Cloud IPSec VPN tunnel, so that the obstacle is finally spent, and I think that it has been a very important step in my life somehow. I never thought I'd see the day, I actually got my hands on a legitimate Cisco non - stink... uh... I mean, non-linksys router. Now I can't find a "client" VPN for Linux program. I am running a Xen Hypervisor environment on openSUSE Linux because it is the only Linux distribution that fills all my laborious requirements in a Linux server environment. It is also the most mature and sure Linux on this planet, making it the most significant Linux distribution for my research needs.  Using NetworkManager is not really an option for a Linux based server environment and OpenVPN is just too complicated to understand for my little tiny head.  I've heard of some mysterious "easy VPN", but after that hours of digging online there is no information on this subject, even the Cisco download link leads to a Page not found error.  I see a Linux VPN API for the AnyConnect program, but is it a real VPN client, or just an API?  It seems to want my money to download it, but I have no money nor I really know what it is because it's all closed, the secret-like source and I can not even find a simple README file on him explaining what it is exactly.  I'm just a developer of off-work software attempts to connect to my home for personal use router and I can not really afford to more than $ 1 million for a single program I will only need to download once in my life that should have been included with the router in the first place of the fork. I have that more volunteer will probably not yet able to understand how to use the program when even because I don't know anything about VPN connections, that's why I bought this router so I can try to figure it all out as part of the open source nonprofit, research, I am currently conducting.  Is there some sort of period of evaluation or trial for personal use? Which would be really good if I could at least know if I will be able to understand or not.  I hate throwing money when it is in such a shortage these days. Is there really no alternative to a Cisco router.  It is an absolute necessity for the things I'm trying to accomplish, so try to settle for something else and past with my life isn't really an option. No, it's something that I just need to raise its head on and finish.

I may be a little too crazy in me for my own good, but I don't see why it should take so much money just to learn to do something for personal use, it is not really a skill that I would never use otherwise.  Wouldn't be great if Cisco did their VPN client open-source and free for the public to use and modify, improve, learn and to grow and bring the whole world together in a community? Even the source code to the discontinuous old Cisco VPN client could be used as a tool for learning valuable for some poor student hungry or developer of Open Source software somewhere trying to cope with Sauce and Ramen noodles noodles Ramen on toast (don't tell me you've never thought about it).  With the ripple effect, it would significantly improve sales over time, because it would open the door to a whole new market where could those who previously could not afford to participate now. That's the real power of Open Source. It creates a more skilled workforce for the future by contributing openly and share knowledge. What happens if the next big internet technology and the solution to the global tyranny - the solution to end all wars forever - locked in the mind of a software developer to unemployment, which could not afford to upgrade their software to router from cisco or access the software they need because he was source closed and required engage in a costly to download service contract?  It would be just terrible, wouldn't it?  I guess there is no way to ever know for sure. I guess I'd be as happy if a kind soul out there could tell me an alternative easy to use for one always on the VPN connection that is running in the background that does not require NetworkManager or having to spend days days searching in and trying to figure out some really poor or extremely complex documents?  I apologize for all the sentences run on posed as a question, but just a few serious mental exhaustion of this, being unemployed is a few people from hard work. I really could use a vacation.  Maybe a camping on the coast trip is in order after I get this job, that sounds nice, isn't it? Nothing like a summer storm on the beach to the ocean--away from technology - to refresh the mind.

I won't step in all the discussions in there, but you might want to look into is vpnc and openconnect.

The two opensource projects that seem to work with devices Cisco, for a long time, I've been a user of vpnc.

    http://www.infradead.org/openconnect/

    http://www.UNIX-AG.uni-kl.de/~Massar/vpnc/

Looks like some of your questions, concerns should be directed to your Cisco rep.

There is an AC for Linux client (component the GUI and CLI). If you have problems finding - get it from 'package' (for linux) file, which is essentially a zip.

  • 6u2 ESXi host nested on VMware Workstation for Linux referee v12

    Hello all, I have

I have a lab environment virtual running in VMware Workstation for Linux v12, and my ESXi hosts do not work correctly on one of the virtual networks. All my troubleshooting suggests a problem with nested ESXi hosts that may be a bug, but I want to assure you that I did everything properly first. That's why I post here with the hope that if I made a mistake that maybe someone else can point out he me.

    Physical system

8 core Intel Xeon 2.1 GHz CPU

    128 GB of RAM

OS - kernel Linux 64 - bit w/3.19.0-32-generic Linux Mint 17.3 (fully updated from this announcement)

VMware Workstation 12 Pro - 12.1.1. Build-3770994 (fully updated from this announcement)

    Nested ESXi host VM

ESXi v6.0.0 (Build 3825889, completely updated from this announcement)

4 cards 'physical' (only 3 used for now)

-all use the e1000 NIC hardware virtual, but also tried vmxnet3 NIC with no difference

    -vSwitch0 use vmnic0 & 1 vmnet16 of virtual network in a pair of active / standby

    -vSwitch1 uses vmnic2 on network virtual vmnet18

-vmk0 used for management on vSwitch0 and vmk1 for iSCSI on vSwitch1

-"Promiscuous" mode and forged passes enabled on all Port vSwitch groups (activating or turning off these features makes no difference)

    Test performed until now

I checked that all the IP addresses and network masks used are correct.

With the help of vmkping I ping other nodes on the network vmnet16 with success.

With the help of vmkping I tried to ping the other nodes in the network vmnet18, but that has failed.

I have depolyed other non - ESXi VMs on the vmnet18 network, and they are able to ping each other, but are unable to ping or ping by the ESXI host.

I tried various material virtual NIC as mentioned before, but without changes in the results.

I tried to use only local network instead of the vmnet18 guest network segments with no change in results.

When I find out the status of the network adapters on the ESXi host through vCenter or host incorporated client vmnic0 & 1 time display network information, but vmnic2 shows no networks. Yet, I know that there is a network with different VM communicate on it. Moreover, I was able to get all of this work on a Windows system running 10 Workstation (this is the laptop that my employer gives me with).

Having built nested ESXi labs on different platforms as well as physical environments in the past, I'm very confused as to why I can't get this special configuration to work. At this point my gut tells me that this is probably a bug any with the nested themselves ESXi hosts. Since I can get all this work on vmnet16 including the management of ESXi hosts and the VCSA that I use, I am sure that my vSwitch configuration is correct (other than the IP address space and vmnic configurations is bascially the same). Because I can get other virtual machines to communicate over the network vmnet18 I don't see how can be a VMware Workstation for the issue physical Linux host. Is there something obvious I'm missing here? I read on the ESXi hosts nested under VMware Workstation after having known problems and bugs with networking. If anyone else has experienced this?

Thanks for any help others can provide!

    Kind regards

    Patrick

Well, the problem is now resolved. The problem was what covelli was trying to explain, but I couldn't because the physical host network adapters being mentioned.

The problem on the Linux host, but it was a problem of permissions with the virtual Ethernet adapters. The following article has the fix:
With the help of Ethernet virtual cards in Promiscuous Mode on a Linux host (287) | VMware KB

Even if I launched the workstation under the root user I have yet met this problem and which still makes no sense to me, but change the permissions solve the problem. I was not getting an error message on my Linux Mint and Ubuntu system, but when I tried on a second box of Linux Mint that I just got the error has been generated, and the error message was the above link it contains.

    So, here's what I learned:

    (1) the question has nothing to with a VMware Workstation definition that you can configure.

    (2) the question has nothing to do with a physical network card.
    (3) the question has nothing to do with any vmnic on the nested ESXi host.

    (4) apparently virtual Ethernet adapters are not the correct permissions when created.

All you have to do to fix this is:

    (1) open a terminal.

    (2) run the command ' sudo chmod a + rw/dev/vmnet * "(don't forget to run this each time that you create a new virtual network).

You can also create a group, as shown in the link above and simply give this group the correct permissions. Personally, I think it's easier to just give everyone the rw permission.

I appreciate the help that others have offered. I did not understand what was asked for in previous answers because of the terms that have been used.

I read he said 'Generic platform' - this means that it can be installed on any platform and 32-bit and 64-bit?

    Please advise!

It is the same for 32-bit and 64-bit. 12.1.x release is a 32-bit application - and can be installed on the operating system 32-bit or 64-bit OS
